        Piezodialysis involves the preferential permeation of ions over water molecules through charge mosaic membranes (CMM). This energy-efficient process incites interest as an alternative route to water desalination. But the development of effective CMMs remains a challenge due to their difficult fabrication. Herein, preparation of the positive and negative domains of a CMM were optimized. Negative poly(sodium styrene sulfonate) was blended in poly(vinyl alcohol) matrix, same as that of the positive poly(diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride). Results reveal that a balance between the two domains is critical for the CMM to achieve high salt enrichment and mechanical stability.         In this study, we optimized the coffee extraction conditions for instant coffee production in two stage percolators, which is the most common coffee extractor for instant coffee production. A central composite design was used to build mathematical model equations for response surface methodology (RSM). In these equations, the yield and overall acceptability of the coffee extracts were expressed as second-order functions of three factors, the feed water temperature, draw-off factor (DOF), and extraction time (cycle time). Based on the result of RSM, the optimum conditions were obtained with the use of desirability function approach (DFA) which find the best compromise area among multiple options. The optimum extraction conditions to maximize the yield and overall acceptability over 40% of yield were found with 163℃ of feed water temperature, 4.3 of DOF and 27 minutes of extraction time (cycle time). These results provide a basic data for the coffee extraction conditions for the competitive instant coffee in the industry.

        The purpose of this research was to evaluate the correlation between obesity, threshold of salty taste, optimal saltiness and blood pressure in middle school students in a fishing village. The subjects were 115 boys and 103 girls in middle school in a fishing village. The BMI index and systolic and diastolic blood pressures of subjects were measured, and the subjects were divided into a normal and obese group according to their BMI. The threshold of salty taste and salt preference for a semisolid dish (steamed egg dish), liquid dish (bean sprout soup), and a solid dish (raw radish salad), were estimated by sensory evaluation. Calorie intake was measured using the weighing plate method. The boys in the obese group showed significantly higher systolic and diastolic blood pressures than those in the normal, but girls did not. Furthermore, calorie intakes of the boys in the obese group were significantly higher than those in the normal group, but this was not shown in girls. On the threshold of salty taste, both boys and girls in the obese group needed higher concentration of salt than those in the normal group. The threshold of salty taste were significantly positively correlated with systolic pressure and diastolic pressure in boys. Regarding the salt preference in the steamed egg dish, bean-sprout soup, and raw radish salad, both boys and girls in the obese group preferred higher concentrations. The higher concentration they preferred, the higher the systolic and diastolic pressures were in boys, but only systolic blood pressure was higher in girls. From these results, it is evident that a nutritional education program is needed in school to help restricting middle school students salt consumption and decreasing obesity to prevent hypertension.

        생강은 오랫동안 음식과 약초로 사용되어 왔다. 생강의 주요 생리활성성분으로 gingerol과 shogaol 등이 있으며 이들은 항산화와 항염 등에 효과가 있다고 알려져 있다. 하지만 생강과육에 대한 연구는 많이 진행되고 있는 것에 반해 껍질에 대한 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 아임계수 추출은 압력을 조절하여 끓는점과 임계점 사이에서 물을 액체상태로 유지시켜 추출하는 방법으로 gingerol과 shogaol 같은 비극성 화합물을 유기용매를 사용하지 않고 추출하는데 효율적인 추출방법이다. 본 연구의 목적은 아임계수를 이용하여 생강껍질에서 생강의 주요 생리활성성분인 6-gingerol과 6-shogaol의 최대 수율을 나타내는 최적 추출 조건을 찾는 것이다. 추출은 다양한 추출 시간(5-20분) 및 온도(110-190°C)에서 Dionex Accelerated Solvent Extractor (ASE, Model 350)를 사용하여 수행하였다. 6-gingerol과 6-shogaol은 HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography)를 이용하여 분석하였으며 항산화능은 FRAP분석법에 의해 평가되었다. 6-gingerol 함량은 110°C에서 추출 시간에 따라 증가하였지만, 130°C와 150°C에서는 증가하다 시간이 길어질수록 감소했다. 이후 온도에서는 시간에 따라 함량이 감소하여 130°C에서 10분간 추출했을 때 6-gingerol이 가장 많이 함유된 추출물을 얻을 수 있었다. 6-shogaol은 110°C에서 검출되지 않았고 130°C 이상의 온도에서 검출되기 시작했다. 6-shogaol은 130°C부터 170°C까지 추출온도와 시간이 증가할수록 함량이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 190°C에서는 15분까지 추출시간에 따라 증가하다 20분동안 추출 시 6-shogaol의 함량이 줄어 190°C에서 15분간 추출했을 시 가장 높은 수율을 보였고 이는 메탄올을 이용하여 60°C에서 2시간동안 추출한 추출물보다 높은 수율이었다. 이는 gingerol이 열에 의해 shogaol로 전환되는 성질이 있고 온도가 증가하며 6-shogaol의 추출이 이루어지다가 열에 많이 노출될 경우 6-shogaol이 다른 형태로 분해되기 때문으로 보인다. 항산화능 역시 6-shogaol의 함량과 유사한 경향을 보였으며 추출온도와 시간이 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 생강껍질을 190°C의 아임계수를 이용하여 15분간 추출할 경우 6-shogaol의 수율을 최대로 하여 항산화능이 높은 추출물을 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 오직 물만을 이용한 아임계수 추출을 이용해 생강의 부산물로 버려지던 생강껍질의 활용가능성을 확인하였다.

