        In this study, an advanced form-finding method of tensegrity unit modules is presented to apply on renovation building. Here a fitness function of maximum natural frequency which can lead to a maximum stiffness status was used for a genetic algorithm. To apply the lightweight pin-jointed structure to the renovation project is more economical over to build new structures. In this paper, two types of tensegrity unit are presented to build expanded structures, and their force densities are shown using the proposed form-finding method. The expanded structures which may influence renovation projects are presented by using the tensegrity units.

        PURPOSES : One of the main components of road projects funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) is the improvement or rehabilitation of existing pavements. The result is that pavement structures are critical to the success of a project. There is, however, no design standard available at present that reflects a region's specific features including climate conditions and quality of pavement materials. For this reason, a comparative study of the major EDCF borrowers' flexible pavement design standards was conducted. This study led to the proposal of a new method for applying flexible pavement designs which can be used for EDCF-funded projects in Asia. METHODS : The method has been produced by adjusting some input data of the "AASHTO Interim Guide for Design of Pavement Structures" in accordance with certain Asian countries' geometrical features, tropical and subtropical weather, and strength of pavement materials. The Philippine regional factors, having five different grades, have been selected after taking into consideration the amount of rainfall, strength of pavement materials, and characteristics of the Asia and Pacific regions. Structural layer coefficients have been prepared for two different regions according to the geometric difference between Southeast and Southwest Asia. The Philippine and Sri Lankan coefficients have been used for Southeast Asia and Southwest Asia, respectively. CONCLUSIONS : Owing to applying this new method, it was verified that the thickness of the pavement was underestimated by between 11 cm and 16 cm compared with the originally designed thickness. Having discovered that the use of the Korean and Americanoriented factors and coefficients is not appropriate for other Asian countries, the new method is expected to enhance the quality of pavement in future projects.

        In this paper, a structural design method of a smart tuned mass damper (TMD) for a retractable-roof spatial structure under earthquake excitation was proposed. For this purpose, a retractable-roof spatial structure was simplified to a single degree of freedom (SDOF) model. Dynamic characteristics of a retractable-roof spatial structure is changed based on opened or closed roof condition. This condition was considered in the numerical simulation. A magnetorheological (MR) damper was used to compose a smart TMD and a displacement based ground-hook control algorithm was used to control the smart TMD. The control effectiveness of a smart TMD under harmonic and earthquake excitation were evaluated in comparison with a conventional passive TMD. The vibration control robustness of a smart TMD and a passive TMD were compared along with the variation of natural period of a simplified structure. Dynamic responses of a smart TMD and passive TMD under resonant harmonic excitation and earthquake load were compared by varying mass ratio of TMD to total mass of the simplified structure. The design procedure proposed in this study is expected to be used for preliminary design of a smart TMD for a retractable-roof spatial structure.

        The predictive control system using model-based predictive control is a very effective way to optimize the present inputs considering the states and future errors of the reference trajectory, but it has a drawback in that a control input matrix must be repeatedly calculated with a long calculation time at every sampling for minimizing future errors in a predictive interval. In this study, we applied the neural network simulating the predictive control method for the trajectory tracking control of the mobile robot to reduce complex control method and computation time which are the disadvantage of predictive control. In addition, the neural network showed excellent performance by the generalization even for a different reference trajectory. Therefore, The controller is designed by modeling the model-based predictive control gains for the reference trajectory using a neural networks. Through the computer simulation, the proposed control method showed better performance than the general predictive control method.

        This study presents a sustainable design method to optimize the embodied energy and CO2 emission complying with the design code for reinforced concrete column. The sustainable design method effectively achieves the minimization of the environmental load and energy consumption whereas the conventional design method has been mostly focused on the cost saving. Failure of reinforced concrete column exhibits compressive or tensile failure mode against an external force such as flexure and compression; thus, optimization analyses are conducted for both failure modes. For the given sections and reinforcement ratios, the optimized sections are determined by optimizing cost, embodied energy, and CO2 emission and various aspects of the sections are thoroughly investigated. The optimization analysis results show that 25% embodied energy and 55% CO2 emission can be approximately reduced by 10% increase in cost. In particular, the embodied energy and CO2 emission were more effectively reduced in the tensile failure mode rather than in the compressive failure mode. Consequently, it was proved that the sustainable design method effectively implements the concept of sustainable development in the design of reinforced concrete structure by optimizing embodied energy consumption and CO2 emission.

        CE RCD (Recreational Craft Directive) is a certification for the design and construction of small vessels, including pleasure yachts, which are widely used not only in the countries within the European Union, but also in Japan and Southeast Asia. Recently, South Korean leisure craft shipyards have developed interest in exporting to foreign leisure craft markets such as Europe; however, they have encountered difficulties because of the CE RCD regulations, which are relatively complex and difficult to understand. The requirements for buoyancy and stability, which are essential properties that must be understood within the early stage of ship design, are defined based on ISO 12217. However, preparing this assessment according to ship classification regulations is an exceedingly complex task, even with knowledge of naval architecture. In this research, we have developed design support tools to systematically support assessments and preemptively define design information so that buoyancy and stability assessments based on ISO 12217 can be systematically prepared. Our research results were applied to actual examples of yacht design to confirm validity. We believe that the improved yacht design process presented in this research can act as a foundational reference for enhancing the effectiveness and systematic buoyancy and stability assessments.

