The aim of this study is to examine profiles of consumers in Thai seaweed market segments. A total of 321 consumers were surveyed in bangkok, thailand. The multiple regression analysis performed indicates that consumer preference toward seaweed snack is significantly influenced by seaweed consumption frequency. The cluster analysis performed indicates that there are three segments based on consumer purchasing attributes toward seaweed snack : leading type, pursuing type, beginner type. The results show that there are consumer segment with different purchasing attributes level and seaweed preference. in this study Thai seaweed market’s biggest consumer is leading type consumer(n〓40.8%) that have high level of purchasing attributes toward seaweed snack when compared to other segments. pursuing type segment(n〓27.4%) consists of consumers who have low level of purchasing attributes but have high consumption frequency. beginner type segment(n〓31.8%) consists of consumers who rarely eat seaweed snack and have high price sensitivity. This study can inform Thai seaweed consumer’s behavior and effective segment market strategies and target consumer based on purchasing behavior toward seaweed snack.
This article’s aim is to review the jurisprudence which has emerged pursuant to the international dispute settlement provisions and to provide a provisional expectation as to the future of international dispute settlement under“UNCLOS”. Globally, marine fisheries play an important role in ocean biodiversity and the food security of millions of people, providing a vital source of high-quality dietary protein and supporting individuals’livelihoods and income. In the 1982 Convention, the establishment of co-operative mechanisms for effective monitoring, control, surveillance and enforcement, decision-making procedures facilitating the adoption of such measures of conservation and management, and the promotion of the peaceful settlement of disputes are called for. In this study,‘Northeast Asian Sea’means that the Yellow/ East China Sea, the East Sea, the Ohotsk Sea, the Kamchaka Sea, the Alaska Sea, and the Bering Sea surrounded by Korea, China, Japan, Russia, U.S.A. and Canada including their EEZs. There are several bilateral fisheries agreements existing in Northeast Asian area, the Fisheries Agreement between Republic Korea and Japan, between Republic of Korea and China, between China and Japan, between Republic Korea and U.S.A., between Republic Korea and Russia, between Russia and Japan, And there are several regional fisheries organizations existing in Northeast Asian area, for example NPAFC(Convention for the Conservation of Anadromous Stocks in the North Pacific Ocean), CBSPC (Convention on the Central Bering Sea Pollack Conservation), PICES(North Pacific Marine Science Organization), NPFC(North Pacific Fishery Commi-ssion) etc. It analyzed the proliferation of bilateral treaties and multilateral treaties due to the adoption of the EEZ in Northeast Asia reviewed the strengthening of management rights on the high seas marine living resources and marine environment preservation of regional fisheries organizations. In view of the changes in the international fisheries mechanism this paper suggested the future direction of the country in overseas fisheries. We concluded as follows. We shall apply bilateral treaties first, regional fisheries organizations’treaties secondly, and provisions under“UNCLOS”for dispute settlement last.
There have been several complications and problems about marine ranching policy. Regional conflicts have occurred in the process of selecting land for the pasture. And conflict occurred in post-management process. The causes of these conflicts were pointed out to lack of social science research and alternatives. The government-led initiative model, which ignores participation in each sector, has been pointed out as a problem. In order to increase the effectiveness of the marine ranching project, the following points should be considered. First, at the stage of establishing the ocean ranch business plan, social science approach should be considered together with natural science approach. Second, a governance system should be established to enhance the effectiveness of the marine ranch project. The governance system refers to a consultative body in which the central government and local governments, autonomous steering committees, research institutes, local civil society organizations, and participating companies participate. We can improve the efficiency of business by establishing and promoting direction, operation policy, and action plan of sea pasture business centering on governance system. Third, it is necessary to change the management system from the existing administration-led business model to the cooperative governance system - based model. The effectiveness of the marine ranching project can be improved through the governance system.
Fish mortality is the most important success factor in aquaculture management. To order fingerlings considering the effect of mortality is a important problem in aquaculture farm. This study is aimed to decision the number and size of fry in aquaculture farm. This study build the mathematical model that finds the value of decision variable to minimize total cost that sums up the fingerling purchasing cost, aquaculture farm operating cost and feeding cost under mortality constraint. The proposed mathematical model involve biological and economical variables: (1) number of fingerlings (2) fish growth rate (3) mortality (4) price of a fry (5) feeding cost, and (6) possible order period. Numerical simulation model presented here in. The objective of numerical simulation is to provide for decision makers to analyse and comprehend the proposed model. When extensive biological and cost data become available, the proposed model can be widely applied to yield more accurate results.
This study is aimed to analyze the change of chinese fishing vessels’entry into the East Sea off North Korea and suggest directions for countermeasures. Based on the real landing data in China, Chinese fishing vessels’squid catch volume and value in the East Sea off North Korea are estimated. Results show that at least 205 thousand tons of squid was caught by Chinese fishing vessels in 2014. If the catch amount is calculated by the unit price per kilogram at the same year in Korea, it would be 556.3 billion KRW. As the UN sanctions become stricter with the recent resolution 2371 passed, Chinese fishing vessels’entry may increase in the future to compensate decreased seafood supply from North Korea. Even though there are not many options left for Korea to decrease the impact of Chinese depletive fishing, the study suggests countermeasures such as strengthening cooperative crack down on the Chinese illegal fishing vessels in Korean waters; increasing cooperation with UN member countries to incorporate banning the trade of fishing rights in the next UN sanctions; establishing regional fisheries management organization and managing migratory species with China and Japan cooperatively in the long term.

Many experts prospect that the 21st century will be the century of ocean. In recent years, many countries are interested in ocean and marine tourism can be significantly developed in the future. Jeju Island is an island formed by a volcanic eruption, which has a very high landscape value, and It is an oceanic climate with a yearly high temperature due to turbulent flow throughout the years, But Marine tourism is not developed. The purpose of this study is clarify the Marine Tourism activity types, Marine Tourism satisfaction and revisit intention of Chinese Tourists visiting JeJu island. And studies what is the needed activity types of Chinese Marine Tourist in future. This study deals with on the activity types, satisfaction and revisit intention of JeJu Marine Tourism With 252 effective responses gathered from an onsite survey. The statistical analysis of the data was conducted using techniques of frequency analysis, t-test and anova analysis.
