        We used Brewster’sLaw to examine the mechanism of liquid crystal(LC) alignment on anorganic insulation layer when subjected to ion-beam irradiation. Brewster’s Law implies that the maximum rate polarized ray on a slanted insulation layers on the substrate and it illustrates the dependence of polarization and the mechanical structure on the ionbeam irradiation process. The pretilt angle of nematic LCs on the organic insulation surface was about 1.13° for an ionbeam exposure of 45° for 1minute at 1800eV. This shows the dependence of LC alignment on the polarization ratio in a slanted organic insulation layer.

        This study discussed the effects of inclined interface location to apply the design of inclined interface of composite materials subjected to shear loading. The fracture parameters are analyzed by finite element method of ANSYS. As a results, If in case of the angle of inclination is 45 degrees, inclined interface is longer and the crack tip is closer, the less the crack suppression effect. If the inclined interface location is a more than twice the length of the inclined interface, the effect of suppressing crack propagation are constant regardless of the location. In case of the inclined interface is longer and the crack tip is closer, the cause of increase of energy release rate is a due to the increase of shear stress. If in case of the angle of inclination is 90 degrees, inclined interface is closer to the crack tip, the better the crack suppression effect. If the inclined interface location is a less than twice the length of the inclined interface, the effect of suppressing crack propagation are dominant. And if the inclined interface location is a more than twice the length of the inclined interface, crack suppression effect is gradually reduced.

        This paper presents the theoretical analysis for the flow driven by surface tension and gravity force in an inclined circular tube. The previously developing equation for Power-Law model is a simple ordinary differential type. A governing equation is developed for describing the displacement of a non-Newtonian fluid(Casson model) that continuously flows into a circular tube by surface tension, which represents a second-order, nonlinear, non-homogeneous, and ordinary differential form. It was found that the theoretical predictions of the governing equation were in good agreement with the results for considering the Newtonian model.

        This study was discussed with the friction effects due to surface roughness of the interface between the base material and a reinforcement at the downward inclined interfacial crack under shear loading. The fracture parameter are analyzed by finite element method of the ANSYS. As the friction coefficient of the surface is assumed zero and 0.3, the fracture is analyzed. This study was analyzed with inclination angles about 0 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees. As the results, at the inclination angle of 0, the energy release rate is reduced by about 3%. About 16%, and 2% are decreased at 45 degree and 90 degree respectively. If the inclination angle is 45 degrees, the friction effect by the sliding resistance between the interface was found to be most effective.

        This study discusses the length effect of the downward inclined surface to apply the inclined interface surface design of the composite material under shear loading. The fracture parameter is analyzed by finite element method of the ANSYS. If the negative shear displacement is applied, energy release rate is reduced further to about the increasing inclined length, and the positive shear displacement applied, it had increased rather. If the negative shear displacement is applied, the reduction in the energy release rate in crack tip is found to be affected by the reduction in shear stress. If the positive shear displacement is applied, the increasing in the energy release rate in the crack tip is found to be affected by the increase in shear stress.

        Background: Gait problems appear in most stroke patients. Commonly, stroke patients show the typical abnormal gait patterns, such as circumduction, genu recurvatum, and spastic paretic stiff-legged gait. An inclined treadmill gait exercise is good for gait problems of stroke patients. In addition, the backward walking training has been recommended in order to improve the component of the movement for the forward walking. Objects: The purpose of this study to investigated the effects of backward walking with inclined treadmill training on the gait in chronic stroke patients. Methods: A total of 30 volunteers were randomly allocated to two groups that walked on an inclined treadmill: the experimental group (n1=15), which walked backward, and the control group (n2=15), which walked forward. To measure the improvement of the patients’ gait, a Figure of Eight Walking Test (F8W), Four Square Step Test (FSST), and Functional Gait Assessment (FGA) were performed. We also measured spatio-temporal gait variables, including gait speed, cadence, stride length, and single limb support using a three-axial wireless accelerometer. The measurements were taken before and after the experiment. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare both groups before and after the interventions. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for the comparisons after the interventions. The statistical significance was set at α=.05. Results: Before and after experiment, all dependent variables were significantly different between the two groups (p<.05). As compared to the control group, the experimental group showed more significant improvements in F8W, FSST, speed, cadence, stride length, and single limb support (p<.05); however, FGA in this group was not significantly different from the control (p>.05). Conclusion: Our results suggest that backward walking on an inclined treadmill is more effective for improving the gait of stroke patients than forward walking.

