        Skin serves as an easily accessible source of multipotent stem cells with potential for cellular therapies. In pigs, stem cells from skin tissues of fetal and adult origins have been demonstrated as either floating spheres (cell aggregates) or adherent spindle-shaped mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-like cells depending on culture conditions. The cells isolated from the epidermis and dermis of porcine skin showed plastic adherent growth in the presence of serum and positively expressed a range of surface and intracellular markers that are considered to be specific for MSCs. The properties of primitive stem cells have been observed with the expression of alkaline phosphatase and markers related to pluripotency. Further, studies have shown the ability of skin-derived MSCs to differentiate in vitro along mesodermal, neuronal and germ-line lineages. Moreover, preclinical studies have also been performed to assess their in vivo potential, and the findings appear to be effective in tissue regeneration at the defected site after transplantation. The present review describes the recent progress on the biological features of porcine skin-derived MSCs as adherent cells, and summarizes their potential in advancing stem cell based therapies.

        메이크업 및 분장 시뮬레이션 시스템은 컴퓨터를 이용하여 가상으로 메이크업을 수행하는 시스템으로,일반 사용자들은 자신의 얼굴에 가상으로 다양한 화장품을 적용함으로써 자신에게 어울리는 화장품 및메이크업 스타일을 간편하게 시뮬레이션 해볼 수 있다. 이러한 메이크업 시뮬레이션 시스템에서는 정확한 화장품의 컬러 표현이 가장 중요한 요소이다. 하지만 현재 메이크업 시뮬레이션 시스템에서는 화장품 선택 시 사용자의 얼굴 피부색은 반영되지 않고 화장품의 컬러만 덧씌우는 형태로 자연스럽지 못한결과를 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 메이크업 시뮬레이션상에서 피부색을 반영하여 자연스럽게 화장품의컬러를 나타내는 실감 컬러 재현을 위해, 다양한 종류의 화장품에 대한 측색을 통하여 화장품의 종류에따른 색상분포를 분석하였고, 실제 피부색에 대하여 화장품을 적용하기 전과 후의 스펙트럼 측정을 통하여 피부색에 화장품이 적용된 후 컬러 변화에 대한 분석이 이루어졌다. 또한 화장품을 혼합하여 사용할 경우 정확한 혼합 결과를 모델링하기 위한 방법을 제시하였다. 모델링한 결과와 실제 화장품 혼합 결과를 스펙트럼 측정 후 비교한 결과, 오차값이 ΔEab6이하로 실제 컬러와 유사한 컬러를 모델링 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

        Of many approaches to reduce motion analysis errors, the compensation method of anatomical landmarks estimates the position of anatomical landmarks during motion. The method models the position of anatomical landmarks with joint angle or skin marker displacement using the data of the so-called dynamic calibration in which anatomical landmark positions are calibrated in ad hoc motions. Then the anatomical landmark positions are calibrated in target motions using the model. This study applies the compensation methods with joint angle and skin marker displacement to three lower extremity motions (walking, sit-to-stand/ stand-to-sit, and step up/down) in ten healthy males and compares their performance. To compare the performance of the methods, two sets of kinematic variables were calculated using different two marker clusters, and the difference was obtained. Results showed that the compensation method with skin marker displacement had less differences by 30~60% compared to without compensation. And, it had significantly less difference in some kinematic variables (7 of 18) by 25~40% compared to the compensa- tion method with joint angle. This study supports that compensation with skin marker displacement reduced the motion analysis STA errors more reliably than with joint angle in lower extremity motion analysis.

