        This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of the contemporary Chinese fashion market and the competitiveness of Korean fashion brands in China. Fashion professionals experienced in both the Korean and Chinese fashion markets participated to investigate the Shanghai market and consumers. The results of in-depth interviews show that Shanghai is the most favorable city among Tier 1 cities for Korean fashion brands planning on entering into the Chinese market. Shanghai consumers are open to international brands and highly prefer newness in fashion. Contemporary menswear was selected as a potentially big market due to the increase of unique, young, upper-middle-class male consumers. The Korean fashion brands’ strength is that they are capable of satisfying Shanghai consumers with excellent product planning and sensory design capabilities. Their disadvantage is that their brand recognition is weaker than that of global and international brands, and their ability to localize to the Chinese market is weak. The opportunity comes is from the Korean Wave, which is a positive for Korea's products and has good geographical access. The threat is that the Shanghai market is fiercely competitive; having access to many worldwide brands, and the competitiveness of Chinese brands is on the rise. To enter the Shanghai market, creative design ability, trendy product development, skill, and appropriate PR methods such as using Korean culture contents would be required to satisfy the young, powerful consumers in Shanghai.

        The technique of VR and AR utilizing HMD and peripherals was due to launch the products in which the research developers predicting the market magnification satisfy the request of the users in 2016. In the suddenly change game market, because of reflecting global technique and standardization trend, the white paper on Korean games and ICT standardization roadmap published for the development of Korea game industry are important in the decision procedure of the prediction of the game industry and game marketing and technology development and standardization support policy related to the game. In this paper, I analyze the present condition of Korean game industry through published white paper on Korean games and ICT standardization roadmap since 2012 by the year 2016 and suggested the competitiveness strengthening measure of Korean game industry required for the pathfinding of the global game market.

        Quality has been a key issue to manufacturers. Many distinguished scholars have defined quality with profound insight. Korean firms struggle to make better products to fulfil requirements and satisfy customers. Korean industries have implemented quality management from Japan in early 70s. Statistical quality control, QCC (Quality Control Circle), and total quality management have also been introduced in succession. Chief executive officers, managers, and field employees have been aware of the importance of quality since then. This quality movement force workers to improve quality. They have to maintain the quality of products and compete with foreign products. Korean industries were able to compete with foreign industries in price. However, Korean firms now have to compete in quality as well as price. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) was established and industries around world have started to implement standardized systems depending on their need. ISO 9000 has continuously been revised and firms around world started to register a ISO 9000 certificate. Today’s quality competitiveness gets more deeply involved. KSA (Korean Standard Association) have launched QCAS (Quality Competitiveness Assessment System) since 1997. Up until now recent status of QCAS have been reported but the characteristics of QCAS results have not been analyzed. In this article we examine the QCAS results of 41 firms in 2014. QCAS consisted of 13 subsections : strategy and management system, organization culture and development of human resource, information management, quality system, customer satisfaction, management achievement, TPM, logistics, product development and technology, PL, QCC, SQC/SPC, and reliability. We performed one way ANOVA to discover the difference among the levels of firm size, business type, and quality hall of fame using the total scores of 13 subsections resulted from QCAS. We also analyzed the scores of 13 individual subsections of QCAS to see if there is any differences based on firm size and business type. We interpret the results and implication of analysis and finally draw a conclusion.

