        Along with the increasing interest in integrated writing in L2 instruction, many studies have investigated language skills and cognitive processes involved in the task. However, relatively less is known regarding the roles of strategic and affective variables in predicting writing performance. The current study, therefore, investigates (a) how strategy, attitudinal, affective, and ability variables are related, and (b) how these variables predict performance in integrated writing. Predictor variables include proficiency, reading comprehension, vocabulary size, L2 strategy use, and attitudes toward reading and writing, and anxiety. Forty-three participants completed an L2 reading-writing integrated task, in which they read reading texts and wrote an essay summarizing the source text and arguing their opinions on the issue. Results showed that proficiency was positively related to reading-to-write strategies, and vocabulary size negatively to reading anxiety; however, ability-related variables generally had no or weak relationships with affective variables. Furthermore, only reading comprehension and reading anxiety were found to be significant predictors of performance in integrated writing.

        후쿠시마 원자력 발전소 사고 이후 한국 정부는 일본북부지역에서 생산되는 수산물 수입을 금지하였다. 한국과 일본 사이 수산물 분쟁은 아직 진행중이며 소비자들은 식품안전에 위협을 받고 있다. 이 연구는 소비자의 일본수산물에 대한 위험인식과 위험행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 밝히기 위함이다. 이를 위해 2012년 9월부터 10월까지 1,500명의 성인을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였다. 분석결과 일본산 수산물에 대한 위험인식에서 감정의 역할이 확인되었는데, 일본산 수산물에 대해 부정적인 감정을 느끼고 있는 개인은 해당 제품에 대한 위험 인식이 높았다. 또 부정적인 감정은 수산물 구입행동에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 운명주의적 성향은 수산물 구입행동에 유의한 변수가 아닌 것으로 나타났다.

        In the present study, the general characteristics, job stress, working conditions, and aspects of pain of some industrial workers working in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, were surveyed. In analyzing the relationship between job stress and the existence of pain, the variables “working speed” and“ opportunities to develop abilities” were shown to have statistically significant relationships with the existence of pain (p≤.05). Regarding the relationship between working conditions and the existence of pain, the variables“ amount of work per hour,“” amount of work per day,“” number of parts handled during work,“” work production per person,” and“ inconvenient postures or motions during work” were shown to have statistically significant relationships with the existence of pain(P≤.05). Regarding aspects of pain“, within 1~3 years” was the most common answer to time of occurrence of symptoms, with a percentage of 27.6%“; appear almost always” was the most common answer to frequency of symptoms, with a percentage of 37.1%;“ slight pain” was the most common answer to degree of pain, with a percentage of 50.5%; and“ moderate” was the most common answer to encumbrance caused by pain to living and work, with a percentage of 41.2%. The aim of the present study was to determine the factors that affect pain due to musculoskeletal diseases in industrial workers and to define the aspects of pain in order to provide basic data for the preparation of measures to prevent musculoskeletal diseases. To control pain due to musculoskeletal diseases, factors that affect pain, as well as the aspects of pain, should be recognized early, and efforts should be made to supplement and improve systems for preventing recurrence.

        본 연구는 인적자원관행의 보편적 접근법을 토대로 하여 인적자원관행이 기업성과에 미치는 영향과 IMF 이후 비정규직비율이 급격하게 증가하면서 고용불안을 야기하는 현 상황에서 달라진 고용형태, 즉 비정규직 비중이 인적자원관행과 기업성과 간 관계에 미치는 조절효과를 분석하는데 초점을 두고 있다. 분석 결과, 성과배분보상과 고용안정협약은 주관적 재무성과와 유의한 관계를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 고용안정협약은 가설과 달리 주관적 재무성과에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 노동생산성에 대해서는 성과배분보상, 직무분석 실시와 종업원 참여가 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다 인적자원관행과 기업성과에 대한 비정규직비율의 조절효과를 실증 분석한 결과, 비정규직 비율 이 높을 경우 공식훈련제도, 직무분석, 종업원 참여와 같은 전략적 인적자원관행의 중요성이 더욱 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 비정규직비율이 높을 경우 종업원에 대한 공식훈련이 더욱 필요하고 직무분석 실 시와 종업원의 경영계획에 대한 의견을 반영하는 노력이 기업성과에 긍정적인 효과를 주는 것으로 확인 되었다. 본 연구는 보편적인 인적자원관행이라고 여겨졌으나 기업을 둘러싸고 있는 여러 상황이 변화함 에 따라 모범사례(best practice)라고 여겼던 일부 인적자원관행이 현 기업 상황에 맞지 않을 수 있다는 점과 비정규직 비율이 높을 경우 보편적인 인적자원관행(human resource practices)의 실시는 더욱 더 중요한 시스템이라는 점을 시사하고 있다. 연구 결과를 토대로 연구의 한계점과 향후 연구방향에 대해 논의하였다.

