        오늘날, 의학발달과 생활수준 향상으로 평균 수명이 연장되었으나 노인성 질환은 증가되었다. 노인성 질환이 라고 알려져 있는 대표적인 질환은 치매라고 볼 수 있으나 현대에는 노인뿐 아니라 젊은 층도 치매에서 완전히 벗어날 수 없는 실정이다. 치매는 노화에 따른 뇌 단백질의 변화 및 전두엽의 위축으로 새로운 문제 해결 능력, 문제 처리속도, 기억력 등이 점차 감소됨에 따라오는 질병으로 현존하는 치매 치료제로는 증상완화가 불분명하며 이를 대체할 수 있는 연구가 시급하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 두뇌 활성화를 통한 인지능력 향상을 기반으로 뇌기능 향상에 도움이 되고자하며 두뇌 훈련 기능성게임을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다. 구현된 기능성 게임은 뇌파측정을 통하여 두뇌 활성화 훈련의 효과성을 검증하고 평가하는 것에 본 논문의 목적이 있다.

        In 1970, Masahiro Mori proposed the uncanny valley concept. At the time, the proposal aroused little reaction, However, the uncanny valley is just a hypothesis, not a strict theory. Many subsequent studies have shown that it is true that the uncanny valley is reasonable; With the development of game consoles and personal computers, uncanny valley in video games will become more and more common. but, for the time being, special introductions and game related research on the uncanny valley are still very rare. In this paper, with Masahiro Mori’s uncanny valley as a benchmark and using the evolution of Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft over 20 years as an example, we analyze the significance of the uncanny valley in the design of realistic adventure game characters from such aspects as facial expression and texture. It's not easy to see the development of the technology in the game by using this approach. And it makes game makers determinate the scope of uncanny valley more exactly to made better games.

        For game design planning education, we researched step by step learning method from storyline setting to game content evaluation. In this process, we developed 'Content Generated Tree' educational model applying the segmentation, classification, and prediction process of decision tree theory. This model is divided into the trunk stage as a story setting, the node generation stage as a content branch, and the conformity assessment. In the node generation stage, there are 'Game Theme' stage for determining the overall direction of the game, 'Interest Element' stage for finding the unique joy of the development game, and 'Game Format' stage for setting the visualization direction. The learner creates several game content combinations through content branching, and evaluates each content combination value. The education model was applied to 19 teams, and the efficiency of the step by step learning process was confirmed.

        The most of casual games are two-dimensional based graphic interface and the most of matching-tile game is still gains popularity on many video game devices and variety of smart phones. These game uses two-dimensional Euclidean coordinates and uses rectangle- or triangle-, hexagon-shaped tiles. But recently novel design of casual games are introduced and gains attention of casual gamers. Our research introduces new approach for tile-based game design. It uses hyperbolic model of Poincare model and Weierstrass model for displaying and generating tiles. Our method is general for any configuration of (p, q)-tiling and can be used for new tile based game design. And introduces new tile generation methods for (3,q)-tiling and (p,3)-tiling without redundant tiles. We also proposed interactive movement method of tiles for game navigation purposes.

        This paper is to show how electronic game components can galvanize into the outdated regions. The purpose of this study is to research on game mechanics and PX(player experience) for the interactive urban regeneration design with gamification. Urban regeneration involves the old public, private and community sectors to improve the quality of urban life and to reach a sustainable development of urban economic. The gamification is the idea of using game-thinking and game mechanics to solve problem and engage players, so theoretical background of gamification is based on game design studies such as game components and MDA framework which consists of mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics. Most of researchers regard game mechanics as game components and converse, but game mechanics is representative of these two terms. So this paper treats game mechanics as the first effective factor for successful urban renewal. Such games which have huge fans bring the powerful and manipulated user experience, a well-gamified applications can provide players (stand for users, audiences, customers, clients, buyers, learners, patients, soldiers, etc) with the supreme user experience, aka PX(player experience) causing playful behavior and a positive mindset. The main goal of gamification of urban regeneration is to encourage greater engagement in renewed town people(player) and aiding in creating richer experiences in everyday life events through game mechanics and PX. Also this paper shows tens of gamification ideas for interactive urban revitalization.

        This study designs an interactive serious game for children with ADHD to sustain attention concentration and improve their reading comprehension skill. This serious game enables to read fairy tale interactively. The fairy tale consists of 6 sequences and the game assigns tasks for concentration training to 2, 4, 5, and 6 sequences. Executing concentration task, MindWave BCI is used to measure brain waves and to judge success of failure of the task with that measurement. Game play data and concentration data were stored in a sever real time. As the experiment progressed, the concentration levels of the participants are sustained stable. The results of paired t-test on pre- and post- reading ability, short reading comprehension, and story understanding are significant. It is expected that this study will help game design for children with ADHD as well as reading disability.

