        This study was carried out to develop a system to reduce ultrafine dust using hygroscopic materials such as glycerin and propylene glycol. Prior to the development of an ultrafine dust reduction system, the moisture condensation efficiency of glycerin and propylene glycol was investigated based on relative humidity (RH). The results showed that when no substances (glycerin and propylene glycol) were added to a tedlar bag, the relative humidity and temperature remained constant. The moisture condensation efficiency of glycerin was 60%, and the time it took to reach 50% of the initial relative humidity was about 40minutes. In the case of propylene glycol, the moisture condensation efficiency was 75%, and the time it took to reach 50% of the initial relative humidity was about 10 minutes. When glycerin and propylene glycol mixture was added, the moisture condensation efficiency was 68% and it took 20 minutes to reach 50% of the initial relative humidity. These results suggest that hygroscopic materials such as glycerin and propylene glycol can actually condense moisture in the atmosphere. In addition, considering actual atmospheric conditions, the relative humidity was set to 60% and 40% or less, and the moisture condensation efficiency was measured. The results showed that the mixture of glycerin and propylene glycol yielded the highest condensation efficiencies, at 69% and 62%, respectively. Therefore, it is preferable to use a mixture of glycerin and propylene glycol to condense moisture in the range of relative humidity in the actual atmosphere.

        A sediment control dam is an artificial structure built to prolong sedimentation in the main dam by reducing the inflow of suspended solids. These dams can affect changes in dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the water body by changing the river flow regime. The main DOM component for Yeongju Dam sediment control of the Naeseongcheon River was analyzed through 3D excitation-emission matrix (EEM) and parallel factor (PARAFAC) analyses. As a result, four humic-like components (C1~C3, C5), and three proteins, tryptophan-like components (C2, C6~C7) were detected. Among DOM components, humic-like components (autochthonous: C1, allochthonous: C2~C3) were found to be dominant during the sampling period. The total amount of DOM components and the composition ratio of each component did not show a difference for each depth according to the amount of available light (100%, 12%, and 1%). Throughout the study period, the allochthonous organic matter was continuously decomposing and converting into autochthonous organic matter; the DOM indices (fluorescence index, humification index, and freshness index) indicated the dominance of autochthonous organic matter in the river. Considering the relative abundance of cyanobacteria and that the number of bacteria cells and rotifers increased as autochthonous organic matter increased, it was suggested that the algal bloom and consequent activation of the microbial food web was affected by the composition of DOM in the water body. Research on DOM characteristics is important not only for water quality management but also for understanding the cycling of matter through microbial food web activity.

        사회기반 시설물의 노후화에 대응해 이상 징후를 파악하고 유지보수를 위한 최적의 의사결정을 내리기 위해선 디지털 기반 SOC 시설물 유지관리 시스템의 개발이 필수적인데, 디지털 SOC 시스템은 장기간 구조물 계측을 위한 IoT 센서 시스템과 축적 데이터 처 리를 위한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술을 요구한다. 본 연구에서는 구조물의 다물리량을 장기간 측정할 수 있는 IoT센서와 클라우드 컴퓨팅 을 위한 서버 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발 IoT센서는 총 3축 가속도 및 3채널의 변형률 측정이 가능하고 24비트의 높은 해상도로 정밀 한 데이터 수집을 수행한다. 또한 저전력 LTE-CAT M1 통신을 통해 데이터를 실시간으로 서버에 전송하여 별도의 중계기가 필요 없 는 장점이 있다. 개발된 클라우드 서버는 센서로부터 다물리량 데이터를 수신하고 가속도, 변형률 기반 변위 융합 알고리즘을 내장하 여 센서에서의 연산 없이 고성능 연산을 수행한다. 제안 방법의 검증은 2개소의 실제 교량에서 변위계와의 계측 결과 비교, 장기간 운 영 테스트를 통해 이뤄졌다.

        This study was conducted for the purpose of suggesting a standard that can be used under ambient temperature by improving the low mechanical and thermal properties of ABS. PC was used as a filler, and post-curing conditions of the ABS/PC blend injection material were investigated. It was found that the ABS/PC blend injection material having a PC content of 20 wt.% or more showed little change in tensile properties at a temperature of 50°C, and a decrease in tensile properties of less than 10% at 80°C.