        In this study, the effect of downward inclined interface about interfacial crack of bimaterials are discussed. The fracture parameter are analyzed by finite element method of the ANSYS. The energy release rates, displacement jump and stress distribution were analyzed as the gradient variation of inclined interfaces. As a results, in case of positive shear displacement was applied, the energy release rates not varied with gradient of inclined interface increasing. However in case of negative shear displacement was applied, the energy release rates decreased with gradient of inclined interface increasing. Due to the inclined interface contact, the shielding effect relatively increased as the gradient of inclined interface was increased.

        This paper presents the theoretical analysis for the flow driven by surface tension and gravity force in an inclined circular tube. The present study introduces detailed mathematical procedures for Casson viscosity model. The equations of velocity distribution and flow rate are developed to describe the displacement of a non-Newtonian fluid that continuously flew into a circular tube by surface tension. The equation of modified volumetric flow shows the complicated form of (10) due to yield stress term, and the equation of velocity distribution which includes the yield stress and inclination angle of circular tube is composed of terms of r and rc as form of (14).

        In this study, tapered double cantilever beam bonded with aluminum foam composite is modelled and analyzed by finite element analysis. The bonding strength on Mode II of this structure is evaluated and investigated. In cases of inclined angles of 6°, 8° and 10°, maximum equivalent stresses occur 1.29, 1.59 and 2.6 MPa respectively at the range of forced displacement of 5 to 6 mm. And maximum reaction forces become 186, 208 and 235 N individually at this range of displacement in these cases. By the analysis result on 3 kinds of models, the maximum reaction load increases as angle of inclination of model increases. And the elapsed time to approach the maximum load and the time to disappear away become shorter. This study result can be applied into the real composite structure with aluminum foam in case that the surface bonded with adhesive is inclined. This fracture behavior can also be investigated and the impact property can be examined

        장대 현수교 보강거더의 가설순서는 다양한 방식에 대해서 검토가 이루어지며, 플러터 안정성의 확보를 위한 가설계획 수립에는 3차원 전체교량 모형실험과 정밀한 플러터 해석기술이 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 구조적 특이성으로 인해 다양한 진동모드간의 상호간섭이 예측되는 3차원 경사주탑 현수교를 대상으로, 풍하중에 의한 정적변형을 고려한 고유치해석과 영각변화에 따른 비정상공기력계수의 변화를 동시에 고려한, 플러터 해석방법의 적용성을 검토하였다.

        Socheong island is a unique island containing Precambrian stromatolites in South Korea. Most of Socheong stromatolites are domes and columns, occurring as 10 cm to 1 m thick stromatolite beds. Lower parts of the stromatolite beds are predominantly composed of domes, but columns increase toward the upper level of stromatolite beds. In many of the stromatolite beds, inclined columns are easily identifiable, which is generally considered as a result of heliotropism. From general lithology, sedimentary structures, inclined angles and distributional pattern, and structural deformation of sedimentary rocks of Socheong island, the inclination of Socheong stromatolites could be better interpreted as a secondary structural deformation probably after formation of stromatolite columns, rather than as a result of heliotropism. However, at this moment, we do not clearly reject heliotropism interpretation for inclined columns of Socheong stromatolites. This is because the original position of stromatolite columns could have been lost if structural deformation had affected the whole sedimentary rocks of Socheong island.

The governing equation is developed to describe the displacement of a Newtonian fluid that continuously flew into a circular tube by surface tension, which represents a second-order, nonlinear, nonhomogeneous and ordinary differencial form. It was found that the theoretical predictions of the governing equation were excellent agreement with the unsteady state solutions for horizontal tube and the results of force balance equation for steady state.