        This study concerned the analysis on the efficiency of the conversion of water tank type supply system to direct water supply system to examine the feasibility of the conversion, as well as the calculation of optimal conversion range that enables the supply of safe, high-quality water at stable pressure in accordance with the standards of water supply facility. The results of this research showed that when converting water supply system from water tank type supply system to direct water supply system, more nodal points could be properly converted and more reduction of electricity usage was expected in case water pressure rather than residence time was fixed. This means that higher efficacy can be obtained by fixing water pressure when converting water supply system. However, since the number of the locations that received on-spot inspection was small and the electricity usage measured was not exclusively by water supply facility, it is difficult to judge that such reduction of electricity usage accurately represents reduced electricity usage by water supply facility alone. therefore, after having secured on-spot information about a larger number of locations in apartment complexes that have converted water supply system, and utilizing information about electricity usage exclusively by water supply facility, the proposed method of this research could be applied to accurately deducing expected reduction of electricity usage by water supply facilities of various other apartment complexes. It is also considered possible to deduce an effective operation method of water supply system by finding out an area that shows low pressure or low residual chlorine concentration in the optimal conversion range of water supply, followed by estimating the proper location of pumping station or the proper chlorine dosage at the power purification plant that supply water to the target area.

        In this study, factors analysis is performed for reducing friction in elevation motion of a large television stand over 50 inch. The first study is for specification decision and volume compensation experiment as an apparatus for compensating of the volume of the cylinder is compressed as the volume of piston rod. The second study is for optimized piston structure development by comparison pipe orifice and labyrinth orifice. Consequently, the result of total consideration in stability problem and performance of volume compensation for specification decision and volume compensation experiment is determined the final speculation of hollow rod ∅8 x ∅4 and riveting system. and the labyrinth orifice is not founded that of the Ø0.4~0.6 orifice both tests on 300 mm intervals.

        In this paper, we take into account topology optimization problems considering spatial randomness in the material property of elastic modulus. Based on 88 lines MATLAB Code, Monte Carlo analysis has been performed for MBB(messerschmidt-bo lkow-blohm) model using 5,000 random sample fields which are generated by using the spectral representation scheme. The random elastic modulus is assumed to be Gaussian in the spatial domain of the structure. The variability of the volume fraction of the material, which affects the optimum topology of the given problem, is given in terms of correlation distance of the random material. When the correlation distance is small, the randomness in the topology is high and vice versa. As the correlation distance increases, the variability of the volume fraction of the material decreases, which comply with the feature of the linear static analysis. As a consequence, it is suggested that the randomness in the material property is need to be considered in the topology optimization.

