        This study was carried out in order to provide the basic information for the development of medicinal plants in Ulleung island, Korea. This area had very rich and diverse flora; 495 taxa with l05 familes, 231 genera, 418 species, 1 subspeies, 63 varieties and 13 forms. The 94 medicinal plants were distributed in Ulleung. They were composed of 10 endemic species, 22 rare species and 62 economic species respectively.

        The objective of this study was determined to evaluate α-amylase, α-glucosidase, pancreatic lipase inhibition in vitro and DPPH radical scavenging activity of the several Korean resources plants. The α-amylase inhibitory activity of Salicornia herbacea, Erythronium japonicum (flower) and Phragmites communis (root) in water extract showed relatively high 62.8%, 66.5% and 69.3%, respectively. The α-amylase inhibitory activity of Citrus junos (pericarp) and Cornus officinalis in methanol extract was found to have an effect with 32.8% in Citrus junos (pericarp) and 60.9% in Cornus officinalis. Corylopsis coreana in both water and methanol extract had the highest α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of 81.7% and 89.5%, while the extract of Portulaca oleracea, Ficus carica and Citrus junos was not measured α-glucosidase inhibitory activity at given experiment concentration. Depending on the extraction solvent and the plant species, it was observed that there was a significant difference in α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. The pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity showed relatively higher in the methanol extract than water extract except pericarp of Citrus junos. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of selected plants was much difference between measured plant species, and showed that the increase was proportional to the concentration. These results suggested that selected plants had the potent biological activity on carbohydrate, lipid Inhibitory activity and antioxidant activity, therefore these plant resources could be a good materials to develop medicinal preparations, nutraceuticals or health functional foods for diabetes or obesity.

        The antioxidant potential and enzyme activities in Salicornia herbacea, Corylopsis coreana, Erythronium japonicum, Phragmites communis, Momordica Charantia, Nelumbo nucifera, Salvia plebeia, Portulaca oleracea, Ficus carica, Citrus junos and Cornus officinalis were determined. Their antioxidant activities were measured using DPPH radical scavenging and nitrite scavenging activity. Enzyme activities in investigated plants were evaluated as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX). The DPPH scavenging rate from 100 to 2500 mgL-1 was the highest in the flower of Corylopsis coreana. However, it was not detected in most of the samples at concentration below 100 mgL-1. The nitrite scavenging activity according to each kind of resource plants was significantly higher in the stem of Corylopsis coreana and leaf of Nelumbo nucifera. The root extract of Erythronium japonicum had the highest SOD enzyme activity of 94.0% while leaf of Salvia plebeia showed the lowest SOD enzyme activity of 30.4%. The activity of CAT and APX showed higher values in the stem of Corylopsis coreana, root of Erythronium japonicum and root of Phragmites communis in comparison with other plants. The activity of POD showed significantly high values in stem of Corylopsis coreana, Momordica Charantia and pericarp of Citrus junos extracts. The antioxidant enzyme activities differ significantly in different plants. In conclusion, we showed that Corylopsis coreana, Erythronium japonicum Cornus officinalis, and Momordica Charantia had the potent biological activities. Therefore, these plant resources showing antioxidant activity could be good materials for development of source of functional healthy food.

        본 연구는 화악산(931m)의 관속식물 분포를 파악하기 위하여 수행되었다. 2006년 5월부터 2007년 10월까지 6회에 걸쳐 채집된 관속식물은 총 92과 248속 281종 1아종 47변종 9품종의 총 338종류로 정리되었으며, 이는 한반도의 관속식물 4,881종류의 6.9%에 해당되었다. 조사 지역에서 분포하고 있는 338종류의 식물자원 유용도를 분석한 결과 총 278종류의 자원식물로 분류되었으며, 식용자원(E)은 154종류(55.3%), 약용자원(M)은 163종류(58.6%), 관상자원(O)은 58종류(20.8%), 초지자원(P)은 91종류(32.7%), 공업원료자원(I)은 22종류(7.9%), 목재자원(T)은 9종류(3.2%)로 나타났다. 특기할만한 식물로는 한국특산식물이 9종류, 산림청 지정희귀 및 멸종위기식물이 1종류, 식물구계학적 특정식물이 21종류, 귀화식물이 19종류로서 귀화율은 5.6%, 도시화지수는 6.8%로 나타났다.