        This study shows the content production of mobile baseball games. In 2013, mobile games accounted for 23.9% of domestic games, and the global mobile game market is expected to grow to $30.3 billion by 2015. This study examines trends and characteristics of the mobile game industry. Also, this study intends to show mobile game rankings, reproduce the enthusiasm of professional baseball games through mobile games, participate in games to utilize leisure, and contribute to the mobile game industry. Currently, there is Magu magu of Netrnarble as a mobile baseball game. By differentiating with mobile Magu magu, this study attempts to produce various and interesting short plays of AI, UI, and FSM from webtoon contents to engage in the realism of mobile baseball games, and to improve the productivity of the mobile game industry. Therefore, we intend to promote the game industry and activate game production contents.

        Environmental serious game was made for the purpose of environment education. Many environmental serious games exist on the game market. And each game has different topic. But every environmental serious game didn't educate alongside a game play. To educate in the serious game, offer indirect experience to user by UX. Before to design the game, I have analyzed the genre, UI, UX and game play of each environmental serious game such as Climate Challenge, National Grid Floe, Eco-Ego, Tree Planet. Also, I made game flow chart for check the balance game contents and education contents. Finally, I found a genre, UI, UX, game play appropriate to environmental serious game. This thesis designed the game through game flow chart and analysis of existing game. And add Live Map UX to game for indirect experience effect enhancement.

        This paper analyzes the simulation operation flow of Bullet physics engine. Based on this analysis, four kinds of multi-rigid-body game characters are designed. This paper also profiles the performance metrics such as the CPU utilization, the memory usage, and the computation time by multi-rigid-body character simulations. For the CPU utilization, the Tongs Vehicle is the best and provides 45.1% less than the other character simulations. The computation times of the Four-leg robot and the Dragon are longer than those of the others. The memory usage of the Dragon simulation is the largest, which is average 1.32 times more than the others. Because all parts of Dragon are composed of triangular mesh models in 3DMax. The performance profiling with the criteria such as reducing the computation time and the computing resources, the complexities of the collision shapes, and the number of rigid bodies takes an important role in the design of the multi-rigid-body game characters.

        Unity 3D is a 2D and 3D game engine that supports multiple platforms. Editors may develop 2D and 3D games that run on Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and various web platforms. In this paper, we propose a shooting game designed and developed using the Unity 3D game engine. Shooter is a game genre to defeat the enemy by shooting a gun or missiles. Through factors such as a game system it is very simple, one momentary reflection ability or behavior is characterized by the pursuit of sex games. Also it analyzed for the game and the game system architecture for game development. I hope to help them through a variety of platforms based game design and development.

        ACE (ADAPTIVE Communication Environment) is a flexible and portable, allowing high-performance applications in a network game developers will increase further, the error is an open source network that can help easier and faster, while reducing development. Haebomyeon analyze the framework of ACE OS abstraction layer, Wrapper facade layer, the framework layer, is composed of a network layer. Each layer of the lower layer to re-use the class to abstract more general than their function. This means that any given task with the ACE generally be implemented in various ways according to the development or design requirements. Paper, we try to apply a network game developers ACE through an open source network analysis.

        This study has investigated on the obstacles to the production of social network games. It also tried to find their production tools in order to remove existing obstacles, which will guide to design and create new production tools. The new production tool is designed to make it easy for Terrain, UI, and Object tools to be used for essential functions, game linkage, and testing. The detailed explanation about the structure design and functions of the new production tool is also written and added for better understanding. To test its functions, texture of the animation application was printed on top of the production tool. The test result showed stable processing speed. I also made a 􋺵Farming􋺶 trial-game to test how easily social network games can be developed. As a result, more stable framework, which could not be made without production tools, was able to be designed and even the time spent on developing it became shortened.

        Catechesis is a education that tells the Christians what they should believe. Many Christians know the need, but learning is tedious and teaching is difficult. Serious game in the field of education have both the intention of learning and an element of fun. In this study, I designed a educational serious game for Catechesis and implemented the game. The Heidelberg and Westminster Catechism were content. The key game play was to choose the correct answer by the touch. The effect was confirmed by the test users. The content of later study was planned. I hope this study can be well utilized to Church Educational System.

