이 논문은 김수영의 예이츠 문학 수용 양상을 살피고, 그것이 그의 시 세계에 미친 영향을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 4. 19 혁명을 계기로 김수영은 한국 의 시대 현실에 대한 냉철한 인식 아래 새로운 시 쓰기 방법론에 고심(苦心)하는데, 이러한 시적(詩的) 모색은 이 시기 그가 주시했던 예이츠 문학의 특징과 긴밀하게 연 동된다. 김수영은 시대 현실에 대한 예이츠의 인식과 이를 기저로 한 창작 방법론을 매개로 한국 시단의 문제점을 인식하면서, 한국시가 나가야 할 ‘현대성’의 방향을 타 진하였다. 『巨大한 뿌리‏‎』 에서 김수영은 아일랜드 전통에 지대한 관심을 보였던 예이츠 의 시적 특징을 창조적으로 수용하여 전통에 대한 새로운 인식을 마련하였다.

Effects of primary English education using children’s literature have been extensively examined by many researchers in Korea during the past about two decades. This study aims to delineate the research domain by employing a meta-analysis of 31 primary studies that have been published in Korean refereed journals by February 2017. From the primary studies, 41 effects sizes were calculated based on the contrast of the means of two groups and 152 pre-to-post effect sizes based on the contrast of pretest and posttest scores. The results indicate that primary English education using children’s literature had overall a medium-sized effect (g = .60), with its effect being greater in the affective domain (g = .93) than in the cognitive domain (g = .37). More specifically, it was found that introducing children’s literature in the elementary English classrooms would bring about positive learning effects in the areas of vocabulary and reading and would be effective to develop positive learner interest and attitudes toward English learning. The results and their implications are further discussed.

이 논문은 중국 현대소설, 특히 신감각파(新感覺派)의 작품에 나오는 상품과 광고를 추출 하여 그 표상과 브랜드의 역사를 살펴보고자 한다. 이들 작가의 작품엔 수많은 시각 매체와 도시 매체가 출현한다. 그 가운데 현대 상품은 현대인이 갖고 싶어 하는 욕망의 리스트이자 오마주(Hommage)다. 자동차, 보석 등과 같은 고급 사치품에서부터 일상 생활용품에 이르기 까지 현대 상품은 각종 매체를 통해 자신의 가치를 온갖 방법을 동원하여 선전한다. 위의 작 품들을 토대로 현대 상품 목록을 뽑은 결과 크게 몇 가지 범주, 즉 영화나 배우 광고, 담배 광고, 양주 광고, 자동차 광고, 일상용품 광고 등으로 나눌 수 있겠다. 본 연구자는 상품 매체 와 공간 매체를 모두 상품 광고의 범주 속에 넣을 수 있다고 보고 다시 이를 도시 경관 광고, 공인 광고, 기호품 광고, 사치품 광고, 일상용품 광고 등으로 분류하여 논의할 것이다

9/11 테러 이후 아랍계 글쓰기에서 전통 이슬람 정신과 무슬림의 모습을 강 조하고 있는 경향이 커지고 있다는 점이다. 이슬람 문학에 대한 선정적이고 부 정적인 이미지가 대중에 노출될 가능성이 보다 커지고 있다. 9/11 이후 이슬람 세계를 경계의 시각으로 바라보는 서구 현실에 이슬람계 작품이 왜곡된 이미지 로 나타나는 경향을 무시하기가 어려운 것이 사실이다. 테러에 의한 희생과 이 에 대응하는 무슬림들의 공감대가 슬쩍 빠지고, 왜곡된 역사 혹은 모순된 시각 이 9/11 관련 테러 역사 혹은 서구/중동이라는 일상의 정치 스펙트럼으로 이념 적인 침투가 가해질 소지가 많아지고 있다는 점이다. 이에 상응하듯이 오히려 이슬람 문학이 이슬람 본질로 회귀하는 현상이 주목된다.

이 논문은 트랜스내셔널 선회가 문학연구에 가져온 영향을 검토한다. 국가의 경계를 넘어 다양한 교차의 흔적들을 추적하는 작업은 국민문학의 범주를 넘 어서는 개별 문학의 진면목을 발견할 수 있게 해준다. 그러나 동시에 이것은 여전히 강고한 민족주의의 영향력과 주변부 문학의 활력과 개별적 특성이라는 문제를 어떻게 풀 것인가 하는 숙제를 남긴다. 이러한 문제의식을 가지고 이 논문은 트랜스내셔널 선 회를 문학연구에 수용함에 있어 발생하는 새로운 가능성과 한계를 동시에 검토한다.

