        Korean-Chinese Learner’s Dictionary, which was compiled by the National Institute of Korean Language, is a web dictionary translating Korean Basic Dictionary into Chinese. As more and more Chinese wanted to learn Korean, the National Institute of Korean Language planned for the translation. A research team in Korea University carried out the project for 3 years from 2016 to 2018. The main focus of the project was to present Chinese counterparts with Korean headwords by translating them into Chinese.  This paper aims to provide an overview of the compiling project, Korean-Chinese Learning Dictionary, the principles applied to the actual translation process, and to examine the current status of the Sino-Korean headwords and the detailed translation method. In Chapter 2, the review of the purpose, steps, and progress of Korean-Chinese Learner’s Dictionary is provided. Chapter 3 presents the statistical results of the Sino-Korean headwords in Korean-Chinese Learner’s Dictionary. In addition, the detailed principles applied to the process of Chinese translation are reviewed along with the main cases by the headword type. Moreover, the characteristics of the cultural vocabulary and the band system according to them are discussed.

        The paper introduces KorLex, Korean WordNet, which uses Princeton WordNet (PWN) as a reference model as well as a pivot that provides KorLex with the multilingual interface. Sub-section 2.1 describes the background for which we intended to build KorLex by ourselves, and the motivations for which we selected PWN as a reference model among other wordnets. Sub-sections 2.2 and 2.3 deal with the semantic features that share both PWN and KorLex, and the linguistic features that we attach to KorLex in order to improve Korean Language Processing (KLP). Section 3 presents two representative applications of KorLex in the field of Natural Language Processing: (1) in KLP environment, <Korean Spell/Grammar Checker (KSGC)> that we have developed for the last 30 years, and for which we decided to elaborate KorLex version 1.5 and to attach the sophisticate information of Korean language to the version 2.0; (2) in multilingual environment, <Korean-Korean_Sign_Language Machine Translation (K2KSL MT)>, which would not be successfully developed without the hierarchical semantic structure of KorLex as well as PWN, since the hierarchy enables K2KSL MT to solve logically the notorious ‘data sparseness (= lack of lexicon)’ problem that KSL encounters during the translation process, like in other bilingual or multilingual MT systems.

        The development of new technology, new economy and new society requires us to cultivate compound talents of knowledge + technology + skills。 But There is a dislocation and inconsistency between higher education and the development of new technology, new economy and new society. If such inconsistencies are to be overcome, "capability-based" education is particularly important. This thesis explores the domestic and foreign research background of service learning in foreign language learning, and investigates and analyzes empirical cases of service learning in Chinese language teaching at domestic and abroad. According to my investigation, there are only four research papers on the use of service science in the Chinese classroom: Two of these papers are examples of Chinese culture teaching and Heritage language learning for Chinese American students,The other two are Chinese teaching research for foreign students in China, and Chinese teaching in Korean classrooms. Based on the above analysis, several suggestions are made for the application of Korean university service learning in college Chinese lessons.

        정보통신 기술의 발전과 더불어 기계번역, 음성인식, 언어자료 데이터베이스(DB) 구축 등 언어처리 시스템의 실현에 있어서 자연언어처리(NLP)의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한·중 문법구조 대응 방법에 대한 자연언어처리의 정확도를 높이기 위한 방법을 모색하고자 ‘있다’에 대응하는 중국어 단어인 ‘有,在,着’를 중심으로 한국어와 중국어의 대응 구조를 분석하였다. 이와 관련하여 한국인 중국어 학습자들이 자주 범하는 오류 유형에 대해 Google 번역을 시도하고 그 결과를 분석하여 오류를 수정·보완할 수 있는 해결 방안을 제시 하였다. 본 연구가 한국어와 중국어를 위한 전산시스템을 구축하는 데 도움이 되길 기대한다.

