        When occurring at a nuclear power plant (NPP) by accidents, accurate prediction and identification of the process of radioactive material dispersing into atmosphere is important to protect public and environment. Atmosphere dispersion of radioactive materials is significantly influenced by wind direction and wind speed. The government and nuclear operator continuously monitor wind data at nuclear sites through meteorological tower to prepare for such accidents involving the release of radioactive materials. The purpose of this study is to construct wind rose diagrams at 5 NPP sites (Kori, Saewool, Wolsong, Hanbit, Hanul). Wind roses serve as invaluable tool for identifying wind patterns in each region and visualizing wind directions. This can be utilized to predict the dispersion pathway and extent range of radioactive materials carried by the wind. This program will take on the role of establishing appropriate evacuation routes or shelter locations for residents when reliable wind data is not immediately available during an NPP accident. The wind data used in the study was collected from a meteorological tower located at the NPP site, and measurements were taken at 1-hour intervals for each operation over a period of ten years. The collected data underwent preprocessing, followed by the development of Python code to render the wind rose diagrams in an interpretable format. The future direction of this study will be focused on enhancing this program by integrating geographical mapping capabilities. With these advancements, it will become feasible to superimpose shelter positions on a map in accordance with prevailing wind directions. These improvements will contribute to the development of additional protective measures for residents and the proposal of alternative shelter options in response to potential radioactive material releases.

        The operation time of a disposal repository is generally more than one hundred years except for the institutional control phase. The structural integrity of a repository can be regarded as one of the most important research issues from the perspective of a long-term performance assessment, which is closely related to the public acceptance with regard to the nuclear safety. The objective of this study is to suggest the methodology for quantitative evaluation of structural integrity in a nuclear waste repository based on the adaptive artificial intelligence (AI), fractal theory, and acoustic emission (AE) monitoring. Here, adaptive AI means that the advanced AI model trained additionally based on the expert’s decision, engineering & field scale tests, numerical studies etc. in addition to the lab. test. In the process of a methodology development, AE source location, wave attenuation, the maximum AE energy and crack type classification were subsequently studied from the various lab. tests and Mazars damage model. The developed methodology for structural integrity was also applied to engineering scale concrete block (1.3 m × 1.3 m × 1.3 m) by artificial crack generation using a plate jacking method (up to 30 MPa) in KURT (KAERI Underground Research Tunnel). The concrete recipe used in engineering scale test was same as that of Gyeongju low & intermediate level waste repository. From this study, the reliability for AE crack source location, crack type classification, and damage assessment increased and all the processes for the technology development were verified from the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) in 2022.

        Among the public notices of the NSSC, five notices related to safeguards, including “Education of Nuclear Control, International Regulatory Materials, Preparation of Regulation of NMAC (Nuclear Material Accounting and Control), the National Inspection of NMAC, and Reporting of International Regulatory Materials” The regulations on the National Inspection of NMAC have remained the same since some revisions were made on December 26, 2017, raising the need to revise the public notice due to changes in the domestic and international safeguards regulatory environment. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the public notice of the National Inspection of NMAC and proposes the revision direction. The regulation regarding the National Inspection of NMAC comprises sections such as Purpose and Definition, Types - Scope - Frequency of the National Inspection, Notification of the National Inspection’s plan, and Management of Violation. Appendices include the contents of the violation table, explanations regarding types of violations, and various forms related to the National Inspection, which are attached separately. IAEA mentioned that ROK was selected as a pilot country for the Improved SLA (State-Level Approach) project starting in November 2020. IAEA explained that a quantitative and standardized methodology was adopted and developed for this purpose. As a result, the Unannounced Inspection at LWR facilities will transition to the Random Interim Inspection. Additionally, the Physical Inventory Verification in CANDU facilities will increase to once a year per reactor. This status will change the frequency and intensity of inspection at domestic nuclear facilities. Furthermore, domestically, there is an ongoing trend of continuous growth and diversification of nuclear facilities. In light of the changing domestic and international safeguards environment, it is necessary to set a direction for revising the regulation regarding the National Inspection of NMAC that was partially amended in 2017 to align with the current status. Firstly, due to the increased burden on operators resulting from the increased number of IAEA inspections following the application of Improved SLA, there is a need to streamline the National Inspection of NMAC frequency to enhance overall regulatory efficiency. Furthermore, the definition section should also be revised to include matters related to the regulation to reflect the current reality accurately. Considering the operation and name changes of new domestic nuclear facilities, there may be a need to add or modify computer input codes. While pursuing the revision of regulations regarding the National Inspection of NMAC, an analysis of the need for revision of other regulations related to safeguards should also be conducted, and directions should be set. Through this process, improving the regulatory framework that forms the basis of safeguards can help prevent confusion among operators and promote regulatory efficiency. We can better cope with these changes by proactively adapting to the rapidly changing domestic and international nuclear environment.

