        This study aimed to investigate how two novice teachers in elementary schools conceptualized and developed their practical knowledge about English teaching. They provided their narratives about their teaching six times over the spring semester of 2019. Their narratives were recorded and transcribed. Two researchers examined the transcription to investigate what prior knowledge they had and how they developed their practical knowledge. It was found that their practical knowledge had constantly changed and developed. When they started teaching English, they had their own knowledge on English teaching, which seemed to come from their previous English learning experience and from their study on teaching English. As they applied these knowledge to their own teaching situations, they encountered many problems. The main situations that shaped their practical knowledge were 1) students' level of achievement, 2) level differences among students, 3) teacher status (classroom teacher or English specialist teacher), and 4) colleagues. While coping with those problems, they added new practical knowledge or modified the knowledge they had. The findings provided several implications on pre-service and novice teacher training.

        As companies develop more and more collaborative inter-firm relationships with others on new product development, successful configuration and management of R&D alliance portfolios becomes even more challenging. This paper seeks to understand how different characteristics of a firm’s R&D alliance portfolio influence its ability to acquire external knowledge and how knowledge acquisition in turn influences the firm’s innovation outcomes. The central argument is that a firm’s R&D alliance portfolio strategy entails both knowledge structure benefit and relational benefit. Firms seek to achieve these two different types of benefits by bringing in different desired partners. As a result, a firm’s choice or preferences for different types of R&D alliance partners influence both the scope of external knowledge it is exposed to (knowledge structure benefit) as well as the partner’s willingness to share and the focal firm’s ability to absorb and learn from its partners (relational benefit). While certain strategies may offer firms’ the opportunity to achieve both types of benefits simultaneously, other strategies may force firms to choose one benefit over the other. In order to exploit the value of the acquired knowledge acquired from external partners, firms need to further apply this knowledge to come up with innovative products or services. Literature has further classified new product offerings into radical vs. incremental innovations based on their innovativeness and customer benefit increase. Due to the different characteristics and knowledge requirements for radical vs. incremental innovation, we investigate how different dimensions play differential roles in the development process of these two types of innovation. We empirically tested our hypothesis in the context of pharmaceutical industry with a panel data of 64 firms over 15 years. The statistical results largely support our hypothesis.

        This paper describes a development of design tool for knowledge based engineering(KBE) that covers structural, aerodynamic, and optical analysis of large-scale telescope structures. A module of the commercial program Adaptive Modeling Language(AML) was used to develop a knowledge-based design tool that reflects the design of parameters for rapid design change and analysis. Through this study, it is proposed a design tool with a knowledge based engineering and a function based design technique. The knowledge based engineering design is good at frequent design changes, and it is effective to extract a core design behavior from previous designs. It is concluded that the developed tool can bring fair effects in implementing a time and cost-effective design environment.

        세계 작물보호제의 개발 흐름은 화학농약보다 친환경제제에 더욱 집중하고 있다. 이는, 수십 년 동안 행해진 화학농약 의존 농업에 대한 경각심의 우회적 표출이며, 개선하려는 국제적 움직임으로 해석할 수 있다. 친환경제제 중 하나인 곤충페로몬 이용 제품은 화학농약을 대체하거나 감소시킬 수 있는 제제로 국내외적으로 평가받고 있다. 이러한 곤충페로몬을 이용한 친환경 제품이 국내농업에 사용된 지 약 16년이 되었다. 그동안 국내 농업시장에서 통용된 곤충페로몬 이용 제품에는 어떠한 것이 있었고, 시기 및 지역별로 제품 사용의 변화 확인을 통해 다양성을 향한 앞으로의 제품 개발과 활용을 토의하고자 한다. 또한, 곤충페로몬 방출기 관련 연구개발 지식 공유를 통해, 제품 및 기술 개발을 위한 논의를 하고자 한다.

