We report the synthesis and gas sensing properties of bare and ZnO decorated TeO2 nanowires (NWs). A catalyst assisted-vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth method was used to synthesize TeO2 NWs and ZnO decoration was performed using an Au-catalyst assisted-VLS growth method followed by a subsequent heat treatment. Structural and morphological analyses using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning/transmission electron microscopies, respectively, demonstrated the formation of bare and ZnO decorated TeO2 NWs with desired phase and morphology. NO2 gas sensing studies were performed at different temperatures ranging from 50 to 400 oC towards 50 ppm NO2 gas. The results obtained showed that both sensors had their best optimal sensing temperature at 350 oC, while ZnO decorated TeO2 NWs sensor showed much better sensitivity towards NO2 relative to a bare TeO2 NWs gas sensor. The reason for the enhanced sensing performance of the ZnO decorated TeO2 NWs sensor was attributed to the formation of ZnO (n)/ TeO2 (p) heterojunctions and the high intrinsic gas sensing properties of ZnO.

Since 1995, the small and medium enterprise introduced the Quality Innovation Program that is called 100PPM Quality Renovation Program. A point of 2000, the program's name was changed by Single PPM Quality Innovation Program in pursuit of defects below 10ppm in outgoing quality. Nowaday 1,651 companies is received Single PPM Quality Certification from government at the end of 2008. On the other side, the return or withdrawal of certification is going on because of various reasons. In this study, we analyse the status of certification's preservation and cancellation, and suggest the cooperation ideas between government and companies.

This paper presents various interval estimation methods of binomial proportion for small n in multi-product small volume production and extremely small ^P like PPM or PPB fraction of defectives. This study classifies interval estimation of binomial proportion into three categories such as exact, approximate, Bayesian methods. These confidence intervals proposed in this paper can be applied to attribute process capability and attribute acceptance sampling plan for PPM or PPB.

Quality management has been applied to the industry for strengthening the competitiveness regardless of the size of company. However, it has been argued that the operational models for quality management used in the large-sized enterprise could not be applied to the small & medium-sized enterprise (SME) directly. This paper analyzes the states and outcomes of movements for quality innovation in the SME and tries to give some suggestions for improving and spreading the movements within the framework of the cooperation with the large sized company. Survey results show that the preferable quality movements depends on the size of company. Especially, the Single PPM movement is most preferable in the SME. It contributes th decreasing the fraction defective and to vitalizing the communication and cooperation between large-sized company and SME.

In this study, we find the bottleneck factor for promotion and upgrade S-PPM, and suggest a way out of difficulties.
