        To study the seismic resistance of the shear capacity of the RC beam-column joints of two-story and four-story RC buildings, sample buildings are designed with ordinary moment resisting frame. For the shear capacity of joints, the equations of FEMA 356 and NZ seismic assessment are selected and compared. For comparison, one group of buildings is designed only for gravity loads and the other group is designed for seismic and gravity loads. For 16 cases of the designed buildings, seismic performance point is evaluated through push-over analysis and the capacity of joint shear strength is checked. Not only for the gravity designed buildings but also for seismic designed buildings, the demand of joint shear is exceeding the capacity at exterior joints. However, for interior joint, the demand of joint shear exceeds the capacity only for one case. At exterior joints, the axial load stress ratio is lower than 0.21 for gravity designed buildings and 0.13 for seismic designed buildings.

        AU(A plus U-shaped) composite beam was developed for reducing the story height in the residential buildings, and saving the cosrtuction cost of floor structures. Structural performance and economic feasibility of the composite beam have been sufficiently approved through the structural experiments and the analytical studies. Fire safety for the practical application of the composite beam has also been verified through the fire resistance tests and the heat transfer analyses. In this study 2-points bending tests were performed on the four specimens already tested for fire resistance to evaluate the residual bending strength of AU composite beam after fire accident. The same bending test was performed on the one fresh specimen having the same section and span of the specimens for practically comparative study.

        A Beam String Structure (BSS) is a type of hybrid structures, which is composed of upper structural members, lower strings, and struts. Due to the advantages that the pre-tensioned strings elicit pre-caber of the upper structural members, the deflection can be greatly reduced without increasing the structural member size. In this study, a two-way beam string structure is proposed to endure bi-directional loading. The two-way beam string structure consists of two cable parts, namely, sagging and arch-shaped cables. A parametric study is presented aimed at proposing design guide lines of the two-way beam string structures. Numerical finite element analyses through the ABAQUS package were implemented to obtain their behaviors.

        PURPOSES : It is well known that low temperature cracking is one of the most serious distresses on asphalt pavement, especially for northern U.S. (including Alaska), Canada and the northern part of south Korea. The risk of thermal cracking can be numerically measured by estimating thermal stress of a given asphalt mixture. This thermal stress can be computed by low temperature creep testing. Currently, in-direct tensile (IDT) mixture creep test mentioned in AASHTO specification is used for measuring low temperature creep properties of a given asphalt mixture. However, IDT requires the use of expensive testing equipment for performing the sophisticated analysis process, however, very few laboratories utilize this equipment. In this paper, a new and simple performance test (SPT) method: bending beam rheometer (BBR) mixture creep testing equipment is introduced, and the estimated experimental results were compared with those of conventional IDT tests. METHODS: Three different asphalt mixtures containing reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and roofing shingles were prepared in the Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) research laboratory. Using the BBR and IDT, the low temperature creep stiffness data were measured and subsequently computed. Using a simple power-law function, the creep stiffness data were converted into relaxation modulus, and subsequently compared. Finally, thermal stress results were computed from relaxation modulus master curve using Gaussian quadrature approach with condierations of 24 Gauss number. RESULTS: In the case of the conventional asphalt mixture, similar trends were observed when the relaxation modulus and thermal stress results were compared. In the case of RAP and Shingle added mixtures, relatively different computation results were obtained. It can be estimated that different experimental surroundings and specimen sizes affected the results. CONCLUSIONS: It can be said that the BBR mixture creep test can be a more viable approach for measuring low temperature properties of asphalt mixture compared to expensive and complex IDT testing methods. However, more extensive research and analysis are required to further verify the feasibility of the BBR mixture creep test.