        The purpose of this study is to identify the guideline’s contents for dietitians’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) for the sustainability management at school foodservice. The contents for the guideline were determined by the Delphi technique of two rounds. The Delphi panels of experts were consisted of sixteen school dietitians and fourteen professors of food and nutrition with more than 10 years of experiences by convenience sampling method. Based on the literature, knowledge, attitudes, and practices required for dieticians were classified into menu management, procurement, food production, facility and energy management, waste management, personnel management, and nutrition education. Data were analyzed using SPSS for Windows version 24 and EXCEL to calculate descriptive statistics, content validity ratio, degree of agreement, and degree of convergence. As a result of the second round, the validity scores of ‘knows eco-friendly certification standards and labeling systems (4.53 point)’ in the knowledge category, and ‘tries to purchase local agricultural products (4.87 point)’ in the attitude category were the highest. From that round in the practice category, the validity scores of ‘plan menus for students' health’, ‘purchases eco-friendly food’, and ‘conserves energy in pre-processing and cooking process’ were the highest with 4.73 point. Applying the criteria for securing the validity of the contents, the contents of 25 knowledge items, 20 attitude items and 30 practice items were confirmed. The findings of the study can be used to develop the guideline for dietitians required for the sustainability management.

        The role of oral corrective feedback (CF) in second language (L2) learning has been extensively investigated. However, little attention has been given to the relationship between different types of CF and explicit/implicit L2 knowledge. For this reason, the present study explored the effects of recasts and metalinguistic feedback on the development of explicit and implicit knowledge of the English articles. Sixty-three university students enrolled in intermediate Communication English classes participated, and they were assigned into a metalinguistic group, a recast group, and a control group. While the students engaged in meaning-based activities (i.e., retelling stories), the feedback groups received respective CF on the errors of English articles and the control group did not receive any feedback. Untimed grammatical judgement tests were employed to measure the students’ improvement of explicit knowledge and elicitation oral imitation tests were used to examine their gains of implicit knowledge. The study found that both recasts and metalinguistic feedback equally facilitated the development of explicit knowledge over time. However, they were not as effective as in the improvement of implicit knowledge, showing a short-term effect on the development.

        본 연구는 공동기술개발의 성과결정요인으로 파트너 특성과 관리과정 특성이 공동기술개발의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며, 나아가 파트너 특성 및 관리과정 특성과 공동기술개발 성과와의 관계에서 지식흡수역량의 조절효과에 대하여 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 기술개발 업무와 관련이 있는 대기업과 중소기업의 기업부설연구소 및 공공기관인 정부 출연 연구기관과 관리기관의 연구원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 387명을 대상으로 실증분석하였다. 실증분석 결과 첫째, 파트너 특성의 기술개발역량과 공동기술개발경험이 모두 공동기술개발 성과에 유 의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 공동기술개발 파트너의 선정과정에서 주관기관은 기술개발경험과 필 요기술의 전문성을 보유한 파트너를 선호한다는 것이다. 둘째, 관리과정 특성에서는 목표의 명확성과 원 활한 의사소통이 공동기술개발성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 공동기술개발의 목표가 구체 적이고 측정 가능해야 하고, 연구원들 간의 원활한 의사소통이 전제되어야만 공동기술개발 성과를 높일 수 있다는 것이다. 셋째, 독립변수와 조절변수간의 상호작용 효과를 분석한 결과, 공동기술개발경험과 지 식흡수역량 간의 관계에서 상호작용 효과가 있다. 즉, 지식흡수역량이 높을수록 파트너 특성의 공동기술 개발경험이 성과에 더욱 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.

        This paper considers a paternity and kinship analysis system(PKAS) being currently used in real sites. A knowledge-based expert system is proposed to improve the performance of PKAS in terms of accuracy, speed, training time, and satisfaction, which are common measures for evaluation. The knowledge base, one of the most important components in the knowledge-based expert system(KBES), consists of a rule made from random matching algorithm, decision rules of allele types and guide rules of options. The last two rules are learning incrementally from sample data. The results show that PKAS armed with the expert system ensures the better performance with regard to these criteria than the existing system. Especially as far as speed is concerned, as the sample size increases, it outperforms the existing one. As the number of samples increases, while processing time increases nearly exponentially in the existing PKAS, it does linearly in our proposed system.