        본 연구에서는 페이즈필드 설계법에 기반한 형상최적설계를 통해 개선된 패치안테나 금속 패치 부분의 형상 설계를 진행 하였다. 설계 목적은 패치 안테나의 목적 주파수에서의 방사 효율을 최대화 하는 것으로 설정하였고, 이에 따라 목적 함수는 반사손실을 나타내는 S-파라미터 값의 최소화로 정의하였다. 패치형상의 최적화 결과는 페이즈필드 설계법을 이용하여 도 출하였고, 최적화 결과의 회색영역을 제거하기 위해서 컷오프 방법을 적용하였다. 더불어 쿼터 정합기의 길이 변화를 통해 성능 개선 과정을 진행하였다. 이를 통해 도출해낸 최종 형상에 대한 해석 결과, 목표 주파수에서의 S-파라미터 값이 -1.14dB에서 -12.73dB로 개선됨을 확인하였다.

        This paper presents the resizing method of columns and beams that considers column-to-beam strength ratios to simultaneously control the initial stiffness and ductility of steel moment frames. The proposed method minimizes the top-floor displacement of a structure while satisfying the constraint conditions with respect to the total structural weight and column-to-beam strength ratios. The design variable considered in this method is the sectional area of structural members, and the sequential quadratic programming(SQP) technique is used to obtain optimal results from the problem formulation. The unit load method is applied to determine the displacement participation factor of each member for the top floor lateral displacement; based on this, the sectional area of each member undergoes a resizing process to minimize the top-floor lateral displacement. Resizing members by using the displacement participation factor of each member leads to increasing the initial stiffness of the structure. Additionally, the proposed method enables the ductility control of a structure by adjusting the column-to-beam strength ratio. The applicability of the proposed optimal drift design method is validated by applying it to the steel moment frame example. As a result, it is confirmed that the initial stiffness and ductility could be controlled by the proposed method without the repetitive structural analysis and the increment of structural weights.

        Recently, the fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) materials have been recognized as advanced materials for bridge construction. The FRP bridge deck system has advantages to construct rapidly, its durability. The FRP bridge decks have accepted as a method of deteriorated reinforced concrete bridge deck replacement. For application, design method details and connections for FRP bridge decks will be provided. In this paper, the design method, deck design and connections details on FRP decked precast, prestressed concrete girder bridges is presented. In this study, the design method of efficient connection between FRP deck and concrete girder is proposed with composite action. The schematic of proposed modular FRP panel deck-to-concrete girder connection is also presented, which is the flexible hybrid shear connection included steel reinforcements and FRP tubes. The FRP deck-to-concrete girder hybrid connection system should be improved with further refinement and experimental program. Finally, it is hoped that this paper will be guideline for research and development on this subject field for researchers and engineers

        본 연구에서는 capacitive deionization(CDI) 공정에 사용되는 셀을 디자인하여 염 제거 성능비교 연구를 수행하였다. 디자인한 셀의 데드존을 알아보기 위하여 computational fluid dynamics(CFD)로 분석하였다. CFD분석은 15, 25, 35ml/min 의 유속에서 진행하였으며, 같은 유속에서의 CDI 결과와 비교하였다. hexagon flow channel 1(HFC1), hexagon flow channel 2(HFC2)의 경우 15ml/min의 유 속에서 88-124%효율을, 25ml/min 에서는 49-50%의 염 제거 효율을 나타내었다. 35ml/min의 유속에서는 HFC1과 HFC2를 foursquare flow channel (FFC)와 비교해보았을 때 차이가 없었다.

        The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of a sexual image and verify the method of its design expression through case studies of the sexual image evening dress shown in an Haute Couture Collection over the last 10 years (2005~2014). The results of analysis are as follows: First, “expression by the seeing through of the natural body” expressed a natural sexual image that combined fashion of the previous times with the beauty of the natural body by using a see-through material and classic or ethnic image. Second, “expression of a sexual-image look that emphasizes romantic detail” illustrated a romantic sexual image that emphasizes feminine sensitivity by mixing various ornamental elements such as see-through material and symbolism of underwear image. Third, “creation of a nude look using skin color” expressed sexual image of an evening dress by inducing erotic sexual association through a combination of opaque material of skin color and design shape that is intended for body exposure. Fourth, “combination of sexual symbol and heterogeneous elements” expressed a decadent, avant-garde and futuristic sexual images by using women’s underwear and a sexual symbol as design motif and mixed with mismatching elements. Fifth, “use of a fantastic black image” expressed an exclusive and refined sexual image and a decadent and primitive sexual image by using a fantastic image of black color. The results of this study are expected to be used for the design process of the eveningdress industry that aims for quality improvement.

