This experiment was carried out to study the effect of rice black-streaked dwarf virus(RBSDV) infection rate on forage productivity of corn varieties in Cheonan of chungcheongnamdo from 2006 to 2008. Forage corn varieties of 10 were cultivated with first cropping(seeding in the last ten days of April) and second cropping(seeding in the last ten days of May) system in field and tested the infection rates of RBSDV and productivity of forage. The Infection rate of RBSDV was significant difference between corn varieties in middle district of Korea. Resistant corn varieties for RBSDV were ‘Kwanganok’, ‘P3156’, ‘Kwangpeyongok’ and ‘P3394’ but susceptible varieties were ‘Suwon19’, ‘DK697’, ‘GW6959’ and NC+7117. Dry matter(DM) yield of forage corn according with infection rates of RBSDV in field was significant difference between varieties(p<0.05). DM yield of susceptible varieties, ‘Suwon 19’, ‘DK697’ and ‘GW6959’ was lower about 20% than that of resistant varieties, ‘Kwangpeyongok’ and ‘P3156’. For increasing the productivity of forage corn, recommend of resistant varieties for RBSDV and control of seeding time are very important in middle district of Korea.
고랭지에서 사일리지용 옥수수의 출현상태와 초기생육은 품종간 차이는 없었으나 년차별 기후변화에 따라 습해 및서리 피해가 발생하였다. 2010년도는 6월 1일 서리가 내렸고, 2011년도는 파종 후 강우가 지속되어 발아 및 초기생육에 영향을 미치게 되었다. 초기생육이 안정적인 품종은국산품종으로 광평옥, 도입종은 P3156 품종이었다. 옥수수의 출사일은 년차 간 평균 5.5일의 차이가 있으며 국산종은 8월 8일부터 8월 12일까지 출사기간이며 도입종은 8월 5일부터 8월 11일까지 출사하여 도입종과 국산종의 출사일은 3~4일 차이가 있었다. 광평옥의 출사일은 8월 8일,P3156 품종은 8월 5일로 비교적 빨리 출사하는 품종이고평안옥과 DK729 품종은 출사기가 늦은 품종이었다. 옥수수 평균 초장은 231 cm 정도이며 국산품종 광평옥은 236cm, 평안옥 237 cm로 초장이 큰 품종이 건물생산량도 많았다. 줄기의 굵기는 전체 평균 23.2 mm, 착수고는 94 cm이었다. 착수고가 낮아 내도복성인 품종은 청안옥 86 cm,33J56 품종 80 cm이었고 강다옥은 101 cm로 착수고가 상대적으로 높았다. 고랭지에서 사일리지용 옥수수 이삭비율은전체평균 39.3%이었으며 국산종보다 도입종이 다소 높았다. 국산품종 중에서 광평옥은 40.1%로 이삭비율이 높았으며 도입종 중에서 P3394 품종이 42.2%로 대등한 이삭비율을 보였다. 사일리지용 옥수수의 생초중은 평균 59.6톤/ha이었으며 국산품종보다 도입품종의 생산성이 다소 높았다.평균 건물수량은 16,653 kg/ha이며 건물수량이 많은 품종순으로 32P75, P3156, 평안옥, P3394, 광평옥이며 건물수량은 각각 18,901 kg/ha, 17,997 kg/ha, 17675 kg/ha, 17194kg/ha, 17188 kg/ha 이었다. 옥수수의 당도는 발효과정에서품질에 미치는 영향이 크며 고랭지에서 평균 당도는 8.1이었다. 국산품종이 8.69로 도입품종 7.42에 비해 평균 1.27높은 것으로 나타났다. TDN 수량에서 32P75 품종은13,381 kg/ha, P3156 품종 12,590 kg/ha, P3394 품종 12,532kg/ha이며 국산품종은 평안옥 12,140 kg/ha, 광평옥 12,036kg/ha로 이들 국산품종은 도입품종과 대등한 TDN 수량을생산할 수 있었다. 고랭지에서 도입품종과 국산품종의 사료가치는 평균 CP 7.8%, 소화율74.2%, NDF 42.4%, ADF23.5%, TDN 70.3%로 대차 없었으며 청안옥의 TDN 함량은 73.3%로 가장 높았다.
