        In this study, a relatively effective process is used to sterilize Escherichia coli on the surface of micro-sized calcium citrate powder using nitrogen and argon as process gases in a low-temperature vacuum plasma treatment. The purpose of this study is to confirm and to introduce the effectiveness of homogeneous surface treatment for the sterilization of fine inorganic powder by the rotatable low-temperature RF plasma system designed by ourselves. The results of the test using 3M petrifilm showed that there were no remarkable spots in the case of the surface of plasma treated powder, whereas the untreated powder showed many blue spots, which indicating that the E. coli was alive. After 5 days, in the same samples, the blue spots were seen to be larger and darker than before, while the plasma-treated powder showed no changes. The results from FE-SEM analysis showed that the E. coli was damaged and/or destroyed by reactive species generated in the plasma space, resulting in the E. coli being sterilized. Furthermore, the sterilization effects according to the selected parameters (N2 and Ar; flow rate 30 and 50 sccm) adapted in this study were mutually similar, regardless of such different process parameters, and this indicates that homogeneous treatment of powder surfaces could be more effective than conventional methods. Therefore, the plasma apparatus used in this study may be a practical method to use in a powerful sterilization process in powder-type food.

        The objective of this study was to investigate taste profiles and the correlation of Doenjang soup solution prepared with three different temperatures (5, 25, 45℃) and using an electronic nose (e-nose), electronic tongue (e-tongue), and descriptive analyses by trained panelists. A total of 17sensory attributes were generated from the descriptive analyses for the Doenjang soup solution. There were significant difference among the samples in the cooked soybean flavor, the cooked soybean odor, the soy sauce odor, the sweet odor, the sweet taste, and the sweet aftertaste attributes. The intensities of these sensory attributes tended to increase as the serving temperature of the Doenjang soup solution increased. There were seven volatile compounds detected by the electronic nose: ethanol, propanal, 2-methylpropanal, ethyl acetate, 3-methylbutanal, and beta-pinene. The intensities of the volatile compounds increased as the temperature of the Doenjang soup solution increased. On the other hand, the intensities of the basic tastes by the e-tongue decreased as the temperature of the Doenjang soup solution increased. In conclusion, the e-nose, e-tongue, and descriptive analysis results showed different correlations depending on the temperature of the Doenjang soup solutions.

        본 연구에서는 완도 해역에서 단기적인 수온의 변화에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하기 위하여 시계열 분석을 실시하였다. Power spectrum 결과에서 기온은 약 24 hr에서 peak를 보였으나 수온과 조위는 약 12 hr 및 24 hr에서 peak가 나타났다. 수온과 조위의 상관 성을 파악하기 위해 coherence 분석을 실시한 결과, 두 변수는 반일주기에서 0.92로 높은 상관성을 보였다. 또한 수온의 시·공간적인 분포를 파악하기 위하여 수치실험을 실시하였다. 대조기에는 최강 낙조와 최강 창조 시의 평균 수온차가 0.3 인 반면, 소조기에는 평균 수온차가 0.13 로 작았다. 대조기의 수온차가 큰 이유는 비교적 수온이 낮은 외해수가 강한 조류에 의해 창조 시 유입되고 낙조 시 빠져나가기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 전반적으로 수온은 외해보다 연안에서 높게 나타났다. 외해보다 연안은 수심이 얕기 때문에 일사량에 의해 수온이 빠르게 증가하기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