        In Brazil, agricultural sector accounts for 15 percent of total employment and agricultural export takes 36 percent of the national merchandise exports. Particularly agricultural export has played an important role in Brazilian economic growth and stabilization. Brazil is a substantial agricultural exporter which obtains huge trade surplus in agricultural trade amounting USD 73,300 million. Major agricultural exports are grain and grain-processed products such as soybean, soybean cake, corn and soybean oil. Particularly soybean is the top exporting commodity in Brazil. Our Study overviews the situation of Brazilian agriculture and analyzes the export competitiveness of Brazilian soybean in the World and Korean markets. We employ several indexes such as price competitiveness, Market Share (MS), Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA), and Comparative Advantage by countries (CAC) to analyze international competitiveness of Brazilian soybean. The main results of our study are as follows : First, U.S. Argentina, Paraguay and Canada are rivals with Brazil in the global soybean market. Second, Brazilian soybean has the 3rd highest price competitiveness following Paraguay and Argentina. Third, Brazilian soybean is second highest following Paraguay in a sense of export competitiveness through RCA and CAC index. Brazilian soybean has competitiveness in respect of comparative advantage not only in Korean market but also in global market. Especially CAC index of Brazilian soybean in the Korean market is higher than those of USA and China which have larger Korean market share than Brazil. However, the competition seems to be even more intensifying because Korea has already agreed on FTA with USA and China, and also Paraguay expands soybean export to Korea recently.

        우리나라는 기술혁신을 통한 글로벌 기술경쟁력 제고를 위해 연구개발(R&D) 에 대한 투자를 꾸준히 증대시켜왔다. 우리나라의 GDP 대비 연구개발투자 비중은 4.15%로 세계 1위 수준이며, 4년 연속 무역규모 1조 달러를 달성하였다. 그러나 이와 같은 노력에도 불구하고 국가 간 기술경쟁력을 가늠하는 중요한 척도인 기술무역수지는 OECD 국가들 가 운데 최하위 수준이며 만성적인 적자를 기록하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우리나라의 기술무역수지 개선방안을 강구하기 위한 연구를 수행하고자 하 였다. 먼저, 기술무역에 대한 개념과 현황을 파악하였으며, 기술무역과 상품무역 간 비교를 통해 기술무역의 중요성을 검토하였다. 그동안 기술무역 관련 연구가 일부 수행되었지만, 기술무역에 있어 가장 중요한 역할을 담당하는 기업의 입장에서 기술무역에 대한 인식을 파악 하기 위한 연구는 제대로 수행되지 못하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기술무역 실적 보유 기업 과 미보유 기업을 구분하고 기업의 실제적인 인식 및 실태를 파악하기 위한 설문조사를 수행 하였다. 설문조사 결과, 기술무역 실적 보유기업과 미보유 기업 간에는 최고의사결정권자의 인지 도 측면에서 큰 차이를 보였으며, 기술무역 전담부서와 전담직원의 부족이 매우 심각함을 파 악할 수 있었다. 또한 기술무역 관련 교육의 필요성을 절실히 느끼고 있음에도 불구하고 이 에 대한 교육 이수 경험은 불과 10%에도 미치지 못하는 것으로 조사되었다. 아울러 본 연구에서는 선행연구에 대한 심도 있는 고찰 및 산업계 실태조사 등을 토대로 기술무역 통계조사 방법론 개선, 사회적 인식 제고, 기술수출 활동 유인을 위한 정부의 정책 적 지원, 기술무역 관련 인프라 구축 및 전문인력 양성을 위한 교육과정 개설 등의 개선방안 을 제시하였다.

        Quality has been one of the critical issues in modern industry. Korean government has performed quality competitiveness assessment targeted on manufacturing industry, construction industry, and public service sector since 1997. Korean government first asks for them to evaluate quality competitiveness by themselves. An expert group consisted of faculty members in universities assesses the results of the self-evaluated quality competitiveness. The audit data assessed by the expert group are finally reevaluated in public and the ministry of trade, industry, and energy confers a title for best enterprise every year. We statistically analyze the final audit data for quality competitiveness assessment in 2014. We aim to figure out the characteristics based on business size – large-size company or small and medium-size company, the ownership-public or private company, the types of business, and the level of quality competitiveness. The results of data analysis are summarized and the implications are stated.