서양에서 멜랑콜리 이론은 문학과 문화의 분야에서 매우 중요하게 다루어져 왔다. 멜랑콜리는 서양의 우주론에서 인간을 구성하는 4원소중 하나라고 할 수 있으며, 멜랑콜리에 관한 인식론적인 프레임은 명리학에서 구성된 기호학적인 특성과 매우 유사하다. 명리학은 자연을 근간으로 동양에서 자연과 인간의 운명 을 탐구하는 학문이라고 할 수 있다. 멜랑콜리 이론과 명리학의 이론의 가장 핵 심은 둘 모두 인간의 문화와 자연에 관한 것이라고 할 수 있다. 문학이론은 오 랫동안 그것과 인접한 다른 학문의 지식체계를 흡수하면서 발전해 왔다. 정신분 석학, 페미니즘, 정치학, 그리고 심지어 물리학 까지도 문학의 영역으로 흡수되 어 새로운 비평이론의 토대가 되기도 했다. 보다 최근에 문학은 현대과학기술로 인해 위협받고 있는 자연에 대한 새로운 접근을 시도하고 있는데, 이러한 시도 는 생태학, 혹은 생태학적 문학비평의 이름으로 이루어지고 있다. 생태학은 아 마도 현대문명의 파괴적인 위험에 대한 양심적인 학문의 반응이라고 할 수 있 을 것이다. 명리학은 그것이 본래 자연과 인간의 운명을 다루고 있다는 점에서 이러한 생태주의적 관점과 접목될 수 있는 여지가 충분히 많이 있으며, 아마도 그런 관점에서 새로운 인문학적 통찰을 제시해 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

조선족은 중국 역사의 격변을 함께 치루면서 생존했다. 물론 그 과정에서 그들은 역사적 상처를 입을 수밖에 없었고, 그로 인해 각종 희생과 고난을 경험해야 했다. 특히 일본의 침 략, 한국의 6.25전쟁과 항미원조는 대표적인 역사적 사건에 해당한다. 이러한 사건이 일어날 때마다, 조선족은 생존을 위한 선택을 강요받았다. 훗날 조선족 작가들은 이러한 역사와 생존 의 현장을 제재로 선택하여 작품을 집필했다. 그 중 조선족의 희곡에는 이러한 역사의 격변 과 생존의 문제가 수용될 수밖에 없었다. 본 연구는 조선족 희곡에 수용된 역사적 상처와 기 록으로서의 의미를 분석하는 것에 목표를 둔다. 황봉룡, 최정연 그리고 김훈은 이러한 역사적 순간을 포착하고 억압된 의미를 살려내는 것에 역점을 두었다. 본 연구는 그들의 희곡에 담 긴 역사의 상처를 해석하고 기록으로서의 조선족의 희곡을 살펴보고자 한다.

Both religions and literature/the arts have the same purpose--to liberate our mind from the limited ontological domain of the ego and reach infinity, the dimension of genuine love, and thus to attain true wisdom beyond the binary opposition of will, intention, and concepts that cause conflicts and struggle. The goal of religions and literature is to make us to deeply experience the real Self, which is the ultimate reality or universal Truth. This paper first discusses the Buddhist notion of Emptiness and Levinas, whose theory embraces Judaism and Christianity. Then the Kantian sublime is discussed as the most profound aesthetic impetus on the reader’s mind. The last part presents my reading of Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde. By showing the disappearance of the polar opposites, Jecyll and Hyde, the novella leads the reader to the sphere of the sublime where the reader experiences the spiritual feeling that detaches her/him from ontological perception and conceptualization.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of writing workshop in a primary EFL context using children’s literature featuring social problems as the language input for learners. To accomplish the objective, two research questions were set up: 1) What aspects are shown in the development of primary EFL learners’ literacy skills through writing workshop using children’s literature? 2) What are some impacts in promoting social sensitivity through writing workshop using children’s literature featuring social problems? The data collected from diverse sources including worksheets, surveys, teacher’s logs, interviews, and self-reflection responses yielded two major findings. The first finding showed that participants learned how to utilize literary texts in their writing. In other words, the text used in the study played a motive for the participants in initiating and developing their writing. The second finding revealed the potential of cultivating social sensitivities of language learners through reading based writing workshop. For example, the participants identified the problematic situation by sympathizing with the characters from the texts, and tried to offer solutions. Also, democratic civic qualities of students were ascertained through the process of writing workshop. Based on the results, educational implications were provided.

One major goal of Slavoj Žižek’s thought throughout his life works is to establish politico-ethical subject. Žižek’s paradoxical subject, just like Lacan’s subject that is a posteriori result of a subjectivation event, situates itself in this world but does not belong to this world. Since this kind of subject does not resolve itself into the Symbolic of this world but remain as a foreign element, it keeps a revolutionary potential against this worldly order. For Žižek, a revolutionary moment happens when ‘the Thing’ of the Real is identified with a subject and intrudes into the Symbolic. Antigone, Abraham, and the Christ are the main characters who represent Žižek’s politico-ethical subject. Žižek’s criticism against Buddhism and Derridean deconstruction does not look accurate and fair. Also Žižek’s ethic fails to distinguish between the good and the evil. Despite the weaknesses in his thought, Žižek’s psychoanalytical insight can provide positive contributions for understanding the hidden structure of subconsciousness connected to human subject and this worldly structures.

