        본 연구는 콘크리트 교량의 지진취약도 곡선을 개발함에 있어 성능 스펙트럼 기법(Capacity Spectrum Method)에 대한 고찰을 통해 가장 적절한 해석방법을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 원래 성능 스펙트럼 기법은 빌딩 구조물을 위한 간략화된 정적 비선형 해석의 일환으로 개발되었는 바, 본 연구에서는 이 기법을 교량의 지진취약도 곡선을 개발하는데 응용하였다. 서로 다른 네가지의 방법으로 성능 스펙트럼 기법을 통해 구해진 취약도 곡선들을 비선형 시간이력해석 방법에 의해 구해진 취약도 곡선과 비교하였다. 취약도 곡선은 두 개의 변수를 가진 lognormal 분포를 따르는 것으로 가정하였으며 PGA(Peak Ground Acceleration)의 함수로 나타내어졌다. FEMA(Federal Emergency Management Agency) SAC(SEAOC-ATC-CUREe) steel 프로젝트에 의해 개발된 로스앤젤레스 지역 60개의 지진이 교량해석을 위해 사용되었다. 성능 스펙트럼 기법과 시간이력해석에 따라 만들어진 교량의 지진취약도 곡선들을 비교 검토한 바, 이 중 하나의 방법이 부합되는 결과를 보여주었다. 요구 스펙트럼 작성시 본 논문에서 제시된 지침을 따르면 비선형 시간이력 해석시와 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 다만 지진과 교량이 지닌 특수성으로 인해 본 연구의 결과가 항상 적용되는지는 더 심도있는 연구를 통해 검증되어야 할 것이다.

        This simulation study investigated the characteristics of normal gait, crouch gait, crouch/equinus gait, crouch gait, crouch/equinus gait. The knee flexion angles were restricted using a specially designed orthosis. This study was carried out in a motion analysis laboratory of the National Rehabilitation Center. Fifteen healthy male subjects were recruited for the study. The purposes of this study were (1) to compare spatiotemporal parameters, kinematics, and kinetic variables in the sagittal plane among the different gait, (2) to investigate the secondary compensatory strategy, and (3) to suggest biomechanical physical therapy treatment methods. The pattern and magnitude observed in each condition were similar to those of normal gait, except the peak knee extension moment of the unrestricted ankle motion-crouch gait. However, the speed of the crouch gait was half that of a normal gait. The ankle joint moment in the crouch/equinus gait showed the double-bump pattern commonly observed in children with spastic cerebral palsy, and there was no significant difference in gait speed as compared with normal gait. The peak ankle plantar-flexor moment and ankle power generated during the terminal stance in the crouch/equinus conditions were reduced as compared with normal and crouch gaits (p<.05). The crouch/equinus gait at the ankle joint was an effective compensatory mechanism. Since ankle plantarflexion contracture can be exacerbated secondary to the ankle compensatory strategy in the crouch/equinus gait, it is necessary to increase the range of ankle dorsiflexion and the strength of plantarflexion simultaneously to decrease the abnormal biomechanical advantages of the ankle joint.

        There were two purposes of this study. The first was to research the effects of standard and fixed-split keyboards on wrist posture and movements during word processing. The second was to select optimal computer input devices in order to prevent cummulative trauma disorder in the wrist region. The group of subjects consisted of thirteen healthy men and women who all agreed to participate in this study. Kinematic data was measured from both wrist flexion and extension, and wrist radial and ulnar deviation during a 20 minute period of word processing work. The measuring tool was an electrical goniometer, and was produced by Biometrics Cooperation. The results were as follows: 1. The wrist flexion and extension at resting starting position were not significantly different (p>.05), however the angle of radial and ulnar deviation were significantly different in standard and split keyboard use during word processing (p<.05). 2. In the initial 10 minutes, the dynamic angle of wrist flexion and extension were not significantly different (p>.05), however the dynamic angle of radial and ulnar deviation was significantly different in standard and split keyboard use during word processing (p<.05). These results suggest that the split keyboard is more optimal than the standard keyboard, because it prevented excessive ulnar deviation during word processing.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of backrests of varying degrees (, , ) on three abdominal muscles (upper rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique) and back extensor activation during lower extremity exercise. The three different conditions during bilateral knee extention exercise were: (1) leaning on a chair with a backrest, (2) leaning on a chair with a backrest, (3) leaning on a chair with a backrest. Fifteen healthy muscle subjects (mean age=24.2 years [SD=2.96], mean height=175.6 cm [SD=7.46], mean weight=69.1 kg [SD=7.36]) with no history of neuromusculoskeletal disease voluntarily participated in this study. Electromyography was used to collect muscle activation, and the muscle activation was expressed as a percentage of maximal voluntary isometric contraction (%MVIC). Repeated one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the statistical significance. The results were as follows: (1) upper rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique activation measured significantly lower. (2) measured significantly lower when lower degree.