        It was turned out by shrimp beam trawl monthly survey from March, 2015 to February, 2016 that different species composition and abundance of the fish assemblages in Sacheon Bay and coastal waters off Namhae, Korea were compared. As a result of monthly measured sea temperature and salinity of Sacheon Bay and coastal waters off Namhae, sea temperature of both areas was changed seasonally; however, differences in sea temperature occurred during certain periods depending on the region. Salinity was generally low in Sacheon Bay affected by fresh water, and both areas was low in summer and high in winter. A total of 73 species representing 37 families were collected in Sacheon Bay. The dominant fish species in terms of numbers and biomass were Liparis tanakae, 23,077 inds./km2, 332.1 kg/km2. A total of 91 fish species representing 49 families were collected in coastal waters off Namhae. The dominant fish species in terms of numbers were Leiognathus nuchalis, 139,683 inds./km2 and biomass were Chelidonichthys spinosus, 1,078.6 kg/km2. Analysis of dendrogram of the clustering showed that Sacheon Bay and coastal waters off Namhae were distinctive featured (global R = 0.691, p = 0.017). And except of summer season (July-October), there was a distinctive feature seasonally (global R = 0.844, p = 0.001). The fish species that appeared in common in both areas, where fish species caught in Sacheon Bay, an important inner bay,were smaller than those caught in coastal waters off Namhae appeared. It presented that Sacheon Bay plays a more important role in spawning and nursery ground for fisheries resource than coastal waters off Namhae, Korea.

        우리나라는 지진으로부터 안전한 국가라는 인식이 형성되었으나 최근 경주와 포항 지진에 의해 발생된 구조물 피해로 구조물 안전성 확보를 위한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 국내 중저층 건축물에 다수 적용되고 있는 철골 모멘트 골조는 기본적인 내진성능을 보유하고 있지만 보-기둥 접합부의 소성변형으로 인한 취성파괴로 다양한 문제를 발생시킨다. 최근에는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 구조물에 상온에서 잔류변형으로부터 원형복원이 가능한 초탄성 형상기억합금의 활용에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 소성변형이 집중되는 보 플랜지 부재에 초탄성 형상기억합금 보강판을 활용한 보–기둥 접합부에 대하여 실험을 통한 실질적인 내진성능을 평가하고자 한다.

        본 연구는 FRP-콘크리트 합성구조의 휨/전단에 대한 구조적 성능 및 거동 특성을 해석적으로 규명하고자 휨/전단 저항성능에 대해 외연적 유한요소해석을 이용하여 FRP 합성보의 휨/전단파괴거동 해석을 실시하여 기 수행한 실험과 비교분석 하고, 적용된 콘크리트손상소성모델의 각각의 인자들의 영향에 대해 매개분석하고 최적화된 안을 제시하고자 하였다. 기하학적 및 재료적 비선형성 큰 경우 유한요소해석 중 내연적 해석의 경우 수렴에 많은 문제점을 내포함으로 외연적 유한요소 접근법이 보다 합리적임을 수치해석을 통해 보였다. 본 연구의 경우 콘크리트손상소성모델의 여러 인자들에 대한 매개변수 해석을 수행한 결과, 다이레이션각의 경우는 26°, 파괴에너지 값으로 100Nm/m2, 인자 Kc의 값으로는 0.667 그리고 손상계수는 감안하는 것이 합리적이다.

        본 논문에서는 체계적인 설계법을 통해 다중 빔 형성을 위한 빔 분배기의 설계를 소개한다. 본 연구의 목표는 산란하는 마이크로파를 다중 방향으로 진행하는 빔으로 변환시키는 빔 분배기를 설계하는 것이다. 기존의 이론 기반 접근법으로는 불 특정 방향으로의 다중 빔 분배가 어렵다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 기존의 이론 기반 접근법인 변환광학 이론이 아닌 체계적인 설계 방법인 페이즈 필드 설계법을 통해 최적의 빔 분배기 구조를 설계하였다. 목적함수는 각 방향으로 특정 지점의 전기 장 세기의 표준값을 최대화로 설정하였다. 섬 형상의 구조를 피하고 하나의 연결된 구조를 얻기 위해 증강된 라그랑지안을 사용하여 체적 제약조건을 설정하였다. 목표 주파수는 X-band의 주파수 대역의 10GHz이다. 설계된 최적 형상의 빔 분배기는 다중 빔 형성 성능을 잘 보였고, 목표 영역에 전달되는 전기 에너지는 증가하였다. 또한 설계가 유효한 주파수 대역을 평가하기 위해 X-band 대역에 대해 주파수 대역 성능 평가를 수행하였다.