        Compelling evidence suggests that the Earth’s resources deplete fast and the fashion industry from mainstream to luxury is also partly responsible to this environmental deterioration. The model of fashion production based on global supply chains for cheaper production locations and consumption where speed and endless diversification cater for global demand can hardly be described as sustainable and luxury is no exception to this. The thorny issue in the current state is how to reconcile sustainability which by definition opposes wasteful production and consumption with competitiveness which is built on aggressive models of global brand domination. The authors argue that the craft practices of the tailoring institutions of Savile Row in London constitute an important sustainable luxury example. The tailors have managed remarkably to combine sustainability and competitiveness in a relational model of competition and cooperation.

        Recently, the manufacturing system is being changed in a mass customization and small quantity batch production. MES is a powerful production management tool supporting production optimization from the process initiation to the final shipment. It is a production management system which plans and executes based on the production data in the shop floor. This study deployed the utilization of production data and web HMI system to process real-time production data through the collection with the shop floor. The developed system was applied to the equipment operating time and other production data could be processed with the real-time. The proposed system and web HMI can be applied for various production systems by using different logic.

        본 사례는 현대자동차 인도법인(HMI)의 브랜드 포지셔닝 (brand positioning) 전략을 심층적으로 분석하고 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 전 세계 자동차시장의 추세와 함께 인도 자동차 시장의 현황과 전략적 중요성에 대해 검토하였다. 브랜드의 개념과 역할을 바탕으로, 브랜드 포지셔닝을 (1) 구체적 특성(Features: concrete attributes), (2) 추상적 특성(Abstract attributes), (3) 직접적 (기능적) 혜택(Direct: functional benefit), (4) 간접적(경험적/상징적) 혜택(Indirect: experiential/symbolic benefits), (5) 대리적 포지셔닝(Surrogate positioning)으로 구분하여, HMI가 어떠한 브랜드 포지셔닝 전략을 추구하고 있는지 살펴보았다. 분석결과, HMI는 주로 구체적 특성과 추상적 특성을 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 전략은 HMI가 주안점을 두고 있는 컴팩트와 미드급 세그먼트의 특징을 감안했을 때 적절한 것으로 판단된다. 소비자 만족도, 시장 점유율, 판매량 추세 등의 기업성과 지표를 감안했을 때도, 이러한 브랜드 포지셔닝 전략은 HMI의 글로벌 경쟁력에 공헌한 것으로 판단된다. 하지만 인도 자동차 시장의 향후 변화를 감안한 HMI의 브랜드 포지셔닝 전략에 대한 재검토 역시 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

        The purpose of this study is to figure out the impacts of technological innovation and cost management on productivity in small shipping industries to come up with developmental implications. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 150 workers in small shipbuilding industries through April 2 to April 20, 2012. As for findings stated above, technological innovation and cost management in the Korean small shipbuilding industries were key factors that elevate financial and non-financial productivity. In the light of low technological prowess and cost structure of small shipbuilding industries, their productivity can be improved when intensive cost management with production factor technology as know-how is realized through quality management, which product development technology is the top priority as an independent niche strategy. Consequently, the combination of infrastructures in small shipbuilding industries with continuous efforts for cost reduction by the link to the systematized structure can't only secure their independent competitiveness, but raise their productivity.

        LIVE/DEAD® BacLight™ and alamarBlue® are fluorescent materials used for the enumeration of live and dead bacteria. LIVE/DEAD® BacLight™ is generally used for confocal microscopy applications to differentiate live from dead bacteria in a biofilm or planktonic state. AlamarBlue® has also been used widely to assay live and dead bacteria in a planktonic state. Whilst these materials are successfully utilized in experiments to discriminate live from dead bacteria for several species of bacteria, the application of these techniques to oral bacteria is limited to the use of LIVE/ DEAD® BacLight™ in biofilm studies. In our present study, we assessed whether these two methods could enumerate live and dead oral bacterial species in a planktonic state. We tested the reagents on Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sobrinus, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Enterococcus faecalis and found that only LIVE/DEAD® BacLight™ could differentiate live from dead cells for all five of these oral strains. AlamarBlue® was not effective in this regard for P. gingivalis or A. actinomycetemcomitans. In addition, the differentiation of live and dead bacterial cells by alamarBlue® could not be performed for concentrations lower than 2 × 106 cells/ml. Our data thus indicate that LIVE/DEAD® BacLight™ is a more effective reagent for this analysis.