        While the necessity of closing the marketing capabilities gap is an important issue, little is known about the mechanisms that enable firms create and refine marketing capabilities to market new products. Although it is suggested that market knowledge enables firms to create and refine marketing capabilities, little is known about why some firms are better at generating market knowledge or the extent market knowledge development impacts marketing capabilities. We advance the literature by showing that the development of market knowledge through internal processes is not sole or main foundation, external ties are also required to facilitate closing the marketing capabilities gap. Building on the literature on organizational ambidexterity, relational governance, and positional advantages, we examine the extent that external ties facilitate the effect of the firm’s market knowledge development processes (MKD) on exploratory and exploitative marketing capabilities. We use the positional advantage principle (Day & Wensley, 1988) to uncover the path that exploratory and exploitative marketing capabilities drive new product success through. Data from a sample of 169 industrial firms using a multi-informant design shows that the interplay between MKD and external ties provide the foundation to build exploratory and exploitative marketing capabilities to successfully market new products. Given the differences in the nature (e.g., goal convergence, longevity) and knowledge embedded in business and political ties, we draw attention to the different impacts that business and political ties have in helping to build exploratory and exploitative marketing capabilities. Our findings reveal that business ties promote the positive effect of MKD on exploitative marketing, indicating that business ties promote a firm’s capacity to improve its existing marketing routines. Political ties, however, enhance the positive effect of MKD on exploratory marketing, indicating that political ties provide support required to create new marketing initiatives (e.g., new distribution channel). Further, we show that distinct positional advantages, differentiation and cost efficiency, help explain how exploratory and exploitative marketing capabilities may be more or less effective in driving new product success. Our results suggest that while both new product differentiation and cost efficiency are significant drivers of NPP, their antecedents are different. Hence, achieving fit between the preferred positional advantage(s) and the type of marketing capabilities represents a critical determinant of new product success.

        The organizational learning concept is used to develop the skill base of employees and create knowledge that can be used to improve the capability of an organization. The objective of this paper is to explain how the process of organizational learning, which is underpinned and reinforced by a specific organizational value system, produces interactive communication that incorporates information sharing, teamwork, individual learning and fosters the development of knowledge which ultimately results in the implementation of a marketing strategy. The research question we pose is: How can marketing managers use the organizational learning concept to improve the organization’s marketing performance? A qualitative research strategy, incorporating an open ended, structured questionnaire was used to obtain insights into how organizational learning supports the development of knowledge and the implementation of marketing strategy in three Korean companies in three separate industries. The research findings indicate that managers in the participating Korean companies embrace the strategic marketing concept, implement knowledge based marketing decisions, are committed to sharing information and are keen to adopt innovatory processes that result in change. In addition, they utilize the organizational learning concept to enhance the capability of the organization, ensure that individual learning is placed in the context of institutional learning, develop and implement innovative marketing strategies, and reinforce the strategic marketing planning process through interactive communication in order to achieve value creation.

