        The structural performance of a vehicle can be evaluated by the static and dynamic structural analyses which predict the amount of deformation, stiffness. And the static analysis should be done first. Another important aspect to be considered in the design process is crashworthiness, because a structurally sturdy vehicle body may be overdesigned with excessive strength and durability standards. The ideal condition of a body structure is to absorb impact load at a certain level of local deformation, to distribute the load to each structure adequately, and to prevent excessive stress concentration and deformation. This paper is the result of the consideration of automotive body, bending and torsional stiffness for structure stiffness estimation of automotive body through finite element modeling.

        Seongjeonggak Hall in Changdeokgung Palace, although built after the Japanese Invasion in 1592, displays the architectural style and structure of Early Joseon period. It did not include ondol (Korean floor heating system) and contained Early Joseon style window frames. Later, King Jeongjo installed ondol as he repaired the building into a more convenient office. The initial construction of Seongjeonggak Hall was based on the architectural ideology of the Early Joseon Period, which divided up the space according to the season. Thus, the initial structure of the building consisted of a joint of a one-story building and a two-story building with the top floor of the latter specialized for hot and humid season. The two-story building was called ‘chimnu(寢樓)’, and its top floor was called ‘nu-chimsil(樓寢室)’

        Considering the situation in the early 20th century when the existing urban system centered on urban areas began to change, the biggest factors causing urban structural changes in urban areas are construction of railroad and urban dismantling. The change process of Eupseong, in the microscopic viewpoint, can be understood as a process of change in the course of dismantlement of town's demarcation, improvement of accessibility and urban expansion due to the construction of railroads, process of urban expansion following the crumbling boundaries and structural changes. This study aimed to look at the transformation process of the Eupseong in the early 20th century, focusing on the demolition of the castle and the railway construction from a microscopic point of view of city.

        The baculovirus-insect cell expression system has been widely used method for the recombinant protein expression. The present study has several limitation. In this study, we constructed vectors consisting of transcriptional enhanced factor and promoter that improve the expression level. To confirm the usefulness of these vector system, Human papillomavirus (HPV) VLPs have been expressed by baculovirus hyper expression system. HPV VLPs were purified using a CaptoTM Core 700 (GE Healthcare Life Sciences) chromatography approach. Baculovirus hyper expression system production efficiency was influenced by the HPV VLPs production. HPV VLPs vaccination to BALB/c mice induced the generation of antibody confirmed by ELISA. This study could provide improvements on the vaccine production for the development of VLP vaccines high expression of useful heterologous proteins.

        To investigate the temporal-spatial distribution of picophytoplankton in relation to different water masses in the northern East China Sea (ECS), picophytoplankton abundance were investigated using flow cytometry with environmental factors in 2016–2017. The results from the analysis of flow cytometer data showed that Synechococcus appeared across all seasons, exhibiting its minimum abundance in winter and maximum abundance in summer. Furthermore, high abundance was detected in the surface mixed layer during spring and summer when vertical stratification occurs; in particular, Synechococcus exhibited maximum abundance in thermocline layer, indicating a close correlation to water temperature and thermocline formation. In addition, the abundance of Synechococcus indicated a decrease in the western seas in 2017 compared to 2016 under the strong influence of the Changjiang Diluted Water (CDW). This was determined by the significant influence of the CDW on the abundance of Synechococcus during summer in the northern waters of the ECS. In contrast, Prochlorococcus did not appear during winter and spring, and its distribution was limited during summer and autumn in the eastern seas under the influence of the Kuroshio current. The largest range of Prochlorococcus distribution was confirmed during autumn without the influence of the CDW. Thus, the distribution pattern of each picophytoplankton genus was found to be changing in accordance to the extension and reduction of sea current in different seasons and periods of time. This is anticipated to be a useful biological marker in understanding the distribution of sea currents and their influence in the northern waters of the ECS.