        본 연구의 목적은 위성의 밝기온도를 기반으로 한 정량적 강우량 추정기법의 개선을 위함이다. 우리나라 여름철 강우사례를 이용하여 강우추정을 위한 비선형 관계식을 개선하였다. 분석을 위해 레이더 자료로 기상청 기상레이더 관측망의 고도 1.5 km와 CMAX 반사도 합성자료를 사용하였으며, 위성자료는 천리안 위성의 가시, 적외, 수증기 채널의 자료를 이용하였다. 새롭게 도출된 알고리즘은 A-E method, CRR v4.0 analytic function의 결과와 비교를 하였다. 검증을 위해 우리나라 ASOS에서 관측한 지상강우량 자료를 사용하였다. 공간검증을 위해 검증지수로 POD, FAR, CSI를 계산하였으며 각각 0.67, 0.76, 0.21로 나타났다. 정량적 강우검증을 위해 MAE와 RMSE를 계산하였으며 각각 2.49, 6.18 mm/h였다. A-E에 비하여 정량적인 오차가 줄어들었으며 CRR에 비하여 공간적인 정확도가 증가하였다. 개선한 관계식을 적용한 방법이 두 알고리즘의 부족한 부분을 보완할 수 있는 것으로 판단된다. 개선한 관계식을 통해 강우를 추정하는 방법은 복잡한 알고리즘을 거치지 않고 짧은 시간에 강우추정이 가능함으로써 현업용 실시간 초단기 예보에 활용될 수 있다.

        PURPOSES: This study develops various models that can estimate the pattern of road surface temperature changes using machine learning methods. METHODS : Both a thermal mapping system and weather forecast information were employed in order to collect data for developing the models. In previous studies, the authors defined road surface temperature data as a response, while vehicular ambient temperature, air temperature, and humidity were considered as predictors. In this research, two additional factors-road type and weather forecasts-were considered for the estimation of the road surface temperature change pattern. Finally, a total of six models for estimating the pattern of road surface temperature changes were developed using the MATLAB program, which provides the classification learner as a machine learning tool. RESULTS: Model 5 was considered the most superior owing to its high accuracy. It was seen that the accuracy of the model could increase when weather forecasts (e.g., Sky Status) were applied. A comparison between Models 4 and 5 showed that the influence of humidity on road surface temperature changes is negligible. CONCLUSIONS: Even though Models 4, 5, and 6 demonstrated the same performance in terms of average absolute error (AAE), Model 5 can be considered the optimal one from the point of view of accuracy.

        이 연구는 떡갈나무(Quercus dentata Thunb. ex Murray) 유식물을 대상으로 대기 중의 CO2농도와 기온이 상승하였을 때 광(L), 수분(M), 유기물(N) 그리고 토성(S)의 변화에 따라 생육이 어떻게 변하는지 알아본 것이다. 떡갈나무는 낙엽활엽교목으로 전국 표고 800m이하의 산기슭, 산중턱 뿐 아니라 해변가의 야산이나 섬에도 잘 생육하며, 건조한 석회암 지역에서 우점종으로 분포하고 있다. CO2농도와 기온을 상승시킨 온난화처리구와 대기 중의 상태를 그대로 둔 대조구에서 광, 수분, 유기물 그리고 토성을 각각 4구배 (1, 2, 3, 4)로 처리하였다. 각 구배 당 24개체씩 파종하여 2017년 3월부터 10월까지 8개월간 생육시킨 후 잎 수, 지하 부/지상부 길이 및 무게, 잎자루/잎몸/잎폭 길이 및 무게 그리고 비엽면적 등 20가지 형질을 측정하였다. 측정한 20가지 형질은 온난화, 광, 수분, 유기물 그리고 토성 환경에 의한 생육반응에서 통계적인 차이가 있었다. 특히 지하부의 반응은 수분이나 토성 보다 광 조건에서 차이가 컸고, 이에 따라 식물체 무게와 지하부/지상부 비에도 영향을 주었다. 또한 잎면적은 모든 구배에서 대조구보다 처리구에서 높아 지는 경향을 보였으며 특히 유기물을 처리하였을 때 대조 구와 처리구 간의 통계적인 차이가 있었다. 이는 유식물이 지구온난화가 진행됨에 따라 광합성을 증가시키기 위한 적응으로 해석된다. 이 연구는 2017년 중견연구지원사업 (NRF-2016R1A2B1010709)에 의하여 지원되었다.

