        Flat sheet membranes consisting of a selective layer and a porous support usually require gutter layer to reduce the bulk pores of the substrates. The gutter layer mitigates the geometric restrictions of support, which enables selective layer to have defect-free morphology with thin thickness (< 100 nm). For this reason, the gutter layer has been introduced to many industrial membranes, and the systematical studies of the effects of the gutter layer properties on membrane performance should be needed. Herein, we introduced several gutter layers with different thicknesses into graphene oxide intercalated polymer TFC membranes to determine the relationship between gutter layer properties and total membrane performances. This study provides more practical insight to determine the optimum gutter layer properties in designing TFC membranes.

        연소 후 생성되는 연소가스 중 CO2는 온실가스 기체중 하나로, CO2를 처리하기 하기 위해 CCS 기술 개발이 세계적으로 주목 받고 있다. 하지만 단일막을 이용한 CO2 포집 공정에서는 약 14%의 CO2를 포함한 연소 배기가스로부터 고 순도, 고회수율을 달성하기란 매우 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 다단막 공정 디자인 및 다양한 운전 변수를 통하여 14%의 CO2를 가지고 있는 혼합모사가스로부터 순도 73% 회수율 74%의 포집 효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

        Our environment is faced with serious problems related to the air pollution from automobiles in these days. In particular, the exhaust emissions from the diesel engines are recognized main cause which influenced environment strong. In this study, the potential of biodiesel fuel and oxygenated fuel (ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether; EGBE) was investigated as an effective method of decreasing the smoke emission. The smoke emission of blending fuel (EGBE 0~20 vol-%) was reduced in comparison with diesel fuel and it was reduced approximately 64% at 2000 rpm, full load in the 20% of blending rate. But torque and brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) didn't have no large differences. But, NOx emissions from biodiesel fuel and EGBE blended fuel were increased compared with diesel fuel.

        The carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology from industrial flue-gas is an important environmental issue these days. Membrane process can be competitive technology for its relatively small footprint and eco-friendly system. Many membrane modules with high selectivity and excellent flux have been developed so far. However, the high purity and recovery for CO2 capture can be achieved by optimization of operating conditions such as membrane area, feed/permeate pressure ratio and humidity of flue gas as well as membrane permeance or selectivity. In this study, we discuss the effect of operating parameters for high CO2 purity and recovery at permeate side. Using polymeric hollow fiber membrane, the single membrane process was tested to figure out the effect of feed flow rate, pressure ratio, membrane area and moisture content.

        In this study, we investigated the effects of EGR rate and engine load on the emission characteristics in a 4-cylinder common rail direct injection diesel engine fueled with canola oil biodiesel (BD) blended fuel. The biodiesel blend fuel, BD20 (20 vol.% biodiesel and 80 vol.% ULSD blend) was used at an engine speed of 1,500rpm. The experimental results showed that with the increasing of EGR rate, the combustion pressure and rate of heat release (ROHR) of three test fuels were decreased, and the ignition delay was extended, the carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM) emissions increased slightly, but the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission decreased clearly. On the other hand, with the increasing of engine load, the combustion pressure and ROHR were increased, and the CO and PM emissions decreased. However, the NOx emission was increased due to the rise of the combustion temperature.

        Hydroxyapatite (HA), which is an important calcium phosphate mineral, has been applied in orthopedics, dentistry, and many other fields depending upon its morphology. HA can be synthesized with different morphologies through controlling the synthesis method and several parameters. Here, we synthesize various morphologies of HA using two simple methods: hydrothermal combustion and solution combustion. The phase purity of the synthesized HA is confirmed using X-ray diffractometry. It demonstrates that pure phased hydroxyapatite can be synthesized using both methods. The morphology of the synthesized powder is examined using scanning electron microscopy. The effects of pH and temperature on the final powder are also investigated. At 140 oC, using the hydrothermal method, nano-micro HA rods with a hexagonal crystal structure can be synthesized, whereas using solution combustion method at 600 oC, a dense cubic morphology can be synthesized, which exhibits monoclinic crystal structures.

        This study describes the effects of canola oil biodiesel (BD) blended fuel on the combustion performance and emission characteristics in a 4-cylinder common-rail direct injection diesel engine. In this study, with the increasing of engine loads, the biodiesel blend fuels(100 vol.% ULSD and 0 vol.% biodiesel blend, BD0; 80 vol.% ULSD and 20 vol.% biodiesel blend, BD20; 0 vol.% ULSD and 100 vol.% biodiesel blend, BD100; ULSD: ultra low sulfur diesel) were used at an engine speed of 1,500rpm. The experimental results showed that with the increasing of biodiesel blend rate, the combustion pressure decreased slightly at engine load of 20~60Nm. However, the rate of heat release (ROHR) increased clearly and ignition delay time was shortened. With the increasing of biodiesel blend rate, the carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM) emissions were more decreased at all of the engine loads.