        Subjective knowledge (SK thereafter) is defined as what consumers think they know, or their perceived level of knowledge (Brucks, 1985). SK influences what consumers search for, the effort that they put into searching, and the purchasing decision and choice of brands they finally make (Hadar, Sood, & Fox, 2013; Moorman, Diehl, Brinberg, & Kidwell, 2004). The existing literature on consumer knowledge development mainly argues that SK development is associated with consumers’ product related experience, such as product ownership and experience from usage (Alba & Hutchinson, 2000; Park, Mothersbaugh, & Feick, 1994). This study contributes to the literature as follows. We consider a broad market segmentation where the market consists of product owners and non-owners, The literature suggests that these two groups of consumers should have different levels of perceived knowledge due to their different product-specific experience (Park et al., 1994). Our research specifically contends that it is important to distinguish, within the group of non-owners, between those who intend to buy and those who do not intend to buy the product. Thus, this study examines how previous ownership and intention to buy, which is the goal motivation, influence the SK levels of consumers, which in turn impacts on consumers’ heterogeneous preferences for different attributes within a product category. It is contended that the motivation to learn about a product category of non-car owners who have strong intentions to buy influences what this group learns compared to those non-owners who do not intend to buy. More specifically, the research proposes to uncover how learning influences how different groups of consumers perceive their subjective knowledge and how this relationship in turn shapes their preferences, especially when we compare owners and non-owners who have strong intentions of buying a product. Therefore, we develop following research hypotheses: H1: The SK level is positively associated with the product ownership experience. H2: The SK level is positively associated with purchase intention. H3: The relationship between purchase intention and SK level is moderated by the ownership of the product. H4: Preference heterogeneity for different types of brand attributes of the product between owners and non-owners is moderated by the SK level. The empirical context that illustrates the importance of this research is the Chinese car market where the majority of consumers are first time buyers. Our research shows that the SK level is positively associated with both car ownership and purchase intention. Furthermore, the segmentation analysis finds that purchase intention has a significant effect only on non-car owners’ SK level, while the effect on car owners’ SK level is insignificant. An interesting finding is that SK development, in turn, influences consumer’s preferences for different types of brand attributes of a product. We demonstrate the role of SK in forming consumer preference heterogeneity by comparing preferences for a tangible and a non-tangible brand attribute respectively across different consumer segments. We further show how this preference heterogeneity across two consumer segments (car owners versus non-car owners) depends on their SK level. The results of this study can be generalized beyond the specific context of the empirical study of the Chinese car market when marketers are considering new products launch or launching products where the majority of consumers may be unfamiliar with the product.

        This study investigates differential effects of form-focused instruction (FFI) on the development of explicit knowledge versus implicit knowledge of a second language (L2) when the FFI is offered within the context of meaning-focused instruction (MFI). Forty-two adult learners of English participated in the study and were randomly assigned to a group who received FFI before MFI (FM), a group who received FFI after MFI (MF), a group who received MFI only (M), or a control group. Learning was measured by an untimed grammaticality judgment task (UGJT), a primary measure for explicit knowledge, and an elicited oral imitation task (EOIT), a primary measure for implicit knowledge. The results illustrate that, despite both FM and MF groups’ improved performance on the UGJT, only the FM group showed a positive developmental trend on the EOIT. No clear learning effect was observed among the M group learners or the controls. Therefore, the findings suggest that FFI prior to MFI supports the development of implicit knowledge more efficiently than FFI delayed until after MFI has begun.

        This study examined the effects of teaching contextual inference and word association strategies on 5th grade elementary school students' vocabulary knowledge development. A total of 56 students participated in the current study, as divided into either the contextual inference group or the word association group. The vocabulary proficiency levels of the participants were also considered and the students in each group were further divided into either the upper level group or the lower level group. The participants experienced six treatment sessions, and in each session they had to study five vocabulary items using each of the two vocabulary learning strategies. The posttest and delayed posttest results indicated that both strategies were effective for the vocabulary knowledge development of the upper level group as well as the lower level group. Some possible implications for elementary school English classrooms in Korea are discussed.