        최근 진행되고 있는 건축 프로젝트는 기존의 정형적인 구조계획에서 벗어나 점차 복합적이고 다양한 형태를 지향하고 있다. 이와 같은 새로운 건축 트렌드 속에서, 비정형 건축물의 구조 시스템을 효율적으로 현실화하여 골조의 직교성을 해체시키는 기술에 대한 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 비정형 건축물의 중요한 구조적 특징 중 하나로 경사기둥의 빈번한 적용을 들 수 있다. 경사기둥은 접합된 보에 추가적으로 모멘트와 축력을 전달하므로, 이러한 현상이 골조 및 보-기둥 접합부의 거동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실험 혹은 해석을 통해 검증할 필요가 있다. 그러나 수직기둥-보 접합부에 비하면 경사기둥-보 접합부에 대한 연구는 현재까지 충분한 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비선형해석 및 유한요소해석을 사용하여 경사기둥을 포함한 보-기둥 접합부의 성능을 평가하였다. 경사기둥을 포함한 철골모멘트 골조의 비선형정적해석을 통하여 골조 전체의 거동을 분석하였고, 경사기둥-보 접합부 모델의 유한요소해석을 통해 좌굴거동 및 취성파단 잠재성을 검토하였다.

        An experimental method, based upon wall visualizations, has been developed to observe air flow near a plane wall around a row of five 45° inclined jets discharging into a cross stream. This study concerns the variation of injection rate R which is one of the most important parameters governing this flow type. The Results are concentrated on the spatial evolution of two lobes with R. These structures are fastened to jets downstream edge and exist for very low injection rate values which are an indication of jets takeoff at the immediate downstream of injection orifices. The velocity rate of 0.42 marks a change in the structure alimentation system.

        센싱 기술의 발달로 다양한 종류의 매체를 이용한 우수한 차량 검지장비들이 개발되고 있는 요즘, 간단한 구조의 저가형 검지장비 또한 적은 예산으로 여러 곳에 설치할 수 있다는 장점 때문에 지속적인 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 저가형 차량 검지장비로서 센서를 사선으로 설치하여 좌우 및 전후 바퀴의 통과시간 간격과 차량의 윤거값을 적용하여 차량속도를 추정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 출고된 차량의 제원조사에서 얻어진 대표 윤거값을 축거와 뒤윤거의 비율에 따라 소형과 대형 차량으로 구분하여 적용하므로 기존의 연구보다 정확한 속도추정이 가능하도록 개선하였다. 특히, 소형과 대형차량을 구분하는 파라미터를 통하여 조사지점의 차종구성 비율을 고려한 정확도 보정이 가능하다. 간단하고 저가로 개발된 본 연구의 사선형 센서를 이용한 검지장비는 적은 비용으로 교통상황을 설명하는데 효율적으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

        기울어진 자전축을 갖는 회전계에서, 일정한 각속도로 회전하는 동서풍이 있는 경우에 대해서 로스비하우어비츠 파동의 섹터모드(적도에 대한 반구 비대칭의 첫 번째 모드)와 균형을 이루는 지위고도장을 해석적으로 유도하였다. 균형장은 발산방정식으로부터 시간변화를 제거하고 라플라시안 연산자를 역산함으로써 구하였다. 역산은 비선형항의 계산과 포이슨 방정식의 해를 구하는 두 단계의 연산과정으로 이루어져 있다. 두 번째 단계에서, 구면조화함수로 표현되는 강제력의 항은 구면조화함수의 선형관계를 이용하였고, 그 이외의 항은 구면조화함수를 적분함으로써 구하였다. 균형장은 여섯 개의 동서파수 성분으로 표현됨이 드러났다. 본 연구에서 구한 균형장은 적도에 대하여 비대칭의 구조를 가지기 때문에, 대칭의 구조만을 가지는 것에 비하여 미분방정식의 수치해의 검종법으로서의 활용도가 높다. 일정한 각속도를 갖는 배경 동서풍이 지구의 자전각속도와 같거나 1/2에 해당하는 경우에는, 일부 동서파수 성분이 제거되는 것으로 나타났다. 이론적으로 구한 균형장은 정교한 수치모델을 통하여 구한 균형장과 거의 정확하게 같은 것으로 밝혀져, 이론적 해의 타당성이 입증되었다. 마지막으로, 로스비하우어비츠 파동의 섹터모드와 균형을 이루는 지위고도장의 안정성을 장기간시간적분을 통하여 살펴보았다.

        For steel structure, corrosion damage should be considered because it is related to durability and structural performacne of steel structure. In this study, therefore, compressive loading tests of inclined steel members were conducted to examine change in the compressive strength depending on corrosion damage applied by mechanical process. From loading tests, compressive behavior and change in structural capacity of inclined steel members with corrosion were compared.