        PURPOSES : The main purpose of this study is to identify vulnerable areas by evaluating public transit accessibility for the introduction of smart mobility. METHODS : This study proposes a methodology for analyzing public transportation accessibility. We identified the less accessible areas of public transit in Daegu Metropolitan City by dividing them into low- and high-facilitated areas considering travel demand and developed plans to introduce smart mobility based on the analysis results. RESULTS : Areas vulnerable to public transportation in Daegu Metropolitan City can be divided into those with low public transportation accessibility and low usage rates, those with good public transportation accessibility but low usage rates, and those with low public transportation accessibility but high usage rates. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the results of this study, it is possible to introduce customized services for each area with poor public transit accessibility, and some of the inconveniences experienced by citizens using public transit are expected to be resolved.

        Public institutions have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their employees and the public. One way to do this is to implement a systematic safety inspection system based on risk assessments and continuous improvements. This study developed a systematic safety inspection system for public institutions that are ordered construction projects. The proposed system in this study consists of a three-step process: (1) developing safety grade evaluation tables, (2) preparing and conducting safety inspections, and (3) evaluating and improving safety management grades. The first step is to develop safety grade evaluation tables by analysis and diagnosis of the construction site's work type, disaster statistics, and related laws. The second step is to conduct safety inspections using the developed evaluation tables. The third step is to determine the safety management grade based on the results of the safety inspection, and to improve risk factors found during the safety evaluation. The proposed system was implemented in highway construction projects carried out by public institutions. The results showed that the proposed system has two major effects: (1) reducing accident-related deaths and injuries, (2) improving safety management levels by continuous evaluation and improvement. The proposed system can be utilized in construction projects ordered by public institutions to improve the level of occupational safety and health.

        The purpose of this study has a purpose to evaluate shear ability, ductility and energy dissertation of specimens that is to be applied to jacket using wrapping method. The experiments was conducted as a condition that simultaneously applied axial load and transverse force. The results of experiments represent story-displacement ratio, the stiffness, energy dissertation, plastic rotation which mean seismic resistance ablity on structure. And It represents the form of crack ditribution and failure in extreme stages. Based on the results of this experiment, Design examples are given to show the performance evaluation for the column reinforcing of old school buildings using nonlinear analysis is going to be conducted. Therefore, it is possible to apply the seismic retrofit method to public facilities.

        This study analyzed the factors affecting the educational effect of safety innovation education for management of public institutions. A survey was conducted on 294 CEOs and executive directors of public institutions (divided into construction sites, workplaces, and research facilities) subject to the safety management rating system to understand the impact of educational participants' characteristics and behavioral intentions after safety innovation education. As a result of statistical analysis, it was found that the executive director had a higher behavioral intention than the CEO, and the education quality, education instructor, and educational environment all had a significant positive (+) effect on the behavioral intention. This study can be used as basic data for further research related to safety innovation education for management of public institutions

        본 논문의 연구목적은 K-Culture를 공고화시킨 BTS의 매력을 분석하 고 중견국으로 성장한 한국의 공공외교 확대 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 데뷔 10주년을 맞이한 BTS의 활동과 성공전략을 살펴보고, BTS의 매력 이 새롭게 추진하고 있는 공공외교에 시사하는 바는 무엇인지 분석했다. BTS 매력 중 한국어, 한국악기 등 수단은 한국 고유의 것을 유지하면서 도 그들이 추구하는 가치나 철학은 세계 보편적인 것을 지향하고 있다. BTS의 성공전략은 크게 4가지로 살펴볼 수 있다. 첫째, BTS가 생산하는 콘텐츠의 매력은 스토리텔링에 있다. 둘째, BTS의 스토리텔링은 보편적 이고 동시대적 메시지를 전달하는 특징을 갖고 있다. 셋째, BTS는 보편 적 메시지를 자기만의 방식으로 전달하고자 하는 특수성을 보인다. 마지 막으로 BTS의 콘텐츠 생산, 전파, 수용의 모든 과정은 생산자(BTS)와 소비자(아미) 간 경계가 허물어지면서 참여와 소통, 교환의 쌍방향 소통 으로 이루어지고 있다. 한국의 공공외교에서도 소프트파워를 향한 노력 도 민족주의나 국가이익에 치중하기보다 보편적 이익과 가치를 기반으로 해야 한다는 시사점을 도출한다. 이러한 BTS의 사례를 통해 한국 정부 가 해야 할 일은 단순히 BTS의 매력을 홍보하는 것이 아니다. 그들의 매 력 전략 즉, 진정성과 보편성의 스토리텔링, 네트워크의 지구적 확산 전략 과 수평적 참여 등을 참고하여 BTS형 공공외교를 새롭게 모색해야 한다.

