        The objective of this study was to evaluate the embryonic development ability and the appearance of blastocysts of bovine in vitro fertilized oocytes cultured in different culture media, and also to evaluate survival rate after thawing of frozen embryos by using 1.5 or 1.8M ethylene glycol(EG) with sucrose or trehalose. Fertilized oocytes were divided into three groups; i ) monolayer of cumulus /granulosa cell prepared by TGM 199+5% calf serum(TGM199), ii)GRlaa+5% CS, iii)SOF+5% CS, and they were cultured after insemination for 9 days, at 39˚C, under 5% in air, but SOF+5% CS was cultured at 39˚C, under 5% 02, 5% GO2, 99% N2. Blastocysts derived from GRlaa + 5% CS on day 7~8 after insemination were frozen by using 1.5M EG or 1.8M EG with/without 0.2M sucrose or O.1M trehalose. The development rate of blastocysts on day 7 after insemination in SOF+5% CS was significant higher than in TCM199 or CR1aa(P<0.05). The appearance rate of blastocysts on day 7-8 after insemination was higher than in TCM199, when fertilized oocytes were cultured in GRlas or SOF. The survival rate of frozen blastocysts after thawing tended to increase, when blastocysts were frozen by using 1.8M EG with 0.2M sucrose or O.1M trehalose. These results indicated that SOF or CRlaa media with amino acids was superior to TCM199 with monolayer in terms of blastocyst development in culturing of in vitro fertilized bovine nocytes, and sucrose or trehalose was supposed to prevent embryos from the freezing shock.

        In this paper, among the W-S-R relationship methods proposed by Lee, et. al., (2020) to produce rain-based rain information in real time, we tried to produce actual rain information by applying machine learning techniques to take into account the effects of wiper operation. To this end, rain sensor proposed the Graded Descent and Threshold Map method for pre-processing the cumulative value of the difference before and after wiper operation by utilizing four sensitive channels for optical sensors developed by Kim Byung-sik (2016) and using rain sensor data produced by five rain conditions in indoor artificial rainfall experiments. This method is the method of producing rainfall information by calculating the average value of the Threshold according to the rainfall conditions and channels, creating a Threshold Map corresponding to the grid 4 (channel) x 5 (thinking of rainfall information) and applying Optima Rainfall Intensity among the big data processing techniques. For the verification of these proposed findings, the application was evaluated by comparing the rainfall observations with the methods presented by Lee, et. al., (2020).

        To develop various usable water from coal seam gas (CSG) water that needs to be pumped out from coal seams for methane gas production, a feasibility study was carried out, evaluating and analysing a recent report (Coal Seam Gas Water Management Policy 2012) from Queensland State Government in Australia to suggest potential CSG water treatment options for fit-for-purpose usable water production. As CSG water contains intrinsically high salinity-driven total dissolved solid (TDS), bicarbonate, aliphatic carbon, Ca+2, Mg+2 and so on, it was found that appropriate treatment technologies are required to reduce the hardness below 60 mg/L as CaCO3 by setting the reduction rates of Ca+2, Mg+2 and Na+ concentrations, as well as TDS reduction. Also, Along with fiber filtration and membrane separation, an oxidation degradation process was found to be required. Along with salinity reduction, as CSG water contains organic compounds (TOC: 248 mg/L, C6 -C9: <20 mg/L and C10 - C36: <60 mg/L), compounds with relatively high molecular weights (C10 - C36) need to be treated first. Therefore, this study suggests a combined system design with filtration (Reverse osmosis) and oxidation reduction (electrolysis) technologies, offering proper operating conditions to produce fit-for-purpose usable water from CSG water.

        Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT), widely spread in Europe, is a process combined with mechanical separation and biological treatment. This is an alternative technology that can accomplish WtE (Waste-to-Energy) and landfill diversion. Bio-drying, aimed to produce high quality SRF, focused on removing moisture of waste through generated heat when biodegradable organic material is partially degraded by micro-organism. However, most of SRF production facilities in Korea consist of mechanical treatment. In those, 40% of input waste have been generated as residue disposed of in landfill. As a result of physico-chemical characteristic analysis of residue from target facilities, composition of food wastes, papers and plastics ranged 6.7 ~ 18.3%, 9.1 ~ 17.3%, and 5.8 ~ 12.2%, respectively. The moisture content of residue was about 43%, and low heating value was analyzed a range of 1,300 up to 1,900 kcal/kg. Results showed that combustible material having potential to produce SRF is discarded and the amount of biodegradable material such as food waste is still large. Therefore, we assumed it may cause pollution in terms of landfill gas emission and high concentrated leachate generation. In this study, recent trends of Bio-drying is discussed as the alternative technology to solve problems at SRF production facilities in South Korea.

