As a eco-friendly material, Hwangtoh (red clay) has been studied for complete or partial replacement of portland cement consisted in concrete. In this research, the experimental works were conducted to study the initial quality control for the compressive strength of Hwangtoh concrete (24MPa) using the ultrasonic pulse velocity method and the impact echo method of nondestructive test methods.
The construction industry is high risk in all process that are feasibility study, planning and design, construction, occupancy, use, operation and maintenance etc. These days risk are occurring in maintenance stage. In this study evaluated the aging facility after maintenance through simple quality monitoring. The results, That were able to identify the extent maintenance of facility.
In this study, in order to measure the seepage through dam body and foundation, we conduct geophysical survey such as electromagnetic survey in A dam that has not been measured quantitative seepage. Therefore we will analyze the reasons and establish the improvement.
In this study, measurement temperature in the bridges was compared with temperature proposed by Korean design code. In addition, the structural analysis was performed in order to comparing the stress by measured thermal load and the stress by design thermal load. As a result, the stress that applied measurement temperature was evaluated larger than the stress that applied temperature proposed by Korean design code.

In this study, the seismic performance is evaluated through the effect analysis according to the before and after aging properties on laminated rubber bearing on the water tank retrofitted with laminated rubber bearing. As a result of this analysis, it was found that the changes in the basic properties of the laminated rubber bearing caused by the aging bring only a minor effect on the seismic performance of water tank.
In this study, Impedence of bridge paint coating was measured using EIS(Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) to evaluate durability of paint coating depeding on coating thickness. Thus, paint coating specimens with different paint thickness were used. From impedence mesearment, the durability of paint coating was compared.
This study was performed to evaluate the cable tension of cable-stayed bridge by using vibration method and Lift-Off Test. As a result, cable tension by the vibration method and Lift-Off Test is most similar.
A PSC girder with I-typed section is one of the most common types applied to road and rail bridges in South Korea. As public service life of PSC bridges is on increase, lots of effort has been devoted to verify safety of PSC bridges. On the safety of PSC bridges, effective prestress force is one of the most important factor. At the current time, however, indirect measurements are mostly employed to measure the effective prestress force during construction. In this study, performances of FBG and EM sensors, which can directly measure the effective prestress force, are tested and investigated. The test result can be useful to develop block-out PSC girders with FBG and EM sensors monitoring effective prestress force during service life.
This experiment can maximize the decline of the heat on steel structure by using the magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide which generally used to resistant or retardant. These materials can delay a temperature rise due to the generation of vapors around the fire resistive covering, when reacting with heat by a creating moisture. Therefore, applicability of the fire resistance mortar used magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide was studied and experimented. As a result, in case of the workability is satisfied with the condition of site, but in case of the bonding strength is not satisfied with the standard with fire resistance mortar.
Recently, in the tunnel precise inspection, the problem of the lining concrete cracks is much concerned. Thus, in this study, the behavior of the existing tunnel was measured by automation system to analyze the characteristics of lining cracks.
고속철 PSC 교량받침의 장기 마찰시험은 EN1337-2와 CUAP03.01/78기준을 기반으로 동일한 수직압력에 대한 온도변수별 누적 마찰거리 25,000 m 장기마찰시험을 수행하였다. 기존의 PTFE판은 우수한 마찰계수 결과에도 불구하고 10,000 m에서 손상되어 한계 내구성능을 나타 내었고, 반면에 DP-Mate판은 일부 온도구간에서 한계 마찰계수를 상회하였으나 성공적으로 장 기마찰시험을 만족시켰다. 개발된 마찰시험장치를 이용하여 온도변화(-35℃~70℃)내 저속(0.4 mm/s)시험 12 Cycle과 상온 고속(15 mm/s)시험 11 Cycle 을 32 일간 수행하였다.
Currently, major SOC structures of Korea are necessary to multilateral inspection as aging very fast. In this study, SOC facilities' status of Korea was investigated and analyzed for calculating Korean representative rating. Also, after evaluation methods for rating of international facilities were researched, they were used as a base data for Korean representative rating.
The change of paradigm to performance-Based evaluation system for maintenance of SOC infrastructure is the effective way to invest limited financial. Selecting of the evaluation items is very important to develop a comprehensive performance assessment techniques and it determined by Delphi analysis. Also, to analyze the importance of the performance items, the AHP analysis was performed.
The current domestic SOC facilities focuses on checking stability by a physical evaluation. In this study, the concept for calculating SOC facilities’ Korean representative rating is set up by analyzing international SOC facilities' evaluation methods and objects and factors of evaluation for it. Also, facilities by suggesting design plan based on established concept for calculating each facilities’ rating.
Evaluation criteria for rockfall is proposed using 137 real data. Rockfall data was classified 3 categories considering damage level of rockfall protection fence, and rockfall energy for each was made a calculation. In results, 50kJ, 70kJ and 117kJ of rockfall energy are proposed as evaluation criteria.
The Characteristics of water catchment terrain on the cut-slopes of general nation road was analyzed. As the water catchment terrain increased the frequency defects on slopes are increased, and it shows a linear increase pattern.
As a results of analyzing the location of water catchment terrain, when the intersection line of water catchment terrain located in the slopes the frequency defects were higher then it located top of slopes. also the types of defects were different.