        This study examines the characteristics of Virtual Advertisements, particularly with respect to the formal and content characteristics of Virtual Advertisements. Among the expressions of language, the discussion was particularly centered on linguistic solidarity. Text cohesion can be explored in terms of cohesion, which means content and semantic association of text, and condensation that refers to grammatical association of text layers. There were two ways to maintain the verbal bonds of virtual advertising: morphological and syntactic method. Morphological methods can be largely divided into two ways: to maintain the consistency of text by repeating the same word, or to maintain the consistency of text by using vocabulary in the same category. The syntactic method was studied, focused on the syntactic condensation that appears in the language expressions of the front and rear scenes of virtual advertising. Specific methods of syntactic condensation devices can be divided into five types: distich, sentence connection, sentence response, omission and rhetorical connection.

        This study aims to show that language purification policies are the most important factors that influence Korean language differentiation, based on the premise that Korean is a pluricentric language having two regional varieties: South Korean P’yojuno and North Korean Munhwao. To this end, on the basis of a precedent study that analyzed regional variation mechanisms in French through four factors—terminological, socio-terminological, psycho-terminological, and extra-terminological—we identified two factors having great influence on the language change in South and North Korean societies: socio-terminological and extra-terminological. We also found that these factors precisely correspond to two categories in Kloss's(1969) theory of language planning— corpus planning and status planning; this confirmed that we should consider Korean language differentiation from the standpoint of language policy. There are many factors that cause language differentiation, and there is no doubt that these factors also have complex interrelationships. However, this study is all the more meaningful in that it uses systematic analysis to state that language policy plays an important role in Korean language differentiation.

        The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends in Korean language education for North Korean refugees. In pursuance of this goal, the study collected bibliographic information from 1,924 academic papers related to North Korean defectors and analyzed their research trends using language network analysis methods. The frequency and centrality of the academic papers were analyzed by year, using an analysis tool, NetMiner 4.0, which focuses on analyzing social networks. The findings of the analysis were as follows: First, the study of North Korean defectors began to explode in 2010. Second, the most central words were ‘education,’ ‘unification,’ ‘policy,’ ‘support,’ ‘experience’ and ‘relationship.’ Third, for North Korean defectors, Korean language education as a foreign language was more actively done than general Korean language education. Fourth, the analysis of 15 topics showed that topics on social issues accounted for the highest percentage at 25%. Finally, the areas of greatest interest in Korean language education were vocabulary, pronunciation, and intonation education. It is hoped that more research on Korean language education for North Korean defectors will be carried out in the future.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of some practical teaching and learning methods using multimedia literacy in Japanese language education. As components of multimedia literacy, SNS, YouTube clips, the recording function of mobile phones, and reading tasks were given to 29 university students in an introductory level Japanese language class. At the end of the semester, the students were asked to participate in a survey in which they evaluated whether the teaching and learning methods using multimedia literacy were helpful. The findings of the study were as follows: First, problem-solving skills, and reading and speaking skills were enhanced by using a team-based learning. Second, the class using SNS was very useful for enhancing the language skills due to the convenient presentation of learning materials, the submission and the review of assignments, and the immediate feedback. Third, Korean composition sentences and reading tasks made a great contribution to practicing pronunciation and enhancing conversation skills. Fourth, voice files and YouTube clips provided for absent students could make up for the contents they missed in class. On the basis of this study, a variety of teaching and learning methods using multimedia literacy are expected to be designed and discussed.

        오늘날 해외 선교지와 국내 이주민 선교 현장에서 한국어 학습자가 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 이주민 선교는 유형별로 선교전략을 달리하여 접근해야 한다. 국내 외국인 유학생들은 초기 정착과정에서 한국어 공부에 대한 필요가 크다. 한국어 공부는 선교의 좋은 접촉점이 되지만 큰 수요에 비해 선교를 위한 한국어 교재개발과 공급이 매우 절실한 상황이다. 선교목적 한국어 교재개발은 학습자인 외국인 유학생, 한국 인 교사, 성경과 일반 내용을 융합한 텍스트와 유학생들의 삶과 학업 현장의 상황을 고려해야 한다. 이를 토대로 한국의 유학생 전도용 한국어 공부 교재로 개발한 본 연구자의 졸고 『세계관 한글공부』 교재를 분석했다. 한국 유학생인 학습자 상황, 세계관 연구방법과 한국어 교육을 접목한 특징, 내용과 구성을 중심으로 교재를 분석하고, 유학생 선교현장에서 교재를 활용한 선교적 적용 및 활용 방안을 제시하였다.