        본 연구의 목적은 직무스트레스 요인 중 도전요인과 방해요인이 조직 구성원의 신체적 증상과 종업원 인게이지먼트에 미치는 영향을 확인하는 것이다. 그 과정에서 긍정정서의 매개역할을 검증하였다. 연구를 위해 서울에 거주하는 20세 이상 남녀 직장인을 대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 총 378개의 설문지를 분석 에 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 직무스트레스 요인 중 긍정적 요인인 도전요인은 신체적 증상 중에서 수면장애를 유의하게 감소시켰다. 또한 직무인게이지먼트를 유의하게 향상시켰지만, 조직인게이지먼트에는 유의 한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 반면 직무스트레스 요인 중에서 부정적 요인인 방해요인은 신체적 증상 중에서 수면장애, 두통, 소화기 증상 및 상기도 감염 모두 유의하게 증가시켰다. 방해요인은 직무인게이지먼트와 조직인게이지먼트 모두에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한 긍정정서는 도전요인이 수면장애에 미치는 영향과 도전요인이 직무인게이지먼트와 조직인게이지먼트에 미치는 영향을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내 관련 연구 분야에서 처음으로 직무스트레스 요인을 도전요인과 방해요인으로 구분하여 연구함으로써 직무스트레스의 긍정적 요인을 이론적으로 발전시켰다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 본 연 구의 결과는 조직 차원에서 방해요인은 줄이고, 도전요인은 장려함으로써 조직 구성원의 신체적 증상을 줄이고, 직무 및 조직에 더 몰입할 수 있도록 제도를 보완해야 한다는 것을 시사한다.

        East Nusa Tenggara (ENT) is one of seven provinces in the eastern region of Indonesia that contribute to the large number of out of school children (OOSC). A research study has been carried out to investigate the characteristics of OOSC and to determine the statistical model explaining factors that influence the OOSC occurrence in the age group 13 – 15 years in ENT. Data of OOSC were obtained from the Education Department and Regional Planning Board in 6 selected districts in ENT that were produced from the community based education information system (CBEIS) survey in coordination with UNICEF Kupang in 2013. The districts were Sikka, Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS), West Sumba, East Sumba, Central Sumba and the City of Kupang. A response variable of the study was the state of the children’s education with the category ‘yes’ for school and ‘no’ for out of school. Data was then analysed using descriptive analysis and multiple logistic regression method. The analysis shows that there were 795 OOSC in 10350 children in the junior high school age group. The majority of them are males, living in the country side, have farmer parents, are from families with wealth quintile on the bottom class and have mothers with no education. Logistic analysis on the best model shows that literacy, working status, disability, occupation of household heads, wealth quintile, possession of birth certificate, living status are the factors that significantly affect the number of OOSC in the 13-15 age group. Odds ratio values of the first three factors are 26.5; 12.8 and 7.5 respectively.

        The purpose of this study was to analyze factors affecting acceptance of four kinds of dak-jjim samples in third year schoolaged children (n=100). Soy sauce, red pepper paste, Vietnam fish sauce, and star anise were applied to samples for their familiar and exotic characteristics. Significant differences among samples were observed in odor, taste, and acceptance (p<0.001). Soy (Soy sauce sample), RPPaste (Red pepper paste sample), and Soy_FishS (Soy sauce and Vietnam fish sauce sample) samples scored higher than Soy_StarA (Soy sauce and star anise sample) sample. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in intensities of saltiness, sweetness, and hot spicy flavor (p>0.05). Liked attributes in samples were saltiness, sweetness, chicken flavor, potato flavor, moistness of chicken, hot spicy flavor, and color. Disliked attributes in samples were hot spicy flavor, saltiness, and ginger flavor. Significant differences among samples were observed in familiar intensity and willing to try again (p<0.001). Soy, RPPaste, and Soy_FishS samples scored higher than Soy_StarA sample. Panels considered taste (46%) and nutrition (45%). Higher familiar intensity of sample was associated with higher acceptance in samples. In other words, familiarity of food affects acceptance of food. Therefore, familiar ingredients such as soy sauce and chicken can be used for development of Korean menu items considering taste and nutrition with enhanced Korean food acceptance in school-aged children.

