Traditional marine structures are difficult to construct under the marine environment. These structure have maintenance costs associated with the chloride attack environments. In this paper, a new structure system is proposed to overcome these disadvantages. The connection of precast reinforced concrete girders and bent cap is the main feature of the proposed structure system. To assess the joint performance of the proposed methods, full-scale joint was fabricated and tested under cyclic loading. The key parameters examined were the pile displacement; the strain in the reinforcement; and the crack patterns in the concrete. The test structure behaved stably for cyclic loading. The test structure is analyzed to be safe in all members.

Anchors used in concrete structures are classified into cast-in-place anchors and post-installed anchors. At post-installed anchors, the effective embedment depth, measured from the concrete surface to the deepest point, is an important variable to grasp the performance of anchors. Because effective embedment depth is depth to transmit force to the concrete. In this study, we conducted pull-out test of M12 and M16 post-installed anchors, evaluated the performance of anchors.

In this study, MR(Magneto-Rheological) Grease fluid was developed for compensating the settling phenomena of MR(Magneto-Rheological) fluid which is widely used in semi-active control system. In order to characterize the settling phenomena of the MRG fluid, the experimental comparison was conducted. The control performance assessment of the MRG fluid was also evaluated. As a result, it was verified that the MRG fluid have the sufficient performances to use as a material for semi-active control device.

Recently, Earthquake occurrence in korea has become frequent, and the seismic safety of low-rise piloti buildings becomes more and more important. In this study, the seismic retrofit method of low-rise eccentric core type piloti building structures using concrete filled steel tube (CFT) columns was analysed and verified for seismic performance.

This study evaluates seismic risk of steel ordinary concentrically braced frames. Based on the risk integral concept, the collapse probabilities in 50 years are calculated for the 3-, 5- and 10-story braced frames. The evaluation results present that the collapse probabilities in 50 years are increased for the higher braced frames although they are identically designed according to the current domestic seismic design code.

In this study, it modeled the ground proper to geotechnical site characteristics in Korean urban area, compared geotechnical site characteristics of the selected 158 grounds in Korean urban areas with characteristics of the ground in the western part of the United States and performed earthquake responses to improve the decision method of the design earthquake force. Based on the amplification factor from the analysis results, the response spectra of each ground were developed and analyzed with the design response spectra presented in the seismic design criteria.

This study proposed a seismic isolation system which uses the LM guide featuring high hardness and low frictional coefficient and a viscoelastic damper possessing high restitution force and damping force in order that existing seismic isolation systems using conventional sliding bearing way can be applied to a structure, and intended to analyze the proposed seismic isolation system's utilization possibility as a seismic isolation system for rescue through an experiment utilizing 6 earthquake waves being entered according to the reoccurrence cycle on the basis of performance-based design, and the case of Kyungju earthquake and to interpret the results of experiment.

This paper addresses simplified method for nonlinear soil–structure interactions (SSI) analysis of base-isolated nuclear power plant (NPP) structure under incident seismic waves. The accuracy and applicability of the method are evaluated by comparing with nonlinear time history responses obtained by the boundary reaction method (BRM).

This paper aims to developed SMC-Fractional algorithm, that is, enhances the performance of Sliding Mode Control(SMC) algorithm for pounding control of Multi-span bridges using MR-damper. The pounding control performance of SMC-Fractional algorithm has been evaluated in shaking table test on multi-span bridge. As a result of the experiment, the SMC-Fractional algorithm showed the performance od reducing the relative displacement of adjacent spans over other algorithms.

Seismic performance capacity of CFT seismic retrofit method was studied through cyclic loading test. The added CFT columns share the lateral seismic force of the building with the existing RC columns to prevent building collapse. The experiment shows stable hysteric load-displacement curve.

This study presents the structural modelling method for the seismic behavior characteristics evaluation of flat stone bridge. To this end, we select the representative flat stone bridge according to the construction and configuration types. Also, this study provides the discrete element method for the reasonable seismic modelling of discontinuum structures.
