In this paper, punching shear test of flat plate reinforced by plates with openings has performed. And compared critical section of ACI 318, BS 8110, and Eurocode 2. Non-reinforced specimens and specimens that reinforced by GFRP plates with openings are manufactured. Shear reinforcement spacing was used as parameter for specimens reinforced by GFRP plates. Crack pattern showed that critical section increased as shear reinforcement spacing increased compared to critical section of ACI 318, BS 8110, and Eurocode 2. Critical section calculated by ACI 318 was the smallest predicted section, and sections calculated by BS 8110 and Eurocode 2 are larger predicted section.

The leak issues that arise in the 2-Arch Tunnel are caused by groundwater being trapped in the central pillar portion. Therefore, the most reasonable repair method should be suggested after the analysis of what causes the leak.

Lateral movement of bridge abutment is frequently causing damages to the expansion joints, bearings, bridge backwall and settlement of approach slabs. This result in high maintenance cost and inconvenience to road users. In this study, about 1,000 bridges which was lateral movement occur were investigated. Based on the inverstigation, some suggestions to minimize the lateral movements of abutment were proposed to include reinforcement method of lateral movements occurred bridges.

To monitor static and dynamic responses of bridges, an image-based monitoring system using networking PTZ IP (Pan-Tilt-Zoom Internet Protocol) cameras has been developed. Triggers to acquire video or still-images are performed when structural events like vibrations or excessive displacements occur. Also, periodic or user-defined triggers can be performed. When a trigger occurs, the system collects bridge members' images along the pre-defined touring route of a group of presets and extracts relative displacements between images.

The Goal of research is that budget of maintenance were estimated in network-level bridges. We determined the life cycle of exchangeable bridge element with HBMS(Highway Bridge Management System) data by applying the survival analysis probability model. We predicted all of the highway bridge’s conditions in korea depending on budget scenario by the probability model.

The maintenance costs will be increased due to the aging of the bridge. Thus, the maintenance strategy considering the damage characteristic of elements is needed for the efficient maintenance of the bridge. The objective of this research is that damage characteristic were estimated by analyzing the change in the presence or absence of damage to a structural member of the bridge for the detailed safety inspection conducted two or more times.

Chloride attack, one of the reasons for early deterioration of concrete, is a phenomenon where detrimental ions such as chlorine ion penetrate into concrete from outside to diffuse and corrode the steel rebar, greatly deteriorating the durability of RC members or structures. Sources of chloride attack can be divided into the direct / indirect influence caused by seawater or its splash in the maritime environment and the de-icing salts used for the purpose of thawing the ice on the wintry road. Most notably, the usage of de-icing salts is essential for the safety of drivers and smooth traffic flows in expressways. However, they also quicken the deterioration of concretes, necessitating the countermeasures for the problem. This paper discusses the early deterioration and measurements of RC Structures under de-icing salts environments.

There are a lot of difficulty in present inspection that need many inspectors and much time. It is necessary to improve this inspection working environment. So, we developed an inspection system it can solve problems in current visual inspection and it systemize the inspection tasks scientifically. This is an optimized culvert inspection system which enable to measure a surface condition and sectional shape change. it is used various convergence technology such as 3D laser scanning, digital image processing and texture mapping.

Recently, the use of eco-friendly deicer is recommended for solving problem of chloride deicing salts. The laboratory tests are often used to evaluate deicer performance, but they have been shown to correlate poorly to actual field performance. Thus, we would like to introduce the field test method for improving the performance qualification of anti-icing materials.

As environmental concerns become a critical issue in the sustainability of the steel industry, manufacturing of various kinds of glass-ceramics and related functional materials recycled from post-mortem slags has become an important topic of research. The slag composition, which was reduced and cooled using this secondary treatment is affected by the operating parameters and thermo-physical properties of the slag, and thus can provide the potential for utilization in highly value-added products such as Portland cement and high-alumina cement. To increase the applications of the reduced slag product, a new cement material as well as slag aggregates from the EAF slags were developed by controlling the composition and morphology through novel methods.

To improve the quality of polyurea paints, the conventional polyurea heat resistance and wear resistance performance was confirmed with the test method of KS F 4922 and KS M 6080. The test results showed that the enhanced polyurea paints increase the applicability of concrete and asphalt concrete.

The use of de-icing and anti-icing materials is widespread throughout countries enduring cold and snowy weather to ensure safe winter-driving conditions. In particular sodium and calcium chlorides, chlorides-based materials have been used for many years. However, as the negative effects of corrosion on motor vehicles, infrastructures, and the environment have been understood, which concerns have risen regarding the use of these salts for de-icing roads. For this reason, we investigated the advanced technology and research trend of eco-friendly de-icing materials.

This paper addresses the seismic performance of reinforced concrete coupling beams with various reinforcing details for a design alternative to simply the reinforcement details of coupling beam. The numerical analysis and test results showed that angle reinforced coupling beam exhibited a better stable behavior in comparison with non-diagonally coupling beams and sustained corresponding drift ratio, peak-to-peak stiffness and cumulative dissipated energy in comparison to diagonPally coupling beam.

In this paper, performance based design method was applied to the special shear wall system to verify the cost effective approach of the method. Linear dynamic analysis, inelastic dynamic analysis and inelastic static analysis are used to analyze for comparing to the strength-based design method in economic performance. Simulation result shows that was shown the construction cost savings was achieved by reducing the amount of reinforcement steel when applying the performance based design method.

This study developed the Anti-Floating Method using PHC Pile adapting to the Underground Structures. This Method fixed the wedges on the P.C. strands of the PHC Pile to reinforce the adhesion strength in the concrete foundation. Pullout test result showed 2~3 times better than the present method, so the developed method can be used as the Anti-Floating Method of underground structures.

This study carried out field test construction by slip-form method with on site concrete batch, The results show that slip form method is good at the Quality assurance and constructability of L tyoe curbs and gutters but it is difficult for Quality control.
