        The blockage rate for three kinds of nets commonly used in agricultural facilities was assessed by using the image acquisition and its relevant processing. By using both empirical relations presented by Idel’chik and Richards and Robinson, and the blockage rate obtained from the image processing, the pressure drop through the nets was predicted and also compared with wind tunnel experiment results. The results of the study showed that the blockage rate of the net was discriminated according to such factors as the magnitude of nets, the existence of inside threads, the thickness and number of threads. In addition, the blockage rate for the incident angle of 0° when the wind blew at the front had the range of 0.22-0.29 (0.22-0.32 when considering whole incident angles from 0° to 45° by 15°). For the nets with the blockage rate of about 30% or below, the prediction by the empirical relations of by Idel’chik and Richards and Robinson showed a little higher pressure drop overall than that of the wind tunnel test, but the use of the empirical relations and the blockage rate could be thought of as providing effectively meaningful guidelines for the safe design of agricultural facilities including nets because the wind tunnel test has been tedious and expensive. Further research and potential application on the prediction technique of the pressure drop, regarding both a subtle deformation by the wind and manufacturing methods with regard to the level of knots and the existence of inside threads, needs to be done for the nets with higher blockage rate.

        The emergency diesel generator of a nuclear power plant is a emergency AC power source that starts up within 10 seconds when a LOOP(Loss Of Off-site Power) occurs and supplies power to essential safety facilities. In this study, factors affecting start signal input time, engine rotation start time, 30% of engine rated speed, 80% of engine rated speed were studied to secure starting reliability. As a result, it was found that the section before the 30% of engine rated speed was affected by the mechanical management status from the start signal to the fuel oil linkage system. After the 30% of engine rated speed section, it was the maximum fuel supply section, and the time reduction effect through management improvement was insignificant.

        In the past, the U.S. NRC(Nuclear Regulatory Commission) strictly required testing of the EDG for NPP through Reg.Guide 1.108 Rev 1. However, these test requirements acted as a deterioration and wear factor for diesel engines, and are now applying Reg.Guide 1.9 Rev 3, which relaxed regulatory requirements and improved performance monitoring. After applying the new regulatory guidelines in this study, the EDG analyzed the performance of the combustion chamber. As a result, there were no signs of deterioration or decreased performance of the current EDG. This is due to slow start, short operation time, the use of high quality fuel oil and proper maintenance. On the other hand, if the performance is proven, it is judged that proper period extension of cylinder maintenance is possible.

        The change in pressure measurement according to the low pressure tap blockage rate of the Venturi flowmeter used in domestic nuclear power plants was approached numerically. Blockage rates were modeled dividing by 1/10dT to the downstream side of the low pressure tab to identify differential pressure changes. As a result, differential pressure increased in proportion to the blockage rate, and there was no change in differential pressure measurement at 10 to 40 percent with relatively small blockage rate, but the error rate of 50% to 0.3% or higher was shown.

        We report on the light-emitting diode (LED) characteristics of core-shell CdSe/ZnS nanocrystal quantum dots (QDs) embedded in TiO2thin films on a Si substrate. A simple p-n junction could be formed when nanocrystal QDs on a p-type Si substrate were embedded in ~5 nm thick TiO2 thin film, which is inherently an n-type semiconductor. The TiO2 thin film was deposited over QDs at 200˚C using plasma-enhanced metallorganic chemical vapor deposition. The LED structure of TiO2/QDs/Si showed typical p-n diode currentvoltage and electroluminescence characteristics. The colloidal core-shell CdSe/ZnS QDs were synthesized via pyrolysis in the range of 220-280˚C. Pyrolysis conditions were optimized through systematic studies as functions of synthesis temperature, reaction time, and surfactant amount.

        본 연구에서는 시험부 벽면압력을 이용한 폐쇄효과 보정 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 폐쇄형 시험부내의 원형실린더 주위 유동장에 대한 수치적 해석을 수행하여 폐쇄효과 변화에 따른 유동장 및 벽면압력 변화를 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 벽면압력측정 방법은 Maskell 방법과 Hackett과 Cooper 방법으로 보정된 결과 및 자유흐름 상태와 비교하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 그 결과 폐쇄형 시험부 내의 원형실린더의 경우 Maskell 방법과 Hackett과 Cooper 방법은 과보정의 경향을 보였으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 보정 방법은 자유흐름 결과와 일치되는 우수한 보정결과를 보임을 확인하였다.

        Urbanization can be significantly affected the hydrologic cycle by increasing flood discharge and heat flux. In order to mitigate these modifications in urban areas, Low Impact Development (LID) technique has been designed and applied in Korea. In order to estimate runoff reduction rate using SWMM LID model, the characteristics of five LID techniques was firstly analyzed for water balance. Vegetated swale and green roof were not reduce flood discharge nor infiltration amount. On the other hand, porous pavement and infiltration trench were captured by infiltration function. The flood reduction rate with LID is substantially affected by their structures and properties, e.g., the percentage of the area installed with LID components and the percentage of the drainage area of the LID components.