        Commercial condom advertisements usually emphasize the sexual pleasure of branded products, which leads to controversial public views. Some people agree that commercial condom advertisements can also benefit public health, whereas others disapprove of such commercial condom advertisements because their contents are usually offensive, low-tasted, and pornographic. Despite controversy over commercial condom advertising, we know little about the spillover effect of commercial condom advertisement. On one hand, sexual-related content in the commercial condom advertisement may have an arousal effect. That is, it can evoke sexual arousal, leading to more sex intercourses. More frequent sex behaviors, especially casual sex behaviors, may then lead to a risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). On the other hand, commercial condom advertisements may have an educational effect. That is, it can persuade people to use condoms, helping people get in the habit of using condoms, thus reducing the STD trends. In the short term when condom commercials are aired, the arousal effect and educating effect coexists, which motivates the net short-term effect as an open empirical question. In the long-term when the condom commercial no longer aired, the educating effect remains, which decreases the STD trends.

        A new type of food created in laboratories – lab grown meat (LGM) is an alternative to traditional animal farming and attracting attention of media, industry experts and consumers. Why is this new product so controversial? It is claimed that cell-based meat production is more environmentally friendly, ethical and sustainable than traditional methods that involve animals. Hence, being less harmful and potentially slowing down environmental degradation that leads to climate change. However, consumers have concerns regarding product quality, sourcing of cells used for production and use of growth serums. So many differing views are present, even before LGM is introduced as a marketable product. This paper examines what drives public discourse regarding how this new industry can be regulated, technology and how social media posts, fake news and publicly available rhetoric address consumer concerns and consumer acceptance regarding this new food category.

        Drinking spaces such as bars, taverns, inns, cantinas, bierkellers, offer important social community spaces. Within the UK, a Pub, short for Public House is “a place, especially in Great Britain or Ireland, where alcoholic drinks can be bought and drunk and where food is often available” (Cambridge Dictionary, 2022) and is one of the most common and traditional drinking spaces. Sadly we are losing pubs at an alarming rate, due, over the last 20 years to many factors including government interventions (changes in the structure of the industry), increased competition from other leisure activities and high levels of beer duty/tax (BBPA, 2018) and more recent factors such as struggles to fill vacancies, Brexit and covid (Wells and Waehning, 2022). Now, more than ever, we need to understand consumer behaviour related to pubs and to understand how consumers choose pubs and what features of pubs are important to them.

        Sustainability issue has received growing attention from various stakeholders. To engage more people to participate in sustainable actions, the United Nations has promoted #actnow campaign since 2019. Among various sustainability initiatives and approaches, the UN’s #actnow campaign focuses on food and fashion sustainability since these two industries encompass various sustainability issues from production and post-consumption. By analyzing Twitter's big data, the study findings demonstrate that negative sentiment messages are powerful in driving the public’s engagement in social media message dissemination. The findings suggest that practitioners may use assertive and strong voice messages to lead consumers’ participation in sustainable message dissemination.

        Technology innovation companies are focusing on contributing to business performance by R&D project as a strategic tool. Successful R&D leads to corporate competitiveness enhancement, national industrial development, but there are high uncertainty and risks in R&D. Public and private R&D projects are carried out to achieve various purposes. It was verified how the risk management and benefit management of the R&D project affect the detailed R&D project performance between the Public and private domain. The impact of Project Leadership on R&D performance was also analyzed. Those who have participated in the Public and Private R&D projects at companies or research institutes were surveyed. First, it was found that project risk and benefit management have partially an effect on R&D project performance. Second, Public and private R&D Project Leadership showed partially a interaction effect between project management and project performance.

        목적 : 본 연구는 보건대학원생을 대상으로 연구윤리에 대한 인지도, 자기효능감을 통해 지식수준을 파악하고 자 하였다. 방법 : 서술적 설문조사 설계를 사용하였다. 국내 보건대학원에서 총204명의 참여자를 모집하였다. 데이터 수 집 도구는 미국 National Science Foundation과 Association of Graduate School에서 제안된 Responsible Conduct of Research(RCR) 교육 핵심 영역을 기반으로 개발되었다. 참여자들은 연구윤리에 관한 질문으로 구성 된 자가보고식 설문지를 작성하였다. 데이터는 PASW Statistics 18 Window 프로그램을 활용하여 기술 통계로 분석하였다. 결과 : 대상자(평균 연령=30세)는 석사(77.5%)과 박사(22.5%) 과정 학생으로 구성되었다. 대상자의 25.5%만 연구윤리 관련 과목을 수강한 경험이 있었고, 26.5%는 연구책임자로서 연구를 수행한 경험이 있었다. 연구윤리에 대한 인지 수준(5점 만점에 평균 2.90점)과 윤리적 연구수행을 위한 자기효능감 수준(5점 만점에 평균 3.14점)은 보통 수준이었다. 가장 인지도가 낮은 분야는 ‘지적재산권 및 특허 보호’였으며, 그 다음은 ‘부당한 논문저자 표시’ 였고, 가장 지식이 부족한 분야는 ‘연구논문 작성’이었다. 연구윤리에 대한 인지도, 자기효능감, 지식 간에는 통계 적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(all p<0.050). 결론 : 본 연구에서는 학생들이 윤리적으로 건전한 연구를 수행할 수 있도록 보건대학원생을 위한 연구윤리 지 식 교육 프로그램이 필요하다고 사료된다.