        2005년 3월부터 11월까지 전북 강천산 군립공원에 자생하는 유관속식물을 대상으로 조사한 결과 조사지역내에 분포하는 식물은 97과 253속 328종 45변종 6품종 등 총 379분류군으로 관찰되었다. 조사 지역에서 분포하고 있는 379종류의 식물자원의 유용도를 분석한 결과 총 315종류의 자원식물로 분류되었으며, 식용자원(E)은 161종류(51.1%), 초지자원(P)은 121종류(38.4%), 약용자원(M)은 147종류(46.6%), 관상자원(O)은 82종류(26.0%), 목재자원(T)은 11종류(3.4%), 공업원료자원(I)은 14종류(4.4%)로 나타났다. 한국특산식물은 14과 16속 16분류군으로 조사지역내 분포하는 총 379분류군 중 약 4.2%이었으며, 특정식물 중 III~V등급 식물은 9과 9속 9분류군으로 소산식물 379분류군의 약 2.3%로 나타났으며, 진화식물은 11과 15속 14종 1변종의 15분류군으로 우리나라 전체 귀화식물 225 종류의 6.7%에 해당되었다.

        유관속식물을 대상으로 2003년 4월부터 11월까지 조사한 결과, 조사지역내에 분포하는 식물은 95과 279속 392종 53변종 5품종등 총 450분류군으로 관찰되었다. 본 지역에서 조사된 451종류의 식물자원의 유용도를 분석한 결과 총 372종류의 자원식물이 분류되었으며, 식용자원(E)은 191종류(51.0%), 초지자원(P)은 181종류(48%), 약용자원(M)은 153종류(41.0%), 관상자원(O)은 54종류(14.0%), 목재자원(T)은 18종류(5.3%)의 순으로 나타났다. 한국특산식물은 10과 13속 13분류군으로 조사지역내 분포하는 총 450분류군 중 약 2.9%이며, 특정식물 중 III IV V등급 식물은 6과 6속 6분류군로 소산식물 450분류군의 약 1.3%로 나타났으며, 귀화식물은 11과, 22속, 25분류군으로 우리나라 전체 귀화식물 225종류의 11.1%이다.

        This study aims to investigate the distribution of the useful resources plants and the flora of Deogyusan. The flora of Deogyusan was investigated from April in 2002 to November in 2003. Vascular plants of this area consist of total 549 taxa; 9 forma, 64 varieties, 476 species, 281 genera, 90 families. It corresponds to 13.5% of totally 4,071 taxa appeared in Korea. Useful plants of this area were investigated 399 taxa. It corresponds to 72.5% of collected plants in this area under our study. Among the useful plants, there are 205 taxa of edible source, 179 taxa of pasture source, 159 taxa of medicinal source, 70 taxa of ornamental source, 15 taxa of timber, and 17 taxa of industrial raw materials. Korean endemic plants were composed 18 families, 23 genera, 19 species, 4 varieties and totaling 25 taxa.

        Tonggo-san(1066.5m) is located at 36° 53' 00" - 36" 55' 00" in latitude, at 129° 10' 30" - 129° 13' 00" in longitude and on Seo-myeon, Uljin-gun and Subi-myeon, Yeongyang-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Tonggo-san shows the typical vegetation patterns including the middle area of temperate region of Korea represented by the secondary forests of Quercus mongolica and Q. dentata. There was no detailed result on the flora and vegetation of Tonggo-san until now. Therefore, we tried to discuss on the distribution and availability of vascular plants including economical plants. Also, we could discuss the especialized plants and their distributions according to the criteria by the Ministry of Environment. The results of plant collection and their investigation from April in 2001 to November in 2001 are as follows : The vascular plants consist of total 565 taxa; 17 forms, 82 varieties, 466 species, 297 genera, 94 families,37 orders, 4 classes, 2 subphyla. In this area, there were a lot of useful economic plants such as 232 taxa(41%) of edible source, 222 taxa(39%) of forage source, 183 taxa(32%) of medicinal source, and 72 taxa(12%) of ornamental source, 15 taxa(2.6%) timber source, 7 taxa(1.2%) industrial raw material source respectively. Among them, the Korean endemic plants were 22 taxa(3.9% among total 565 taxa); 1 forms, 2 varieties, 19 species, 22 genera, 16 families. And rare and endangered plants was 1 taxa; Astragatus membranaceus. Also, the naturalized plants were 19 taxa(3.4% among total 565 taxa and 10.4% among the total naturalized plants in Korea).

        인류와 식물과의 관계는 문화가 발전되어 오는 과정에 더 깊어만 갔다. 생활주변과 국토안에 자생하는 식물의 이용면도 주의 깊게 채구되어 왔고, 더러는 외국원산의 식물을 도입하여 그 이용법을 알아내기도 하였다. 외국원산의 식물중 일부는 중국을 거쳐 들어왔다. 우리 나라는 중국과 인접해 있을 뿐만 아니라 고대로 부터 오늘에 이르기까지 인적 물적교류가 계속되고 있는데서 더욱 그러했다. 서남 아시아 원산이나 인도 및 열대.아열대지방원산의 식물이 중국으로 도래된 것은 기원 수세기전부터 7세기까지에 이루어 졌다. 그리고 그들 식물중 일부는 3~4세기경에 우리 나라에 들어 왔거나 그보다도 더 일찍 도래된 것 같다.(중략)