        William Butler Yeats was born at Georgeville, Sandymount Avenue, Dublin, in 1865, and died in the South of France, in January 28, 1939. Yeats was fifty in 1915-1916. He provides a poetic rendering of his visionary experience at his fiftieth year in the fourth section of "Vacillation" written in November 1931, when he became absorbed in the philosophical thinking while writing A Vision: "My fiftieth year had come and gone,/ I sat, a solitary man,/ In a crowded London shop,/ An open book and empty cup/ On the marble table-top./ While on the shop and street I gazed/ My body of a sudden blazed;/ And twenty minutes more or less/ It seemed, so great my happiness,/ That I was blessed and could bless."(CPN 251). In May 9, 1917, recalling his fiftieth year, Yeats describes this experience in a prose, entitled "Anima Mundi": "Perhaps I am sitting in some crowded restaurant, the open book beside me, or closed, my excitement having overbrimmed the page. I look at the strangers near as if I had known them all my life, and it seems strange that I cannot speak to them: everything fills me with affection, I have no longer any fears of any needs; I do not even remember that this happy mood must come to an end. It seems as if the vehicle had suddenly grown pure and far extended and so luminous that the images from Anima Mundi, embodied there and drunk with that sweetness, would, like a country drunkard who has thrown a wisp into his own thatch, burn up time." (Myth 364-5) Seamus Heaney was born in April 13, 1939 in Count Derry, Northern Ireland, and has been attacking Yeats since 1980s for the latter's aristocratic mysticism and spiritual matters. Heaney gave a lecture at Oxford University in 1990, entitled "Joy or Night: Last Things in the Poetry of W. B. Yeats and Philip Larkin." This lecture was given at the end of his own fiftieth year and simultaneously commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of Yeats's death. In this lecture, Heaney comes to open up "a sudden comprehension" to Yeats's vacillating visionary experience of the spirit in "The Cold Heaven": "The spirit's vulnerability, the mind's awe at the infinite spaces and its bewilderment at the implacable inquisition which they representall of this is simultaneously present" (The Redress of Poetry 148). In "Fostering," a poem from Seeing Things (1991), Heaney professes his poetic admission of Yeatsian visionary position: "Me waiting until I was nearly fifty/ To credit marvels" (50). In short, Heaney reaches what Yeats did for the spiritual world. The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate how Heaney reacts Yeats's poetry of vision. My focus is on the year fifty, when they erupt their creative energy in terms of "vacillation"which nevertheless shows the provocative and violent dynamism of the Yeatsian "interlocking gyres."

        Ireland abounds in narrative stories, including mythologies, sagas, legends and folktales, handed down through many generations from the ancient pagan period. In Ireland, especially in the western country Sligo where W. B. Yeats spent the better part of his early days, one cannot go far without hearing the mystic stories of pagan gods, nymphs and ghosts. The Irish are very proud of their unique and traditional Celtic culture and they still believe that the supernatural beings haunt everywhere and intervene in their human affairs. Yeats was educated in England and greatly influenced by many English writers and poets. Yeats, however, born with Celtic spirit and encouraged by the patriot John O’Leary, determined to be a national poet. Therefore, he began to write his early romantic narratives and dramatic verses based on the ancient Irish myths and legends, following the two brilliant predecessors Samuel Ferguson and William Allingham. Besides, what is more important than anything else, he usually put his own life and his unrequited love for Maud Gonne by modifying their themes and symbols into the ancient stories.         Finite model eye with four aspheric surface, photopic VlSlon, and emmetropia was designed. The visual performance of model eye is predicted and compared. Designed model eye has variable pupil diarneter from 1 mm to 8 mm theoretically. At pupil diameter 4 mm, longitudinal ray aberration of model eye is 0.63 D. At wavelength between 470 nm and 650 nm, longitudinal chromatic ray aberration is 1.15 D. Airy disk diarneters are deterrnined by using point spread function and f-number. The visual performance of model eye of emmetropia, -0.50 D , -0.75 D, -1.00 D, -1.50 D, and -2.00 D myopia is predicted, and compared with clinical subjective refraction

