The purpose of this study was to investigate alteration of chemical properties in red leaf lettuces(Lactuca sativa L.) exposed to digital music every day. The red leaf lettuces were cultivated in two hydroponic systems composed of two layers. In the first experiment, the red leaf lettuces with treatment were exposed to the digital music, while the lettuces under control condition were not exposed to the digital music. At harvest(6 weeks after planting), fresh weight and chlorophyll content were measured and compared the treatment with the control group. Subsequently, red leaf lettuces of the next experiment were compared to fresh weight, chlorophyll, ascorbic acid and anthocyanin content during different vegetation growth stages(4 weeks and 6 weeks after planting). The comparison of data for all experiment was also divided into upper and lower parts because of the difference of temperature in hydroponic systems. As a results, fresh weight and anthocyanin of the red leaf lettuces might be influenced by the difference of temperature variations. Chlorophyll of the red leaf lettuces was not easily influenced by digital music and difference of temperature. It was also shown that ascorbic acid as inactive molecule was not easily influenced by physical response like music.
본 연구의 목적은 폐쇄형 식물생산시스템에서 세가지 혼합 LED와 형광등에서 자란 적치마 상추의 생육과 광 이용효율을 비교하는 것이다. 18일간 육묘한 적치마상추 묘를 적색(R, 655nm), 청색(B, 456nm), 녹색(G, 515nm), 백색(W, 456nm + 558nm)의 혼합 LED(R:B=8:2, R:W:B =8:1:1, R:G:B=8:1:1)와 형광등이 설치된 폐쇄형 식물생산시스템에 정식하였다. 형광등에서 자란 상추는 모든 LED 처리에 비해 유의적으로 높은 엽형지수를 보였다. 지상부와 지하부 생육에서 LED 처리간 유의적 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 모든 LED 처리가 형광등에 비해 약 34% 지상부 생체중의 증가를 유도시켰다. 한편, 정식 후 4주차에 형광등의 총 소비 전력은 145kW인 반면, LED 처리구들에서 형광등의 약 1/3배인 54kW를 나타냈다. LED 처리구들의 건물중에 대비한 광 이용 효율은 약 34mg/W였으며, 이는 형광등 보다 약 3.5배 높은 값이었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 식물 생산 시스템에서 적절한 조합의 LED 조사는 형광등에 비해 상추 생장을 증진시킬 수 있으며 추가적으로 에너지 절감을 통해 광 이용효율도 극대화 할 수 있음을 보여주었다.
The light treatments were composed of red, blue, white, far-red, red+far-red, red+blue, red+blue+white LEDs and duty ratio(%) of mixed light red+blue (100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75), red+blue+white (100, 85, 70). The following results were obtained in different LED light sources treatment: Red leaf lettuce’s leaf number were the most under white LED. Leaf size was the highest under red+blue LEDs and shoot length was the longest under red+far-red LEDs. Shoot were the heaviest under red LED. Blue leaf lettuce’s leaf number and shoot length were high under all light treatment except far-red LED. Each vertical and width length of leaves were the longest under red+blue LEDs, white LED. Leaf number of red leaf lettuce were more in 85%-100% duty ratio than in 75, 80% duty ratio and leaf size was highest in 100% duty ratio under the mixed light red+blue LEDs. Shoot length was the highest in 90% duty ratio. Blue leaf lettuce’s leaf number and shoot length showed no difference in LED light treatment. Leaf size was the highest in each 100, 95%. Shoot and root biomass were highest in 95%. Shoot length of red leaf lettuce was the highest in 70% duty ratio nunder the mixed light of red+blue+white. The others showed no difference in duty ratio. Blue leaf lettuce’s leaf number, shoot length and biomass were the highest in 85% duty ratio. Thus, we can cultivate stably without reference to external factors, if we use appropriate light sources and light quality in closed-type plant factory.