본 시험은 사료용 옥수수의 검은줄오갈병에 대한 저항성 품종을 선발하기 위하여 2006년부터 2008년까지 전라북도고창에서 수행하였다. 국내외 사료용 옥수수 10품종을 1모작과 2모작으로 재배하여 품종에 따른 검은줄오갈병의 이병률과 수량성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 사료용 옥수수 품종에 따른 검은줄오갈병의 발병률이 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다 (p<0.05). 검은줄오갈병에 대한 저항성의 정도를 4개의 그룹으로 분류하면, 매우 강한 그룹은 ‘광안옥’과 ‘광평옥’, 강한 그룹은 ‘P3156’과 ‘P3394’, 중간 그룹은 ‘청안옥’과 ‘P32P75’, 약한 그룹은 ‘NC7117’, ‘수원 19호’ ‘DK697’및 ‘GW6959’ 품종이었다. 검은줄오갈병 발생에 따른 사료용 옥수수의 건물수량은 품종 간에 차이가 있었으며(p<0.05), 검은줄오갈병 저항성 품종인 ‘광안옥’, ‘광평옥’,‘P3156’ 및 ‘P3394’ 품종은 이병성 품종보다 건물수량이14~26% 많았다. 따라서 검은줄오갈병 발생이 심한 지역에서 옥수수 재배를 할 때는 반드시 저항성 품종을 선택하는것이 중요하다
This study was conducted to determine the effect of dietary whole-crop barley silage on the daily feed intake, daily weight gain, velvet antler yield and economic efficacy in elk during growth. A total of 21 elk (average BW 303 kg, 5 years old) were allotted randomly to three treatments. The three treatments were T1 (hay diet), T2 (whole-crop barley silage), and T3 (50% hay + 50% whole-crop barley silage). The average daily weight gain of T3 was higher than the others throughout the entire experimental period. The average daily feed intake of elk in decreasing order was as follows; T1>T3>T2. The velvet antler yield was higher in T3 group (8,585 g) compared with T1 (8,037 g) and T2 (7,713 g). However, there were no significant differences in the average daily feed intake, average daily weight gain, or velvet antler yield (p>0.05). In economic efficacy, T3 was gained about 29~43% more value than T1 or T2. In conclusion, the mixed feeding of 50% hay and 50% whole-crop barley silage was more effective than feeding hay of barley alone, in terms of average daily weight gain, velvet antler yield, and economic efficacy in elk.
본 연구는 흑염소 비육에 있어서 조사료원이 볏짚 단용인 경우 농후사료 급여수준이 흑염소의 사료섭취량, 체중변화, 도체특성 및 경제성에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 실시하였다. 비육 흑염소 40두를 공시하여 농후사료 급여수준을 체중의 1.5% (T1), 2.0% (T2, 농가관행), 2.5% (T3) 및 자유채식구(T4)로 나누어 급여 하였고 조사료는 볏짚을 자유채식 시켰으며그 결과는 다음과 같다. 볏짚인 조사료 섭취량은 농후사료 급여수준이 증가 할수록 감소하였으며, 흑염소의 일당증체량은 체중대비 농후사료 급여수준 1.5, 2.0, 2.5% 및 자유채식구가각각 22, 50, 69 및 94 g으로 농후사료 급여수준이 증가할수록 유의적으로 증가하였다(p <0.05). 비육 흑염소의 도체율은 농후사료 급여수준을 체중비 1.5, 2.0, 2.5% 및 자유채식 시켰을 때 각각 41.77, 42.78, 46.12 및 49.78%로농후사료 급여 수준이 증가할수록 증가하였으며(p<0.05), 지방률도 농후사료 급여수준이 증가 할수록 유의적으로 증가하였다. 경제성 분석에서는 농후사료 급여수준이 증가할수록 소득은 증가하였으며, 자유채식구가 두당 34,270원으로 가장 소득이 높았다. 이상의 결과를 종합적으로 고려할 때 조사료 자원이 볏짚 단용일 경우 비육 흑염소의 농후사료 급여 수준은자유채식 시키는 것이 사료이용성, 발육, 도체율 및 경제성에서 가장 유리할 것으로 사료되며, 흑염소의 비육을 위한 조사료 자원으로서볏짚 단용은 농후사료비의 가중을 가져오므로앞으로는 흑염소 비육을 위한 새로운 조사료자원의 개발이 필요하다고 하겠다.
중산간지 휴경답에서 돈분액비를 이용한 다년생 목초 재배 시험을 수행하였다. 장소는 충남 금산이며 처리는 화학비료를 이용한 톨 페스큐 위주 혼파조합(대조구)과 돈분액비를 시용한 톨 페스큐(Fawn) 단파구, 페레니얼 라이그라스(Reveille) 단파구, 톨 페스큐 위주 혼파조합(톨 페스큐 16, 오차드그라스 6, 페레니얼라이그라스 4, 켄터키블루그라스 2, 화이트클로버 2 (kg/ha), 극만생 이탈리안 라이그라스(Ace), 레드클로버(Kenland) 단파구 및 리드 카나리그라스(Venture) 단파구를 두었다. 건물수량 및 목초율은 톨 페스큐 단파구, 톨 페스큐위주 혼파구, 리드 카나리그라스가 우수하여이 초종과 혼파 조합이 중산간지 휴경답에서돈분액비를 이용하여 초지를 조성 이용할 경우유리한 것으로 판명되었다. 또한 이 처리구의ha당 건물생산성은 14.5톤 이상으로 중산간지휴경답이 목초 재배에 매우 유리함을 입증하고있다. 또한 다년생 목초의 도입으로 매년 경운파종이 반복되는 번거로움을 생략할 수 있는유리함도 있다. 또한 사료가치와 기호성이 높은 레드클로버나 페레니얼 라이그라스는 영속성이 낮으나 보파 등 관리방법의 개선을 통해이용이 가능할 수 있을 것이다. 이와 같이 중산간지 휴경답에 적합한 초종이나 혼파조합을이용하면 생력적으로 사료가치와 기호성이 높은 양질목초의 고위 생산성을 달성할 수 있음이 입증되었다.