        The species composition and abundance variations of fishery resources in the adjacent marine ranching area, Tongyeong, Korea, were investigated by shrimp trawl, gill net, and longline during the period of July, September, and October in 2016. During the study period, the total catch were 8,522.9 kg with 34 species from the shrimp trawl, 32 species from the gill net, and nine species from the longline. The dominant species were different by gear, which were Hypodytes rubripinnis and Parapercis sexfasciata in the shrimp trawl, Platycephalus indicus and Raja kenojei in the gill net, and Conger myriaster and Scomber Japonicus in the longline. In terms of spatial distribution, Yongchodo showed the highest total catch in number as well as of in weight while Jukdo showed the lowest total catch in number and Bijindo showed the lowest total catch in weight. The amount of demersal fish resources in the survey area estimated as 301 ha, was 99,396 individuals which was converted to be 8,552.9 kg. The amount of demersal fish resources by gear were of trawling area, which area is 127 ha, were 76,251 and 3,489.5 kg, 74 ha in the gill net and longline survey area was 16,213 and 3,457.3 kg, and the other 100 ha area was 6,932 and 1,606.1 kg. In this study, the minimum resources for demersal fish is 61,687 and 4,265.2 kg, and the maximum is 149,439 and 14,197.9 kg.

        본 연구에서는 비틀림 설계가 되지 않은 철근콘크리트 보의 비틀림 거동에 대하여, 폐쇄스터럽의 강도와 간격에 따른 거동 특성을 실험을 통하여 평가하였다. 그리고 비틀림 거동 시 폐쇄스터럽의 간격에 따른 종방향 철근의 거동특성을 분석 하였다. 실험결과 비틀림 설계가 되지 않은 철근 콘크리트 보의 경우 폐쇄스터럽의 강도는 비틀림 강도에 영향이 작은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 비틀림 설계가 되지 않은 단면의 경우, 부재의 균열 비틀림 모멘트에 안전율을 고려하여 부재의 비틀림 강도를 간접적으로 평가할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 종방향 철근이 균열 억제 및 비틀림에 의한 인장력에 저항하기 위해서는 폐쇄 스터럽의 간격이 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

        The cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera, is an economically important pest, which harms various kinds of important agricultural crops, such as tomato. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of ionizing radiations (electron beam, X-ray, gamma-ray) on the development and reproduction of H. armigera and to determine the optimal dose of three ionizing radiations for the construction of quarantine technology applicable to tomato export.

        In this study, we studied the alignment characteristics of liquid crystal on polyimide substrate when irradiated with ion beam in oblique direction on uniformly coated polyimide substrate. The inclined irradiation angle of the ion beam was set to 30 degree, 45 degree and 60 degree and the characteristics were observed for 1 minute and 2 minutes at an ion beam irradiation intensity of 600 to 3,000 eV for each angle. The Alignment of the liquid crystals were observed using a polarized microscope after preparing antiparallel specimens. The pretilt angle of the liquid crystal using the crystal rotation method was measured, and the applicability to actual products was evaluated. Experimental results showed that uniformly aligned liquid crystals could be obtained in samples irradiated at 1 and 2 minutes with an ion beam intensity of 1200 eV or higher when irradiated with 30 degree and 45 degree tilted ion beams. And, at 60 tilted degree, It shows that uniformly aligned liquid crystals could be obtained in samples irradiated at 1 and 2 minutes with an ion beam intensity of 2400 eV or higher. The pretilt angle of the liquid crystal showed the best characteristics when irradiated with ion beam inclined at 45 degrees, and it was confirmed that the pretilt angle was 0.2 to 1.3 degrees, which is usable for horizontally oriented LCD.

        U-flanged truss beam is composed of u-shaped upper steel flange, lower steel plate of 8mm or more thickness, and connecting lattice bars welded on the upper and lower sides. The hybrid beam with U-flanged steel truss is made in the construction site through pouring the concrete, and designated as U-flanged truss hybrid beam. In this study the structural experiments on the 4 hybrid beams with the proposed basic shapes were performed, and the flexural capacities from the tests were compared with those from the theoretical approach. The failure modes of each specimen were quite similar. The peak load was reached with the ductile behavior after yielding, and the failure occurred through the concrete crushing. The considerable increasement of deformation was observed up to the concrete crushing. The composite action of concrete and steel member was considered to be reliable from the behavior of specimens. The flexural strength of hybrid beam has been evaluated exactly using the calculation method applied in the boubly reinforced concrete beam. The placement of additional rebars in the bottom instead of upper side is proposed for the efficient design of U-flanged truss hybrid beam.