􋺷환상록􋺸의 기하학적 상징은 개인과 문명의 역사의 스케일을 조정하면 서 지도를 그린다. 예이츠는 역사를 입체파의 그림과도 같이 지그재그형식의 가이어의 움직이는 도형의 관점에서 시각화하였다. 가이어는 예이츠가 정신과 역사를 동시에 그 려보는 지도상의 스케일에 속한다. 가이어는 항상 멀리가서는 다시 자신의 원점으로 되돌아오는 셔틀콕과 같다. 외견상 개인과 문명의 역사의 움직임은 미로같이 보인다. 그러나 스케일의 수학적 구조를 지닌 􋺷환상록􋺸은 정신과 역사의 안과 밖에서 기능하 고, 가이어의 스케일은 결코 변화를 멈추지 않고 소용돌이처럼 지속적으로 움직인다. 예이츠의 가이어의 시학은 바로 스케일의 시학의 원조이다.

This paper aimed to discuss the operative aspects of politeness from two perspectives (i.e., social duty and intentional strategy) by examining the Korean public perceptions presented within the Korean literature texts. As the Korean social duties for politeness presuppose the recognition of status, the speech and behaviors of superiors and inferiors are distinct and fixed. Thus, the truth is concealed to respect superiors’ status while inferiors are forced to do self-depreciation. In addition, speech and behavior for solidarity and fellowship are considered as ones that inferiors dare not perform to superiors, and instead are replaced by obedience and permission to superiors. The intentional strategies of inferiors to superiors for individual profits run outwardly in parallel with polite behaviors performing social duties. However, when they do not bring any profits, the polite speech and behavior disappears, thus bringing about relative betrayal. On the other hand, the intentional politeness of superiors to inferiors is marked in Korea. It is performed to trade profits with each other and recognized according to a hearer’s subjective perspective and emotion. In this way, Korean politeness in terms of the social norms operates in the boundary between harmony and betrayal.

하데위히(Hadewijch of Antwerp)는 중세 그리스도교의 여성 신비가이며 베 긴이고, 신비문학가로서 13세기 전반에서 중후반 무렵에 현대의 벨기에의 안트 베르펜을 중심으로 활동한 것으로 추정한다. 그는 다양한 문학 장르를 통하여 자신과 신적 연인 민느(Minne)의 신비적인 사랑의 길을 저술하면서 궁정풍 사 랑의 구도 및 관용적 어법을 사용하였다. 본 연구는 하데위히의 작품 안에 궁정 풍 사랑의 특성과 상응하는 내용들을 조사하여 그의 작품 안에 궁정풍 사랑의 요소들이 풍부히 담겨 있음을 제시한다. 이를 위하여 그의 작품 중에서 『편지』 와 『비전』 을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 하데위히는 궁정풍 사랑을 해석의 틀로 삼 아 신비 작품을 저술함으로써 독자들이 그리스도교의 신비적인 길을 쉽게 이해 하도록 도움을 주었고, 그들에게 사랑할 수 있는 상대를 신적 연인으로 확장하 여 사고하도록 의식의 지평을 열어주었을 것이라고 생각한다. 위와 같은 자료를 토대로 볼 때 과연 하데위히의 작품들은 종교적 궁정풍 문학이라고 할 수 있겠 다.

본 연구는 장애 문제에 대해 가장 많이 인용되는 본문인 요한복음 9장에 나 오는 치유 받은 시각장애인의 영성과 그 영향에 대해 고찰한다. 오늘날 우리 사 회는 장애로 인한 고통에 대해 예민함을 상실하였다. 세계 인구의 약 10%가 장 애를 가지고 있는 현실에서 장애문제를 연구하고 장애에 대한 올바른 의식을 수립하는 것이 필요하다. 요한복음 9장에서 예수께서 한 시각장애인을 고친 사 건은 장애인과 비장애인을 죄-장애 이데올로기로부터 해방시킨다. 그 시각장애 인은 바리새인들과의 논쟁의 과정을 통해 신앙이 성숙한 사람으로 성장하였다. 그의 영성은 인간 자신에 대한 더 넓은 개념을 갖게 하는데 공헌하였다. 유대인 의 전통에 의하면 장애인은 사회적으로 비정상이며 더 이상 능력이 없는 사람 들로 정의되었다. 요한복음 9장의 이야기는 장애는 세상을 섬기는 하나님의 선 물이라는 이해의 토대가 되고 있다. 장애인은 무엇인가가 결여된 존재가 아니라 능력이 다른 존재임을 보여준다.