        The purpose of study was to investigate university students’ attitudes towards English language learning apps and examine whether there is any significant difference in their attitudes depending on their personal variables such as their gender, major, grade, nationality, and so on. This study also explored students’ perceptions of English language learning apps that they have used. Participants were college students living in Korea and China. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire and an interview. Results showed that both Korean and Chinese students generally held positive attitudes towards English language learning apps, although Chinese students showed more positive attitudes than Koreans. The main reasons that they liked to use English language learning apps were their convenience, ubiquity, and rich resources. On the other hands, it was revealed that the lack of communication and feedback was the main problem of using such apps. Both Korean and Chinese students stated that it was an effective way to use English language learning apps to practice pronunciation, vocabulary, listening, and reading skills. Findings of this research suggest that English language learning apps should be developed to inspire users/students’ learning interest and foster learner autonomy.

        This article reports on a classroom-based study that examined the effects of direct focused and unfocused written corrective feedback (WCF) on the accuracy development of the past hypothetical conditional (e.g., If I had had money, I would have bought a new computer.) and the indefinite article (a/an). The study employed a pretest-posttest-delayed posttest design with two feedback treatment sessions. Six intermediate classes, a total of 108 college freshmen at a university in Korea and two native English speaking instructors, participated in the study. The classes were assigned into a focused WCF group, an unfocused WCF group, and a control group. A text-reconstruction task was used as a writing material and a test instrument. The results revealed that both focused and unfocused WCF groups outperformed the control group in the accuracy gains of both target forms. When the relative effects of two types of feedback were considered, there was no difference in the contribution focused and unfocused WCF made for the accuracy improvement of the hypothetical conditional. However, focused WCF was more beneficial than unfocused WCF for the development of the indefinite article.

        The purpose of this study is to present the contents of ‘Korean politeness’, which can be used to learn ‘Korean as a Second Language’, from the perspective of ‘conversational performance’. To this end, first, the concept of Korean politeness was examined in two elements: ‘sociocultural norm consciousness’ and ‘conversational strategy of individual speech act’. A conversational performance model of Korean politeness was also investigated as a educational unit of politeness contents. This performance model is composed of ‘adjacency pair’ and based of ‘common ground’ including honorific and speech act requirements. In order to construct educational politeness contents for KSL learner, conversational scenes of the revised KSL textbook, Standard Korean for Elementary Schoolchild were then analysed. In conclusion, politeness contents of KSL textbook were revealed in three aspects: ‘practice of using honorific style’, ‘politeness routines’, ‘politeness expressions and strategies’. Based on the results of the analysis, the direction of politeness education for KSL learners in elementary school was finally proposed in both ‘speech act’ and ‘conversation type’ pragmatic education.

        본 연구는 국내 중국어교육에서 활용되고 있는 주제범주와 주제항목을 분석하여 이들의 객관성을 확보하고 중국어교육에 적용할 수 있는 주제의 참조기준을 마련을 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 『CEFR』, 국제통용 한국어표준교육과정』,『Core Inventory for general English』등 외국어교육요목의 주제를 분석하여 일반 언어에서 필요한 보편적인 주제를 분석하고자 하였다. 『国际大纲(2014)』과 『新HSK大纲(2015)』, 『제2외국어과 교육과정』의 주제를 분석하여 중국어교육요목에서만 특징적으로 제시하고 있는 개별적인 주제를 분석하여 언어 보편적 주제와 개별적 주제들을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 토대로 국내 중국어회화교재의 주제범주와 항목을 비교분석한 그 결과, 국내 중국어교재의 주제는 1단계에서 4단계까지는 보편적인 주제이고, 5단계에서 6단계까지는 중국과 중국의 특징적인 주제를 반영하였다. 중국과 한국의 교재에서 제시한 공통적인 주제는 주로 일상생활과 연계된 주제를 주로 제시하며 언어 보편 적인 주제는 거의 대부분 제시하였다. 하지만 국내 중국어교재는 주제항목의 다양성, 수준별 연계성이 다소 부족한 반면 『HSK标准教程(2015)』는『国际大纲(2014)』과 『新HSK大纲(2015)』에서 제시한 전반적인 주제항목을 반영하고 있고, 중국과 중국문화와 관련된 개별적인 주제를 충분히 제시하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이것으로 향후 중국어교육에서 주제범주와 주제항목은 수준별 다양화와 수준별 연계성에 대한 체계적인 분석과 연구가 필요하다고 여겨진다.