        피부색 정보는 컬러 영상에 포함된 얼굴 영역 또는 피부색 영역을 검출하는데 있어 중요한 요소이다. 일반적으로 피부색 정보로부터 통계 피부색 모델을 이용하여 피부색 영역을 검출한다. 하지만 영상에 피부색에 해당하는 색이 포함되어 있는 컬러 영상에서는 일반적인 통계 피부색 모델만으로 정확한 피부색영역을 검출할 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다른 피부색 부분이 포함되어 있는 다양한 컬러 영상에서피부색 영역만을 정확히 검출하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 RGB, YCbCr, HSI 피부컬러 모델을 기반으로 각 모델을 이용한 피부색 검출율을 가중치로 사용하여 얼굴 후보 영역을 설정하였다. 또한 영상내의 피부색 영역이외의 부분을 제거하기 위하여 영상에서의 관심영역을 계산하여 얼굴 후보 영역과 관심영역을 동시에 만족하는 피부색을 찾음으로써 피부색을 배경으로 가지는 컬러영상에서 정확한 피부색검출을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 제안한 방법이 유사한 피부색을 포함한 영상에서 우수한 피부색 검출 성능을 보였다.

        본 연구에서는 CCl4 존재하에서 Cl2(g) and ultra violet(200~300nm) 파장으로 maleic anhydride 와 Cl2(g)을 반응시켜 α,β-dichlorosuccinic acid 를 합성하였다. 그리고 두 번째 반응은 N-(α,β-dichloro)succinic acid 함유 glucosamine 유도체(I)를 합성하는 것으로 methanol 함유 2% acetic acid 용매 하에서 glucosamine과 과량의 α,β-dichlorosuccinic anhydride을 넣은 후 온도를 70℃로 올리면서 반응시켰다. 우리는 합성한 유기산 유도체들이 해태 김 재배와 피부미용에 주로 유용하게 활용할 것으로 본다.

        Proper skin care promotes good metabolism and the biological activity of skin, helps maintain the skin in a healthy and beautiful state when combined with nutritional nourishment. Health functional foods are being used for the purpose of enhancing efficient skin care. Health functional foods related to skin care maintain the epidermis, dermal fibroblast layer and subcutaneous tissue that form the skin. Efficient functional foods alleviate the signs of endogenous aging that come with getting older and exogenous aging caused by sunlight. Even though the field of skin care related to health functional foods has received less attention and been the subject of less research compared to functional cosmetics which are developing widely, this area of skin care that maintains and improves the layer of dermal fibroblast through the intake of food, is expected to progress with the commercialization of products in many fields when the related technical research development is galvanized and the related patents are applied for. Research into health functional foods related to skin care in Korea started rather late in comparison to other advanced countries where patents for relevant techniques have been applied for since 1990's together with research conducted on how they might be used for practical purposes. This study used the key words ‘skin care, health functional food’ to search for Korean patents that have been applied for at the Korean Intellectual Property Office from 1983 to 2011 using the KIPRIS database, in order to help researchers in the related fields by organizing the patented formulas for health functional foods for skin care which have gained attention recently. According to the number of registrations in each industry field, the total number of patents was 1, 120 we screened the major patents among them, the field with the largest number was food foodstuff non-alcoholic beverage and preparation or treatment(A23L) with 135, then natural plant medicine & medical supplies and cosmetics(A61K) with 112, microorganisms or enzymes(C12N) with 63, heterocyclic compounds(C07D) with 44, horticulture or cultivation of sea weeds, forestry(A01G) 16 times, listed from the highest to the lowest number of applications. It has been revealed that food, foodstuff, non-alcoholic beverage and preparation or treatment(A23L) was the industry field where the most patents for health functional foods related to skin care were registered.

        This study was designed to evaluate to acute oral toxicity and skin irritation of Chrysanthemum dye in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. SD rats were orally treated with Chrysanthemum dye at a dose of 0, 1 and 2 ml/kg body weight. After oral administration, the rats were observed for 14days. In primary skin irritation test, SD rats were dermally treated with Chrysanthemum dye and observed for 3 days. To ensure the safety of Chrysanthemum dye such as the following were observed and tested. We examined the body weight, the feed intake, the clinical signs, the ophthalmological test, the histopathological test, the mortality and skin irritation. As a result, no significant differences were found in body weight, feed intake and histopathological test between control and Chrysanthemum dye treated group. In the result of skin irritation test, Chrysanthemum dye did not induce erythema and edema after topical application. Primary irritation index was “0” in the test. Therefore, it is suggested that Chrysanthemum dye has no effect on acute toxicity and side effect in SD rats and is non-irritant material based on the score “0” of primary irritation index.

