        A Emergency Diesel Generator(EDG) in Nuclear Power Plant supplies electrical power to reactor cooling system when on/off site power is lost. So that protect the reactor from melting down. A Emergency Diesel Generator is required to reach ±2% of rated frequency(rotational speed) within 10 sec. To achieve prompt start, it is needed to find out affective factors and effect of that during starting period. This paper describes case of fail to achieve starting requirement and improvement of starting performance.

        In this study, the MoS2 nanoparticles grown on crumpled 3D graphene microball (3D GM–MoS2) was synthesized using a microfluidic droplet generator with thermal evaporation-driven capillary compression and hydrothermal reaction. The morphology and size of 3D GM–MoS2 are controlled by the concentration of nano-sized graphene oxide (GO) and the flow rate of oil phase on the droplet generator. The 3D GM–MoS2 with fully sphere-shape and uniform size (~ 5 μm), and homogeneous growth of MoS2 nanoparticles could be synthesized at the flow rate of the oil phase of 60 μL/min with the optimized GO concentration of 1.0 mg/mL, and ( NH4)2MoS4 concentration of 2.0 mg/mL.

        L.P SCR의 촉매 반응을 위해 선박의 발전기용 4행정 디젤엔진의 배기가스 온도를 높게 설계 할 수밖에 없었다. 본 연구의 목적은 밸브개폐시기와 연료분사시기를 조정을 통한 배기가스의 온도 감소가 L.P SCR의 운전조건을 만족시키고 고온으로 인한 발전기 엔진의 사고를 예방하기 위함이었다. 배기가스 온도를 하강시키기 위해 캠샤프트의 각도를 조정하고 연료분사펌프의 Shim을 추가하였다. 그 결과 최대폭발압력은 12.8 bar 증가하였고 터보차저 출구온도 평균값은 13.3 ℃ 하강하였다. 터보차저 출구에서 SCR 입구까지의 열손실을 감안하더라도 L.P SCR 운전조건인 SCR 챔버 입구 온도인 290 ℃를 만족하였다. 배기가스 온도 하강을 통해 디젤발전기의 안전운전이 가능하게 한 연구였다.

        In the past, the U.S. NRC(Nuclear Regulatory Commission) strictly required testing of the EDG for NPP through Reg.Guide 1.108 Rev 1. However, these test requirements acted as a deterioration and wear factor for diesel engines, and are now applying Reg.Guide 1.9 Rev 3, which relaxed regulatory requirements and improved performance monitoring. After applying the new regulatory guidelines in this study, the EDG analyzed the performance of the combustion chamber. As a result, there were no signs of deterioration or decreased performance of the current EDG. This is due to slow start, short operation time, the use of high quality fuel oil and proper maintenance. On the other hand, if the performance is proven, it is judged that proper period extension of cylinder maintenance is possible.

        In this paper, we studied the applicability of data driven model, AAKR(Auto-Associative Kernel Regression) for generator power loss estimation. Correlation analysis performed on 39 turbine system variables for dataset construction and then 13 variables were selected as highly correlated with generator power output. For a memory vector, 95~100% thermal power section data were used and data at normal power condition for 3 month were extracted for query vector. Analysis result shows that 9 variables show good prediction between measured and estimated data, 2 variables show good correlation but with small bias and 2 variables show increasing difference and low correlation with the passage of time, which assumed to be cause of electric output loss.

        The improvement of heat transfer in water cooling passage of lithium-ion battery is numerically studied by employing trapezoidal vortex generators. Battery Design StudioⓇ software is used for modeling electro-chemical heat generation in the battery. The conjugated heat transfer is analyzed with the commercial package STAR-CCM+ in terms of inlet flow velocities. The result shows that vortex generator enhances the convective heat transfer by developing thermal boundary layers and secondary flows in downstream, which results in reducing the average temperature of the battery by about 1℃. The heat transfer is enhanced for the whole inlet velocity, while the pressure loss sharply increases at more than inlet velocity of 0.1m/s. The optimum inlet velocity is around 0.1m/s for in terms of the heat transfer and pressure loss.

        엔진의 출력을 측정하기 위한 방법은 실린더의 연소압력을 측정하여 지시마력을 구하는 방법과 축토크를 측정하여 축마력을 구하는 방법이 있다. 축토크로 실린더의 상태를 확인하기에는 한계가 있으며, 엔진의 성능 측정과 실린더의 연소 해석을 위해서는 실린더 의 연소 상태를 확인할 수 있는 연소압력을 측정하는 방법이 가장 정확하다. 측정에 있어 연소압력은 크랭크샤프트 회전 각도에 따른 실린더 압력이 도시되어야하기 때문에 정확한 실린더 앵글각도를 정확히 인지시키는 작업이 가장 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 실제 운항선의 발전기 엔진을 대상으로 실린더 압력을 측정하기 위하여 크랭크 앵글 센서로 엔코더를 사용하였고 엔코더에서 인지하는 TDC(TDCencoder)와 압축압력에 의한 TDC(TDCcomp) 간의 실측을 통하여 차이가 발생하는 원인에 대하여 고찰하였다. 또한 0 %, 25 %, 50 %와 60 % 부하에서 측 정된 실린더의 TDCcomp와 TDCencoder 간의 차이를 통하여 크랭크샤프트의 제작에 의한 영향, 부하증가에 따른 엔진과 발전기 사이의 커플링 영향에 대한 결과를 고찰하였으며, 발전기의 부하가 증가할수록 최대 3°CA까지 TDC의 오차가 발생함을 확인하였다.

        This paper suggests a nonlinear pressure consideration scheme through an unsteady pipe network analyzer for leakage detection with a portable pressure wave generator. In order to evaluate the performance of a proposal scheme, linear input pattern has been simulated and experiments had been carried out under both no leakage and one leakage conditions in a reservoir-pipeline-valve system. This method using portable pressure wave generator showed that a leakage can be detected from a reflection where a leakage is originated through time domain analysis. Meaningful similarity in pressure response between nonlinear input pattern and experimental results were found both no leakage and a leakage conditions.

        The effect of inclination angle and attack angle on heat transfer enhancement of trapezoidal vortex generator was numerically investigated. The commercial package STAR-CCM+ was utilized to analyze the heat transfer and flow characteristics with various inclination and attack angle of vortex generator. The result shows that the optimum inclination angles are α =30°~40° in terms of the heat transfer and pressure drop. At more than 40° of inclination angle, the transverse vortex is dominant, so that the pressure drop is severe and the heat transfer is reduced. As the attack angle is increased, the transverse vortex is reduced, so that the pressure drop is improved. The optimum attack angle is β =30° because the heat transfer performance is maintained. However, more than 30° of attack angle, the heat transfer is decreasing.
