        This paper aimed at modeling a fine triangular grid for network dome by using Harmony Search (HS) algorithm. For this purpose, an optimization process to find a fine regular triangular mesh on the curved surface was proposed and the analysis program was developed. An objective function was consist of areas and edge's length of each triangular and its standard deviations, and design variables were subject to the upper and lower boundary which was calculated on the nodal connectivity. Triangular network dome model, which was initially consist of randomly irregular triangular mesh, was selected for the target example and the numerical result was analyzed in accordance with the HS parameters. From the analysis results of adopted model, the fitness function has been converged and the optimized triangular grid could be obtained from the initially distorted network dome example.

        PURPOSES : The Toll Collection System (TCS) operated by the Korea Expressway Corporation provides accurate traffic counts between tollgates within the expressway network under the closed-type toll collection system. However, although origin-destination (OD) matrices for a travel demand model can be constructed using these traffic counts, these matrices cannot be directly applied because it is technically difficult to determine appropriate passenger car equivalent (PCE) values for the vehicle types used in TCS. Therefore, this study was initiated to systematically determine the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types for the travel demand model. METHODS: To search for the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types, a traffic demand model based on TCS-based OD matrices and the expressway network was developed. Using the traffic demand model and a genetic algorithm, the appropriate PCE values were optimized through an approach that minimizes errors between actual link counts and estimated link volumes. RESULTS : As a result of the optimization, the optimal PCE values of TCS vehicle types 1 and 5 were determined to be 1 and 3.7, respectively. Those of TCS vehicle types 2 through 4 are found in the manual for the preliminary feasibility study. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the given vehicle delay functions and network properties (i.e., speeds and capacities), the travel demand model with the optimized PCE values produced a MAPE value of 37.7%, RMSE value of 17124.14, and correlation coefficient of 0.9506. Conclusively, the optimized PCE values were revealed to produce estimates of expressway link volumes sufficiently close to actual link counts.

        This paper considers a parallel-machine scheduling problem with dedicated and common processing machines using GA (Genetic Algorithm). Non-identical setup times, processing times and order lot size are assumed for each machine. The GA is proposed to minimize the total-tardiness objective measure. In this paper, heuristic algorithms including EDD (Earliest Due-Date), SPT (Shortest Processing Time) and LPT (Longest Processing Time) are compared with GA. The effectiveness and suitability of the GA are derived and tested through computational experiments.

        본 연구에서는 3차원 직선교 모델의 객체인식을 통해 각 객체별 고유 명칭을 부여하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 3차원 객체의 수치적 인식을 위해 국부 좌표계 상의 솔리드 객체 도심 좌표를 활용하였으며, 객체의 분류, 부재의 구분, 교량 방향 인식 등을 수행하여 객체특성집합을 정의하였다. 이를 통해 경간정보, 부재정보, 객체의 순서정보를 포함한 객체별 고유 명칭을 부여하였고, 트러스 교량 모델 및 서로 다른 좌표계를 갖는 교량모델에 적용하여 각 부재별 객체특성집합을 이용한 명칭의 부여의 적합성을 검토하였다. 또한 실제 교량의 3차원 모델을 대상으로 제안된 방법론을 통해 객체특성집합 정의 및 객체별 명칭을 부여하였고, 이를 매개로 모바일 장치용 모듈과 로컬 서버용 모듈에 적용하였다. 객체인식을 통한 명칭부여 알고리즘을 활용한 방법과 기존 현장점검 방식의 비교를 통해 기존 유지관리 현장점검 업무를 효과적으로 개선할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

        This paper describes the development of algorithm for direct data transmission between Raw VLBI Data Buffer (RVDB) and Huge Capacity Data Server (HCDS) operated in Korea-Japan Correlation Center (KJCC). The transmitted data is the VLBI observation data, which is recorded at each radio telescope site, and the data transmitting rate is varying from 1 Gbps, in usual case, upto 8 Gbps. The developed algorithm for data transmission enables the direct data transmission between RVDB and HCDS through 10 Gbps optical network using VLBI Data Interchange Format (VDIF). Proposed method adopts the conventional UDP/IP protocol, but in order to prevent the loss of data during data transmission, the packet error monitoring and data re-transmission functions are newly designed. The VDIF specification and VDIFCP (VDIF Control Protocol) are used for the direct data transmission between RVDB and HCDS. To validate the developed algorithm for data transmission, we conducted the data transmission from RVDB to HCDS, and compared to the transmitted data with the original data bit by bit. We confirmed that the transmitted data is identical to the original data without any loss and it has been recovered well even if there were some packet losses.

        Decision Tree is one of analysis techniques which conducts grouping and prediction into several sub-groups from interested groups. Researcher can easily understand this progress and explain than other techniques. Because Decision Tree is easy technique to see results. This paper uses CART algorithm which is one of data mining technique. It used 273 variables and 70094 data(2010-2011) of working environment survey conducted by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA). And then refines this data, uses final 12 variables and 35447 data. To find satisfaction factor in working environment, this page has grouped employee to 3 types (under 30 age, 30 ~ 49age, over 50 age) and analyzed factor. Using CART algorithm, finds the best grouping variables in 155 data. It appeared that ‘comfortable in organization’ and ‘proper reward’ is the best grouping factor.