        In the precedent study, the retractable-roof spatial structure was selected as the analytical model and a tuned mass damper (TMD) was installed to control the dynamic response for the earthquake loads. Also, it is analyzed that the installation location of TMD in the analytical model and the optimal number of installations. A single TMD mass installed in the analytical model was set up 1% of the mass of the whole structure, and the optimum installation location was derived according to the number of change. As a result, it was verified that most effective to install eight TMDs regardless of opening or closing. Thus, in this study, eight TMDs were installed in the retractable-roof spatial structure and the optimum mass ratio was inquired while reducing a single TMD. In addition, the optimum mass distribution ratio was identified by redistributing the TMD masses differently depending on the installation position, using the mass ratio of vibration control being the most effective for seismic load. From the analysis results, as it is possible to confirm the optimum mass distribution ratio according to the optimum mass ratio and installation location of the TMD in the the retractable-roof spatial structure, it can be used as a reference in the TMD design for large space structure.

        Recently, quantitative analyses of food web structure based on carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes are widely applied to environmental assessments as well as ecological researches of various ecosystems, particularly rivers and streams. In the present study, we analyzed carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of POM (both planktonic and attached forms), zooplankton, benthic macroinvertebrates and fish collected from 6 sites located at Nakdong River. Samples were collected from upstream areas of 5 weirs (Sangju, Gangjeong- Goryeong, Dalseong, Hapcheon-Changnyeong, and Changnyeong-Haman Weirs) and one downstream area of Hapcheon-Changnyeong Weir in dry season (June) and after rainy season (September). We suggested ranges of their carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios and calculated their trophic levels in the food web to compare their temporal and spatial variations. Trophic levels of organisms were relatively higher in Sangju Weir located at upper part of Nakdong River, and decreased thereafter. However, the trophic levels were recovered at the Changnyeong-Haman Weir, the lowest weir in the river. The trophic level calculated by nitrogen stable isotope ratios showed more reliable ranges when they were calculated based on zooplankton than POM used as baseline. The suggested quantitative ecological information of the majority of biological communities in Nakdong River would be helpful to understand the response of river food web to environmental disturbances and can be applied to various further researches regarding the quantitative approaches for the understanding food web structure and function of river ecosystems as well as restoration.

        공력감쇠는 와류에 의한 풍직각방향의 응답을 평가하는데 매우 유용한 인자로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 기존의 공력감쇠 산정 방식은 구조물 응답에 기반한 시스템 식별기술을 적용하는 것으로 와류하중속에 포함되어 있는 공력감쇠의 역할과 특성을 파악하는 데 한계를 가지고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 하중식별기술을 적용하여 와류하중을 직접적으로 구함으로써 와류하중을 구성하는 요소와 유발요인을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 대기 경계층에서 원형 실린더 모델에 대한 공탄성 실험을 수행하여 풍직각방향 와류하중 을 추정하였으며 그로부터 공력감쇠의 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 와류하중은 구조물 모달속도가 공력감쇠에 의해 풍하중으로 전 환되는 모달속도하중과 변동풍속에 의해 형성되는 순수 와류하중으로 구성되는 것으로 나타났다. 공력감쇠는 최상층 평균풍속에 의한 와류방출진동수가 구조물의 고유진동수에 근접하면서 부감쇠를 가지며 그 결과 총 감쇠가 작아져 응답증폭현상을 유발하는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구결과에 기초하면, 난류상태에서 와류하중 특성이 반영된 와류하중모델 구축이 가능할 것으로 사료되며, 구조물 풍직 각방향 진동을 보다 효과적으로 파악하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        residue as the raw material. As one of the preconceived raw material to produce high-quality coal-based carbon material, the changes of structure of CLP during liquid-phase carbonization process have been detailed investigated in this study. Actually, FTIR and curve-fitted method were used to quantitative analyze the aromaticity index (Iar), the ratio of CH3/ CH2, and basic functional groups (C=C, C=O, and C–O) of CLP and its liquid-phase carbonization products. Polarizing microscope, XRD and curve-fitted methods were used to characterize the microstructures of CLP and derived products. The results show that, branched chain and C=O group are the active reaction point in liquid-phase carbonization process. What’s more, 450 °C is a critical temperature point on the severe thermal polycondensation of CLP. The XRD and curve-fitted analysis of CLP and its liquid-phase carbonization products shows that, the stacking height (Lc), parallel layers (N), and the numbers of aromatic ring in each layer (n) are gradually larger with the improve of liquid-phase carbonization temperature.

