        In order to increase seismic performance of nuclear power plant (NPP) in strong seismic zone, lead-rubber bearing (LRB) can be applied to seismic isolation system of NPP structures. Simple equivalent linear model as structural analysis model of LRB is more widely used in initial design process of LRB than a bilinear model. Seismic responses for seismically isolated NPP containment structures subjected to earthquakes categorized into 5 different soil-site classes are calculated by both of the equivalent linear- and bilinear- LRB models and compared each others. It can be observed that the maximum displacements of LRB and shear forces of containment in the case of the equivalent linear LRB model are larger than those in the case of bilinear LRB model. From the seismic fragility curves of NPP containment structures isolated by LRB, it can be observed that seismic fragility in the case of equivalent linear LRB model are about 5~30 % larger than those in the case of bilinear LRB model.

        New lead-free piezoelectric ceramics 0.96[{Bi0.5 (Na0.84 K0.16)0.5}1-xLax(Ti1-y Nby)O3]-0.04SrTiO3 (BNKT-ST-LN, where x = y = 0.00 ≤ (x = y) ≤ 0.015) were synthesized using the conventional solid-state reaction method. Their crystal structure, microstructure, and electrical properties were investigated as a function of the La and Nb (LN) content. The X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the formation of a single-phase perovskite structure for all the LN-modified BNKT-ST ceramics in this study. The temperature dependence of the dielectric curves showed that the maximum dielectric constant temperature (Tm) shifted towards lower temperatures and the curves became more diffuse with an increasing LN content. At the optimum composition (LN 0.005), a maximum value of remnant polarization (33 C/cm2) with a relatively low coercive field (22 kV/cm) and high piezoelectric constant (215 pC/N) was observed. These results indicate that the LN co-modified BNKT-ST ceramic system is a promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials.

        납축전지 활물질 제작 공정 중 숙성공정에서 온도 제어를 통해 활물질 결정 크기를 제어할 수 있고, 생성된 활물질에 따라 초기 성능 향상, 내구성능 향상 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 숙성반응 후 생성된 활물 중 3BS는 초기성능에는 유리 하였고, 4BS의 경우 초기 성능은 불리하였으나 내구 성능이 3BS활물질에 비해 48% 향상 되었다. 자동차용 납축전지를 ISG시스템이 적용된 자동차에 사용하기 위해 평가하는 DOD17.5% 수명시험 평가 결과, 일반 자동차 시동용으로 널리 사용하고 있는 Flooded 납축전는 적합하지 않은 것으로 확인 되었고, AGM 납축전지가 적합한 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 3BS 활물질을 적용한 AGM 납축전지에 비해 4BS 활물질을 적용한 AGM 납축전지가 내구력이 우수하여 ISG 시스템에 적용된 자동차에 적합한 것으로 확인 되었다.

        It is very important to assure the seismic performance of equipment as well as building structures in seismic design of nuclear power plant(NPP). Seismically isolated structures may be reviewed mainly on the horizontal seismic responses. Considering the equipment installed in the NPP, the vertical earthquake responses of the structure also should be reviewed. This study has investigated the vertical seismic demand of seismically isolated structure by lead rubber bearings(LRBs). For the numerical evaluation of seismic demand of the base isolated NPP, the Korean standard nuclear power plant (APR1400) is modeled as 4 different models, which are supported by LRBs to have 4 different horizontal target periods. Two real earthquake records and artificially generated input motions have been used as inputs for earthquake analyses. For the study, the vertical floor response spectra(FRS) were generated at the major points of the structure. As a results, the vertical seismic responses of horizontally isolated structure have largely increased due to flexibility of elastomeric isolator. The vertical stiffness of the bearings are more carefully considered in the seismic design of the base-isolated NPPs which have the various equipment inside.