        Effects of growth variables and post-growth annealing on the optical, structural and electrical properties of magnetron-sputtered Ga0.04Mg0.10Zn0.86O films are characterized in detail. It is observed that films grown from pure oxygen plasma showed high resistivity, ~102 Ω·cm, whereas films grown in Ar plasma showed much lower resistivity, 2.0 × 10− 2 ~ 1.0 × 10−1 Ω·cm. Post-growth annealing significantly improved the electrical resistivity, to 4.3 ~ 9.0 × 10−3 Ω·cm for the vacuum annealed samples and to 1.3 ~ 3.0 × 10−3 Ω·cm for the films annealed in Zn vapor. It is proposed that these phenomena may be attributed to the improved crystalline quality and to changes in the defect chemistry. It is suggested that growth within oxygen environments leads to suppression of oxygen vacancy (Vo) donors and formation of Zn vacancy (VZn) acceptors, resulting in highly resistive films. After annealing treatment, the activation of Ga donors is enhanced, Vo donors are annihilated, and crystalline quality is improved, increasing the electron mobility and the concentration. After annealing in Zn vapor, Zn interstitial donors are introduced, further increasing the electron concentration.

        기상청에서 운용하는 268개의 가속도 관측망에 대한 방위각 보정값을 측정하기 위해 배경잡음 교차상관 방법을 사용하였다. 이 방법은 배경잡음 자료를 사용하기 때문에 원거리 지진자료를 사용하는 방법과 달리 특정 조건에 맞는 지진을 선정할 필요가 없고, 한반도와 같은 조밀한 관측망에 적용하여 단기간의 연속 파형 자료만을 사용해 신뢰할 수 있는 방위각 보정값을 측정할 수 있다. 계산에는 2020년 1월부터 2020년 2월까지 총 268개의 기상청 가속도 관측망에 기록된 3성분 연속 파형 자료를 사용했다. 계산된 결과를 보면 기존에 원거리 지진자료를 사용한 결과와 매우 유사하며, 기존 결과에서 누락된 가속도 관측소들을 포함한 대부분 관측소의 방위각 보정 계산 결과가 표준편차 5o 이하로 안정적으로 계산되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구를에서 사용한 방법을 활용해 기상청 가속도 관측소에 대한 방위각 보정값을 지속적으로 모니터링하고 측정된 결과를 활용하면, 가속도 자료의 수평 성분을 활용한 다양한 연구들에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

        국내 고농도의 초미세먼지 발생 빈도 증가와 함께 그 전구물질인 NH3와 관련한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. NH3 배출에 있어 농업의 기여율이 높은 것은 자명한 사실이다. 그러나 비료 사용이 농경지 대기 중 NH3 농도에 장기간 미치는 영향에 관련한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수동식 NH3 확산형 포집기를 활용해 11개월 간 농경지 대기 중 NH3 농도를 관측하였다. 그 결과 비료 살포 직후 한 달 동안 NH3 배출의 영향이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그 이후 여름철 기온 상승으로 NH3 휘발이 촉진되어 대기 중 농도가 증가할 것으로 예상하였으나, 54일간의 지속적인 강우로 인하여 대기 중 높은 암모니아 농도는 관측되지 않았다. 그 후 NH3 농도는 가을과 겨울을 거치면서 점차 감소하였다. 비료의 영향력이 감쇠한 시점 이후에는 기온이 감소할수록, 그리고 강수량이 증가할수록 NH3 농도는 감소하는 것을 상관분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 종합해 보면, 국내 NH3 배출량에서 비료의 기여율을 연구하는 데 있어 비료 살포 직후 최소 한 달 동안은 집중적으로 살펴보아야 할 것이며, 현장 연구 시 강수량과 무강우 일수 등의 기상 정보도 함께 고려해야 할 것이다.