        양파는 Allium에 속하는 조미채소로 한국을 포함한 동아시아 지역에서 경제적으로 중요한 작물이다. 본 연구에서는 슈퍼생생과 뉴마르스 양파 2개 품종의 인경 부위를 이용하여 kinetin 농도 별 백색 체세포배 캘러스 형성율을 조사하였다. 양파의 백색 체세포배 캘러스를 얻기 위하여 실시된 배양 조건은 1mg/L 2.4-D를 첨가한 B5배지를 기본으로 25℃ Dark에서 배양하였다. 관찰하고자 한 kinetin의 농도는 0mg/L, 0.1mg/L, 0.3mg/L, 1mg/L, 3mg/L로 정하여 실험하였으며, MSB배지에서 배양된 2개 품종의 양파인경을 얇게 잘라 B5배지에 치상하였다. 양파의 인경 조직 중 가장 안쪽 부분부터 반응이 시작되어 백색 체세포 배 캘러스가 형성되는 것을 kinetin 농도 별로 배양한 2주 후부터 관찰할 수 있었다. 양파 2개 품종의 인경 조직을 B5배지에 배양한 8주 후에 백색 체세포 배 캘러스 형성율을 조사하였다. 그 결과 슈퍼생생과 뉴마르스의 인경 조직에서 1mg/L 2,4-D와 0.3mg/L 그리고 1mg/L kinetin이 혼용처리 된 B5배지에서 73%와 66.7%로가장 높게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 확립된 슈퍼생생과 뉴마르스의 인경 조직을 이용한 백색 체세포배 캘러스 형성 조사 결과는 추후 양파의 식물체 재분화 유도 및 대량증식 연구분야에 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

        The authors of this research show that gender plays a role in whether public star ratings of branded content films (e.g., ratings on Rotten Tomatoes) and increased awareness of surroundings differentially affect movie viewers’ willingness to spread word-of-mouth about films. For men, no matter whether they have high or low awareness of surroundings, a higher versus lower star rating uniformly enhances the likelihood they will recommend the film to others. In contrast, for women, momentarily heightened awareness of their surroundings enhances (diminishes) the likelihood of recommending the higher (lower) star-rated film. If women have low awareness of their surroundings, however, the differences do not emerge.

        책임판단의 대상은 자유로운 의사와 그 의사에 기인하여 실현된 행위이다. 이러한 책임의 근거는 행위자에게 달리 행동할 수 있는 가능성이 있었다는 것이며, 이는 의사자유를 전제로 하고 있다. 하지만 최근의 일부 연구에 의하면 인간에게는 의사를 결정할 수 있는 자유는 존재하지 않고, 인간이 자유롭게 결정할 수 있다는 인식은 단지 망상 내지 착각에 불과하다. 물론 뇌신경과학의 새로운 발견들이 여러 가지 흥미로운 결과를 제시하고 있기는 하지만, 적어도 의사자유나 책임과 같은 주제에 대해 지금까지의 논의에서 간과하거나 새롭게 고려할 만한 자료를 제시하는데 성공했다고 판단하기에는 무리가 있어 보인다. 그러나 의사자유가 우리 인식체계에 포착되지 않는다 할지라도 우리를 규정하는데 매우 중요한 문제이기 때문에 앞으로도 계속 많은 연구자들이 의사형성과정의 본질을 파헤치기 위하여 모종의 시도를 할 가능성이 높으며, 최근의 과학 발전 속도를 고려하면 이와 같은 문제제기는 더 빈번해 질 가능성이 높다. 특히 뇌신경과학의 발달은 특별예방적 단초로 활용되어 전통적인 제제의 대안으로 치료를 전면에 내세우는 결과를 초래할 수도 있으며, 더 나아가 의사자유를 전제로 하는 도의적 책임론을 벗어나 사회의 질서유지와 개인의 기본권을 보다 더 확실하게 보장할 수 있는 책임개념을 요구할 수도 있다.