        좁은가슴잎벌레의 각 태별 발육기간은 25℃에서 알기간 6.8일, 유충기간 1령 2.4일, 2령 2.2일, 3령 5.4일, 번데기기간 4.1일로 알부터 번데기까지의 기간은 20.6일이 소요되었다. 유충 및 번데기 발육기간 중 생존율은 25℃에서 1령 유충은 87.5%이고 2령, 3령유충과 번데기는 83.3%가 생존하였다. 성충의 산란과 수명은 25℃에서 산란전기간 10.6일(6 ∼10일), 산란기간 130.6일(13∼269일), 산란수 566.4개(13∼1,237개), 성충수명 189.0일(25∼365일)이었다. 또 성충의 최대 산란기간이 10, 15, 20℃에서 각각 650, 682, 402일로 매우 길었으며 산란기간 동안 일정한 시기에 산란수가 없거나 급격히 낮아지는 기간이 나타나는 생리적 현상에 대하여 보다 정밀한 추가 구명이 필요하다.

        메뚜기목 메뚜기과에 속하는 풀무치(Locusta migratoria)는 강한 집단행동 습성과 다양한 먹이식물에 대한 높은 유연성을 가진 대형 메뚜기이다. 이런 풀무치를 실내에서 사육하기에 가장 적합한 온도를 조사하였다. 실험온도는 25℃, 27℃, 30℃, 33℃ 등 4개구로 설정하였고, 12L/12D, 65% RH, 1,000 lux 이상의 사육조건하에서 밀을 먹이로 실험하였다. 풀무치의 영별 발육특성을 조사한 결과, 1령-5령 약충까지의 발육기간은 30℃가 26.4±2.0일로 25℃ (46.9±1.9일)보다 약 1.8배, 27℃(31.8±2.5일)와 33℃(30.7±2.6일)보다는 약 1.2배 단축되었다. 약충의 체중, 두폭, 체폭, 체장 등 발육 특성은 30℃가 가장 좋았고 그 다음은 33℃, 27℃, 25℃순이었다. 성충의 교미는 주로 09-10시와 13-14시에 가장 많이 이루어졌다. 우화-교미까지의 일수는 30℃가 10.2±1.5일로 25℃(23.8±13.7일), 27℃(19.3±10.2일), 33℃(12.0±7.3일)보다 약 1.8일-13.6일 빨랐다. 포토 당 산란된 난괴의 수는 평균 1.1개로 나타났다. 이상의 결과들로 볼 때 풀무치를 사육하기에 가장 적합한 온도는 30℃인 것으로 판단된다.

        Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata, is one of the most important quarantine pest worldwide. Fruit flies cause serious damage on orchard, and also can cause quarantine problem to fruit exportation. Recently, because of global warming, there is threats of fruit fly invasion to Korea, especially to Jeju island. So there should be a anticipative research about fruit fly control. Many physical quarantine treatment methods, like heat treatment and low-temperature treatment, are developed to control quarantine pests. Recent researches indicate that low-temperature treatment shows good efficacy on several quarantine pests without phytotoxicity. In this trial, we’ve applied the low-temperature treatment on citrus at laboratory and pilot scale containers to validate efficacy and phytotoxicity. Egg and larvae stage of C. capitata was completely controlled after 5 days and 8 days low-temperature treatment at 0℃ respectively, and there was no phytotoxicity on citrus. These results indicate that the low-temperature treatment can be applied to control fruit fly on citrus fruit.

        Riptortus pedestris is one of economically important insect pests in soybean fields. The study was conducted at six constant temperatures of 15.8, 19.7, 24.0, 27.8, 32.6 and 35.5℃. We investigated the biological traits of R. pedestris adults. R. pedestris adults survived at all temperatures tested but female did not oviposit under 15.8℃. The longevity of R. pedestris male was longer than that of female. Oviposition model was constructed using nonlinear functions and the number of eggs produced by a cohort of females was estimated in relation to constant temperature and adult age. The life table parameters in relation to temperature were analyzed.