        본 연구에서는 국내 농산물 중 주요 채소(9개 품목)에 대한세계 속에서 한국 농업의 위치를 파악함으로써 개방화시대에 국내 농업현장에서 경쟁력 제고를 위한 방안마련의 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였으며, 이를 위하여 품목별 국제경쟁력(RCA, RC, 수출비율지수), 국내시장에서 수입품과의 경쟁력(역RCA, 수입품 국내시장점유율) 및 경쟁국 수입품과의 가격경쟁력을 비교분석하였다.16) 더불어 농산물 유통전문가 설문분석을 통하여 질적인 경쟁력수준을 분석하였다. 분석결과 조사대상 품목 대부분의 수출경쟁력은 매우 취약하였으며, 특히, 2010년 RCA지수는 마늘이 0.004, 양파 0.0238, 멜론 0.1060, 고추(건고추) 0.3637 등으로 비교우위를나타낼 수 있는 수치인 1보다 현격히 낮아 수출경쟁력의 어려움을 보여주고 있다. 그러나 조사대상 품목 중 착색단고추(파프리카)는 일본시장에서 수출경쟁력을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 가격경쟁력은 일본 등 일부국가를 제외하고는 경쟁력이 약한 것으로 분석되었으며, 가격비교에 있어서 관세가 포함될 경우에는 고율의 관세가 부과되는 마늘, 고추(건고추) 등에서는 국내시장에서 수입품과의 경쟁력을 나타낼 수 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 농산물 전문 유통인들을 대상으로 한 품질경쟁력 설문조사 결과 국내 채소의 전반적인 품질경쟁력은 우수한 것으로 조사되었으며, 과중, 과형, 색깔, 당도, 육질 등 부문별 품질수준에서도 높게 평가받는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 국산 딸기의 경우 과중, 색깔, 향기 등에 있어 조사대상 품목 중 가장 높은 평가를 받았으며, 파프리카는 당도와 육질에서 가장 높게 평가되었다. 국내 농산물이 국제경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 최우선 고려사항으로는 고품질 브랜드화를 최우선 과제로 지적하고 있으며, 다음으로 신품종 개발, 생산비 절감을 통한 가격경쟁력 제고, 유통구조 합리화 등을 지적하였다. 더불어 보다 현실적 대안으로써 품목특성에 따른 유통단계의 차별화, 즉, 국내산 유통 단계와 수입산 유통단계를 달리 시도하는 방안을 강구함으로써 국민의 식생활 안전성을 지키는 방안도 모색할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다. 결과적으로 국내 채소류의 경우 FTA 등 수입개방의 확대 속에서 가격경쟁을 통한 경쟁력 확보에는 한계가 따르는 것으로 분석되고 있어 차별화된 품질향상 등 품질경쟁력 제고를 통한 경쟁력 확보 방안에 주력하는 것이 우리 농업의 유지·발전을 위한 최선의 방안이 될 것으로 판단된다.

        글로벌 게임 시장에서 소셜 네트워크 게임(SNG, Social Network Game)은 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS, Social Network Service)나 소셜 커머스와 함께 돌풍을 일으켰다고 말할 수 있을 정도로 매우 빠른 성장을 나타내고 있다. SNG의 성장은 SNS의 확대와 스마트폰의 빠른 보급, 다양한 멀티미디어 기기에서 즐길 수 있는 유무선이 연동 게임들이 사용자들에게 보다 높은 호응을 얻은 것이다. 본 논문에서는 SNG의 특성을 고찰하고, 국내외 SNG의 기술과 경향을 파악한 후, SNG가 성공하기 위한 조건을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 SNG 분야에서 국내 게임업계의 경쟁력 강화 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