        This research investigated how the relationship between customers’ psychological factors and expectations of self-checkout systems influences overall satisfaction. The results show that perceptions of “social injustice” negatively affect consumer satisfaction when the customer has high expectations. Conversely, the variables “uncomfortable,” “unoccupied,” and “anxious” negatively affect satisfaction when expectations are low.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the brand image and county of manufacture(COM) effect on brand luxury index, especially when the acquirer brand is afflicted by a low brand image and the acquired brand enjoys a high brand image. There were 248 responses in Taiwan (low image differences were gathered from 119 respondents and high image differences were gathered from 129 respondents). The results indicate that brand image have a positive influence on every dimension of brand luxury, while the better the luxury brand image acquired by one with an inferior image, the more the brand luxury will increase. Regarding the COM effect, the better COM image the acquirer move to, the more the brand luxury will increase. In addition, brand image and COM have interactive effect.

        Recipients determine the final success, or failure, of a gift. However, despite their importance in the gift exchange, their role has been underinvestigated. Through two experimental designs, we examined relational consequences (i.e. perceived strength of the relationship, and reciprocity) of online personalized gifts, and the moderating role of closeness with the giver and relationship-specific anxiety. Findings revealed that the relationship is perceived as stronger when the personalized gift comes from a non-intimate friend and recipients reported more willingness to reciprocate to an acquaintance. Moreover, the personalized gift reinforces relationship with low anxiety, while increases embarrassment in the high anxiety relations.

        This study builds upon the scant brand personality (BP) literature in services and highlights its applicability to services marketing, which is critical given increasing interest in building favourable service brands. This study examines the impact of Geuens, Weijters and De Wulf’s, (2009) BP measure, an arguably theoretically superior measure of BP to Aaker’s (1997), into an accepted nomological net by Chaudhuri and Holbrook (2001), and tests the extent to which BP dimensions determine behavioural outcomes in services (Geuens et al., 2009).

        This study empirically investigates how four individual-level characteristics impact the effect of the four self-congruity types on brand attitude. A widely used practice among marketers focuses on communicating that using their brands will bring consumers closer to how they would like to see themselves, their ideal self-concept (e.g. being a slim person like the models in the ads), instead of how they actually see themselves, their actual self-concept. However, recent research shows that there is no “universality” of a superior self-congruity effect. Specifically, individual-level characteristics (e.g. self-esteem levels, product involvement levels) determine if actual or ideal self-congruity impact brand perceptions more strongly (Malär, Krohmer, Hoyer & Nyffenegger, 2011). This study extends that research by (a) considering all four self-congruity types (actual, ideal, social, and ideal social) and (b) four additional individual-level characteristics, which are valuable for segmenting consumer markets within and across countries. The four individual-level characteristics are a dominant independent self-construal, interdependent self-construal, cosmopolitan orientation and local orientation. Considering these individual-level characteristics offers marketers insights on which of the four self-concept types they should try to match with their brand communications when targeting these specific consumer groups. Survey data from a non-student sample was collected in the US. After performing data cleaning procedures, 800+ usable responses were analysed with the use of PLS-SEM (Lohmöller, 1989). The measurement models demonstrate satisfactory reliability, convergent and discriminant validity. Furthermore, the results suggest that the data is not compromised by non-response bias and common method variance. The structural models display satisfactory predictive capabilities of the four self-congruity types on brand attitude. The findings show that as expected an individual’s dominant independent self-construal, interdependent self-construal, cosmopolitan and local orientation impact which of the four self-congruity types has the strongest effect on brand attitude. For individuals with a dominant local orientation or interdependent self-construal, actual self-congruity has the strongest effect on brand attitude. For individuals with a dominant cosmopolitan orientation or independent self-construal, ideal self-congruity has the strongest effect on brand attitude. The findings of this study extend self-congruity theory by considering the effect of these four individual-level characteristics. Managerial implications are also presented.