        The oriental fruit fly is a major polyphagous insect pest with a worldwide distribution. The effects of temperature on stage-specific development were investigated at eight constant temperatures (13.0, 14.4, 16.2, 19.5, 23.8, 27.7, 31.8 and 34.8℃). Stage-specific lower developmental thresholds and thermal constants were determined using linear regression. The lower and higher temperature threshold (TL and TH) were estimated using the Sharpe-Schoolfield-Ikemoto (SSI) model. The daily adult emergence frequency of B. dorsalis was estimated in relation to adult age and temperature. Thermal performance was compared among B. dorsalis populations from different locations in Taiwan.

        Development and fecundity of the foxglove aphid, Aulacorthum solani (Hemiptera: Aphididae) were investigated at ten constant temperatures (photoperiod: 15L:9D) from 2.5 to 30℃ on soybean (Glycine max) leaves. The nymphs couldn’t emerge to adults at 2.5 and 30℃. The lower development temperature threshold and thermal constant of development completion estimated with a linear development model in nymph were 5.02℃ and 131.2 degree-days. The lethal temperatures were estimated as 33.9 and 32.5℃ with Lactin 2 and Logan 6 non-linear models, respectively. Mean generation time (from 78.4 to 11.8 d) decreased with increasing temperatures (from 7.5 to 27.5℃). The highest net reproductive rate (77.4) was observed at 20℃. The highest intrinsic rates of population increase (0.282) and shortest population doubling times (2.07 d) were recorded at 25℃.

        The citrus leaf miner (CLM) is an important citrus pest. A thorough understanding of the biology and population dynamics of CLM are essential for development of reliable pest population prediction system. We investigated the developmental periods of the species under ten constant temperature schemes (12.5℃~39℃). Furthermore, we established a development model of CLM, based on the result of a laboratory experiment. The immature developmental duration of CLM at constant temperatures were 63.5 days at 15℃, 23.9 days at 21℃, 15.6 days at 27℃, and 12.3 days at 33℃, showing statistically significant difference among temperature regimes. The lower threshold temperature and thermal constant were 11.3℃ and 243.7 DD, respectively, for immature development. In relation to temperature, non-linear development models were established for each developmental stage of CLM.

        Diets influence lifespan and reproduction in insects, but little is known how temperature modulates the impacts of diet on these two key fitness components. Here we examined the interactive effects of temperature and nutrient balance on lifespan and egg production rate in Drosophila melanogaster. Newly emerged adult D. melanogaster were allowed to feed ad libitum on one of eight chemically defined diets differing in P:C ratio (1:16, 1:8, 1:4, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, or 8:1) under one of six ambient temperatures (13, 18, 23, 28, 31, or 33℃). For both males and females, lifespan was longest for D. melanogaster fed on P:C 1:16 diet at 13℃ and shortened as both temperature and P:C ratio increased. As indicated by a significant temperature-by-diet interaction for lifespan, the diet effects on lifespan were more pronounced at lower temperatures than at higher temperatures. Egg production rate was maximized on P:C 4:1 diet at 28℃.

        Temperature can modulate how insects respond to environmental stressors, such as starvation. In this study, we examine whether and how the effects of temperature on starvation resistance depend on nutritional condition and developmental stages in Drosophila melanogaster. Starvation resistance decreased as the temperature exposed during starvation rose from 18 to 28 ̊C, which was mainly caused by warming-induced increase in energy expenditure. When exposed to warm temperatures during feeding, D. melanogaster accumulated more energy reserves and thus become more starvation resistant. The temperature experienced during the larval stage also had a significant effect on starvation resistance at adult stages, with those larvae raised at cold temperatures developing into adult phenotypes with reduced resistance to starvation. This study suggests that the effects of temperature on starvation resistance are highly complex and context dependent in D. melanogaster.

        Heterodera trifolii, mostly known as clover cyst nematode, is currently a serious problem for Chinese cabbage growers of the highland area in Korea. Due to lack of readily information about the nematode on Chinese cabbage in Korea, the pest steadily spread within the highland areas and has become a serious setback. Occurrence, spatial aggregation, egg hatching and the pathogenicity of this nematode are depicted in this study from ecological point of view. The study results suggest site-specific control and a potential planting time for the cabbage to avoid severe damage caused by this nematode.

