The coaxial sample holder with 20mm in diameter and the adaptor from type N connector-to-20mmΦ coaxial tube are designed and manufactured which have been used for designing and measuring the fabricated microwave absorber. In addition, the measure in method of material constants of the microwave absorbers is described, which is focused on minimizing the error due to the sample's shapes, the fitting conditions, etc. After describing the design method of a single-layed microwave absorber, the microwave absorbers for X-band, C-band and S-band RADARs are designed and fabricated, respectively, which are composed of ferrite, carborn, and binder and have good performance. Futhermore, we develop the high performance microwave absorber in extremely wide-band type for RADAR, which is composed of different material and its mixing ratio and which could cover nearly from 4 to 10 GHz.
It is of great importance for any vessel under way, especially in rough sea, to be maneuvered safely with proper seakeeping performance. In this paper, the author aims to develope a navigational safety evaluation system in rough sea by analyzing ship's with the theory of wave spectrum using random process analysis and the theory of evaluating the seakeeping performance. The scope and the method of this study are as follows ; (1) Modelized typhoon mathematically to represent the sea condition in rough sea. (2) Estimated sea conditions by getting wave spectrum, supposing that the wave by typhoon is fully developed short crest irregular wave. (3) Defined evaluation factor of vessel's seakeeping performance and obtained response amplitude operators thereby. (4) Obtained the response spectrum of factors on seakeeping performance. (5) Defined and obtained evaluation index, dangerousness, relative and maximum dangerousness of factors on seakeeping performance. (6) Analyzed the calculated dangerousness of evaluation index and picked the vertical acceleration out of 7 factors as the presentative factor on seakeeping performance. (7) Carrid out the judgement of danger by obtaining dangerousness value according to steaming hour, course alteration and speed change. By synthesizing the above items, the authors suggests a computer model of navigational safety evaluation system and examined the validity of the model by computer simulation.
In general, marine casualities take palace by the composite action of three elements such as waterway condition, vessel condition and man condition. One of the important characteristics of most marie casualties for small cargo vessels in maritime transportation of near-coastal and greater-coasting seas in that the same kind of casualities take place repeatedly in spite of the apprent causes, Because, it takes much time and effort for seamen to master waterway, vessel or operatin technique only to the practical and sensible level. In these days, with the development of our economy, our shiypping industry has grown and therefore the demand of marine officers has increased. This economic growth brought about undesirable situation like the evasion of seamen and frequent casualities of Korea vessels. These marine casualities are being caused mainly by the unskilfulness of operating technique as well as the bad waterway condition and ship's installation condition. Therefore, I conclude, in this paper, that the most efficient and economic preventing measures of marine casualities are seeking causes and removing them in advance under the close coperation system among all concerned parties.
This paper aims to investigated the origins and characteristics of flags of convenience(FOC) with International Ship Register(ISR), which was recently adopted by a few Western Europe countries(for example, Norway, U.K., France) and to compare FOC with ISR in terms of shipping policy, ship management, and expenses, and tax policy.