        In this study, spectral transmittance of signal lights (red, green, and yellow) through each colored lens was measured in other to examine changes in color sense of traffic lights according to color (red, yellow, green, blue, brown, and black) and coloring time (30 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, and 30 min) of plastic tinted lens. The results were as follows ; Spectral transmittance distribution of a red light through lenses having different coloring time for each color (red, yellow, green, blue, brown, and black), study at the lowest value in the range of wave length 580-585 nm through red, yellow, green and blue lenses. The minimum value through brown lens was found at 55 0-600 nm, and at 570-590 nm through black one. Spectral in transmittance distribution of a yellow light through lenses with various coloring time for each color (red, yellow, green, blue, brown and black) stood at the minimum value showed at wavelength 540 nm through red, yellow, and green lenses and at 540- 670 nm through blue, brown, and black lenses. In the examination on spectral transmittance distribution of a green light through lenses having diverse coloring time for each color (red, yellow, green, blue, brown, and black), results appeared similar regardless of color and transmittance was lower less than 15% at the long-wavelength part over 600 nm. The dominant wavelengths of traffic lights according to each tinted lens were calculated as follows. The dominant wavelength of a red light was measured at 665-669 nm in red and yellow lenses, at 669-679 nm in green and blue lenses, at 664-676 nm in brown lens, and at 672-677 nm in black lens. The dominant wavelength of a yellow light showed at 565-558 nm in red lens, at 548-535 nm in yellow lens, at 540-576 nm in green lens, at 549-579 nm in blue lens, at 518 - 575nm in brown lens, and at 566-576 nm in black lens. The dominant wavelength of a green light appeared at 484-472 nm in red lens, at 487-485 nm in yellow lens, at 491-479 nm in green lens, at 490-484 nm in blue lens, at 490- 476 nm in brown lens, and at 483-477 nm in black lens.

        Aiming to understand the poetry of W. B. Yeats in terms of gender, sexuality, and politics, this paper reads some major poems of his early years. The first part of the paper reads the poems in which the masculine world of war, science, and political power is negated in favor of the feminine world of nature, poetry, and wisdom. The present writer of the paper considers that the femininity of these poems, expressed in the pastoral world of the shepherd, or the stories of Irish legendary King Goll, Fergus, and the fairyland, comes from Yeats's poetic attempt to surmount the British imperial and materialistic world by enhancing the Irish cultural traditions and values. The next part reads a group of poems which deal with Yeats's love of Maud Gonne. Using the image of the rose or the courtly genre, both of them being old traditional poetic conventions, the poet represents Maud Gonne either as a goddess of eternal beauty or a woman of heroic nobility. However, she is also represented as a woman of "lonely face" and "pilgrim soul," a woman who brings "the sorrow of love," or a woman repeatedly associated with the tragic world of Troy. This ambivalence or double vision in the poet's representation of her seems to result form Yeats's ambiguous attitude to Maud Gonne and her revolutionary and social work. The last part of the paper deals with two poems and a play which represent Ireland as a woman. The use of a woman figure as symbolic image of Ireland, especially Yeats's use of Cathleen ni Houlihan in his poetry and drama, is important, because it most distinctively reveals the relations between sexual politics and aesthetic value in the early poetry of Yeats. In this respect, the writer of this paper notes that the woman figure in these works is a highly romanticized and idealized one, rather than a real one with human body and sexual desire, and thinks that this is related to Yeats's version of Iriish nationalism with its strengths and limitations.

        Synthesis gas is produced commercially by a steam reforming process. However, the process is highly endothermic and energy intensive. Thus, this study was conducted to produce synthesis gas by the partial oxidation of methane to cut down the energy cost. Supported Ni catalysts were prepared by the impregnation method. To examine the activity of the catalysts, a differential fixed bed reactor was used, and the reaction was carried out at 750~850℃ and 1 atm. The fresh and used catalysts were characterized by XRD, XPS, TGA and AAS. The highest catalytic activity was obtained with the 13wt% Ni/MgO catalyst, with which methane conversion was 81%, and H2 and CO selectivities were 94% and 93%, respectively. 13wt% Ni/MgO catalyst showed the best MgNiO2 solid solution state, which can explain the highest catalytic activity of the 13wt% Ni/MgO catalyst.

        In the conventional metallothermic reduction (MR) process for obtaining tantalum powder in batch-type operation. it is difficult to control morphology and location of deposits. On the other hand, a electronically mediated reaction (EMR) process is capable to overcome these difficulties and has a merit of continuous process, but it has the defect that the reduction yield is poor. MR-EMR combination process is a method that is able to overcome demerits of MR and EMR process. In this study, a MR-EMR combination process has been applied to the production of tantalum powder by sodium reduction of TaF. The total charge passed through external circuit and average particle size (FSSS) were increased with increasing reduction temperature. The proportion of fine particle (-325 mesh) was decreased with increasing reduction temperature. The yield was improved from 65% to 74% with increasing reduction temperature. Considering the charge, impurities, morphology, particle size and yield, an reduction temperature of 1,123 K was found to be optimum temperature for MR-EMR combination process.s.
