Purpose : This study investigated the consumer satisfaction of the rehabilitation counseling via internet for parents of children with developmental disabilities aged under 6.
Methods : The web site for internet counseling (ddchild.com) consisted of 1,500-page information for educating children at risk, with mental retardation, autism, learning disabilities, and cerebral palsy. Internet counseling was conducted in the form of Q/A, real-time chatting, monthly interview, and search engine. The consumer survey form was dispatched to a total of 1,459 registered members and 91 (7%) of them replied to the survey. The survey included general information of the respondents, the types of disabilities they used mostly, their satisfaction level, criticisms and suggestions to this internet counseling.
Results : The general characteristics of the respondents were: (1) The users were distributed across the nation from Seoul and its vicinity (61%) to Cheju (1%); (2) The respondents’ 68% was middle or lower middle class; (3) The types of disabilities were children at risk including learning disabilities and ADHD (37%), autism (21%), mental retardation (21%), cerebral palsy(18.5%). The 68% of the respondents were satisfied with the internet counseling, and 65% actively used the data base consisted of rehabilitation information for educating children with developmental disabilities. Regarding the usage of the data base, 49% replied that this program was very helpful, because the instructions were described with concrete examples, 47.7% “helpful in understanding how to teach these children,” and 27.7% “in better understanding the behaviors of these children.” As to the suggestions, the respondents demanded two things. One is that the government build more schools and centers for educating these children along with more economic support, and the other requests are related to the operation of this internet counseling: enforcing of speech therapy program, opening of demonstration program with regard
to the usage of this system, and setting up a psychological counseling for the parents.
Conclusion : Operation of the internet counseling system can be a viable approach for providing early intervention programs for parents with developmental disabilities with low-cost effectiveness in the country where early intervention has not been systematically established.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of personal and job characteristics on the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of dietitians employed in different foodservice settings. The subjects were dietitians(n=830) employed by schools, hospitals, and industries in Daegu Gyeongbuk area. A questionnaire was used to determine personal and job characteristics, commitment and satisfaction. Organizational commitment scores were the highest for hospital dietitians, and the lowest for industry dietitians (p<0.05). Industry dietitians felt significantly less loyal to their organizations than did the other dietitians(p<0.05). School and hospital dietitians were significantly more likely to say they cared about the fate of their organizations and thought their organizations were the best to work for. Age, education, length of employment, and wages were positively associated with hospital dietitians' commitment(p<0.05). For all dietitians, the fewer the work hours, the higher the commitment(p<0.05). When asked to rate their satisfaction with various aspects of their jobs, dietitians expressed the most satisfaction with co-workers, and the least satisfaction with promotion opportunities. School dietitians were significantly less satisfied with pay and promotion than were the other dietitians. Organizational commitment was associated with wages(0.05), autonomy(0.08), feedback(0.16), dealings with others(0.07), and task identity(0.09). Job satisfaction was affected by educational level(-0.13), wages(0.10), autonomy(0.18), friendship opportunities(0.14), feedback(0.16), task identity(-0.11) and organizational commitment(0.40) (Lisrel program).
The purpose of the study was to compare the satisfaction level on hospital meal size and actual intake rate of hospital foods between elderly and middle aged patients. Sixty one middle aged and one hundered thirty two elderly patients were surveyed on the foods served in the hospital-rice, soup, meat/fish, vegetable, kimchi and daily products. Compared to the middle aged patients, the more elderly thought the serving size of rice was too big(p<0.05), and those of soup, meat/fish and kimchi tended to be too big. There was no difference in the satisfaction level on the serving size of vegetable dish between two age groups. In actual intake rates of hospital meal there were no significant differences between the elderly and middle aged patients. However, the elderly male ate significantly(p<0.05) less amount of rice than the middle aged male and the elderly female ate significantly(p<0.01) less amount of meat/fish then the middle aged female. Satisfaction levels and actual intake rates were significantly correlated in all food items.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic materials for food service consumption culture by proving the problem with food service purchase and its improvements. For this purpose, it was attempted to grasp university students' food service purchase behavior and level of satisfaction with it and to investigate the factors influencing their level of satisfaction with food service purchase. The questionnaire research was conducted for university students living in Seoul and Chungcheong provinces. 453 questionnaires obtained from them were used for final analysis. As a results, the following finding were obtained: 1. In case of university students, their level of consumer satisfaction with food service purchase was shown to be the score of 37.99(63.06/on the basis of 100 points). They showed the highest level of satisfaction with quality, followed by facility and atmosphere, service, price and the like. 2. The factor having the greatest influence on university students' level of satisfaction with food service purchase was shown to be gender(female), followed by food service place(Korean food restaurant, Chinese food restaurant, Western food restaurant, flour-based meals restaurant), consumer attitude, average monthly food service cost.
User satisfaction is the most critical criteria in measuring information systems success or failure. In this study. Contract Foodservice Information Systems were evaluated with user satisfaction instrument based on previous work. A total of 70 Contract Foodservice Information Systems users was surveyed. The status of building area of Contract Foodservice Information Systems was more in foodservice management (M=3.74), but less in producing (M=2.53) and purchasing (M=3.02) management. The users recognized accuracy of information (M=4.27), lasting educational services on systems (M=4.34) and increasing work productivity (M=4.42) as the most important factors and they also recognized it was important factors to build systems such area database management, menu management, purchasing and producing management and foodservice management (p<0.1).
The purpose of this study was analyzed the general factors that influence school dietitians` satisfaction from their regular duties, the current status of food distribution to students and the relationship between dietitians and their governing authorities. Dietitians of primary school had higher score on direct management and working career. High school dietitian had higher scores on consignment management, freedom in amount of food distribution and number of meals a day. The highest score was on the relationship with other coworkers and the lowest score was on the poor working environment and salary. In general, dietitians in all schools are not satisfied the working environment and salary. Depending upon the duty time, there were differences in the nature of their duties. There was also a significant difference in the nature of duties and the professionalism based on the average income. Even though they got paid less, they felt satisfaction because of the less working times. The amount of labor for those in primary schools was more than the one for dietitians in high schools. It is likely that they got more satisfied when other related people feel satisfied with their own things and duties based on the nature of the duties, discretion of duties, professionalism, relationship with other coworkers and participation in decision making process. It is to develop the nature of the duties for all the dietitians in order to launch the new and right ideas in meal plans for students. It is also to promote and uphold the professionalism and efficient management programs in association with the stable human resources. Assuming we will come up with a wide and broad nationwide survey, and further research shall be more reliable and objective than any others.
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether a group of predictor variables which constitute four determinants of dining satisfaction do exert a significant influence on messures of dining satisfaction in family restaurant. Canonical correlation analysis is used to achieve the purpose of this study. This technique enables the researcher to test for the effects of a set of predictor variables upon a multidimensional measure of dining satisfaction in family restaurant. Results suggest that multiple determinants are important in determining dining satisfaction in family restaurant. No one determinant can fully explain its complexities. The four determinants also appear to vary in terms of importance. Individual variables within four determinants also appear to vary in terms of importance. Finally, the results of the study provide some insight into the types of marketing strategies that can be successfully used by operators who manage family restaurants.