        Recently, a concept of damped outrigger system has been proposed for tall buildings. Structural characteristics and design method of this system were not sufficiently investigated to date. In this study, control performance of damped outrigger system for building structures subjected to seismic excitations has been investigated. And optimal design method of damped outrigger system has been proposed using multi-objective genetic algorithm. To this end, a simplified numerical model of damped outrigger system has been developed. State-space equation formulation proposed in previous research was used to make a numerical model. Multi-objective genetic algorithms has been employed for optimal design of the stiffness and damping parameters of the outrigger damper. Based on numerical analyses, it has been shown that the damped outrigger system control dynamic responses of the tall buildings subjected to earthquake excitations in comparison with a traditional outrigger system.

        고속 주행하는 차량의 움직임은 영상에서 흔들림으로 나타난다. 이러한 흔들림은 번호판 인식의 경우에 오인식률을 높이는 원인이 된다. 이때 흔들림에 대한 사전 정보 없이 흔들림을 복원하는 방법을 블라인드 디컨벌루션이라고 한다. 본 논문에서는 블라인드 디컨벌루션 방법으로 고속 주행으로 인한 흔들림을 복원하여 차량의 번호판을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 흔들림이 없는 영상의 통계를 이용하여 흔들림 복원을 수행한다. 다음으로 템플릿 정합을 이용하여 번호판 인식 과정을 수행한다. 실험을 통해 흔들림 보정 전에 인식하지 못하던 데이터에 대하여 흔들림 복원 후 인식률의 향상을 확인하였다.

        PURPOSES : This research describes how to predict the life cycles of fatigue cracking based on NCHRP Report 704 as well as modified harmony search (MHS) algorithm. METHODS : The fatigue cracking regression model of NCHRP Report 704 was used in order to calculate the ESAL (Equivalent Single Axle Load) numbers up to pavement failure, based on using material parameters, composite modulus, and surface pavement thickness. Furthermore, the MHS algorithm was implemented to find appropriate material parameters and other structural conditions given the number of ESALs, which is related to pavement service life. RESULTS: The case studies show that the material and structural parameters can be obtained, resulting in satisfying the failure endurance of asphalt concrete structure, given the number of ESALs. For example, the required ESALs such as one or two millions are targeted to satisfy the service performance of asphalt concrete pavements in this study. CONCLUSIONS : According to the case studies, It can be concluded that the MHS algorithm provides a good tool of optimization problems in terms of minimizing the difference between the required service cycles, which is a given value, and the calculated service cycles, which is obtained from the fatigue cracking regression model.

        PURPOSES: This study focuses on conducting pavement rehabilitation for more deteriorated roads given a limited government budget. METHODS: Therefore, we apply a optimization programming model of the permutation algorithm used for rehabilitating more deteriorated pavement areas, which is subjected to the limited budget. RESULTS: The permutation algorithm was evaluated in terms of determining the maximized rehabilitation of deteriorated pavement areas, using the newly developed performance models such as fatigue cracking, rutting, international roughness index(IRI) through the surveying data from 2006 to 2012. When compared with a traditional model of the so-called worst-first sequence(WFS) method, the permutation algorithm worked better than the WFS method, resulting in covering more deteriorated pavement areas given the limited government budget. CONCLUSIONS : Through a case study, it could be concluded that the permutation algorithm provides more reliable results in terms of rehabilitating more deteriorated pavement areas given the limited budget.

        PURPOSES: This study is to predict the Sound Pressure Level(SPL) obtained from the Noble Close ProXimity(NCPX) method by using the Extended Kalman Filter Algorithm employing the taylor series and Linear Regression Analysis based on the least square method. The objective of utilizing EKF Algorithm is to consider stochastically the effect of error because the Regression analysis is not the method for the statical approach. METHODS: For measuring the friction noise between the surface and vehicle’s tire, NCPX method was used. With NCPX method, SPL can be obtained using the frequency analysis such as Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT), Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Constant Percentage Bandwidth(CPB) Analysis. In this research, CPB analysis was only conducted for deriving A-weighted SPL from the sound power level in terms of frequencies. EKF Algorithm and Regression analysis were performed for estimating the SPL regarding the vehicle velocities. RESULTS : The study has shown that the results related to the coefficient of determination and RMSE from EKF Algorithm have been improved by comparing to Regression analysis. CONCLUSIONS : The more the vehicle is fast, the more the SPL must be high. But in the results of EKF Algorithm, SPLs are irregular. The reason of that is the EKF algorithm can be reflected by the error covariance from the measurements.