        The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of operating conditions on the performance of small HSDI compression ignition engine. Combustion and exhaust emission characteristics of engine were studied by using CFD simulation with ECFM-3Z combustion model. The conditions of simulation were varied with injection timing, injection pressure, and operating speed, and the results were compared in terms of combustion pressure, rate of heat release, NOx and soot. It was found that as injection timing was advanced and injection pressure is increased, combustion pressure and rate of heat release were increased. As a result, NOx generation is increased. Soot generation is also increased due to the wall film caused by the increase of the injection pressure and locally the rich mixture caused by the effect of the advancing of injection timing.

        This study was performed to investigate the effect of fuel combustion enhancing apparatus(FCEA) for ionization of intaking air into cylinder combustion chamber on the combustion performance and emissions characteristics in a 4-cylinder common-rail direct injection diesel engine. The experiments were applied to the engine at an engine speed of 1,500rpm under 20Nm, 40Nm, 60Nm and 80Nm conditions. The test results were compared to each other with or without the FCEA. In the case of the FCEA, the combustion pressure, peak combustion pressure and rate of heat release were increased slightly and the brake specific fuel consumption(BSFC) was decreased slightly when compared to that without the FCEA under all loads at an engine speed of 1,500rpm. However, in the case of the FCEA, the nitrogen oxide(NOx) were increased slightly, the carbon monoxide(CO) and particulate matter(PM) were decreased slightly when compared to that without the FCEA under all loads at an engine speed of 1,500rpm.

        The numerical study of laminar syngas-fuel/air mixture with 10% hydrogen content impinging plate was conducted. Effects of impinging distance, Reynolds number and equivalence ratio were major parameters on combustion and emission for stagnation point. The numerical result calculated by SPIN application of the CHEMKIN software. There result showed the following : The Peak point of the axial velocity, the flame temperature and CH reaction were appeared in tip of the inner reaction zone. The emission results in impinging flame of syngas fuel show that the characteristics of NOx emission traced well with adiabatic temperature trend and CO emission due to fuel rich condition increased continuously with respect to the equivalence ratio.

        The objective of this study is to safety assessment for human body on the guided missile combustion products. This study is to verify the safety assessment when operating the interior missile ejection take on verify the safety of the human body. During the missile ejection of combustion products, this study is analyzed combustion products. Result are accepted NIOSH and KOSHA of the safe guideline, and 6 exposure gas to the specified values 42% (CO), 22% (CO2), not detected (others) are within minimal exposures criteria of the reference value respectively. Contribution of these results supported that interior missile ejection during combustion products may have been ensured human safely. Therefore, the future for improving the environmental safety of the shooting projectile steel plate round, dust collector, ventilation and other facilities is to improve environmental safety and efficient renovated design needed by target focused areas.

        The area of greenhouse heating is 21,202 ha which becomes 42% among the total greenhouse area. As heating fuel, diesel or oil is usually used by 60%, and the heating cost takes 30 to 40% percentage at the greenhouse running. In this study, the pellet fuel heater was developed to replace oil for reducing the burden of greenhouse heating cost. The pellet fuel heater was composed of a conveying grate stoker, which could control temperature precisely like the diesel heater. Diesel and pellet were used for the greenhouse heating, whose calorific values are 9,200 and 3,898 kcal/kg, respectively. As the heating cost due to the saving effect of pellet fuel heater compared with diesel, greenhouse heating cost was reduced by 44% with pellet

        The objectives of this study was to examine experimentally the microexplosion phenomena of single droplet W/O(water-in-oil) type emulsified fuel. Also, measured the combustion characteristics of single droplet emulsified fuel for microexplosion phenomena in atmospheric pressure condition. The larger quantity of adding water makes microexplosion phenomenon with higher intensity of sound level, because larger water droplet has better coalescence for emulsified fuel. The small quantity of adding water makes puffing with lower sound level intensity. In latter period of extinction, large size droplet of the emulsified fuel breaks down rapidly to small size droplet, and microexplosion phenomenon occurs with multi step combustion.

        이산화탄소는 온실가스로써 대기 중에 축적되어 지구의 온도를 지속적으로 상승시킨다. 화석 연료 기반의 전력 생산에서 발생되는 이산화탄소는 상당량을 차지하며, 향후 수십 년간 화석연료 의존도 는 지속적으로 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 대기 중으로 배출되는 이산화탄소를 분리하는 기술개발 은 매우 시급하다. 이산화탄소 분리 기술은 크게 전처리, 후처리, 순산소 연소 방식으로 나뉘며, 본 연구 에서는 후처리 제거 공정을 중심으로 제올라이트, 활성탄, MOF 소재의 이산화탄소 분리 특성을 비교하 고, 공정기술에 대해 분석하였다.

        Amorphous agglomerates of carbon nanospheres (CNS) with a diameter range of 10-50 nm were synthesized using the solution combustion method. High-resolution transmission elec-tron microscopy (HRTEM) revealed a densely packed high surface area of SP2-hybridized carbon; however, there were no crystalline structural components, as can be seen from the scanning electron microscopy, HRTEM, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and ther-mal gravimetric analyses. Electrochemical and thermo catalytic decomposition study results show that the material can be used as a potential electrode candidate for the fabrication of energy storage devices and also for the production of free hydrogen if such devices are used in a fluidized bed reactor loaded with the as-prepared CNS as the catalyst bed.
