        Trawlers are divided into stern and side types by the method of shooting and hauling net, but the latter is difficult to find beside Korea. In East Sea of Korea, the side type used to be in early 2000’s, but it improved to stern type because of its inefficient operating method. The aims of this paper is to make clear the stability of the side trawler in the East Sea, and then confirm whether it satisfy the IMO rule or not, the degree of the transverse inclining angle of the ship when hauling net at hull side. In results, the stability of the ship in initial inclining range satisfied the IMO rule and the domestic rule, but not satisfied those rule in over the range. The limit load of the ship that was coincide with the angle of beam end in hauling net at side was about 26 tons, 18 tons in normal sea condition and storm warning condition respectively. The transverse inclining angles of the ship in hauling net were much higher from 3.3 to 5.5 times than the longitudinal inclining angle of the stern trawler, although those angles were slightly changed with depending on the loading and sea condition.

        The inherent efficiency of a ship would be prior to any other quality factors in ship's safety, because lack of it may give rise to a serious sea casuality even if it were a light mistake in operation. And the representative casualty comes from a deficiency of stability and an operating error combined would be capsizing. The Korean offshore large purseiner looks to have a structural weak point with small range of stability in spite of her big initial metacentric height, and have various type of roll reduction devices in order to cover up the defect. The aim of this study is to grasp for the roll reduction characteristics of the purseiner with bilge keel only and a stern keel additionally attached. The results are summarized as follows; The rolling angle of the model ship was increased in accordance with increase of the wave period and height, especially at close to the natural wave period of her, and the trends were more distinguished in the situation of bilge keel only installation than in the stern keel additionally installed. And stern keel has not noticeable effect on the reduction of the roll in the light ship condition, but has a little effect in full load condition.

        Marine casualties of vessel are said to be in most case caused by human error, but it would be valid for the assumption that the ship is built with high quality and then should be acceptable to the safety standards. It means that the inherent characteristics of a ship should be the first consideration on the safety of ship. Therefore it is basically necessary for navigator to grasp the inherent stability of his ship and ensure that the ship complies with the minimum statutory standards of stability. This study is to realize the stability of the Korean offshore large purseiner varying with loading conditions by the inclining data and some calculations. The author compared the stability of the ship with IMO criteria and domestic rule, and proposed some improvement for the safety of the ship. The results are summarized as follows ; The values of GM of the ship according to the loading condition in navigation satisfy both of the IMO criteria and the domestic rule, but in case of the area under the GZ curves between the heel angles of 30˚ and 40˚, and the heel angle occuring the maximum righting lever not satisfy the IMO rule at the fishing ground departure and arrival conditions in the haul in net situation. The initial metacentric height of the ship is very large, but the range of stability and the occurring angle of the maximum GZ are very small, so even small inclining can bring about the beam end. The best method of improvement for that is to increase the freeboard of the model among the variables.

        According to the recent statistics of marine casualties in Korea, fishing boats are more likely to be ended in the casualties, and small fishing boats especially cause much more accidents in sinking and capsizing than any other big vessels. These casualties were mainly produced from the ignorance on the lack of own ship stability. From this view, this study aims to analyze the characteristics of stability on the crab trap fishing boat receiving transverse wave by means of carrying out the water tank test. The rolling angle of the model ship was affected largely with the displacement and the wave period of it, and the trends were shown that the magnitude of the angle was proportional to the displacement, but inversely to the wave period. And the wave height had effect on the rolling angle just in the specific range of the wave period. The force of steady wind didn't have influence on the rolling variation significantly.

        Marine casualties of fishing vessels were analyzed to reduce the sacrifice of human life using data of the Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal from 1995 to 2004 in Korea. The occurred number of fishing vessel casualties were likely to be higher portion than non-fishing vessels, but the occurring ratio of fishing vessel casualties were marked 2.96 times lower than that of non-fishing vessel casualties. The occurring ratios of bigger fishing vessel casualties were higher than smaller ones. Most marine casualties were resulted from the human factors such as poor watchkeeping, negligent action for engine and etc. The trend of marine casualties showed that the machinery damage hold the first and collision accidents took the second, but on a point of cause of them, operating errors took first and poor handling or inspection of machinery held the second place. Because those two casualties took major portion, and very important problems for safety of fishing vessels, so we ought to try to reduce the factors before everything else. In addition, since collision, sinking and capsizing in marine casualties have led to death, missing and injury of lives, it is necessary for navigation operators to take more educations and training intended to reduce the marine casualties systematically and continuously.