        In recent years, technology has been developed the way the volume of the portable communication device is reduced but its performance is maintained. The COF(Chip On Film) packaging method is used due to the densification of the lead pitch, especially for the display driver IC. During COF packaging, lead break and film detachment could occur by the high bonding temperature and pressure, and possibility for lead interference can emerge by deformation of leads. In this study, a new double-column arrangement of leads is considered to increase lead density further than the existing zigzag arrangement of leads, and nonlinear structural analysis was carried out to examine whether the interference can occur. The results showed that stress and deformation of the corner region appear relatively higher than those of central region, and interference did not occur by the lead strain for the double-column arrangement of leads with pitch of 25μm. Therefore, double-column lead arrangement can improve lead density by about 176% compared to the zigzag lead arrangement

        In order to perform a soil-isolation-structure interaction analysis of seismically isolated nuclear power plant (NPP) structures, the nonlinear behavior of a seismic isolation system may be converted to an equivalent linear model used in frequency domain analysis. Seismic responses for seismically isolated NPP containment structures subjected to a simple artificial acceleration history and different site class earthquakes are evaluated for the equivalent-linear and nonlinear models that have been applied to lead-rubber bearing (LRB) modeling. It can be observed that the maximum displacements of the equivalent linear model are larger than that of the nonlinear model. From the floor response spectrum analysis for the top of NPP containment structures, it can be observed that the spectral acceleration of an equivalent linear model at about 0.5 Hz frequency is about 2~3 times larger than that of a nonlinear model.

        In order to increase the seismic safety of nuclear power plant (NPP) structures in high seismicity regions, seismic isolation techniques can be adapted to NPP structures. In this paper, the applicability of multi-step analysis of seismically isolated NPP containment structures with lead-rubber bearings (LRB) is evaluated. The floor response spectrum of NPP containment structures with equivalent linear LRB and nonlinear LRB are compared. In addition, the force-displacement relationships for equivalent linear LRB and nonlinear LRB are compared.

        Positive plate was composed of lead hydroxide via reaction between lead oxide and H2O and lead sulfate was formed of the reaction of lead hydroxide with sulfuric acid. And its density is 3.8 g/cm3, 4.0 g/cm3, 4.2 g/cm3 and 4.4 g/cm3 by controlling volume of refined water. Curing of positive plate is done for low (45℃, 40hr, over 95% of relative humidity) & high (80℃, 40hr, over 95% of relative humidity) temperature, which created 3BS & 4BS active materials. Experimental result of DOD with 100% life cycle test shows that it was not related to the density of active materials but to the low & high temperature aging of active materials. The test makes us to understand that the crystallization which is made by curing of active materials is a more of a main factor than density of active materials under the deep cycle using circumstances. The active materials which were from the high temperature curing are better for deep cycle performance.

        Three activated carbons (ACs) were prepared using NaOH (N) as an activating agent. Hy-drofluoricacid pre-leached rice husk was used as a precursor. After leaching, the precursor was washed with distilled water, dried, crushed, and then sieved; a size fraction of 0.3-0.5 mm was selected for carbonization in the absence of air at 600°C. The carbonization prod-uct (LC) was mixed with NaOH at ratios of 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 (wt of LC: wt of NaOH) and the produced ACs after activation at 800°C were designated NLC21, NLC31, and NLC41, respectively. Surface and textural properties were determined using nitrogen adsorption at -196°C, scanning electron microscopy images, thermogravimetric analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectra . These ACs were used as adsorbents for lead(II) from aqueous solutions. The effects of the textural properties and the chemistry of the carbon surfaces were investigated and the impact of the operation conditions on the capacity for lead(II) sorption was also considered. Modificationof NLC41 with H2O2 and HNO3 gave two other adsorbents, HNLC41 and NNLC41 respectively. These two new samples exhibited the highest removal capacities for lead(II), i.e.117.5 and 128.2 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption data fittedthe Langmuir isotherm and the kinetic adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinet-ics. The thermodynamic parameters have been determined and they indicated a spontaneous endothermic process.

        PTEF membranes are used for roofing materials of membrane structures. PTEF is the abbreviation of Poly-tetra Fluotide-ethylene. These materials are consisted of fiberglass weave and polyetrfluoroethylene coating. Also, PTEF membranes have some problems of structural capacity by wind or snow load, etc. In this study, sensor housings using lead switches are bonding in PTFE membranes, Monitoring to changes tension and tear damages are studied using radio frequency. If tension is received on edged membranes, bonded lead switches of sensor housings will be destroyed by changes tension, and these become to send signals of damages at the connected radio frequency system with increased tension. Study of these functional membrane materials will be contributed to prevent water leakage and long-term maintenance of membrane structures.