        Open source "Boost Lib" in this paper is to propose a distributed processing architecture of the game server, and the server models the whole vertical extension of the load generated by a specific process, the load on the game server for both the horizontal scale model of a typical distributed system, Dispersing the processing game process, and corresponds to the load.Multi-server architecture is distributed into the game world to the local level. Since the distributed server to process by integrating the entire process of the game server divided area, when only a specific process, the throughput increases a load to cause the load itself is transferred, the entire game server the local server is slow. If the load is generated in the specific process in the multi-server architecture must scale the game server or the game server cluster. However, while the load of a particular server extensions are uneconomic to process less meaningless.         Recently, mobile Social Netwrok Game(SNGs) including characters have emerged in the game market. Basically, it is based on not only the mobile environment and technology but also the form and concept of SNG. Most characters of mobile SNG take characters which have the role of avatar or non-player character. This kind of characters allows own their characteristic to create and design them based on the mobile and SNG system. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to analyze character design with the elements of mobile graphic such as visual, sound, motion and so on. Then we would discuss the features of character design for mobile SNG and comment the limits and consideration for effective design. For this research, the first of all we would discuss the concept and theory of mobile SNG and the design elements for the game characters by the publications, including thesis, articles, and books. Seondly, this paper will be focused on character examples in 20 mobile SNGs which are selected in top selling and analyze them. Finally, we would discuss the characteristics of mobile SNG character and the methods of possibilities and considerations for effective design.

        The popularity of online games highlights the need for research approaches that can increase our scientific understanding of online game play experience. This paper proposes a model for examining and evaluating the ways by which factors of game motivate players and shape psychological processes. Previously, Nick Yee has done one of the most extensive and influential empirical research on motivations for play in online games. His research provides the foundation to understand what motivates people to play games and how we can improve our designs based on those findings. His factor analysis revealed ten motivational sub-components that grouped into three overarching components of achievement, social, and immersion. However, there are a handful of empirical results that were unique and did not clearly fit into Yee's motivational components, such as "making a difference", "the search for self", "the search for youth", and "the nurturance motivation", as Yee acknowledged in his paper. Therefore we developed a motivational theory of "reality integration" to encompass the cases that could not be explained by Yee's theory. While his theory was implicity focused on "escapism" (escape from reality), we found that dual and integrated perspectives of "reality integration" and "escapism" of online games are very important in understanding players' behavior and improving game design. The future goal of this research is to develop a motivational design framework for educational games or serious games.

        Schizophrenia is one of the most chronic and severe mental disorders. It has hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, a lack of emotion and a lack of motivation. Schizophrenia also causes significant social and work problems. In order to prevent worsening and recurrences of schizophrenia, and to induce continuous improvement of disease, symptom management and medication training are critical factors. A serious game which makes strong interest and immersion senses is a very useful learning tool for schizophrenia patients who show attention deficit, impassiveness, lack of spontaneity and lower motivation. This study uses card match games to improve the patient’s memory and concentration, and encourage procedural learning by associating the difficulty level of the game with the symptom rating scale of disorder. Also it promotes patients to express their feelings through game characters to alleviate their suffering from emotional dullness. It also helps patients to develop teamwork and build interactive skills by demanding cooperative missions for beating the game. Therefore this study is expected to contribute in improving the efficiency of schizophrenic patient education. We suggest to develop serious game design for schizophrenia patients' education.

        The international casino game industry has adopted G2S (game to systems) protocol for the future communication standards between slot machines and gaming hosts. G2S protocol uses the internet protocols and XML message format. Not simply G2S protocol replaces the SAS protocol currently in use but with many limitations, but provides diverse application and business chances to the casino industry. In this paper, we introduce the overview of technical features of G2S system, and describe our design and implementation experience of core G2S protocol engine for slot machine devices. The G2S engine provides key protocol stack of G2S (HTTP, XML, and SOAP) and runtime services, using open source softwares and custom classes. The protocol compatibility of the implemented G2S engine is confirmed against an openG2S host software contributed by IGT. Also the measured memory size and perfroamcne is compact enough for typical slot machine hardware specification.

        ADHD(Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common disorder of childhood, which exhibits symptoms of hyperactivity, impulse, having difficulty in concentrating, and being easily distracted. These symptoms lead many difficulties in childhood if left untreated, and last in adolescence and adulthood in some cases. This paper analyzes serious game technology based on BCI for ADHD treatment. BCI technology is implemented by acquiring EEG via device and sending commands into input-output device by signal processing. In order to apply serious games based on BCI, it requires building a database with relevant resources of analysis and study of ADHD infants and children behavioral patterns first. Based on it, it is suggested to design and develop serious games that are well balanced in fun elements and functional elements on the consideration of levels of difficulties.
