        In these days, hazards in laboratories are consistently increasing due to high technological advance in modern science. Efforts to prevent accidents in laboratories became law named [ACT ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SAFE LABORATORY ENVIRONMENT]. The law made laboratories more safely but it’s not enough to keep up laboratory safety in advanced countries. To improve laboratory safety, this study reformed laboratory emergency response flow chart based on each emergency scenarios and its evaluated hazards in laboratories applied wireless hazard detecting equipments.

        This study proposed new method using FRP material for emergency earthquake recovery in a building, since the classical materials such as concrete and steel was difficult to construct and fabricate during and after an earthquake. Also, the characteristics of FRP materials was much light and stronger in comparison to other materials. Therefore, the seismic performance of frame structures subjected to an earthquake, using precast GFRP-Corrugated infilled panel was conducted in this study.

        PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to develop new pothole repair materials using polyurethane-modified asphalt binder, and to evaluate them relative to current pothole repair materials in order to improve the performance of repaired asphalt pavement. METHODS : In the laboratory, polyurethane-modified asphalt binder is developed, and then asphalt binder is added to produce pothole repair materials. In order to evaluate the properties of this new pothole repair material, both an indirect tension strength test and a direct tension strength test are performed to measure the material strength and bond strength, respectively. Additionally, the basic material properties are evaluated using the asphalt cold mix manual. The strength characteristics based on curing times are evaluated using a total of 7 types of materials (3 types of current materials, 2 types of new materials, and 2 types of moisture conditioned new materials). The indirect tension strength tests are conducted at 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 days of curing time. The bond strength between current HMA(Hot Mix Asphalt) and the new materials is evaluated by the direct tension strength test. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Overall, the new materials show better properties than current materials. Based on the test results, the new materials demonstrate less susceptibility to moisture, faster curing times, and an improved bond strength between HMA and the new materials. Therefore, the use of the new materials reported in this study may lead to enhanced performance of repairs made to asphalt pavement potholes.

        This study is performed to determine the priorites of the evaluation factors for the improvement of fire emergency medical service by increasing it’s efficiency to protect the people’s lives effectively, and by recognizing it’s mid-long term development. Based on the output of the analysis, the critical evaluation factors of the fire emergency medical services to be improved shall be identified, and shall be intended to use strategically for increasing the efficiency of all the activity in the EMT service, and also for providing the basic date to product and manage the good quality services. To calculate the priority of the evaluation factor for each level as shown on this study, AHP(anaysis hierarchy process) with pairwise comparison method is applied. According to the priority analysis for the evaluation factors in main category (evaluation zone), ‘medical service professional aspect’ is recognized as highest one, and ‘service infrastructure aspect, ‘service management aspect’ are indicated in order. According to the priority analysis for the evaluation factors in evaluation index, ‘professional personal arrangement’ in the service infrastructure aspect, ‘appropriateness and timeliness of emergency medical care’ in the medical service professional aspect, and ‘clinical training’ in the service management aspect are respectively recognized as most important factors.

        Purpose: This study aimed to develop an algorithm-based simulation scenario for emergency measures for a high-risk newborn presenting apnea. Methods: A methodological study design was used to develop the algorithm-based simulation scenario. Expert evaluation was used to establish the developed algorithm’s content validity. Results: The simulation scenario was developed using several steps of algorithm development based on the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). The content validity was established. Based on the expert evaluation results, an eight-frame algorithm was selected for the final simulation scenario. The scenario courseware was composed of six major components: pre-learning activity simulation orientation, simulation operation, SBAR-format recording, watching the video-clip of their performance for self-evaluation and debriefing. After simulation, student’s clinical performance and communication skill were evaluated with the developed instrument. Conclusion: Considering that nursing students have limited access to high-risk newborns during their clinical experience and that newborns presenting apnea are common in the neonatal intensive care unit, the algorithm-based simulation scenario developed in this study can provide students with the opportunity to practice alternative emergency measures for high-risk newborns.

        This paper describes the design and implementation of a electromagnetic energy harvesting mechanism and electronic circuit for autonomous emergency call system. This analysis results show the power output of the proposed harvesting mechanism and circuit up to max power output 5V and it can hold up to 65 msec of the power generation and 10msec of the RF transmission. Based on the these testing results, the implementation of autonomous emergency call device without battery power or any external power source is feasible.

        본 연구는 최근 세계적으로 이상기후에 의하여 빈번히 발생하는 지진재해에 의한 주요시설물 피해저감 및 신속복구에 대한 복합재료 적용에 관한 연구이다. 최근에 발생된 지진의 경우, 1차 지진에 의한 시설물 피해가 발생하고 이후 강력한 규모의 2차, 3차 여진이 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 이에 대응하기 위하여 국외에서는 병원, 방송국 등과 같은 주요시설물의 초기 지진피해에 의한 피해와 손상을 신속히 응급복구하고 향후 2차 여진 및 관련 시설물에 대한 항구적인 보강대책을 제공할 수 있는 내진안전성 개선연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서 제시한 긴급복구용 GFRP 내력패널의 경우, 기존 콘크리트 또는 강 프레임 구조물 내 지진에 의한 벽체손상 피해 발생 시 이들 손상된 벽체(조적조 또는 콘크리트 벽체)를 제거한 후 사전제작된 GFRP 내력벽체를 적용, 대체 횡적 보강구조체로 시공하여 향후 피해저감 및 응급복구용으로 그 효율성을 극대화하고 예방하는 내진 공법을 개발하고자 한다.

        This study highlights the theme of human error of train drivers, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between emergency stress, psychological fatigue, safety behavior, and accident. The hypothetical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicate that emergency stress shows a significant positive effect on psychological fatigue, which in turn shows a significant negative influence on safety behavior. And safety behavior is shown having a significant negative relationship with accident. These results suggest the necessity of corporate-level approaches to depict the drastic causes of drivers’ emergency stress, and to effectively manage this stress, as well as the necessity of making effort to enhance safety behavior, and to prevent or reduce accidents.