This study was conducted to determine the effect of dietary whole-crop barley silage on average daily feed intake, average daily weight gain, velvet antler yield and economic efficacy in sika deer during growth. A total of 24 sika deer (initially 56.3 kg BW) of 24 months age were allotted in arrangement in a completely randomized design. The three treatments were: T1(hay diet), T2(whole-crop barley silage), and T3(50% hay+50% whole-crop barley silage). Concentrate feed were 1.5% feeding of body weight with all groups. Average daily weight gain of T3 was higher than those of others for the entire experimental period. Average daily feed intake of sika deer in decreasing order was as follows; T1>T3>T2. The velvet antler yield was highest in T3 group (315±112 g) compared with T1 (276±59 g) and T2 (283±108 g). However, there was no significant difference in average daily feed intake, average daily weight gain, velvet antler yield(p>0.05). In economic efficacy, T3 was about 15-29% higher than that of T1 and T2. In conclusion, the mixed feeding of 50% hay and 50% whole-crop barley silage was more effective in average daily feed intake, average daily weight gain, velvet antler yield and economic efficacy in sika deer
본 시험은 논에서 벼 대체 여름 사료작물인 수수류를 논 재배하여 생육특성과 수량에서 우수한 품종을 선발할 목적으로 2008년부터 2009년까지 2년간에 걸쳐 충남 천안 농가 포장에서 수행하였다. 도입품종인 수수류 10품종 중에서 ‘Sordan79’는 습해에 비교적 강하고 2차 재생이 잘되며 당도가 높고 병해와 충해에 강한 생육 특성을 보였고 수량 측면에서도 생초수량이 ha 당 92,492 kg, 건물수량이 21,090kg으로 가장 우수한 품종이었다. 따라서 본 연구결과를 토대로 볼 때 중부지역에서 벼 대체 사료작물인 수수류를 논에 재배 할때는 배수가 양호한 논의 선정이 필요하고 수수류 품종 중에서는 ‘Sordan79’를 재배하는 것이 적응성이나 생산성 측면에서 가장 유리하다고 할 수 있다.
This experiment was carried out to know adaptability and forage production and quality of corn and corn + soybean intercropping for silage at paddy field in Chungnam province. growth, forage production and quality of silage corn was higher in case of corn and soybean intercropping than that of corn single planting at paddy field. The height of stem of Kwangpyongok and Sword bean intercropping was somewhat lower than Kwangpyongok single planting and higher at ear height and stem diameter. Fresh yield of Kwangpyongok and Sword bean intercropping was the highest as 45.8 tons per ha among corn monoculture, corn + soybean intercropping. The dry yield of Kwangpyongok and Sword bean intercropping at paddy field was the highest as 20.5 tons per ha among corn monoculture and corn + soybean intercropping. The result of this study showed that 'Kwangpyongok and Sword bean intercropping' had good forage productivity and quality of silage compared with corn monoculture, corn and common bean intercropping.
This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of varieties and quality of winter crop on palatability of calves for two years. Four Italian ryegrass variety(Kospeed, Kogreen, Kowinearly and Hwasan 101ho), two barley(Youngyang, Yuyeon), and a rye (Winter green) were cultivated at experimental field of National Institute of Animal Science, Cheonan. Four early varieties(Kospeed, Kogreen, Kowinearly and Winter green)were harvested at 20th Dry matter yield of "Hwasan 101 ho" was l8,629㎏/㏊(12,141 + 6,488) and Yeongyang, Youyeon and Winter green were 14,182, 12,487 and 10,935㎏/ha, respectively. Moisture content of Hwasan 101 ho was 81.5% in harvesting time, but wilting for 24 hours might bedecrease moisture content by 65.5%. The relative intake of Hwasan 101 ho, Kowinearly, Kospeed and Kogreen were 34.5, 60, 19.8, 15.7%, respectively. Among forage crop species, relative intake of Italian ryegrass(Hwasan 101 ho), barley(Yeongyang and Youyeon), and Rye(Winter green) were 43.1, 20.9, 20.5 and 15.5%, respectively.
