This study applied the Stochastic Frontier Analysis to estimate which independent variable affects to efficiency of aquaculture household. This study used wage and facility scale as input variables, sales volume as an output variable to estimate efficiency. Also, the study used region, species, water quality to estimate technical inefficiency factors of the model. The data used for this study were obtained by the operating costs survey using 1:1 interview method. The study selected translog production model with technical inefficiency term estimated as half-normal distribution. In addition, the study used pearson and spearman correlation coefficient among efficiency estimating models. Also, the study analysed differences among estimated efficiencies through t-test, and showed us 0.1793 in species, 0.4677 between Geojae and Masan.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) has been the most essential organization in Asia. In spite of the world economic crisis, Southeast Asian countries have shown fast economic growth since 2000, and they have been actively expanding investments and trades especially with major countries. Research on competitiveness in ASEAN market has spawned an increasingly large literature, but empirical research on the determinants of Korea’s export to ASEAN is limited. The purpose of this study is to draw out the determinant of Korean fisheries export to ASEAN by carrying out a panel analysis. For achieving such a purpose, pooled OLS, Hausman Test, Fixed Effect, Random Effect are performed. The last 20 years’data over the period of 1995 to 2014 concentrated on the ASEAN 6 countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam is used in this study. Amount of aquatic products export to ASEAN is used as the dependent variable; real exchange rate, real GDP, relative price level and GDP per capita are used as the explanatory variables and FTA as dummy variable. Empirical results show that fixed-effect analysis is the best model among all the models. As the fixed effect model shows, real exchange rate, real GDP, GDP per capita and dummy variable(FTA) play positive and statistically significant roles in fisheries export to ASEAN, while price variable plays a negative and statistically significant role to the dependent variable.

The purpose of this study is to estimate the economic value of boat fishing experience marine tourism activity in Jeju Island’s Chagwido. The economic value is estimated as consumer surplus using count data models including the truncated Poisson model and the truncated negative binominal distribution model. This study collects the effective 504 questionnaires from boat fishing experience tourists in Jeju Island’s Chagwido. The truncated negative binominal distribution model was statistically more suitable and valid than other models. The truncated negative binominal distribution model was applied to estimate consumer surplus as economic value from boat fishing experience tourism activity in Jeju Island’s Chagwido. A consumer surplus value per trip was estimated as about 209,900 won. The annual economic value from boat fishing experience tourism activity was estimated as 273,700 won in Jeju Island’s Chagwido. Consequently, boat fishing experience marine tourism activity has a very large economic value in Jeju Island.

This study investigated the difference of the effects of public loan programs in fishery industry on management performance from a balanced score card (BSC) perspective depending on the type of loan, scale of fund, period of support and business category, using the financial data of fisheries firms having the balance of loan at the end of 2014. The key factors influencing credit rating change were also analyzed after public loan support. From a integrative perspective, results show that the firms supported by working fund have higher management performance than the firms supported by facility fund. The firms received large scale fund showed higher management performance than the firms received small scale fund. While management performance was decreasing or slowing down over time after financial support, management performance of the firms supported by facility fund improved over time. From a non-financial perspective, the firms received facility fund invested more in education and growing perspective than the firms received working fund. As the size of fund increased, the investment in education, growing, internal process and customer increased. Personnel expenses and employee benefits for education and growing has increased over time. However, the firms with facility fund restricted the expenses of education, personnel expenses and employee benefits as time goes by. Because the effects of public loan on credit rating of fisheries corporations have no statistical significance, it has become known that the financial support of public loan program has no influence on the change of credit rating of fisheries corporations. This study attempted performance analysis from a BSC perspective which combine factors of nonfinancial perspective with factors of financial perspective. Findings from this study suggest the direction of microscopic performance analysis of public loan in fishery industry.