식물공장 내 생육과 안토시아닌 함량을 동반 제고시킬 수 있는 최적 광조사 방법을 구명하고자 적색광과 청색광의 비율 및 단기간 광질변화 조건을 달리하여 어린잎 상추의 생육 및 안토시아닌 색소발현 양상을 비교 평가하였다. 적색광 단일파장에서 어린잎 상추의 생육이 가장 좋았으며 혼합광, 청색광 및 형광등의 순으로 생육이 억제되었다. 어린잎 상추의 엽내 총 안토시아닌 함량은 청색광과 적색광의 혼합광(R57-B43) 처리에 의해 적색광 단일광원 조건에 비해 4.1배, 형광등(FL) 조건에 비해 6.9배 각각 증가되었다. 청색광의 혼합비율이 43%까지 순차적으로 높아짐에 따라 생육은 억제되었으나 상대 엽록소 함량과 적색도의 발현은 크게 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 수확전 9일간 적색 단일광으로의 광질변환시 생육은 크게 증진된 반면 색소는 급격하게 소실되었으며 반대로 혼합광으로의 광질변환시에는 생육속도는 감소한 대신 안토시아닌 색소함량은 형광등과 적색광에 비해 크게 높아졌다. 따라서 수확 전의 단기간 광질변환 시 적색광의 비율이 높은 광원조건에서 생육을 촉진시킨 후 적색과 청색의 동등 혼합광원으로 변환할 경우 생산성을 유지하면서 고품질의 고색도 상추를 생산할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.
The effects of seawater on growth of fettuce(Lactuca sativa L.), leaf perilla(perilIa frutescens var. japonica Hara), red pepper(Capsicum annuum L.) and cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings were investigated in the glass greenhouse. These effects were studied on seedlings, and diluted seawater (1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 50%, 100% v/v) was sprayed enough on feaves. The tested four vegetable crops have well grown up to 10% diluted seawater, but the tested vegetable crops were damaged from increasing salt levels. Of these, lettuce was provided salt-tolerant vegetable crop and red pepper was considered salt-sensitive vegetable crop. The salt tolerance of vegetable crops is different between crops and complicated because of additional detrimental effects caused by accumulated ions or specific ion toxicities in their leaves. These results show that agricultural use of seawater may be benefit crop cultivation in organic farming system as well as in conventional farming system.
‘춘풍적축면’은 ‘포자비적축면’과 ‘먹치마’를 교배 육성한 잎상추로 누운타원형 잎을 가진 축면 상추이다. 2000년 교배하여 2007년까지 계통육종법에 선발과 고정을 하였다. 전국 6개 지역(대관령, 경기, 충북, 전북, 경남, 제주)에서 2년간 봄, 여름, 가을 재배하였을 때 평균 2,069 kg/10a을 나타내어 기존 품종보다 주당 53매 정도의 잎을 수확할 수 있으며, 주당 무게는 평균 372 g으로 6% 수량성이 많은 품종이다. ‘춘풍적축면’은
A new red leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) cultivar, “Jangsu” which has late bolting and good red expression leaf color was developed from a cross of “Yeolpungcheokchima” (late bolting and high yield) and “Seoulyakchima” (dark red color). The selection and breeding of advanced lines were done by pedigree method during 2000-2004. The advanced lines were evaluated for yield and adaptability in Korea (Gangwon, Kyunggi, Chungbuk, Kyungnam, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju) from 2005 to 2006. The “Jangsu” has gray seed color and elliptic thick leaves. Compared to “Yeolpungcheokchima”, marketable yield of “Jangsu” was lower by 10% (at 469 g per plant), but with particularly improved good expression of red leaf color in high temperature cultivation in the field. The shelf-life of “Jangsu” was three weeks longer than “Yeolpungcheokchima” at 4℃. The amount of bitter sesquiterpene lactones (BSL) and sugar content of “Jangsu” were similar with “Yeolpungcheokchima” at 46 ㎍/g and 4.8 brix, respectively, but taste is better, more crispy, and sweeter than “Yeolpungcheokchima”.