        본 연구에서는 교량기초 말뚝의 부주면마찰력 시험을 통하여 연약지반에 타설된 강관말뚝의 부주면마찰력을 측정하였으며 장기적인 마찰응력의 관측시험을 통하여 경제적인 상부구조물 시공시기를 판단하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. (1) 연약지반에서 부마착력의 크기는 침하속도가 클수록 크게 나타났다. (2) 마찰력의 관계 그래프에서 마찰응력의 증감이 없는 시기를 확인하여 상부구조물 시공시기를 판단할 수 있었다. (3) 말뚝정재하시험결과와 부주면마찰력 시험결과를 비교해 본 결과 항타 직후의 부주면마찰력은 재하시험 시의 마찰응력보다 크게 나오는 것으로 판단되며 15일 경과후의 측정값은 비슷하게 나오는 것으로 판단되었고, 이론식에 의한 결과와도 비슷하였다. (4) 부주면마찰력의 장기관측기법을 사용하면 부주면마찰력이 발생하고 있는 중이라도 적절한 상부구조물의 시공시기를 파악할 수 있어 경제적인 시공관리가 가능한 것으로 판단된다.

        많은 연구에서 정서 특정적 생리 반응을 밝히기 위하여 심박률, 혈류량, 피부전도 반응 등의 지표를 사용하였으나, 안면온도를 이용한 정서 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구는 적외선 열화상을 통해 공포 및 기쁨 자극에 대한 안면온도 변화를 관찰하고자 한다. 98명의 대학생과 중고생을 대상으로 공포 또는 기쁨을 유발하는 자극을 제시하기 전과 후의 안면온도를 측정하였다. 온도값은 이마, 눈앞, 콧등, 코끝, 그리고 뺨에서 추출하였다. 공포자극을 제시한 조건에서는 콧등과 코끝의 온도가 유의하게 낮아졌다. 기쁨 자극을 제시한 조건에서는 이마, 눈앞의 온도 상승이 유의하였으며, 코끝에서 온도가 유의하게 낮아졌다. 두 조건에서 코의 온도가 유의하게 낮아졌는데, 이는 공포 또는 기쁨을 경험할 때 각성수준이 증가하여 코 혈관의 혈류량이 감소함으로써 온도가 낮아진 것으로 볼 수 있다. 공포나 기쁨을 경험할 때 나타나는 온도 변화는 정서를 경험할 때 손가락온도를 측정한 선행 연구결과와 일치한다. 이런 연구결과는 정서 측정기법의 개발과, 인간의 정서를 탐지하는 컴퓨터 시스템의 기초를 확립하는데 기여하는 바가 있을 것이다.

        The anti-inflammatory effect of PHBV/Collagen (PHCP) was examined in a mouse model of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced skin inflammation. Vascular permeability on the back skin was measured by the local accumulation of Evan’s blue dye after subcutaneous injection of LPS (30 µg site-1 ). Dye leakage in the skin showed a significant increase at 2 h after injection of LPS. This LPS-induced dye leakage was also completely inhibited by HO-1 inhibitor, ZnPP, and antioxidants, including methyl gallate, trolox, and mannitol. To study the possible mechanisms underlying the in vivo anti-inflammatory effect of PHCP against LPS-induced inflammation, we also examined the effects of PHCP on malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione levels in skin tissues and found that pretreatment with PHCP resulted in inhibited MDA elevation and a remarkable reduction of glutathione level. In addition, similar results were obtained after pretreatment with antioxidants, including trolox and mannitol, and HO-1 inhibitor, ZnPP. Histopathologically, an influx of neutrophils into the skin dermis was detected between 24 h and 72 h after LPS injection (30, 100 µg site-1), compared to control animals after injection of saline. This increase was greater in mice treated with 100 µg of LPS than in those treated with 30 µg of LPS and was significantly suppressed by pretreatment with PHCP, antioxidants, and HO-1 inhibitor. These results collectively suggest that PHCP has an anti-inflammatory effect against LPS-induced inflammation model in vivo and may be a good candidate for the skin tissue engineering biomedical application primarily through manipulation of the redox state.