        본 연구는 고온 열분해를 통한 Cs, Sr 등 고방사성핵종의 고정화를 위하여 각각 Cs이 흡착된 CHA (K형 Chabazite zeolite)-Cs, CHA-PCFC (potassium cobalt ferrocyanide)-Cs 및 Sr이 흡착된 4A-Sr, BaA-Sr 등의 제올라이트 계에서 TGA 및 XRD에 의한 배소 온도 변화에 따른 상변환을 고찰하였다. CHA-Cs 제올라이트 계의 경우 900℃ 까지는 CHA-Cs의 형태를 유지하고 있으며, 1,000℃에서 무정형 단계를 거친 후 1,100℃에서 pollucite (CsAlSi2O6)로 재결정 되었다. 반면에 CHA-CFC-Cs 제올라이 트 계는 700℃ 까지는 CHA-PCFC-Cs 형태를 유지하고 있으나, 900∼1,000℃ 사이에서 구조가 파괴되어 무정형으로 상변환 된 후 1,100℃에서 pollucite로 재결정 되었다. 한편 4A-Sr 제올라이트 계의 경우 700℃ 까지는 4A-Sr의 구조를 유지하고 있 으며, 800℃에서 무정형으로 상변환 된 다음 900℃에서는 Sr-feldspar (SrAl2Si2O8, hexagonal)으로, 1,100℃에서 SrAl2Si2O8 (triclinic)로 재결정 되었다. 그러나 BaA-Sr 제올라이트 계의 경우는 500℃ 이하부터 구조가 파괴되기 시작하여 500∼900℃ 에서 무정형 단계를 거친 후, 1,100℃에서 Ba/Sr-feldspar (Ba0.9Sr0.1Al2Si2O8 및 Ba0.5Sr0.5Al2Si2O8 공존)로 재결정 되었다. 상기 제올라이트 계 모두 온도 증가에 따라 탈수/(분해)→ 무정형→ 재결정의 단계를 거쳐 광물상으로 재결정 되었으며, 고온 열 분해 과정에서의 Cs 및 Sr의 휘발성, 침출성 등의 추가 연구가 요구되지만 각 제올라이트 계에 흡착된 Cs 및 Sr은 pollucite나 Sr-feldspar, Ba/Sr-feldspar 등으로 광물화 하여 Cs과 Sr을 배소체/(고화체) 내에 완전히 고정화 시킬 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

        The objectives of this study are to investigate the effect of plant type on the roof of a model building on the temperature of the interior space, and to provide the suitable plant species for a green roof. On the roof of scaled model building, grass (GR: Zoysia japonica), sedum (SE: Sedum makinoi Aurea), maekmundong (MM: Liriope platyphylla), and jasanhong (JH: Rhododendron schippenbachii) was planted. From June 28 to August 28, i.e., for 63 days, the internal and external temperature of the model building and the light intensity were measured and compared with the control model building (CON: no plant and substrate on the roof). With increased global radiation, the maximum temperature was increased from 28.2℃ to 51.74℃ for CON, from 27.2℃ to 47.7℃ for GR, from 27.7℃ to 49.3℃ for SE, from 27.9℃ to 48.3℃ for MM, from 27.5℃ to 48.9℃ for RD, whereas the outside temperature increased between 25.5℃ and 34.6℃. A positive linear relationship was observed between global radiation and the internal temperature (r=0.987-0.989) and hence, the temperature difference between the internal and external model building (ΔT) was larger with increased radiation. A positive linear relationship was shown between light intensity and ΔT at difference radiation levels. The regression coefficient was estimated as 0.99-1.00℃/[100W/m2] under 500 J/cm2, 1.10-1.15℃/[100W/m2] at averaged radiation 1,800J/cm2, whereas the large decrease in the coefficient, i.e., 0.76-0.86℃ /[100W/m2] was observed for above 1,800J/cm2 radiation level. The ΔT per unit of light intensity observed a significantly different between treatments. With the planted grass on the roof of the model building, the lowest ΔT per unit solar radiation was observed, which means that the covered roof with grass causes the building internal temperature to be less affected by the sun radiation.