        Lead (II) ion selective poly(aniline) solid contact electrode based on Tetramethylthiuram monosulfide ionophore as a sulfur containing sensing material is successfully developed. The electrode exhibits good linear response of 25.6 mV / decade (at 20±0.2℃, r2=0.995) within the concentration range of 1.0×10-1~4.0×10-7 M Pb (II). The composition of this electrode was Ionophore : PVC : dioctylphthalate : potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate : Oleic acid = 5.0 : 20.0 : 25.0 : 4.0 : 5.0. When we consider the results of using different composition electrodes based on only one potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate or Oleic acid liphophlic additive, poly(aniline) solid contact electrode based on Tetramethylthiuram monosulfide ionophore with potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate and Oleic acid liphophlic additive had the best result in response characteristics. The electrode shows good selectivity for lead (II) ion in comparison with alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. This electrode is suitable for use with aqueous solutions of pH 3.0 ~ 7.0 and their standard deviation in the measured emf differences was ±2.94 mV at Tris buffered lead sample solution of 1.0×10-2 M and ±2.82 mV at Tris buffered lead sample solution of 1.0×10-3 M. Their stabilization time was less than 710 s. and response time was less than 16 s.

        This paper is to analyze the picking lead time for picking batch size in a warehouse system and to get minimum picking batch size that is the warehouse system feasible. The warehouse system consists of aisles and racks, which two racks face each other through aisle. The products are picked from the storage locations by batch size. The probability that items are picked in the each row of the rack in the aisle for order picking activity is derived. The picking lead time for picking batch size is the time passed from the first picking location to arrival at starting location in aisle picking all items included in a batch size. The picking lead time for picking batch size in an aisle is analyzed. The picking lead time for picking batch size in the whole warehouse system is obtained. The warehouse system is feasible if all items that customers order are picked from the storage locations for same period. The picking batch size that is the warehouse system feasible is obtained. The problem is analyzed, a solution procedure is developed, and a numerical example is shown to explain the problem.

        As customers' demands for diversified small-quantity products have been increased, there have been great efforts for a firm to respond to customers' demands flexibly and minimize the cost of inventory at the same time. To achieve that goal, in SCM perspective, many firms have tried to control the inventory efficiently. We present an mathematical model to determine the near optimal (s, S) policy of the supply chain, composed of multi suppliers, a warehouse and multi retailers. (s, S) policy is to order the quantity up to target inventory level when inventory level falls below the reorder point. But it is difficult to analyze inventory level because it is varied with stochastic demand of customers. To reflect stochastic demand of customers in our model, we do the analyses in the following order. First, the analysis of inventory in retailers is done at the mathematical model that we present. Then, the analysis of demand pattern in a warehouse is performed as the inventory of a warehouse is much effected by retailers' order. After that, the analysis of inventory in a warehouse is followed. Finally, the integrated mathematical model is presented. It is not easy to get the solution of the mathematical model, because it includes many stochastic factors. Thus, we get the solutions after the stochastic demand is approximated, then they are verified by the simulations.

        Rubber laminated bearings with lead core are highly affected by changes in temperature because key materials which are rubber and lead have temperature dependencies. In this study, two full scale LRB(D800, S=5) are manufactured and temperature dependency tests on shear properties are accomplished. The shear properties at the 3rd cycle are used at -10℃, 0℃, 10℃,20℃, 30℃, 40℃ respectively. The double shear configuration, simultaneously testing two pieces, is applied for compression shear test in order to minimize the friction effects due to the test machine, described in ISO 22762-1:2010. Characteristic strength, post-yield stiffness, effective stiffness, equivalent damping ratio are estimated and presented coefficient due to the temperature changes.

        This study was carried out as a survey on the level of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As) and mercury (Hg) in 5 items of agricultural products (lettuce, pumpkin, head lettuce, cabbage and crown daisy) for which safety guidelines are not yet established in Korea. The 407 samples were collected from local markets in 9 regional places and the levels of metals were measured by ICP-MS and mercury analyzer. The average levels of Pb, Cd, As and Hg were 0.026, 0.018 ,0.008 and 0.003 mg/kg for lettuce, 0.002, 0.001, 0.001 and 0.0006 mg/kg for pumpkin, 0.002, 0.005, 0.001 and 0.0005 mg/kg for head lettuce, 0.001, 0.002, 0.0002 and 0.0006 mg/kg for cabbage and 0.022, 0.014, 0.006 and 0.004 mg/kg for crown daisy. For risk assessment, the daily dietary exposures of Pb, Cd and Hg by intake of these agricultural products were calculated and compared with PTWI (provisional tolerable weekly intake) established by JECFA. The daily dietary exposure of heavy metals by intake of these agricultural products were 0.13, 0.56 and 0.09% of PTWI, respectively. These monitoring results will be utilized as fundamental data for the establishment of Korean standards of Pb, Cd, As and Hg in 5 items of agricultural products and valuable source for DB construction for science-based safety control of heavy metals in foods including agricultural products.