        본 연구는 백두대간(닭목령-댓재 구간) 마루금 주변을 대상으로 식물사회학적 식생유형분류, 층위별 중요치와 평균 상대우점치, 종다양도, CCA 분석을 통해 산림식생구조를 파악하기 위하여 2017년 5월부터 9월까지 총 245개소의 산림식생조사를 실시하였다. 식생유형분류 결과, 8개의 식생단위로 구분되었으며 최상위 수준에서 신갈나무군락군, 신갈나무군락군은 층층나무군락, 회양목군락, 조릿대군락, 분비나무군락, 신갈나무전형군락으로 세분되었고, 층층나 무군락은 다시 떡갈나무군, 터리풀군, 일본잎갈나무군, 층층나무전형군으로 세분되었다. 중요치 분석결과, 식생단위 1에서 떡갈나무가 19.1, 식생단위 2는 신갈나무가 22.7, 식생단위 3은 일본잎갈나무가 27.6, 식생단위 4∼8은 신갈나무가 각각 38.3, 25.6, 41.3, 27.9, 41.6으로 가장 높게 나타나 백두대간(닭목령-댓재 구간) 마루금 주변이 신갈나무군락 으로 대표되는 것으로 사료되었다. 종다양도는 식생단위 1과 2가 3.305, 3.236으로 다른 식생단위에 비하여 상대적으로 높게 나타났으며, 높은 출현종수에 의한 영향 때문인 것으로 사료되었다. CCA분석 결과, 생물적 환경요인과 식생 유형과의 상관관계는 식생단위 1과 교목성 식물 비율, 덩굴성 식물 비율이 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 비생물적 환경요인과 식생유형과의 상관관계는 식생단위 7이 해발과 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 적으로, 식생단위 5의 회양목군락은 석회암 지대의 종조성과 입지환경으로 유형화되어 지질학적 특성상 다양한 식물이 자생하고 있는 지역이며, 식생단위 7의 분비나무군락은 아고산식생으로 유형화되어 지질시대에 살았던 유존종과 고유종 또는 특산종이 많이 분포하는 지역으로 나타나 이들 단위에 대한 차별화된 생태적 관리방안이 필요할 것으로 사료되었다.

        As a part of the research on existing structures of private homes from Joseon Era. Focusing on one hundred twenty five-purlin houses, the current study investigated the features and characteristics of the house structure from style, size, proportion and roof pitch, and measurements of key parts, and developed the following conclusions. Most are single-houses (89, 83%), and among them, there are 47 single front-terrace houses (39%), which is the highest number. The sizes of lower house structure do not differ greatly depending on the vertical structure, and single rear terrace house and double-house have relatively larger side sizes. The size of upper structure is larger in double-houses compared to other vertical structures, indicating a relatively higher roof. The cross-section measurement of major parts show that double-houses are larger than single-houses by 3cm in pillar, 3-4.5cm in crossbeam length, and 4.5cm in crossbeam width. However, Janghyeo width was consistent at 7.5 to 10.5cm, maintaining uniformity regardless of vertical structure of the houses. In addition, the cross-section measurements decreased from sixteenth to nineteenth century, with the size of pillar size decreasing the most. The result that the Janghyeo width is not related to the house structure house confirmed that the Janghyeo width was kept consistent regardless of the size of the house structure.

