본 연구는 다른 분야에서 성공적으로 활용되고 있는 다양한 추천 기법들을 비교하는 사례 연구를 통해 더욱 효과적인 디자인 개인화 서비스 개발의 기회를 모색하고자 하였다. 우선, 문헌연구를 통하여 '컨텐츠 기반 기법', '협력적 필터링 기법', 그리고 '인구통계적 필터링 기법'과 같은 대표적인 추천 기법들의 특징과 장단점을 고찰하였다. 다음으로 이러한 기법들이 디자인과 같은 컨텐츠를 대상으로 적용되었을 때 예상되는 추천 정확성을 분석하기 위해 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 인구통계적 필터링 기법은 나머지 기법에 비해서 비교적 낮은 정확성을 보였으며 컨텐츠 기반 기법이 가장 좋은 높은 추천 정확성을 나타내었다. 아울러 협력적 필터링 기법은 참여자들의 수가 증가할수록 좀 더 높은 추천 정확성을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 디자인 추천 서비스는 컨텐츠 기반 기법이나 협력적 필터링 기법의 적용을 통해 그 추천 정확성을 향상시킬 수 있으며 대상 사용자의 수가 일정 수준 이상으로 증가된다면 협력적 필터링 기법이 가장 우수한 효율을 나타낼 가능성이 높음을 제시하였다.

The present study aims to design a web-based syllabus for teaching college English. The theoretical premises underlying the study are drawn from recent developments in relevant fields including web-based instruction, classroom observation and supervision, in-service teacher development, and program evaluation. The model is characterized by its learner-centeredness, teacher observation and supervision for professional development, and process-oriented program evaluation. Data for the program evaluation are gathered from various sources such as questionnaire responses, observation records, supervisory notes, teacher diary entries, and assessment. The information from the evaluation is then fed back to improve the course in a cyclical process. Through a small-scale application of the model some suggestions for its effective implementation are made in terms of institutional support, copyright, student autonomy, teacher roles, and e-learning course evaluation.

We collected eleven large astronomical catalogues, which include 2MASS, USNO B1.0, GSC 2 catalogues and so on. Most of these catalogues are the frequently used by astronomers for all sorts of applications. But the researches are faced with the problem of accessing these databases because these catalogues contain from tens millions up to thousands of millions of records. So we developed a web application system to manage these large catalogues, the main purpose of the web application is to allow a powerful and efficient querying activity on these catalogues through internet by using a simple web interface. In the injection mold industry, the harmonious collaboration of the order-making companies, the mold-making companies, and the molded-parts making companies, which are distantly located, is very important. In this study, a web-based collaboration system is developed for the purpose. It offers the criterion to select appropriate production companies. It also tries to minimize the production cost of the mold design by distributing and evaluating the design information. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of using and authoring web-based vocabulary learning tasks on Korean EFL learners' vocabulary acquisition. The subjects of the study were seventy-seven EFL college students in Korea. They were divided into three groups: a traditional control group, and two experimental groups using and authoring the web-based vocabulary tasks, respectively. The major results of the study were as follows: first, the two experimental groups performed significantly better on the vocabulary recognition and use posttest than the control group did. This result indicates that both the use of the web-based tasks and the participation of students in authoring the web-based tasks are more effective in vocabulary acquisition than the use of traditional vocabulary learning methods. Second, both the experimental groups performed significantly better on the delayed posttest than the control group did. This result provides evidence that using and authoring web-based vocabulary tasks are effective in helping students retain newly acquired words in the long-term memory. Third, the learners' responses of the two experimental groups prove to be positive with respect to the use of the web-based task authoring tools in vocabulary learning. Based on these results, some pedagogical suggestions should be made on the effective use of the web-based task authoring tools in Korean English classroom settings.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between MI and web-based learning in elementary school English education. For this purpose, this paper first examined MI and instructional models of web-based learning, which was based on constructivism. In order to verify the effects of this experiment, we proposed a web-based English learning and teaching model and applied it to the 5th grade students in an elementary school. After the experiment, we analyzed the effects that MI affects students' English achievement. The results of the study were as followings. First, students' intrapersonal intelligence, linguistic intelligence, musical intelligence, and spatial intelligence had a positive effect to their English achievement. Second, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence, and interpersonal intelligence did not have a positive effect on their English achievement. This study indicates that all kinds of multiple intelligences should be thoroughly considered when we design and practice web-based English learning and teaching models.

The use of the Internet and Web-based instruction (WBI), that is, individual instruction delivered wholly or in part via the Internet or an organization's intranet, is growing at an amazing pace in China. This article describes the status of using the Internet and WBI for learning in China, and examines the many cultural and pedagogical implications and challenges presented by WBI in China. The People's Republic of China is the third largest and the most populous country in the world. Because of a weak economic foundation and the difficulty of feeding an immensely large population, China is still a developing country. However, recently, China has been experiencing a rapid growth in the use of the Internet and its Web technologies, and many researchers are looking into the implications and impact of this phenomenon. The purpose of this article is to discuss the cultural and pedagogical implications related to the use of WBI in China. To this end, it synthesizes pertinent literature published both in the Western world and in China to reveal the status of using WBI in China and address the many challenges and issues presented by WBI there.
