The fundamental objectives of vessel traffic services (VTS) are the safety of traffic, efficient traffic flow and the protection of marine environment. And the coverge of VTS is used to be within the port and their approaches. It , however, is tend to expand the coverge beyond the radar coverage and the vessel carrying dangerous cargo. Therefore this study aims to investigate the international tendancy of the extended VTS system, and take a field test of using KOREASAT for the extended VTS system in Korean coastal waters. As the results of the test, KOREASAT is proved to be one of the alternatives for extended VTS system.

There is a limitation for a ship which is sailing on sea to gather weather and seastate informations. To make up for this weakness, land organizations can gather wider variety of information and evaluate the seakeeping performanceon ship. And supply this information to the ship. In this study, calculated the response amplitude of shp motions with the weather information provided in real time, the nominal speed loss with obtaining increase of resistance caused by wave and stochastic process of the seakeeping performance elements. And the results have been achieved to develop a system which can evaluate the synthetic seakeeping performance. Using this system, the results have been studied to determine the feasibility of using simulation in actural operation onboard ship.

Approximate design formulse for bandpass filter using stepped microstrip lines are derived. The coupling length of which can be adjusted according to the factor K.Some advantages fo this filter, thus, are the abilities to control the size and shape by changing the structure of the resonator. Using the design formulas an experimental filter was designed and fabricated . The experimental results have been agree with the designed ones, and hence, the validity of the proposed method has been confirmed.

CATV(Cable Television) 및 MATV(Master Antenna TV) 시스템용 신호분기기(Tap-Off)의 광대역설계법을 새로운 방법으로 제안한다. 먼저 결합선로형 방향성결합기의 이론을 도입하여 변성기형 방향성결합기에 적용하여 해석하였다. 제안한 해석방법의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션한 결과와 실험결과를 비교 검토하였고 전송선로의 임피던스를 매칭시켜 반사계수 20dB, isolation 25dB(5∼1600MHz)을 만족하는 신호분기기(14dB)의 광대역화(5∼2150MHz)를 실현하였다.

Recently , there have been considerable researches about the fusion of fuzzy logic and neural networks. The propose of thise researches is to combine the advantages of both. After the function of approximation using GMDP (Generalized Multi-Denderite Product)neural network for defuzzification operation of fuzzy controller, a new fuzzy-neural network is proposed. Fuzzy membership function of the proposed fuzzy-neural network can be adjusted by learning in order to be adaptive to the variations of a parameter or the external environment. To show the applicability of the proposed fuzzy-nerual network, the proposed model is applied to a speed control o fDC sevo motor. By the hardware implementation, we obtained the desriable results.

This study aims at suggesting a concepturla model of personnel elitism, and at evaluating the model based on a shipping company case. Specifically, it asks whether the company has met the conditions nessary for the attainment of personnel litism prescribed by the conceptural model. In order to evalutate the model, questionnaire and interview methods were adopted. The area of survey includes the quality of personnel , the efficiency level of work processes. and the level of work load. This study concludes that the rationalization of work processes and training and development of personnel are necessary for a company to realize personnel elitism.

The purpose of this study was to explorei the nature of the relationship between several factors representing shipping service quality enumerated in the service marketing literature and the adaptability to the marketing strategy of container shipping firm. An empirical study was carried out to examine not only the determinants of shipping service quality but also ists implications to the service marketing strategy. The data investigating the deteminants of shipping service quality were collected from Korean Multimodal Company , Shipping Freight Forwarders. Exploratory Factor analysis was carried out to analyze the data.

On this paper, the methods of optimization research of the fishing navigation using the graph theory are substantiated on the basis of the proposed probable model of the fishing vessel navigator's activity. The graph theory is concered about the transitionform the top graph to the rib one. And the definition of the additional system elements (quasi elements) necessary to provide the effectiveness during the fishing navigation are also substantiated herein. This approach helps to optimize the structure of any fishing vessel monitoring system.

In the field of research of seakeeping quality, much development has been made incent years using the method of calculation based on the strip theory. It is indispensable to grasp quantitatively the seaworthiness of a ship in order to draw correct design at initial stage and to perform proper operations at sea services. In this paper, the responses of three fishing vessels are calculated using statistical and spectral analyzing method to get the characteristics of the motion response. From the theoretical result we know that the significant values of the pitching and rolling motion can be signiicantly affected by not only the ship's tonnage but also the mean wave period in spite of the similar sea environment. So we can apply these expected results to the safe maneuvering and fishing operations in rough weather conditions by combining environmental circumstance with the stability condition of vessels.

It is very important to investigate the hull response of a fishing vessel in waves to ensure the safe navigation and fishing operation in rough seas by preserving excellent seakeeping qualities. For this purpose, we measured pitching and rolling response of three fishing vessels in seas using real seas experimental measuring system and analyzed the data by statisticawl and spectral analyzing method. We compared the measured results with theoretical results to give the validity of measuring system and experimental results. From the result we know that a good agreement between the experimental and theoretical results are shown except following seas. But there are little difference between both results in the other deirection too, which are caused by the effects of short crested waves of real seas.
