선박설계의 과정에서의 설계변수가 건조된 선박의 운항경제성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 대상선박은 산적화물선으로하였고, 전통적인 설계방식을 전산화하였고, 건조비는 국내의 대형조선소의 경우로 하였다. 경제성검토기준은 貨物運負率 (Required Freight Rate, Unit: U.S.D./Ton)를 사용하였다. 계산결과의 비교를 용이하게 하기위하여 션박의 주요치수는 무차원화하였다. 재화용량, 주요치수, 선형계수등이 운항비에 주는 영향으로 인하여 유가가 상승되면 속장비가 크고 속 력이 비교적 작은 선박이 경제적으로 우수한것으로 판단되었다. 이 프로그램은 조선소의 수주와 선주의 경영에도 많은 도움이 될것으로 생각된다.

Shortening the lasing wavelength(particularly below infrared ; the visible region) of laser diodes is very attractive because it can provide a wide range of applications in the fields of optical information, measurement, sensor, the development of medical instrument, and optical communication through plastic fibers. According to the recent researches on the field, InGaAsP/GaAs was suggested as a material for red-light laser. In this study, in order to grow InGaAsP/GaAs epitaxial layer on InGaAsP/GaAs by LPE, we used GaP and InP two phase solution technique for 670nm and 780 nm region, respectively. Through the X-ray diffraction measurement for the epitaxial layer grown from the experiments, we found that the lattice mismatch of In0.46Ga0.54As0.07P0.93/GaAs and In0.19Ga0.81As0.62P0.38/GaAs was about +0.3% and +0.1%, respectively.

According to newly revised Korean Commercial Law, 1991, several amendments on the maritime liens as a special legislative rights duly performed so as to make an equity with mortgates of the ship. Consequently, it is also noteworthy that claimants of the maritime lien should know how to secure their legal rights on the ship. Such a legal practice is performing in accordance with the doctrine and principles of the law of forciable excution without court order. This paper, therefore, intends to study specific legal practice for exercising legal rights on the ship by due process of law.

It is, as everyone knows, very important for human beings to protect and conserve marine environment. We has believed the ocean is so wide and deep that it cannot be polluted. But it has begun to doubt the capacity of self-purification of the ocean due to pollution arising from marine casualities. It has proved that semi-enclosed sea is likely to be polluted and cannot be restored easily once pollution occurs. Therefore, first of all it is important to take preventive measures for prevention of marine pollution in the semi-enclosed sea like the Yellow Sea. Many of regional conventions for prevention of marine pollution have come into existence. this dissertation was set out for the fact that the Yellow Sea is semi-enclosed sea which is vulnerable to marine pollution. It is desirable not to deal with marine preservation of the Yellow Sea by a single exclusively but to deal with it by cooperation of all coastal states under the present circumstances. I proposed a program of regional cooperation to protect and conserve the Yellow Sea. This program must be progressed with gradual arrangements. First, they must establist a basic cooperation committee to work basic affairs on the protection of marine environment within the Yellow Sea. The Committee Mainly play parts of study and research concerned with pollution of the Yellow Sea in the non-governmental side and consist of legal and scientific experts. Second, they must establish the control Committee to prevent marine pollution of the Yellow Sea substantially. There is a reason that regional cooperation cannot be directly concluded with the regional tready. Because there is a problem of Recognition of States left. In principle, a subject of tready must be a state in the International Law. But they have not made Recognition of State which is demanded by International Law between North and South Koreas. Therefore, the Control committee must play a substantial part of prevention from pollution instead of the treaty. Finally, we concluded tentatively named 「Convention on Regional Cooperation for Protection of Marine Environment of the Yellow Sea from Pollution」 if the matter is settled which is related to Recognition of States in the International Law.

GMDSS-the Global Maritime Distress and Safety system which is utilizing the new technologies such as satellite communication system, DSC and NBCP-is effectuated not only by the amendment of SOLAS but also by the conference of RR and IMO's MSC, and will be the major factor of the variation of the demand and supply of Radio Operators. To cope with the GMDSS voluntarily, regulations relating to the radio installation, the posting of Radio Operators, the bounds of duty, etc. must be established and the demand and supply of Radio Operators which take charge of the system must be accomplished pertinently. In this study, the authors suggested some practical schemes to improve the effect of policy as follow. 1. The Ministry of Communication must supervise strictly the arrangement of Radio Operators, especially relating tot he legally qualified complement of Radio Station, and must review the official certification system to upgrade the quality of Radio Operators. 2. The Ministry of Communication must take overall charge of the qualitifications and technical standards of Radio Operators, the extent of their engagement, etc. which are provided by International Regulations. 3. Relating Administrations must cooperate with Shipping Companies in onboard-training to foster and ensure the manpower of Radio Operators. 4. Institutional devices to drive the resolute investment in education and training for mariners, especially for the ship's officers, must be prepared. 5. The Communication Administration and the Korea Maritime and Port Adminstration(KMPA) must cooperate mutually in the balance of the demand and supply of Radio Operators and use make their best to realize more harmonious policies on the demand and supply of manpower.