The main nutritional problem of sorghum×sudangrass (sudangrass) silage is low quality and dry matter (DM) contents. This experiment was conducted to evaluate whether agricultural byproducts addition of sorghum×sudangrass silage increases DM content and forage quality of the silage. Sorghum×sudangrass silage with added byproducts had low pH values, however sorghum×sudangrass silage (control) had a high pH value because of its high moisture content. Silage added with byproduct had lower acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) contents than control silages, while its non-fiber carbohydrate (NFC), and total digestible nutrients (TDN) and lactic acid contents showed the opposite results. Silages added with crushed rice and green grain of rice were higher in lactic acid content than othor treatments as well as high DM, NFC, and TDN contents. Silage added with crushed rice and green grain of rice can be recommended as the most effective treatment for increasing forage quality and DM content of sorghum×sudangrass silage.
Plant height of 'Composite 28' was 89㎝ and heading date was on 4 May with green leaf color and showed high yield among three composite lines. A visual score of winter field survival of 'Composite 28' was 1.0. 1st dry matter yield of 'Composite 28' in Cheonan was 8.64ton per ㏊ compared to introduced variety 'Amba'(7.20ton/㏊). Heading date of 'Composite 28' was 7 days earlier than check variety, 'Amba'.
To get good productivity and high feed value of forage, we develop to new Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) 'Kogreen'.variety. In Suwon, heading date of 'Kogreen' was on May 3 but in Yonchun was on 8 May that was 2 day later than that of 'Florida 80' and dry matter yield is 12.7ton/㏊, and had a good cold tolerance.
In the present study, we have developed a high-frequency plant regeneration system for Italian ryegrass via callus culture using mature seeds as explants. Optimal embryogenic callus induction was found to occur in MS medium containing 5 ㎎ 1?¹ 2,4-D, 0.5 ㎎ 1?¹ BA, 500 ㎎ 1?¹ L-proline, 1 g 1?¹ casein hydrolysate, 30 g 1?¹ sucrose, 7 ㎎ 1?¹ AgNO₃, 2 ㎎ 1?¹ CuSO₄ and solidified with 3 g 1?¹ Gelrite. The highest regeneration rate was obtained in MS medium containing 1 ㎎ 1?¹ 2,4-D, 5 ㎎ 1?¹ BA, 500 ㎎ 1?¹ L-proline, 1 g 1?¹ casein hydrolysate, 1 ㎎ 1?¹ thiamine-HCl, 30 g 1?¹ sucrose, 7 ㎎ 1?¹ AgNO₃, 2 ㎎ 1?¹ CuSO₄ and solidified with 3 g 1?¹ Gelrite. By using the most effective treatment determined for each parameter, the highest rates of embryogenic callus formation (48.9%) and regeneration (47.6%) were obtained with the Hwasan 101 cultivar. The overall plant regeneration rates of the examined cultivars ranged from 7.5% to 23.2%. Thus, optimization of regeneration frequency using mature seeds as explant material may offer a simple and efficient protocol for Italian ryegrass that may improve molecular breeding of this species.
Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) is one of the most important grass species in the world's temperate zones. It is used as high-quality forage in pastures and for recreational use as turf in golf courses, lawns and parks. Genetic improvement of perennial ryegrass is difficult due to its self-incompatibility. Consequently, progress by conventional breeding can be slow. Genetic transformation is an alternative that permits direct introduction of useful genes into a plant's genome and is becoming a powerful tool to complement conventional breeding. To improve environmental stress tolerance and quality of perennial ryegrass by introducing better and useful genes into the genome, we have developed a rapid and efficient transformation system using Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer system.
The experimental work was conducted to investigate the effects of the application level of composted cattle manure (CCM) on forage productivity using Italian ryegrass-WCR double cropping system for 3 years (2006~2008). Main plot was consisted of application level of CCM such as 150%, 200% and control plot. The total day matter yield (DMY) of Italian ryegrass and WCR in treatment of CCM 150% and CCM 200% significantly decreased as compared with that of treatment of chemical fertilizer (CF). However, NDF, AND and CP content of Italian rye grass and WCR were hardly influenced by CCM application.

Managing the fatty acid composition of grazing ruminant diets could lead to meat and milk products t㏊t have higher conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) concentrations, but forage fatty acid dynamics must be more fully understood for a range of forages before grazing systems can be specified. The fatty acid profiles of 23 different forages, including grasses, legumes and wild forage plants were determined. Linolenic(C18:3, 41.1~58.6% of fatty acid), linoleic(C18:2, 10.1~27.4% of fatty acid), and palmitic(C16:0, 9.8~18.0% of fatty acid) acids were the most abundant fatty acids in all species, together representing ~96% of the fatty acids present. Concentrations of fatty acids declined as plants developed, but the fraction contribution of each fatty acid to total fatty acids remained relatively stable over time.