        본 연구에서는 정밀농업 구현을 위해 필수적인 요소인 토양과 기후 그리고 위치요인을 데이터로 구축한 후 이를 수치화하여 최고점수제를 이용하는 지식기반형 작물추천모델을 개발하였다. 작물추천시스템에서 사용한 요인은 토양과 기후 그리고 위치정보이다. 토양의 경우에는 흙토람 자료 중 작물적지 선정에 80%이상 활용되는 토성, 침식등급, 배수등급, 경사, 자갈함량, pH를 선정하였다. 기후요인은 기상청의 5년간 누적데이터를 기초로 하여 작물생육에 필수적인 기온과 강수량 그리고일조시간 등을 사용하였다. 위치정보는 한국토지정보시스템과 수치지형도를 가공하여 사용하였다. 예시작물은 농촌진흥청에서 추천한 옥수수, 유채, 갈대, 수박, 고추, 토마토, 양파, 감자, 고구마, 구기자 10개 작물로 하였으며, 향후 작물추천 수요가증가할 것으로 예상되는 제천, 무안, 원주, 함안 4개 지역을 포괄적으로 시뮬레이션하였다. 분석결과 평균점수는 고추가 75.5점으로 가장 높았으며 고구마가 61.2점으로 가장 낮았다. 작물별 식재면적에 제약이 있다고 가정하고 2차 시뮬레이션을실시하여 경남 함안시의 7만 필지를 별도설정하고 분석한 결과 고구마가 39,190필지에서 가장 높은 점수를 받았으며 면적으로는 27.014 km2이었다. 지식기반형 작물추천시스템은 작물의 적지를 선정하는 항목과 가중치가 검증되지 않았다는 한계를 가지고 있으나, 이에 대한 보완이 이루어지고, 농산물유통부분을 고려하여 실제 정보수요자에게 제공하면 영농현장에서 활용 가능할 것으로 판단한다.

        This present study concerned whether prompts and recasts that occur during interaction could play a role in L2 development. Adopting an untimed grammatical judgment test and an elicited oral imitation test to measure explicit and implicit knowledge, this study examined the relative effects of prompts and recasts on L2 development of past tense forms. The participants were pre-intermediate learners enrolled in English as a foreign language (EFL) classes at a university in Korea. The learners were assigned to two prompt groups, a recast group, and a control group. The analysis of the untimed grammaticality judgment test revealed that the participants promoted their explicit knowledge of the past tense forms of regular and irregular verbs when prompts were provided. The analysis also showed that the learners who received recasts improved their test scores but only in irregular past tense forms. No significant group difference was found among the treatment groups and the control group in the results of the elicited oral imitation test used to measure implicit knowledge of the target forms. These results indicated that prompts were beneficial for short-term L2 grammatical learning of EFL learners of pre-intermediate level. The implications and limitations are discussed in terms of the role of prompts in driving L2 development.

        The paper’s proposition is that Mexican public universities potentiate social oriented activity for gsed purposes while agents in Knowledge and Innovation Networking. But they must comply with the structural restrictions of communicative action. The aim is to present communication principles for Knowledge and Innovation Networking (KIN) that promotes Green Sustainable Economic Development (gsed) in Latin American societies, characterized by heterogeneous cultural traits and varied levels of economic and political development, within countries themselves and between them. Prime gsed issues are the preservation of natural resources considering their use and enjoyment by the coming generations, the right to material progress of developing countries as well as the obligation of developed economies to reduce their energy consumption (raw energy and processed commodities). However, the validity of any gsed model is questionable unless it is coherent in terms of what gsed is considered both locally and globally, thus the relevance of networking for knowledge and innovation (see Hidalgo 2011), integrated with regional, national and international innovation systems. How can Knowledge and Innovation Networking (kin) increase university participation in the promotion of gsed? This is a question that this paper aims to answer and provide some strategies to increase participation and contribution to gsed. Knowledge and innovation networks are environments for participation of key social groups where concurrence protocols ease both lawfulness and transparency regarding market issues (global, regional and local) and sustainable development. On-line kin interactions implementation are insufficient for gsed, but will provide participants (state, business, universities and individuals) favorable environments for coordinated actions that represent added value to each and all participants with a reduced hierarchical control because the overall purpose is redefinition of gsed principles that meaningful taking into consideration each participant’s condition.