        It is considered necessary to renewal a considerable number of water supply facilities in Korea because they began to be intensively buried in the period of rapid economic growth. Accordingly, local water providers are required to take measures against this situation, but they have currently been caught in a vicious circle of the lack of budget spent in renewing water supply facilities because county-based small-scale local water supply cannot afford to cover annual expenditures with their revenues from water rates. Therefore, this study developed an optimal renewal planning model capable of achieving a balance of financial revenue and expenditure in local water supply using nonlinear programming and furthermore of minimizing the total cost incurred during the analysis. To this end, this study selected the water supply area located in County Y as a research area to build the financial revenue and expenditure and used Solver function provided by Microsoft Excel to use nonlinear programming. As a result, this study developed an optimal renewal planning model minimizing incurred costs in consideration of 6 items in the financial revenue and expenditure. The optimal renewal plan was modeled according to the available annual budget. As a result, this study proposed SICD, a scenario to minimize total costs from the perspective of water suppliers, and SITS, a scenario to minimize the increase in water rates from the perspective of consumers. It can be said that the method proposed in this study is the core of the optimal financial and renewal plans as a final stage of asset management for water supply facilities. Therefore, it is considered possible for local water providers to use the method proposed in this study according to circumstances for the asset management of water supply facilities.

        In this paper, it is covered in detail the process of generating structural alternatives with geometry change and its optimization by StrAuto. The main roof structure of the Exhibition Center is modelled parametrically and the optimal alt is derived by observing volume changes according to geometry change of main roof truss. Existing studies performed optimization process through sections and properties due to the limitations of shape change, but this study have meaning of performing the optimization with geometry changes which is the most critical skills of StrAuto. By the process of securing a sufficient margin by geometry changes and reducing volume with the optimization of sections, despite of a partial optimization of large space structure, it could be reduced by 11.7% of the total volume.

        The object of research in Based on 1.5MW wind turbine blade. This paper has carried out the aerodynamic shape optimization design of wind turbine blade. Based on the aerodynamic basic theory of wind turbine blade design and combined with particle swarm optimization algorithm, the design optimization model of the aerodynamic shape of blade is established. The calculation programs are written by use of MATLAB and calculate chord length and torsion angle of the blade. Then the shape of wind turbine blade is obtained. As research we can know that the chord length is decreased after optimization design of wind turbine blade, The optimized blade not only meets the actual manufacturing requirement, but also has the largest wind energy utilization coefficient.

        Abstract The increase of the superheat is one of several factors adversely affecting the efficiency of the refrigeration cycle. To this end, it is important to release the heat inside the compressor. Therefore, in this paper, we have increased the convective heat transfer coefficient inside the compressor by utilizing the vibration of the moving part of the compressor. The results show that reducing the gap between the shell and the moving part increases the flow velocity in the gap resulting in the increase of convective heat transfer coefficient.

        The background of this study is to establish a systematic development process for SSD(Solid State Drive) which is being watched as the next generation auxiliary memory device and to make stable production. In order to do so, we select the two products that have been developed and classify and analyze all defects generated in each product by type and process of defects. The root cause of the fault and its background were reflected in the contradiction matrix of TRIZ's technical contradiction, and the improvements suggested in the 40 inventive principles were reflected in the test case design methodology of each process. Finally, this study suggests a process optimization method for systematic development.

        As a result of frequent occurrence of serious industrial accidents due to chemical substances, Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency has been implementing the PSM system (process safety management) since 1996, and the target sites are required to submit process safety reports. In the semiconductor business, which is becoming smaller and more integrated as the technology advances, many of these hazardous chemicals are used. Most of the semiconductor sites are PSM target sites, and many devices are included in the PSM target equipment. This study optimizes the introduction and setup process of new equipments in the semiconductor workplace using harmful hazardous materials, and conducted an empirical study on the improvement of the safety risk, focusing on the S group semiconductor business, and applied the common standard of work under the PSM system This is an example of improving the risk of leakage of toxic gas components and waste of rework by arranging functions and risks in the space centering method