        The purpose of this study is to examine a corpus regarding the use of discriminatory language and its perceptions. First, we examined informal job titles that indicate social views regarding the respective workers, and then we analyzed expressions indicating negative perceptions as well as negative expressions about occupations and tasks to determine negative views or attitudes toward the workers. Summarizing the results of the analysis, ganhowon(nurse) and cheongsobu(cleaner) as inappropriate titles, nogada(physical labor) and gongdori/gongsuni(factory boy/girl) as expressions of negative perception, and nogada and wunjeonsu(driver) in negative expressions related to occupations and work occur with high frequency. Ganhowon is used with titles for women like eonni(older sister), agassi(lady), and Miss ○, cheongsobu and pachulbu(day maids) with the titles ajumma(tannie) and ajeossi(older man), wunjeonsu and gongsuni with the epithets nom(jerk) and nyeon(bitch), and nogada with the titles ilggun(workers) and inbu(laborers), and such terms as jjapsae(the fuss) with a epithet saeggi(jerk/bleeder) are used mainly as inappropriate titles. Bad behavior, deprecatory social treatment, and negligent discrimination are conveyed in these expressions of negative perception. The expressions related to occupation and work were mainly used for professionals doing less respected or socially lower work or who do not work well, and there were many expressions indicative of low status or lower rank in the job hierarchy. Lastly, references to appearance and sexuality were those most frequently used in expressions conveying other occupational discrimination, and were found to be used mainly for ganhowon and gongsuni who are young women.

        본 논문은 非目的语의 환경에서 베트남의 한어학습자들을 대상으로 하여, 지필 테스트(paperand- pencil test) 방식으로 그들의 한자 형방 인식의 발전 과정에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 베트남 한어학습자들이 초·중급 단계에 있을 때 여전히 스스로 형방을 인식하지 못하였으나 고급 단계에 진입한 후 형방을 비교적 스스로 인식할 수 있게 되었다. 체계적인 한자 이론 지식 교육은 학습자들이 한자 형성자의 형방에 대한 인식과 그 발전에 도움이 되었다. 중국 유학생들과 비교 연구를 통하여 본 논문은 서로 다른 언어 학습 환경에서 학습자들이 형성자들을 인식하는 데 있어서도 서로 다른 발전 양상이 있음을 발견할 수 있었다.

        중국어의 글자와 단어는 형태·소리·의미상 매우 다양하고 복잡한 특성을 가지고 있다. 이로 인해 많은 중국어를 사용하지 않던 (non-Chinese speaking) 학생들은 이와 같은 중국어의 글자와 단어·구 조합의 다양한 특징을 쉽게 변별하기 어렵다. 모국어인 영어 또는 필리핀어, 파키스탄어, 네팔어 등과 같은 기본 자모를 갖춘 언어들은 모두 병음 문자 계통을 사용 하기 때문에, 중국어에서 사용하는 한자의 자형·자의의 개념에 대한 이해가 부족할 수 밖에 없다. 이로 인해 그들은 한자를 쓸 때마다 매우 큰 어려움을 겪게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 제시된 『閱讀促進學習』(Reading to Learn, 이하 'R2L'이라고 약칭한다.) 교육법은 그들의 어려움을 극복하는데 일정한 성과가 있었다. 본 논문은 중국어가 비 모국어인 학생들의 대외한어 수업에서 R2L을 사용하여 한자를 가르치는 현장 설계와 그 수업 절차를 관찰 및 분석하였고, 실험 결과 이 교육법이 학생들의 말과 글을 묘사하는 능력을 향상시키는 데 일정한 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 '사례연구'라는 연구방법으로 R2L 교육법이 중국어를 모국어로 하지 않는 홍콩 학생들의 대외한어 작문 수업에서 어떻게 활용되고 있는지에 대해 연구를 진행하였고, R2L 교육법을 통해 중학교 1학년 학생들에게 문장 또는 글자를 묘사하는 것을 교육하는 현장 상황을 분석하였다. 또한 교사와 학생들의 인터뷰, 수업 심층연구 및 원문분석 등의 연구 도구들을 활용하여 대외한어교육현장에서 진행되 는 한자교육에서의 R2L 교육법 도입과 그 가치(효율성)에 대한 내용을 총정리하였다. 본 연구결과를 통해, 중국어 교사가 R2L교육법을 실시한 후, 서로 다른 수준을 갖고 있는 학생들이 글자와 문장을 묘사하는 능력을 제고시키는 데 효과가 있었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구자들은 본 논문의 연구결과를 토대로, 대외한어교육현장에서 R2L교육법을 응용한 한자교육의 전략에 대해 관련된 의견들을 제시하고자 한다.