        한자문화권의 한자문화란 한문을 공용문어로 사용하여 영위된 종합적 지식체제 이다. 즉 한문을 지적 수단으로 사용하였던 사람들의 生活知, 學問知, 普遍知, 構想知등이 모여 이루어진 知識地形圖이다. 한자문화의 ‘知的傳統’은 가치의 역사적 축적이다. 특히 한국의 지적전통은 한 국의 지반에서 현실적으로 갖는 의미라고 할 수 있다. 한자기록으로 이루어진 지 적전통은 다양하게 전개되어 왔으며, 그것을 교육하고 학습하는 분야가 한문과목 이다. 우리의 한문문화를 동아시아 한문문화 속에서 비교하여 그 同異와 變化, 나아 가 普遍化를 분석할 때 우리만의 특성을 찾아낼 수 있다. 본고는 한자문화 중 전 통교육과 관련된 지식형성에 관해서 살펴보았다. 이 때 지식형성에 어떤 교재가 어떤 교육방법으로 사용되었는가를 밝히는 일은 매우 중요하다. 이에 ‘전통’ 한문 교육에서 그 지식의 분류와 지식의 실천내용을 고찰하여 지식형성의 틀을 찾아내고자 하였다. 전통적 몽학 한문교재는 天地人분류체계를 기반으로 지식을 형성하고 있다. 우선 자연에 대한 개괄적 이해를 토대로 하고, 그 위에 이상적 인간의 모습으로서 사회의 질서체제와 예교를 제시하였다. 이러한 분류체계는 고대사회의 식자교재 인 『급취장』을 비롯하여, 가장 널리 사용된『천자문』등의 중국교재는 물론이고, 조선시대의 『유합』이나『訓蒙字會』에서도 찾아볼 수 있다. 이런 분류체계 안에 서 초학자들은 識字와 함께 자연스럽게 전통적 세계관과 인간관에 접하고 수용할 수 있었다. 한편 교화용 교재는 자연에 관한 이해에 앞서 인간에 대한 이해를 다양하게 제 시하고 있다. 중국 宋代에 만들어진 『소학』,『삼자경』의 분류체계가 율곡의 『성학집요』나『격몽요결』등의 계몽서에 수용되어 계승되었다. 이러한 교화용 교재의 분류체계는 학습자로 하여금 심신의 수양과 독서를 통한 자기계발의 학습방법과 사회 속에서의 처신을 체득하게 한다. 이러한 전통적 몽학교재에 보이는 분류체계를 현대 한문교육 교재에 활용하게 되면, 교육과정에서 요구하는 전통의 이해와 계승의 한 방법이 될 것으로 기대한다.

        본 연구는 예비 지구과학교사들이 개발한 교정 교수학습자료의 문제점과 개발 과정에 영향을 주는 요소를 찾는 것이다. 이를 위해 전라북도에 소재하는 사범대학 과학교육학부(지구과학전공)에 재학 중인 54명(남자 18명, 여자 36명)으로부터 258개의 교정 교수학습자료를 수집하였다. 이를 분석한 결과 교정 교수학습자료는 개발하는 절차와 예비 지구과학교사들의 선행 지식에 의해 영향을 받고 있었다. 교정 탐색 우선형은 이미 형성된 선행 지식 범위 내에서 자료를 개발하기 때문에 이들이 개발한 자료는 교육과정의 특정 영역에 편중되어 있다. 이에 비해 개념 탐색 우선형은 대부분의 예비 지구과학교사들이 접근하지 못한 영역의 자료를 개발하였다. 올바른 선행 지식을 형성하지 못한 예비 지구 과학교사들은 잘못된 소재를 선택할 뿐 아니라 개념 연결에서도 오류를 범하고 있다. 또한, 대부분의 예비 지구과학교사들이 지질현상에 대한 과학개념을 형성하고 있다고 하더라도 생성과정을 무시하고 소재의 형태만을 주로 고려하고 있다. 그러므로 지질조사 및 고체지구과학 분야에 대한 충분한 학습이 가능하도록 지구과학교사 양성 교육과정에 충실히 반영해야 하며, 이를 바탕으로 예비 지구과학교사들의 지질학적 내용지식, 야외 교수학습 전략, 자료개발 절차 등이 하나의 통합적인 개념으로 형성될 수 있도록 지도할 필요가 있다.