        The correlation among gaseous air pollutants (odorous compounds, greenhouse gases) and meteorological parameters was analyzed in-depth using measurement data at a barn and ambient in a naturally ventilated dairy farm. Both concentration and emission data (loading rate and emission rate), which more accurately express the actual pollutant emissions, were used in the correlation analysis. Gaseous air pollutants (ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane) and meteorological factors (relative humidity, temperature, wind speed, solar strength) were measured for one week in July 2013. The upper and lower outliers of measured data by inducing 1.5 times the interquartile range (IQR) were eliminated. After eliminating the outliers and grouping according to data magnitude, the correlation analysis among gaseous compounds and meteorological factors was conducted using the average values of each group. In the correlation analysis, data for the emission rate (barn) and the loading rate (ambient) showed a better correlation than concentration data. Gaseous air pollutants except for hydrogen sulfide in the barn showed a good correlation. Hydrogen sulfide might not be produced from manure or animal origin. Rather, the compound may be produced by flushing water, which was flushed at periodical times (every six hours). Ammonia emissions increased with increasing temperature, and this increase can be affected from greater exertion of feces by frequent water drinking in a high-temperature condition. In the ambient, the correlation for all gaseous air pollutants was better than that in the barn, because those air pollutants from manure, animals, and flushing water origins were sufficiently mixed in the atmosphere. Wind speed also showed a good correlation with all gaseous air pollutants.

        In South Korea, Particulate matter (PM) has become one of the major threats to public health and safety across the country. Urban forests have been considered as a possible contributor to mitigate the air pollutants in urban areas. However, there is lack of research on investigating the role of urban forests on mitigating PM. This study investigated on the relationship between urban forests and PM concentrations in Seoul, South Korea, by using urban forest data, PM measurements, satellite imagery, and meteorological data. The correlation between the size of urban forests and PM measurements within three concentric buffers of 1 km, 500 m, and 300 m in radius were analyzed. Overall PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations varied significantly with different seasons during the 2-year study period. Overall PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations tended to be reduced as the urban forest size increased. This tendency became less noticeable as smaller urban forest patches were predominant over larger patches in the buffers. Season-specific models were developed by using 30m-resolution satellite imageries of Landsat 8 and meteorological parameters for estimating PM concentrations. No noticeable correlations were found between the modeled PM concentrations and the Urban forest size showing the ualves of Pearson’s coefficient r of 0.08 to 0.23 for PM10 and -0.16 to 0.04 for PM2.5. In this study, the variations in PM measurements with the presence of high urban forests within buffers were investigated. Overall PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations were lower along the domains encompassing higher urban forests in elevation.

        해저 파이프라인은 자원개발을 포함한 에너지산업 및 철강산업과 연계한 고부가가치 산업으로서 상당한 관심을 받아왔다. 해저 파이프라인의 설계와 설치 프로젝트 수행을 위해서는 다양한 핵심요소기술들이 필요하다. 특히, 해저 파이프라인의 안전한 운영을 위해서는 예비커미셔닝을 통한 철저한 사전검증과정이 필수 불가결한 부분이다. 해저 파이프라인 예비커미셔닝 과정 중 하이드로테스팅 공정은 파이프라인 주위 온도변화에 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 알려져 있으나 이에 관한 이론적, 수치해석적 접근방법을 활용한 연구는 미미한 편이다. 본 연구에서는 해저 파이프라인의 예비커미셔닝 과정 중 하이드로테스팅 공정에 대해 과도열전달 해석법을 활용하여 내부 온도변화량 산정 및 이를 활용한 파이프라인 내부 압력변동량 예측법을 제시하였고 예측된 결과를 현장 실계측 데이터와 비교·검토하여 그 유효성을 입증하였다. 제안된 해석절차는 해저 파이프라인 설치 프로젝트 수행 사전단계에서부터 파이프라인 열전달 시뮬레이션을 통해 압력변동량 예측을 가능하게 함으로써 해저 파이프라인 설치 프로젝트의 생산성 향상에 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