        The purpose of this paper is to analyze systematically the issues and approaches of existing research on language and ideology. In order to accomplish this purpose, this paper first defines ideology as ‘the ideas, beliefs, and values and the material process of (re)producing them that contribute to promoting and legitimizing the sectoral interests of certain social group or power’, noting that such ideology causes social problems when it serves primarily the sectoral interests of a mainstream group or ruling power, often working in a false and deceptive form through distortion and dissimulation of objective reality. Then, this paper raises the necessity to divide the research into two types: the research on ideology ‘about’ language and the research on ideology ‘through’ language. Finally, based on the theoretical discussion above, this paper explores the sociolinguistic research tasks and prospects of research on language and ideology by analyzing the representative research cases and approaches related to Korean language and its usage. This paper particularly focuses on monolingualism and standard language ideology in the case and approach of the research on ideology ‘about’ language, and sexism and gender ideology in the case and approach of the research on ideology ‘through’ language.

        The purpose of this study is to develop a curriculum to help foreign broadcasters who will be in demand in the future develop pragmatic language and Korean language skills suitable for broadcasting languages. Based on literature review related to broadcasting language and Korean for Occupational Purposes, the broadcasting language conditions for foreign broadcasters were organized. In order to develop the Korean language curriculum, it’s been interviewed and surveyed foreign broadcasters who are working at Korean broadcasting stations. Based on the needs assessment, the education contents and teaching items were designed. The principles of composition of the curriculum established in this study are as follows. (1) Curriculum for Korean language and broadcasting ability for foreigners; (2) content that can be understood and proceeded with the characteristics of genre; (3) use the correct broadcasting language; (4) active response attitude; and (5) a broadcaster with the ability to understand Korean culture. Proposals for the curriculum that can help foreign broadcasters grow into good communicators of cultural content in Korea are presented.

        사무엘 베케트가 바라본 현실은 비논리적이며 비이성적인 것들로 가득 찬 세상이었다. 베케트는 기존의 언어, 시간, 그리고 공간에 대한 해체를 통해 부조리 한 세상을 표현한다. 논리에 맞지 않는 대화, 욕설, 그리고 침묵 등과 같은 탈규 범적 언어사용은 관객들에게 낯설음을 선사한다. 소리에 불과한 대화와 긴 침묵 으로 인한 인간관계의 단절은 기다림과 망각으로 점철된 멈춰진 시간에 갇혀있다. 정지된 시간은 과거, 현재, 그리고 미래의 구분을 불가능하게 만들기 때문에 공간의 경계마저 불분명하게 만든다. 파편적 시간의 흐름과 현실과 환상의 모호한 공간의 경계는 도래하는 구원자에 대한 정보수용을 불가능하게 만들기 때문에 희망은 존재할 수 없음을 시사한다. 베케트는 이 작품을 통해 어떤 이야기도 직접적으로 전해주지 않는다. 하지만, 그가 전달하고자 하는 목적을 재현하기 위한 도구로서 언어와 시공간을 재배치하여 그것들이 상징하는 바를 숙고하게 만든다.