        As environmental concerns become a critical issue in the sustainability of the steel industry, manufacturing of various kinds of glass-ceramics and related functional materials recycled from post-mortem slags has become an important topic of research. The slag composition, which was reduced and cooled using this secondary treatment is affected by the operating parameters and thermo-physical properties of the slag, and thus can provide the potential for utilization in highly value-added products such as Portland cement and high-alumina cement. To increase the applications of the reduced slag product, a new cement material as well as slag aggregates from the EAF slags were developed by controlling the composition and morphology through novel methods.

        The main purpose of this study is to provide the back-from-city farmers with the information about the melon cultivation technology by surveying 268 farm houses in the major melon producing districts such as Seongju and Chilgok. For the purpose, this study classifies the essential technologies that the melon experts think as most important into 6 categories: size of plastic film house, covering film, varieties of oriental melon, lagging cover, ventilation method and ways to reduce repeated-cultivation damage. The result of the study shows that the back-from-city farmers should consider the following items when they choose to cultivate oriental melons. For the size of plastic film house, the ventilation method and the covering film of plastic film house, it is better to choose the latest technology. Even though it may require larger initial investment, the latest technology can increase the production and lower the cost. In case of variety, it is better to choose popular or the most widely grown ones rather than the new ones. The lagging cover should be selected in consideration of climate conditions such as average temperature and humidity, transplant time and harvest time of the farming region.

        For genetic mapping studies, biparental segregating populations are often useful, however recombination is limited, giving rise to large genomic regions under QTL, and one can only study alelles present in both parents. In Wageninegn UR, a core collection is being developed representing all Brassica rapa morphotypes and geographic origins. As most B. rapa accessions are heterozygous and heterogeneous, we started a project to fix the collection through microspore culture. The resulting Diversity Fixed Foundation Set will be an interesting resource for association mapping studies, which have as advantage that they present the allelec variation present in the collection, and for mapping studies recombination is increased. Nineteen accessions of eight subspecies of Brassica rapa were used for microspore culture to developdoubled haploid lines. Eight morphotypes were represented: 3 Chinese cabbage, 2 Chinese turnip cabbage, 3 Pak choi, 5 Turnip, 3 Broccolleto, 1 Mizuna, 1 Komatsuna and 1 Turnip greenfrom the 19acessions examined, embryos were obtained for 13, representing six subspecies (Komatsuna and Turnip Green had no response). The embryo yields differed significantly between these 13 accessions. We regenerated normal plants from 10 accessions that survived more than 4 weeks in the soil using microspore culture. Nine accessions flowered after 4 weeks vernalization at 5℃ and seeds were harvested from 5 accessions. From a Mizuna, we obtained 3791 seeds from one plant and total 7318 seeds were harvested from 5 accessions representing 4 subspecies(Chinese cabbage, Chinese turnip cabbage, Pak choi, Mizuna). At present, we carry out experiment for obtain more seeds and induce embryos from the other plant materials.

        델파이법을 이용한 본 연구는 한국농업의 미래 유망기술을 예측. 도출하기 위하여 시도되었다. 이 미래유망기술을 토대로 우리나라의 농업은 고부가가치를 지닌 2떼기의 핵심전략산업으로 성장하게 할 것이다. 델파이법을 이용하여 경종작물 분야의 전문가에게 각 기술의 전문도, 중요도, 실현시기(국내 및 세계), 연구개발수준, 실현시기의 확신도, 기술적으로 가장 앞선 국가, 연구개발 추진주체, 유효한 정책수단 등을 질문하였다. 이 조사의 대상은 경종작물분야의 전문가로 한정하였다. 미래유망기술로는 44개의 기술이 도출되었고, 이 조사에 응답한 전문가는 39명이었다.

        Development of crops with high quality as well as various beneficial functions is necessary to satisfy consumers being interested in their health and to enhance a competitiveness in the international market of agricultural products. What we have achieved so far from our research on crop quality was not sufficient since we often neglected sensory feature of crop products such as eating quality but in many cases, we put more emphases on nutrient contents, physico-chemical properties, and out-appearing features of the products. Therefore developments of sensory elements and technique for evaluation with a priority given to eating quality of each of an individual crop are important and very urgent to be solved in Korea. An endeavor to develop bioactive crops is necessary and resonable but aspects of both productivity and economy with a special emphasis on the original purposes such as production of energy and nutrient for human life must be considered. The development of more concrete ideas for crop functionality is essential before any research goes further
