Objective: The purpose of this paper was to study the effect of typing speed and accuracy according to 4 different typing aids on computer keyboard and mouse use. Method: The subjects of this study were 11 of C6∼C7 complete injury patients who had been over six months after injury, and four style of the typing aids, finger, slip-on, band, and modified finger, were used in this study. Each data of typing aid was collected by measuring typing speed and accuracy and analysed with SPSS 10.0. Results: The measured result according to 4 typing aids in typing speed showed that a modified finger typing aid was 41.09 as the highest performance and a bend typing aid was 33.27 as the lowest performance. The typing speed through styles was statistically significant(p<0.05). The measured result according to typing aid style in typing accuracy showed that a bend typing aid was 96.45% as the highest performance and a finger typing aid was 95.45% as the lowest performance. The typing accuracy through styles was not statistically significant(p>0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that modified typing aid seems to be the most efficient among four style of typing aids. Thus, modified typing aid can be an available typing aid having both functional and cosmetic factor for C6∼C7 complete injured patients. In the future use of the modified typing aid should be needed much more as well as its reevaluation should be performed.

Objective: To learn correlation and linear relation between Perceptual Quotient (PQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ) by evaluating visual perception and IQ of the children with cerebral palsy and normal children, to compare the difference of the subject groups, and to use it as the preliminary study on the correlation between the visual perception and the IQ. Method: The assessment for the visual perception has been performed by Motor Free Visual Perception Test-revised (MVPT-R) twice and for the IQ by Leiter International Performance Scale (LIPS). Subjects have been 11 children with the cerebral palsy and 9 normal children, at the age of between 5 and 11. Results: Regarding the scores of the MVPT-R and the IQ of LIPS, the normal children’s scores have been higher than the one with the cerebral palsy, with meaningful statistics. There has been very high correlation between mental age and perceptual age, the IQ and the PQ, and the IQ has increased as the PQ has increased. When it comes to linear regression, the cerebral palsy has fit 65.9% while the other with the normal children has fit just 34.2%. Conclusions: There is a possibility of predicting the PQ and the IQ owing to the high correlation and the linear relation showed between the PQ and the IQ. There is a need for the activated study on the linear relation collecting the data about enough subjects through further research.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to measure the level of stress of cerebral palsy wokers, and to investigate the relationship between the stress and stress inducing factors of cerebral palsy wokers in Korean manufacturing industry. Method: The sample used in this study consists of 66 employees with cerebral palsy. They are employees of the protective employment companies located in Seoul, Inchon and Gyung-gi province. The psycho-social well-being index (PWI), which was designed through modification of Goldberg’s 60-items of General health Questionaire (GHS), was used to measure the stress level. The independent variables are general and disability characteristics, workplace-related characteristics. The collected data were analyzed using SAS version 6.12 program. Results: The results of this study were summarized as follows : The average score for the level of stress response was 55.19 (±19.17). The high risk group was 32% of the woker with cerebral palsy, the latent stress group was 62%, and healthy group was 6%. The overall stress level was very high. The level of stress was significantly higher in respondents who has poor self-perceived health status, who can not satisfied with their job and workplace. Conclusions: In conclusion, the result of this study suggest that appropriate prevocational programs, should be estabilish and provided for reducing the stress of cerebral palsy wokers.

Objective: To test appropriateness of writing subtest translated into Korean. Method: Fourty-five students participated in this study. The time spent on each sentence was measured for both hand. We performed Repeated Measure as a statistical analysis. Results: When the averaged time spent on each sentence was compared, the second and the fourth sentences were longer than the first and the third sentences. There were significant differences in the time spent to write each sentences with nondominant hand, but not with dominant hand. For the nondominant hand, the result of contrast test had significant differences in the first, second, third sentences, but not in the fourth sentence. Conclusions: There was significant difference in the time spent in writing the four sentences. Because equivalent time duration represents the validity of Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, a modification of the test is recommended.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cognitive function and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) improvement with Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI) and Stroke patient through Computer Assisted Cognitive Rehabilitation (CACR) program within specific approach and hierarchial approach training program. For this investigation CACR training was administered to 14 patients diagnosed of TBI and Stroke. Method: The CACR was given to the subject patient for 1months, 5times a week and each stimulation lasted 30 minutes. Cognitive function and activities of daily living were compared pre-CACR program with post-CACR program by MMSE and FIM . Results: Summarizing the results of this investigation; 1. Statistically significant improvement in 8 items of MMSE and 11 items of FIM was found after the application of CACR program training. 2. Cognitive function showed the spastically significant improvement after CACR program within specific approach and hierarchial approach training program 3. Activities of daily living showed the statistically significant improvement after CACR program within specific approach and hierarchial approach especially hierarchial approach more statistically significant increased than specific approach.

Objective: To explore the effect of a eye patching technique in order to decrease patients’ unilateral neglect. For this study, eye patching is easy to get and a simple method that most patients find acceptable. Method: This study used the ABA design. The subject was a male patient at the age of 66 who had the left hemiplegia and left unilateral neglect caused by right cerebral vascular accident. He was required to wear the eye patching on the right eye during all the period of ADL because unilateral neglect causes many problems in the majority of ADL. The assessments for the unilateral neglect had been performed by the Line bisection and the Albert test once a session (day). Results: Regarding the Means of the errors to the Line bisection and the Albert test, the Means of the errors was decreased during the period of the intervention (B) and was decreased after the withdrawal (A'). Conclusions: Right monocular patching was effective to release the unilateral neglect. Further study is necessary to increase the sample size and the duration of experiments.

Objective: To explore the effectiveness of sensory integrative procedures in promoting postural control, bilateral coordination and motor planning outcomes in child with developmental delay. Design: A single-subject ABA research design. Setting: Early Intervention Center of University. Participant: A 7-year-old boy with developmental delay. Interventions: Sensory integrative procedure. The subject was tested four times before, four times during, and three times after intervention. Main Outcome Measure: Part of subtests of DeGangi-Berl Test of Sensory Integration, Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Proficiency and Sensory Integration and Praxis Test. Result: Postural control and motor planning are effected on sensory integrative procedure. Bilateral coordination did not change by this study. The quality of performance was increased by the therapy.