        Experiments were conducted in order to assess the healing effect of bee venom (BV) cream on full-thickness skin wounds in rabbits. BV cream was compared with silver sulfadiazine (SS) as a topical medicament against a control on experimentally created full-thickness wounds. Two wounds measuring 2 × 2 cm were created bilaterally (four wounds/rabbit) on the dorsolateral aspect of the trunk of seven New Zealand white rabbits. Wound treatments were evenly distributed on four sites, using a Latin square design. The contact layer of wounds was treated with physiological saline (control), SS cream, and BV cream over a period of 28 days. Assessment of wound healing was based on scab hardness, wound exudates, wound area, unepithelialized granulation tissue, and histopathological findings. Topical application of BV and SS creams to wounds resulted in reduced inflammation, debridement of necrotic tissue, and promoted granulation and epithelialization. Wound healing was faster, with statistical significance in BV and SS treatments, compared to the control (P<0.05). Treatment with BV evoked an anti-inflammation effect in a rabbit model. BV cream produced a wound healing effect similar to that of commercially available SS cream. Anti-inflammation effect as a topical treatment with BV cream appears to be better than that with SS cream. These results suggest that topical application of BV cream may be an alternative treatment for full-thickness skin wounds.

        This test was performed to evaluate the acute oral toxicity and skin irritation of Lamia-Kill®, disinfectant,containing 20% benzalkonium chloride and 10% citric acid. In acute oral toxicity, Lamia-Kill® was orally administered at dose levels of 2,000, 1,000, 500, 250 and 0 mg/kg body weight. After single oral administration to both sexes of SD rats, the rats were observed for 14 days. In primary skin irritation test, New Zealand white rabbits were dermally treated with Lamia-Kill® for 24 hr and observed for 3 days. All rats treated with Lamia-Kill® were induced no toxic signs in mortalities, clinical findings, body weights and gross findings. Also, the disinfectant did not induce any adverse reactions such as erythema and edema on intact skin sites for the most part rabbits, but on abraded skin sites, some rabbits showed very slight erythema on 24 hr after topical application. With the results of this study,Lamia-Kill® have no effect on acute toxicity and side effect in SD rats and was classified as a practically non-irritating material based on the score 0.50 of primary irritation index.

        In vitro 항산화 활성을 갖는 율피 추출물의 향장 소재 특성을 조사하였다. 율피로부터의 다양한 추출물 중 총 페놀성 화합물 함량은 60% 메탄올 추출물 및 에틸아세테이트 분획물이 각각 164.82 및 191.14 mg/g으로 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 상기 두 분획물에 의한 in vitro 항산화 활성(DPPH radical scavenging activity, lipid peroxidation 저해)은 농도 의존적으로 증가한다는 것을 확인하였다. 상기 두 분획물은 UV-B(290-320 nm) 영역에서 강한 UV 흡수도를 보여주었다. 특히, 율피 유래 두 분획물은 1000 μg/mL에서 42.88 및 33.02%의 elastase 저해 활성을 나타내어 우수한 주름 개선 특성을 가지는 것을 보여주었다. 아울러, 율피로부터의 60% 메탄올 추출물 및 에틸아세테이트 분획물은 피부 상재균에 대하 여서도 항균 활성을 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 율피에서 추출될 수 있는 물질이 향장 산업 소재로서 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하는 것으로 판단된다.