        Although people generally do not pay much attention to scent, background music (BGM), color, etc. in retail or service environments, these in-store factors could potentially have a subtle yet powerful influence on customers. Through two experiments, this research examined whether the scent and music made people feel physically warm or cool, and their effect on the participants’ perception of space and social density. Regarding to participants’ subjective perception of temperature, between the warm scent (vanilla) and the cool scent (peppermint), and between the warm music (Träumerei by Schumann) and the cool music (Vocalise by Rachmaninov) are not significantly different. But I could observe that people in warm conditions felt physically warm compare to cool conditions. And there was a significant difference on participants’ perception of space and density. People in the vanilla-scented environment felt that the capacity of the room was smaller, the space was tighter, and the social density was higher. In the case of the music, the results were the same. People in the room with Träumerei as a BCM felt that the room was smaller, the space was tighter, and the social density was higher. Moreover, people in warm conditions chose a cold or room temperature drink when I offered three drink options (cold, warm, room temperature) as a token of my gratitude. In addition to the effect to perception, I found that people in warm conditions (both scent and music) were more persuaded by commercial message than in cool conditions. These results would contribute to expand our knowledge of store atmospherics and customer experience through ambient scent and BGM.

        Recently, measuring instruments for SHM of structures had being developed. In general, the wireless transmission of sensor signals, compared to its wired counterpart, is preferable due to its absence of triboelectric noise and elimination of the requirement for cumbersome cable. However, the research on the tall buildings with relatively small vibration levels is insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we used the wireless MEMS sensor and iPad to compare and analyze the vibration measurements of three tall buildings and two towers.

        The identification of damping ratios in buildings is a well-known problem and appears to be of important and crucial interest in the safety and serviceability design. When compared to an estimation of the stiffness, i.e. natural frequency, and mass, the damping ratio is the most difficult quantity to determine. Many previous studies have examined the characteristics of damping ratios from ambient vibration, but the measurement time is roughly within 2 hours. In this paper, characteristics of damping ratios and natural frequencies of 4 story RC building were investigated using long-term ambient vibration. Free vibrations were obtained using random decrement technique, and damping ratios were evaluated by the envelop function, continuous wavelet transform, and logarithmic decrement. It was found that although the natural frequencies show little variations with time, the damping ratios show some variations with time and the largest variations found in the damping ratios obtained from the continuous wavelet transform. The damping ratios from the envelop function showed the smallest mean and standard deviation. And the probability distribution of damping ratios seems to follow the logarithmic normal distribution.

        This study aims to analyze the effects of 4 directions of wind, wind speed, year of construction of slate roofs, installation area and other factors on the concentration and size distribution of airborne fiber particles in farmhouses with a slate roof containing asbestos. Airborne fiber particle samples were collected from the air in six houses with a slate roof containing asbestos using a high flow rate pump (10 L/min) for 2 hours, three times a day with a different condition, 72 times in total. The airborne fiber particle concentrations were measured using a phase contrast microscope, and the size of fiber particles of 72 samples in total was estimated using the mean value of those in each sample measured at 100 with a field of view. The total average concentration of fiber particles collected from in the air in four directions of the targeted farmhouses was 2.83 fiber/L, and its maximum concentration was 5.75 fiber/L, which means that among all samples there was no place that exceeded 10 fiber/L, a recommended indoor air quality standard. The average size of the fiber particles was 11.55 μm, and the maximum size was 40 μm. A multiple regression analysis of factors affecting the concentration and size of fiber particles in the air collected from the farmhouses with a slate roof containing asbestos found that the closer to the main wind direction (p<0.001) and the faster the average wind speed (p<0.05), the fiber particles concentration became significantly higher. In this case, the coefficient of determination was 52.8%. It was also found that the wider the total area of the slate roof (p<0.001) and the slower the average wind speed (p<0.05), the longer the fiber particles; the coefficient of determination for this finding was 19.6%. The concentration of fiber particles in the air of farmhouses with a slate roof appeared to be the highest under the main wind direction, and became significantly higher as the wind speed became faster. This proved that fiber particles were leaked from the slate roof. The size of the fiber particles became significantly longer as the area of the slate roof became wider and the wind speed became slower.