        Marine casualties of vessel are serious problems on social and national aspects, because it results in sacrifice of lives, a great lose of properties and marine pollution. According to recent statistics of marine casualties of vessel, fishing boats are more likely to be ended in the casualty, and especially, small fishing boats cause much more accidents than any other big vessels. Most of marine casualties were caused by the human factors such as poor watch keeping, inadequate manoeuvering and negligent action for engine, etc. This study is intended to provide navigator of small fishing boat with a specific information of necessary to assist both the manoeuvering and the avoidance of capsizing. The manoeuvering characteristics of ship can be adequately judged by the results of typical ship trials manoeuvres. For this purpose, the author measured the roll responses of a small fishing boat in waves using the real sea experimental measuring system, and analyzed the experimental data by the statistical and spectral analyzing methods to get the characteristics of the roll motion responses of the small boat through the wave directions and the ship's speed.

        This study is intended to provide navigator with specific information necessary to assist in the avoidance of collision and in operation of ships to evaluate the manoeuvrability of own ship. The actual manoeuvering characteristics of ship can be adequately judged from the results of typical ship trials manoeuvres. Author carried out sea trials based full scale for turning test, zig-zag test, spiral tests and crash-stop test at actual sea going condition. The turning circle manoeuvres were performed on starboard and port sides with 35˚ rudder angle at the service speed, and Zig-zag procedures were performed on both sides with 10˚ and 20˚ rudder angle respectively. Spiral tests were carried out on the both sides and crash stop test was also carried out. The results from tests could be compared directly with the standards of manoeuverability of IMO and consequently the manoeuvring qualities of the ship is fully satisfied with its.

        실해상 실험을 통하여 해상의 조건이 동일할 때, 예망과 항해중일 때의 만남파에 대한 소형 트롤어선의 종동요와 횡동요의 응답특성을 통계적 방법과 이론적인 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 종동요의 응답 크기를 예망중과 항해중에 따라 비교하면 큰 차이가 없으나, 선수쪽에서 파를 받을 경우에는 항해중의 응답이 예망중 보다 양각 커지는 경향이 있다. (2) 횡동요의 응답은 예망중과 항해중 모두 종동요에 비해 매우 크다. 그러한 경향은 모든파향에서 현저하지만, 횡파를 받을 경우에는 양자의 응답 차이는 줄어든다. (3) 예망중과 항해중 모두 종동요에서 응답스펙트럼의 peak가 나타나는 주기는 파향에 관계없이 거의 일정하다. (4) 선미쪽에서 파를 받고 예망할 때, 양현에 균등하게 warp의 힘이 작용한다면, 어구의 저항은 동요를 감쇄시키는 상당한 효과가 있다.

        인장계류된 원통형실린더의 동적 거동해석에 관한 일련의 연구수행 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 실린더형 부유체의 중심점을 인장계류시킨 새로운 개념의 부유식 구조물의 동적거동특성을 파악하였다. 2) 규칙파에서도 부유체와 테더(tether), 입사파의 상호간섭으로 인한 운동특성을 해석하였다. 3) 비선형유체력(2w, 3w)으로 인한 비선형 운동 응답 특성을 분석하였다. 4) 테더강성(tether stiffness)의 결정에 있어서 부유체와의 상호간섭 효과 뿐만 아니라 고주파수 영역에서의 공진을 충분히 고려하여 결정해야 한다. 5) 구조물의 설계시 Surge mode에서는 장주기 표류운동을 발생시키므로 Set down 등의 현상을 고려해야 한다.

        The steady drift forces on a barge in waves are investigated. The steady drift forces due to a near-field method which is based on direct integration of the pressure acting on the submerged surface of barge are compared with those due to far-field method which is based on the theory of momentum conservation. Numerical results of the linear motions are compared with the experimental and numercal ones which was submitted in the literature. A convergence of the steady drift forces according to the increase of the number of panels which represent the submerged surface are discussed.

        해양구조물의 가동해역이 대수심으로 이동함에 따라 해저파이프라인 및 해저케이블은 육지보다 열악한 시공 환경에 놓이게 된다. 이때 해저지반상태와 해상조건 등은 작업효율에 영향을 미치게 되며 단시간에 효율적인 시공이 필요하다. 본 논문은 해저지반 굴삭을 위해 ROV(Remotely Operated Vehicle) 트렌쳐에 장착되는 워터젯 굴삭기의 시공성능 추정에 관한 연구이다. 먼저 전산유체해석을 통해 노즐간의 거리와 노즐 분사각도를 고려하여 굴삭효율을 극대화할 수 있는 최적 노즐수량을 선정하였고, 모형실험을 수행하여 굴삭기의 시공성능을 유추 할 수 있는 최대 굴삭심도와 최대 굴삭속도를 파악하였다. 이를 토대로 실제 운용중인 워터젯 굴삭장비와 비교분석하여 워터젯 장비의 효율성 을 확인하였다.