        Existing reinforced concrete frame buildings designed for only gravity loads have been seismically vulnerable due to their inadequate column detailing. The seismic vulnerabilities can be mitigated by the application of a column retrofit technique, which combines high-strength near surface mounted bars with a fiber reinforced polymer wrapping system. This study presents the full-scale shaker testing of a non-ductile frame structure retrofitted using the combined retrofit system. The full-scale dynamic testing was performed to measure realistic dynamic responses and to investigate the effectiveness of the retrofit system through the comparison of the measured responses between as-built and retrofitted test frames. Experimental results demonstrated that the retrofit system reduced the dynamic responses without any significant damage on the columns because it improved flexural, shear and lap-splice resisting capacities. In addition, the retrofit system contributed to changing a damage mechanism from a soft-story mechanism (column-sidesway mechanism) to a mixed-damage mechanism, which was commonly found in reinforced concrete buildings with strong-column weak-beam system.

        This study suggests a new perspective for designing men’s tailored jackets by more carefully considering human muscle structure. For this study, we examined research regarding the construction of the tailored jacket that is based on costume history references, as well as research regarding human muscle structure that is based on human anatomy references and the analysis of recent fashion designs illustrating the human body image. Based on this research, we developed various tailored constructions that account for human muscle structure. These constructions are applied primarily to the backs of four tailored jackets, as the back of the jacket needs a mechanism to accommodate the wearer’s movement. The following conclusions have been derived from the study: First, by developing the tailored garment structure that accounts for the muscle structure of the human body, we suggest a new design direction for tailored garments. Second, we propose a new type of tailored jacket structure for the back of the jacket that incorporates an artificial muscle structure to accommodate the wearer’s activities. This new type of jacket indicates the potential for designs that use structure, particularly the structure of the human body. Finally, by using the embroidery technique, we changed the texture of the material into the shape of human muscle. Thus, we propose a design that uses three-dimensional volume to accounts for the shape of human body tissue.

        목적: 각막실질 내 다발 구조로 이루어진 콜라겐섬유의 크기와 규칙적인 배열은 투명성과 매우 밀접한 상관성을 가지고 있다. 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 배열구조 및 콜라겐섬유층 두께에 따른 광투과율의 변화를 확인하고자 하였다. 방법: 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어인 OptiFDTD로 각막실질 내 콜라겐섬유를 정육각형, 육각형, 사각형 및 자유형으로 각각 배열하였고 이에 따른 광투과율을 분석하였다. 사각형 배열에 대하여 시뮬레이션 공간상에 있는 콜라겐섬유의 개수가 동일할 때 밀도변화에 따른 광투과율을 확인하고 콜라겐섬유의 개수와 밀도가 변화할 때 광투과율을 조사하였다. 결과: 콜라겐섬유의 개수가 동일할 때 사각형, 정육각형, 자유형 및 육각형의 배열구조 순서로 밀도가 작아지고, 섬유층의 두께가 두꺼워진다. 배열구조를 변화시켜 광투과율을 측정한 결과 동일한 위치의 검출기에서 측정된 광투과율은 배열구조에 관계없이 거의 유사하였다. 검출기 D0, D1, D2 및 D3에서 각각 사각형, 육각형과 사각형, 정육각형 및 정육각형 배열구조에서 최대투과율로 나타났으며, 육각형, 자유형, 육각형과 사각형 및 사각형 배열구조에서 최소 투과율로 나타났다. 하지만, 최대 투과율과 최소 투과율의 차이는 1% 이내로 거의 유사하였다. 콜라겐섬유의 개수가 동일할 때 사각형 배열구조에서 밀도변화에 따른 광투과율은 섬유층 두께가 증가할수록 광투과율은 감소하였다. 또한, 두께가 증가하면서 콜라겐섬유의 개수가 감소하였을 때 광투과율이 더 많이 감소하였다. 결론: 콜라겐 배열구조가 변화하여도 광투과율은 배열구조와 관계없이 거의 유사하게 나타났다. 하지만, 배열구조의 변화에 따라 콜라겐섬유층의 두께가 변화하였고, 두께가 증가할수록 광투과율이 감소하였다. 즉, 광투과율은 배열구조보다는 콜라겐섬유층의 두께와 더 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있음을 확인하였다.
