        The study conducted finite element analysis in advance to understand the natural frequency, con-ducted static structural analysis and analyzed stress behavior occurring on the boundary of wheel and rail when passing the straight line and curve line. According to the FEA, the wheel had natural frequency of 1st mode 238.4Hz to 10th mode 1,320Hz, and the rail had natural frequency of 457.4Hz to 619.7Hz. When looking at the correlated frequency range, the natural frequency of 4th~6th mode of wheel and 3rd~9th mode of rail track were correlated. As for the result of stress behavior translation occurring on the boundary of wheel and track, it was 53.4MPa when passing the curve line, which was 16MPa higher than when passing the straight line.

        The urban railway system is a convenient public transportation system, as it carries many people without increasing traffic congestion. However, air quality in urban railway environments is worse than ambient air quality due to the internal location of the source of air pollutants and the isolated space. In this paper, characteristics of particulate matter (PM) pollution in urban railway environments are described from the perspective of diurnal variation, chemical composition and source apportionment of PM. PM concentrations in concourse, platform, passenger cabin, and tunnel are summarized through an analysis of 34 journal articles published in Korea and overseas. This information will be helpful in developing effective policies to reduce PM pollution in urban railway environments.

        In this paper, interior noise that is brought into inside of coach when it passes by straight line track, railway turnout section, curved track, and rail lubricator section with test coach was measured in accordance of track characteristic of urban railway vehicle. It was evaluated with 60km/h of constant speed in the motorized trailer, no.3 car T1 motorized trailer of urban railway vehicle. Interior noise characteristic value is higher in order of curve, rail lubricator, railway turnout, and straight track as a result of the test. The highest characteristic value is 86.7dB in the curved track. And, the lowest characteristics value is 75.5dB(A) in the straight track. For accurate result comparison, it is transformed into sound pressure distribution by time domain, sound pressure level by time domain, sound pressure level for frequency domain and completed analysis.

        Universal Design involves designing products and spaces so that they can be used by the widest range of people possible. Universal Design evolved from Accessible Design, a design process that addresses the needs of people with disabilities. This paper introduces the universal design concept through analysis of causes of railway accident within the urban railway station. Railway accident analysis was performed by the internal facilities. We analyzed the standard of accident type, accident cause and accident subject such as elevator, escalator, stairs etc.

        Modern railway construction by Japanese had a great influence on the urbanization, transformation of urban structure and landscape during the Japanese imperialism and compressive increasing period in Iri(Iksan). This paper aims to find out the effect of railway on the modern urban structure and urban landscape in Iri(Iksan). Railways in Iri, Honam railway, Kunsan railway, Jeonla railway have been constructed progressively during 1911 and 1915 with Iri and old Iri(east-Iri) station. From the analysis of land registration maps and street plans, old photographies and historical records, some significant features underling railway construction can be followed in view of modern urbanization process in Iri. Firstly railways cut off the possibility of developing urban structure based on traditional spatial structure of Iksan. Secondly railways made dual spatial structure in Iri. Japanese and Korean life zone were divided into separate district around urbanization area and market place. Thirdly traditional space cognition system based on four cardinal directions were changed to front and rear space of railway station. Fourthly railways and stations caused neo-baroque spatial order and imperialistic urban landscape of Iri with axis, vista and gridiron plan. Fifthly break points and fringe belts garbling modern urbanization process are created. Sixthly modern cultural and consumptive urban spaces were taken their seats in relation with daily urban life.

        Recently, there are many problems of service qualities such as regular-rapid-safe -comfortable transport, that was traditionally advantages in urban railway transportations. These problems cause train delays that affects consecutive schedule, capacity, operation plans, and it is hard to prevent the propagation of delay and find the recovery solution. Because the urban transport demands is continuously increased and the railway service is also expanded, the railway operation company makes efforts to improve operation performance and efficiency for passengers. In this paper, we analyse the issues and problems existing in the major operation line of high-density urban railways, and suggest the development direction of intelligent operation technology to improve the urban railway service by minimizing the occurrence and propagation of delay. And the result of numerical case study is also presented.

        In this study, for the rapid transit of urban and metropolitan railways, the installation of passing loop tunnel in the underground section of urban railroads in operation is reviewed. Unlike road tunnels, it is difficult to secure working spaces because the railwau tunnel is very narrow, impossible to bypass, and related facilities such as overhead wire exist. In addition, urban railways have limitations that must be carried out without blocking the existing trains or construction within four hours when the trains are not running. Therefore, in this study, the construction plan of passing loop tunnel during railway operation for the rapid transit was reviewed.

        유지관리를 고려하여 도시철도 자갈도상을 콘크리트 도상으로 교체함에 따라 증가되는 소음진동을 저감하는 방안으로 흡음판을 기존 운행 중인 터널 내부에 부착하는 방안이 다양하게 시도되고 잇다. 기존의 설계에 반영되어 있지 않은 새로운 유지관리, 안전, 화재 등 여러가지 간섭현상이 주요 문제점으로 부각되었다. 국내외 설계기준과 시도된 방안들의 문제점과 시공 및 유지관리를 고려한 요구조건을 비교 검토하여 현실성있는 설치방안을 제한하고자 한다.

        곡선 승강장에 직선형태의 전동차량을 운행해야 하는 물리적 구조의 한계로 인하여 승강장 연단과 전동차 사이에 발이 빠져 발생하는 승강장 연단 실족 사상 사고는 어린이와 휠체어를 이용하는 장애인을 비롯한 교통약자의 도시철도 이용에 큰 위험 요소로 작용하고 있다.최근 도시철도 승강장과 전동차 사이의 간격을 방지하는 안전발판에 대한 관심의 증가로 관련 특허 및 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으며 서울시에서는 3호선 경찰병원역의 시범설치를 비롯하여 곡선 승강장에 대한 전면적인 설치를 계획하고 있다.따라서 본 연구는 도시철도 승강장 연단 간격 발생 원인과 건축분야의 승강장 설계 기준인 도시철도 건설 규칙 및 도시철도 정거장 및 환승·편의 시설 보완 설계 지침 대해 고찰 한다. 또한 연단 실족 사상사고 분석을 통해 승강장 안전발판의 필요성과 승강장 설치형 안전발판에 대해 연구하고 대안을 제시하고자 한다.본 연구에서는 지하철 운행 중 발생하는 사상 사고의 경우 많은 경제적 손실과 더불어 인명의 피해로 연결되는 경우가 많으므로 승강장 안전사고를 저감하고 동종의 사고에 대한 재발 방지를 위한 개선 방안으로 곡선 승강장에서의 승강장 연단 실족 사상사고 예방을 위한 안전발판에 대한 기준의 제시에 의미가 있다고 생각되며 향후 안전발판에 대한 연구가 지속된다면 도시 교통의 중추적인 역할을 하고 있는 도시철도에서의 안전성 확보에 중요한 자료가 될 것이다.