        입자영상속도계(PIV)의 해석에 웨이블릿 변환을 적용하여 정성적인 유동정보뿐만 아니라 공간분해능을 갖는 정량적인 속도장 정보를 제공하고 있다 이 기법은 기포유동(bubbly flow)과 같은 다상(multi-phase)의 유동구조를 해석하는 데도 유용하게 살일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기체와 액체의 이상유동(two-pase flow)에 PIV기법을 적용하고 이산 웨이블릿 변환을 사용하여 유장해석을 수행함으로써, 기포를 포함한 속도장 특성과 유동특성을 조사한다.

        선박의 선형시험설비로는 회류수조, 예인수조 등이 있으나, 소형 고속선박은 실선 대응 모형선의 축적비가 대형선에 비해 매우 작고 수조의 유속과 예인전차의 속도제한으로 고속선의 설계선속까지의 성능검증에는 한계로 작용하였다. 이에, 고속 활주형선의 선형시험 검증을 위해 실 해상모형시험기법을 정립하였다. 한편, 고속 Stepped Hull선형은 일체형 활주형 선저선형에 비하여 고속 주행시 공기공급에 따른 접수면 감소로 인하여 저항감소에 따른 속도향상과 연비절감 효과가 있으나, 선미 좌우측의 접수면 감소에 따른 횡동요 안정성이 감소되는 경향이 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 고속 선형시험이 가능한 해상모형시험을 이용하여 선미 보조동체 장착 유무에 따른 고속 Stepped Hull 선형의 횡동요 및 저항특성을 비교, 분석한 것이다.

        계류된 선박의 시뮬레이션을 위해 조종방정식을 사용하였고, 파 중의 선박에 가해지는 파강제력은 3차원 특이점 분포법에서 얻어진 주파수 전달함수로부터 시간영역해석법을 적용하였다. 운동을 유발하는 입사파의 주기와 동일한 선형 파강제력과 성분파 주파수의 차이에 기인하는 장주기 표류력을 외력항에 고려하였다. 규칙파와 불규칙 중에서의 선박의 거동을 비교하여 계류 중 선박에 발생할 수 있는 SLEW MOTION에 불규칙파 및 비선형 파강제력이 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다.

        연안 경비함정의 선상근무 환경은 육상근무 환경에 비하여 매우 열악하여 선상근무 기피와 선원 고령화의 원인이 되고 있다. 특히 선박내 공기오염과 전자파는 직업병을 유발시키는 원인이 된다. 따라서 안락한 선상근무 환경 및 거주 환경의 확보를 통하여 선상근무 피로도를 경감시키는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 선박내의 공기오염과 전자파의 실선 계측을 통하여 선상근무 환경을 체계적으로 평가한다. 그리고 선상근무 환경의 평가 결과에 기초하여 선상근무 피로도 경감대책을 제안한다.

        It is very important to investigate the hull response of a fishing vessel in waves to ensure the safe navigation and fishing operation in rough seas by preserving excellent seakeeping qualities. For this purpose, we measured pitching and rolling response of three fishing vessels in seas using real seas experimental measuring system and analyzed the data by statisticawl and spectral analyzing method. We compared the measured results with theoretical results to give the validity of measuring system and experimental results. From the result we know that a good agreement between the experimental and theoretical results are shown except following seas. But there are little difference between both results in the other deirection too, which are caused by the effects of short crested waves of real seas.

        In the field of research of seakeeping quality, much development has been made incent years using the method of calculation based on the strip theory. It is indispensable to grasp quantitatively the seaworthiness of a ship in order to draw correct design at initial stage and to perform proper operations at sea services. In this paper, the responses of three fishing vessels are calculated using statistical and spectral analyzing method to get the characteristics of the motion response. From the theoretical result we know that the significant values of the pitching and rolling motion can be signiicantly affected by not only the ship's tonnage but also the mean wave period in spite of the similar sea environment. So we can apply these expected results to the safe maneuvering and fishing operations in rough weather conditions by combining environmental circumstance with the stability condition of vessels.

        It is important to investigate the hull response of a fishing vessel in waves to ensure the safety of it and to keep excellent sea-keeping qualities. For this purpose, we measured the response of fishing vessels in waves using real sea experimental measuring system. We analyze the experimental data by statistical method and spectral analysis to get the characteristics of the response of vessels which have different tonnage. In this real sea experiment, we use three stern trawlers which are the training ship in university. We know that the distribution of experimental response have Gauss distribution and Rayleigh distribution and smaller vessels have larger response.