        본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 건물에 대한 유전자 알고리즘 기반의 최적구조설계기법을 제시하고자 한다. 목적함수는 구조 물의 비용과 이산화탄소 배출량을 동시에 각각 최소화하는 것이다. 비용 및 인산화탄소 배출량은 구조설계안에서 얻을 수 있는 단면치수, 부재길이, 재료강도, 철근량 등과 같은 설계정보를 통해 계산한다. 즉, 구조물의 물량을 기초로 하여 비용과 이산화탄소 배출량을 평가한다. 재료의 운반, 시공 및 건물 운영 단계에서 발생하는 비용 및 이산화탄소 배출량은 본 연구에 서 제외한다. 제약조건은 철근콘크리트 건물을 구성하는 기둥과 보 부재의 강도조건과 층간변위조건이 고려된다. 제약조건 을 평가하기 위해 OpenSees를 활용한 선형정적해석이 수행된다. 제약조건을 만족시키면서 목적함수에 대해 최소의 값을 제 시하는 설계안을 찾기 위해 유전자 알고리즘이 사용된다. 제시한 알고리즘의 적용성을 검증하기 위해 4층 철근콘크리트 모 멘트 골조 예제에 제시하는 기법을 적용하여 검증한다.

        본 연구에서는 철골모멘트골조의 보-힌지 붕괴모드를 유도하는 최적 내진설계기법을 제안한다. 이는 유전자알고리즘을 사용하며, 기둥의 소성힌지 발생을 억제하는 제약조건을 설정하여 보-힌지 붕괴모드를 유도한다. 제안하는 기법은 구조물량를 최소화하고 에너지소산능력을 최대화하는 목적함수를 사용한다. 제안하는 기법은 9층 철골모멘트골조 예제 적용을 통해 검증한다. 예제 적용을 통해 철골모멘트골조의 보-힌지 붕괴모드를 유도하기 위해 요구되는 기둥-보 강도비를 평가한다. 패널존에 대한 3가지 모델링 기법을 각각 적용하여 모델링 조건에 따른 휨강도비 영향이 추가적으로 검토된다.

        The objective of this study was to investigate the optimal design on the tubular shaft and solid shaft for A-IMS of commercial vehicle. The tubular shaft and the solid shaft were designed by 6 stage processes and the results were analyzed by using a finite element analysis method. The coefficient of friction was set to Oil_Cold conditions as referred to the analysis library. It was found that the actual underfill phenomenon was not observed on the tubular shaft and solid shaft. The metal flow of the tubular shaft and solid shaft revealed that the folding phenomenon was not occurred, so there is no problem in actual production. Principal stress and load characteristics of tubular shaft were higher than those of solid shaft since the tubular shaft has many deformation from stage 1 to stage 3.

        This paper presents the approach of design parameters optimization based on Taguchi method for the uniformity of outlet pressure in a plasma discharge chamber. The key issue of a plasma discharge chamber is to have the uniformity of outlet pressure which can make a high performance of surface treatment. To extend the length of a outlet from 60mm to 250mm with the uniformity, This study optimally designed the middle holes, outlet width and height, and diameter of the second chamber by using SolidWorks and flow simulation tool. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.

        공감각의 최초 표현은 인류 언어 발달과 그 역사를 함께 하 고 있으며, 현대에 이르기까지 시․문학 작품과 언어 사용에서 인간 감성의 표현 수단으로 다양한 공감각 표현이 활용되어왔 다. 또한, 인간의 감성표현의 장르인 예술 분야에 있어서도 모 든 감각을 총동원하여 대상을 느끼고 그 느낌을 시각예술로 표 현하려고 했던 작품들, 시각 예술과 청각예술이 상호 교류 하 면서 얻어진 영감으로 표현된 작품들, 현대 멀티미디어 시대의 영상음악으로 맥을 이어갈 수 있는 총체예술의 개념과 시각음 악․색채음악이라는 새로운 장르의 출현 등 인간의 공감각 현 상을 바탕으로 한 예술 활동을 찾아볼 수 있다. 한편, 과학적 측면에서는 공감각 현상에 대한 인간의 생리적․심리적 작용에 대한 메카니즘을 밝히고자 하는 연구를 공감각자(共感覺者, Synesthetes)를 대상으로 진행하고 있다. 이렇듯 공감각 연구는 심리학, 생리학, 미학, 문학, 과학 등 다양한 학문분야와 관련된 흥미로운 연구대상이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다학제적 관점에서 정의하고 있는 공감각 의 개념과 공감각 연구의 경향을 파악해 보고자 하며, 국내 공 감각 디자인 연구를 중심으로 연구 방법과 내용을 분석해 보고 자 한다. 본 연구에서는 감성디자인 연구의 분야로서 공감각 연구의 의미를 밝히고, 다양한 공감각 감성 디자인 연구의 활 용방향의 가능성을 제시한다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 가진다.