        본 연구는 말똥성게(Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus)의 생식세포 및 pluteus 유생을 이용하여 중금속인 납(lead, Pb)과 아연(zinc, Zn)의 독성을 조사였다. H. pulcherrimus 배우자 및 배아에 미치는 Pb과 Zn의 독성은 각각 31, 63, 125, 250, 500 ppb 및 16, 31, 63, 125, 250 ppb의 농도에서 조사하였다. 0.5 M KCl 용액을 이용하여 방란 및 방정을 유도하였고, 수정률 및 정상 배아발생률의 조사는 수정 후 각각 10분 및 64시간째 관찰하여 시행하였다. Pb 노출 시 수정률은 대조군과 비교하여 유의적인 변화가 없었다. 그러나 정상 배아발생률은 농도가 높을수록 농도의존적으로 유의적인 감소를 보였다. Zn을 노출시켰을 경우 수정률과 정상 배아발생률은 농도가 높을 수록 농도의존적인 유의적 감소를 나타냈다. H. pulcherrimus의 정상 배아 발생에 대한 독성치는 각각 Pb (반수영향농도 (EC50) 45.13 ppb, 95% Cl 40.12~50.05 ppb), Zn (반수영향농도(EC50) 19.82 ppb, 95% Cl 18.26~21.31 ppb)로 나타났다. 또한 Pb과 Zn의 무영향농도(NOEC)는 각각 ⁄31.25 ppb 및 ⁄15.63 ppb로 나타났고, 최소영향농도(LOEC)는 31.25 및 15.63 ppb로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과, H. pulcherrimus의 초기 배아발생 과정은 Pb과 Zn 등의 중금속에 높은 민감성을 보인다. 따라서 H. pulcherrimus는 해양생태계 위해 평가를 위한 시험생물로서 사용이 가능하다고 사료된다.

        Studies on lead-free piezoelectrics have been attractive as means of meeting environmental requirements. We synthesized lead-free piezoelectric (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3-Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BNT-BCN) ceramics, and their dielectric, piezoelectric, and strain behavior were characterized. As BCN with a tetragonal phase was incorporated into the rhombohedral BNT lattice, the lattice constant increased. A small amount of BCN increased the density and dielectric constant forming the complete solid solution with BNT. However, BCN above 10 mol% was precipitated into a separate phase, and which was detected with XRD. In addition, EDX measurement revealed that Cu in BCN was not distributed homogeneously but was accumulated in a certain area. A lower density with a large amount of BCN was attributed to the nonsinterable property of BCN with large tetragonaliy. The dielectric constant vs the temperature change and the strain vs the electric field indicated that the ferroelectric property of BNT was diminished and paraelectric behavior was enhanced with the BCN addition. BNT-7.5BCN showed a 0.11% unimorph strain with a 9.0 kV/mm electric field with little hysteresis.

        This research was carried out as a survey on the contents of Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in 5 type agricultural products unestablished safety guideline in Korea. The average levels of Pb: onion 0.010 mg/kg, cucumber 0.018 mg/kg, garlic 0.012 mg/kg, green pepper 0.027 mg/kg, sesame 0.029 mg/kg. The average levels of Cd: onion 0.006 mg/kg, cucumber 0.002 mg/kg, garlic 0.008 mg/kg, green pepper 0.011 mg/kg, sesame 0.024 mg/kg. The present result of this study showed that Pb and Cd contents in the whole samples were less than the maximum residual levels of the codex standard. The levels of exposure assessment for Pb and Cd by intake from vegetables and sesame were merely at 1.3 × 10−⁴(mean) ~5.1 × 10−⁴(95th percentiles) μg/kg bw/day for Pb, 7.5 × 10−5(mean)~3.6 × 10−⁴(95th percentiles) μg/kg bw/day for Cd. The data from this research will be valuable source for database construction for science-based safety control and management for the trace metal contamination in food including agricultural products.