        본 연구는 참취의 데치기 최적 공정 조건을 확립하고 조건마다 생산된 추출물의 총 페놀 화 합물, 플라보노이드의 함량, DPPH를 분석을 수행하여 항산화 활성의 변화를 연구하였다. 데치기 최적 공정은 시간 과 온도를 요인으로 하여 표면반응분석법으로 수행을 하였다. 데치기 공정 후에 추출물을 제조하여 데치기가 총 페놀함량, 플라보노이드, DPPH radical 소거능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 시행한 데치기 시간 및 온도 범위에서 총 페놀 함량의 범위는 13.00 - 35.48 mg/g 이고 최대 예측 총 페놀함량은 35.48 mg/g, 플라보노이드는 함량의 범위는 2.35 - 8.38 mg/g 이고 최대 예측 플 라보노이드 함량 은 8.38 mg/g, DPPH 라디칼 소거능의 범위는 42.10 - 67.14%이고 최대 예측 DPPH 라디칼 소거능은 67.14%로 측정 되었다. 전체적으로 보면 총 페놀 함량, 플라보노이드, DPPH radical 소거의 변화는 데치기 시간 보다 온도에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 총 페놀 함량의 경향을 보면 데 치기 시간에 따라 급격히 증가하는 것으로 보였지만 플라보노이드 함량의 경우 데치기 온도가 증가함에 따라 급격히 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 총 항산화능은 데치기 온도 및 시간에 따라 증가하다가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

        PURPOSES:Emulsified asphalt is critical for road construction. The objective of applying asphalt emulsion as an adhesive is to prevent the phenomenon of debonding between the upper and lower layers. The quantity and veriety of bituminous material can be varied according to the type of pavement and site conditions. The objective of this study is to reveal the optimum application rates of the emulsified asphalt materials by types of tack-coats using Interface Shear Strength(ISS).METHODS:In the research, emulsified asphalt was paved on the surface of the divided mixture. The specimens of paving asphalt emulsion were utilized to evaluate the bond strength of tack-coat materials. In the evaluation process, NCHRP Report 712 was utilized to investigate the Interface Shear Strength, which reflects the bond capacity of asphalt emulsion. Then, the optimum residual application rates by tack-coat types were determined using regression analysis.RESULTS:As a consequence of squared R values investigated from 0.7 to 1 as part of the regression analysis, the tendency of predicted ISS values was compared with the results. The optimum residual application rates of AP-3, RS(C)-4, QRS-4, and BD-Coat were determined to be 0.78ℓ/m2, 0.51ℓ/m2, 0.53ℓ/m2, and 0.73ℓ/m2, respectively, utilizing 4th regression analysis.CONCLUSIONS:Based on the result of this study, it was not feasible to conclude whether higher residual application of tack-coat material leads to improved bond capacity. Rather, the shearing strength varies depending on the type of pavement.

        This paper deals with solution methods for discrete and multi-valued optimization problems. The objective function of the problem incorporates noise effects generated in case that fitness evaluation is accomplished by computer based experiments such as Monte Carlo simulation or discrete event simulation. Meta heuristics including Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO) can be used to solve these simulation based multi-valued optimization problems. In applying these population based meta heuristics to simulation based optimization problem, samples size to estimate the expected fitness value of a solution and population (particle) size in a generation (step) should be carefully determined to obtain reliable solutions. Under realistic environment with restriction on available computation time, there exists trade-off between these values. In this paper, the effects of sample and population sizes are analyzed under well-known multi-modal and multi-dimensional test functions with randomly generated noise effects. From the experimental results, it is shown that the performance of DPSO is superior to that of GA. While appropriate determination of population sizes is more important than sample size in GA, appropriate determination of sample size is more important than particle size in DPSO. Especially in DPSO, the solution quality under increasing sample sizes with steps is inferior to constant or decreasing sample sizes with steps. Furthermore, the performance of DPSO is improved when OCBA (Optimal Computing Budget Allocation) is incorporated in selecting the best particle in each step. In applying OCBA in DPSO, smaller value of incremental sample size is preferred to obtain better solutions

        The objective of this paper is to suggest structural design for the long-life housing apartment complex to save the construction cost. The key is to use unavailable underground space due to bearing walls or bad configuration of columns in apartments as the parking space. Therefore, the structural plan of apartment buildings considering the parking section in the underground should be designed. After analytical resutls of three cases, it is significant effect in saving construction cost.