        유비쿼터스 헬스케어 기술 및 휴대용 전자기기의 발전은 지속적으로 전원을 공급하기 위한 새로운 에너지원을 요구하고 있으며, 이러한 점에서 의류를 통한 인체 에너지 수확 시스템의 연구가 요청되고 있다. 인체에너지를 수확하는 방식의 하나인 열전은 인체와 주위 환경간의 온도차이로부터 에너지를 수확하는 방식으로, 본 연구에서 의복을 통한 열전에너지 수확의 기초자료를 확보하기 위하여 인체표면 온도의 분포를 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 체표 구간을 설정하고 구간별 온도분포를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 상체의 체표온도가 하체에 비해 높았고 특히 심장과 가깝고 혈류량이 많은 몸통 부위의 체표온도가 높았다. 뒷목과 등, 허리의 후면 부위 체표온도가 앞면에 비해 높았으며, 팔 부위의 경우 위쪽 부위의 체표온도가 아래쪽 부위보다 높고 팔 후면이 정면과 측면에 비해 온도가 낮게 나타났다. 체표 구간별 평균 온도와 환경온 간의 차이값이 가장 높아 열전 수확 기능구조 설치에 가장 적합한 위치는 뒷목 부위로 나타났고, 등과 허리 부위, 측면 어깨부위, 가슴 부위, 정면 위팔 부위, 배 부위가 그 뒤를 이었다. 이러한 인체표면 온도분포 결과를 토대로, 본 연구에서는 열에너지 수확의류 개발을 위한 기본 지침을 도출하였다.

This paper presents a new model to assess naturalness based on three dimensional color space. Experimental results indicate that the proposed model outperforms three previous models proposed for the naturalness assessment.

        To develope new natural substances for whitening agent, Baeckji(Angelica dahuria;BK), Seasin(Asarum sieboldii;SS). Baecjgangjam(Bombycis corpus;BGJ) and Mynkanbang(MKB) were selected and extracted by hot water and 70% EtOH, respectively. Hydrothermal and ethanolic extracts of BK, SS, BGJ and MKB were evaluated for anti-oxidative effect, tyrosinase activity, melanogenesis of B16 melanoma cells and changes in level of tyrosinase expression by using Western blotting. All hydrothermal and ethanolic extracts showed scavenging activities of free radicals against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) but no inhibitory effect on tyrosinase activity. Ethanolic extracts of BK, SS, and BGJ and especially highly, those of MKB inhibited production of melanin in B16 melanoma cells and were able to reduce the level of tyrosinase expression in B16 melanoma cells. These results suggest that ethanolic extracts of BK, SS, BGJ and MKB can be an effective whitening agent from natural plant.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the secondary tasks such as sending text message (STM) and searching navigation (SN) on skin conductance level (SCL) during driving. The participants included 29 taxi drivers; 14 males aged 56.7 ± 4.3 with 29.7 ± 7.0 years of driving experiences and 15 females aged 55.5 ± 3.5 with 20.1 ± 5.7 years of driving experiences. All subjects were instructed to keep a certain distance (30m) from the car ahead and a constant speed (80km/h or 100km/h). SCL was measured during driving only and driving with secondary tasks. SCL was more increased during the driving with secondary tasks than driving only. By increasing the driving speed, SCL was increased during the driving with secondary taks. Secondary tasks increased an activation of sympathetic nerve system. However, there were no significant differences in the SCL according to gender.

        Threelectrodes systems were used in stripping voltammetry (SW) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) instead of the expensive platinum and Ag/AgCl reference electrodes. Moreover, the electrolyte solution was used with deep seawater, which can reduce water pollution, is more eco-friendly, and has a lower cost. The analytical optimum parameters measured via CV and SW and with working ranges were obtained from 10 to 80 ug/L using fluorine immobilized on a graphite pencil electrode (FE). Under the optimum conditions, the analytical detection limit of 6.30 ug/LAu was obtained. The results of the study can be applied to diagnostic assay for natural minerals and human finger tissue.
