        In this study, three kinds of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques for the effective maintenance of underwater concrete structures are investigated: schmidt hammer-based NDE, indirect ultrasonic waves-base NDE and impact echo method using noncontact air-coupled sensing system. Currently, lots of limitations to implement these techniques to real-world structures are being considered.

        This paper is to investigate the effect of heat curing method on strength development of concrete subjected to -10℃ by preparing mock up specimen, which had slab, wall and column. As expected, the application of heat curing methods had larger strength than non heat curing specimen because of higher maturity. And within 7 days of heat curing, minimum strength to protect from early frost damage was achieved.

        This study proposed a hybrid floating structure which is expected to have better structural behavior than general pontoon type structure.         This experimental study evaluates of seismic performance on strain-hardening cement-based composite (SHCC). The objective of this study is to evaluate of seismic capacity reduction factor on two sides confined SHCC infill walls. The experimental results as cseismic capacity reduction factor are not significantly different.

        In this study, experimental research was carried out to improve the structural performance of reinforced concrete beam-column joint using high performance FRP materials in existing reinforced concrete building. Test result shows that retrofitting specimen(LBCJ-CRU, CRS, CRUS) designed by the improvement of seismic performance of reinforced concrete beam-column joints load-carrying capacities were increased 1.30~1.54 times in comparison with the standard specimen.

        Mostly, solar panel support structure has been constructed as flat-type structure. But, it is not harmonized with the existing buildings. Therefore, this study presents the curved support structures and performs the structural analysis for the selection of member size. Also, the structural safety is evaluated through joint experiments and finite element analysis.

        The main factor which makes RC structures weakening is corrosion of reinforced-bar that inserted in elements of the structure, and there are many researches that trying to figure out how to prevent degradation of strength of the re-bar.         The shell of form-finding is most important in design procedure of the cooling tower, because the shape of the shell determines the sensitivity of dynamic behavior of the whole tower against wind excitation. The purpose of the study is the investigation of the influences of the geometric parameters of the cooling tower shell on the structural behavior. As a result, a hyperbolic rotational shell with the small radius overall will yield the shell geometry with a higher first natural frequency and thus a wind-insensitive structure. Linearly and nonlinearly numerical analysis are demonstrated influence of the shell-geometric parameters on structural behaviours. The results of this study may be informative for the form-finding of the cooling tower shell.

        According to the analysis results of the maintenance monitoring which are located on the 5, 6th subway line, they are analyzed that the stress of concrete lining and reinforced bar are converged gradually after 45 months. Therefore Monitoring of measurement and analysis frequency is conduct more often within about 4 years after the measuring instrument installation. Four years later, slowing the frequency of measurement is considered reasonable.

        In this paper, the applicability of structural health monitoring (SHM) system is evaluated on a full-scale concrete cable-stayed bridge, Hwamyung Bridge in Korea. Firstly, Imote2-platformed wireless sensor node for structural health monitoring is designed to monitor the cable forces by the vibration-impedance-based SHM. Secondly, the experimental setup is presented by filed verification test on Hwamyung Bridge. Finally, the long-term monitoring performance of the wireless sensor system is examined under various weather conditions. Also, the accuracy of cable force monitoring by the wireless sensor system is evaluated for the target bridge.

        Damages due to typhoon and floods are increasing as a result of global warming and abnormal climate phenomenon over the world. Flood and scour is one of the major causes for bridge collapse. However, maintenance and inspection techniques still need improvements especially for underwater structures like bridge piers in rivers. Conventionally, manual inspection by divers has been carried out for underwater structures of bridges. This has difficulties in gathering accurate and reliable field data under severe environmental conditions. Therefore, in this study, underwater inspection of bridges has been carried out using the side scan sonar (SSS), one of unmanned underwater inspection equipment. Compared to the conventional manual inspection, it has been found that the SSS can be efficiently utilized to underwater inspection of bridges especially with bad visibility or large-scale inspection area.

        This study presents the comparison or distribution of the dynamic responses with or without soil-structure interaction. As a result, the maximum dynamic displacements and member forces of the suspension bridge with the soil-structure interaction (SSI) are larger than those without SSI. Therefore, the SSI analysis of suspension bridge must be performed more exactly to represent its dynamic responses.

        The difference in phase and amplitude of ground motions recorded in different locations is generally known as spatial variation of seismic ground motions. This study focuses on the effects of spatial variation of earthquake ground motion on responses of adjacent buildings. The adjacent frame buildings are modeled considering soil-structure interaction (SSI) so that all the buildings can have interaction with each other under non-uniform ground motions. Based on Fast Fourier Transformation, spatially correlated non-uniform ground motions are generated compatible with known spectrum density function at different locations. Numerical analyses are carried out and the results are presented in terms of related parameters affecting the structural response using three different types of soil site classes. The results show that the effects of ground motion spatial variation are different for different site classes. The effect is more significant on rock site rather than clay site.