        건물의 경우, 용도 변경에 따른 중력하중 변화, 시공 단계에 따라 중력하중 변화 등이 구조물 시스템에 영향을 미친다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 시스템 식별 변수 설정에 있어 기존에 강성만을 변수로 설정한 방법에 추가적으로 질량을 변수로 설정하여 시스템을 식별하는 기법을 제안한다. 계측한 동특성과 FE모델에서 추출한 동특성 간의 차이를 최소화하여 변수를 탐색하게 된다. 최소화 기법으로 변형 유전 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 보다 전역적 해탐색을 위해 변형 유전 알고리즘은 더 넓은해 탐색 공간에서 해를 찾는다. 철골 보 구조물의 시뮬레이션을 통해 본 연구가 제시한 기법을 검증하였고 변형 유전 알고리즘과 기존의 단순 유전 알고리즘의 성능을 비교하였다. 또한, 강성 식별만을 수행한 기존 연구의 방법과 본 연구가 제시한 기법간의 차이를 비교하였다.

        Computational algorithms and their implementations are studied for the treatments of kernel function’s shadow effects, which occurs in the application of the BEM(boundary element method) for radiation heat transfer analysis. In this problem, surfaces are assumed to be diffuse and gray placed in two-dimensional enclosures with transparent medium. Self-blocking or third party blocking is possible when the radiosity from the BEM nodes cannot reach the destination points. Also the third party blocking can be the partial or total blocking case. Algorithms, which can accurately recognize the each blocking cases and reflect the shadow effects to the BEM kernel function, are studied in this paper. Effective implementation methods are presented, and their results are verified by the test problem

        This study presents an innovative "Matching Algorithm" to match self presentation to consumer preferences in internet dating sites using data mining and machine learning techniques. The study is designed from 2 parts: The first part examines the correlation between the presentation characteristics of man and women in social networks vs. the response rate using several hypotheses. Results show that there is a strong correlation between the way man and woman presents themselves in social networks (such as "FACEBOOK") especially in the range of ages 18-55 (average age is 25.91). In addition, there is a strong positive correlation between the desire of man and woman to develop a romantic relationship between them trough social networks. As such, the more the user desires to achieve a "Real" relationship that may lead to a serious long term relationship, the more he/she uses the social network as an application to achieve their objectives. In the second part the author used data mining and machine learning techniques (Decision trees and Genetic Algorithms) to predict which personal attributes may influence the response rate of the other side's (In this paper only Decision trees – J48 algorithm results will be shown). Results show that some attributes (characteristics) related to personal presentation and education background are critical to achieve a positive response from the other side.

        본 연구는 지하철 로비공간을 대상으로 한 주시실험을 통해 공간정보의 본능적 시선탐색과정에서 나타나는 주시특성에 나타난 주사경로 알고리즘을 분석하였다. 주시기간 구간별 분석에서 주시시간이 오래 경과할수록 주 사유형 횟수가 증가하고 있었는데, 오래 주시할수록 주시단절이 많이 일어난 것으로 해석이 가능하며, 주시에 따 른 피로나 활발한 탐색이 자연스러운 공간탐색과정에서 일어나는 과정에서 화상범위를 벗어나는 경우가 많았던 것으로 보인다. 또한 시간구간의 변화에 따른 주사유형의 변화를 추세선으로 살펴본 결과, 「집중」은 시간구간의 증가와 함께 가파른 증가, 「대각․수직」은 완만한 증가를 보이는 반면, 「순환․혼합․수평」은 감소 경향을 보이 고 있다. 공간을 주시한 피험자의 주시데이터에는 다양한 시각정보가 포함되어 있는데, 「주의집중」에 나타난 주 사유형을 분석한 결과, 이상과 같은 의미 있는 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 이러한 주사유형의 증감특성은 시간의 경과에 따른 주사경향을 파악함에 있어 기초자료가 될 수 있다.

        Supply Chain Management(SCM) is getting important, because size of the company is getting bigger and the kinds of product are various. In this paper, first, It proposed the reasonable operational way of the SCM about when the customer’s demanding is various and demanding expectation fluctuates in capacity standardization of producer stage. Second, the paper proposed the management way for demanding by considering confirmed demanding information, related inventory expense and demanding shortage expense when we make production and distribution plan. The paper applied the genetic algorithm proved for current usefulness. it proposed the optimal operational way for SCM by dividing into 2 ways for dealing with the duration of confirmed demanding information and various fluctuation.

        In this paper, we propose an efficient real-time multi-user input processing algorithm and protocol for supporting a number of different types of user input from various input devices. The main objective of this multi-user input processing algorithm and protocol is to support multiple users to interact simultaneously with the interactive digital content using a variety of user input devices. This protocol is composed of two parts: the input terminal and the server. The input terminals are connected to input devices and the 1:1 value obtained by the selection, calibration, integration, analysis and then transmission to the server to be used for the user input to the contents. The server processes multi-user input information and applies the input processing algorithm to identify the user and then pass input information to the desired application. This paper presents the design and implementation of the multi-user input processing algorithm and protocol. It also describes how to build and execute a multi-user interactive Unity3D application based on this algorithm.
