The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of changing the distribution of dialects through a geolinguistic approaches. Traditional studies in dialectology were generally aimed at describing the geographically distributed variation of language. However, with traditional approach, it would be difficult to analyze the complex reason for the changes in dialectal distributions. Since the geographical factor is not the only reason for language change, it is necessary to consider more factors in examining language maintenance and change. To investigate the distribution of dialects and explore its changes, the primary work involves thorough field surveys, and the next step is to draw a language map with well-organized dialect data. The present study employs a field survey method and draws a language map based on the field survey results. The purpose of this paper is to propose geolinguistic methodologies for analyzing the change in the distribution of dialects that can be confirmed on a language map constructed on such a basis. Geolinguistics analysis methods are as follows: 1) analysis by non-verbal conditions, 2) real time analysis, 3) measurement of innovation wave spreading speed, 4) surrounding-zones dialect theory, 5) principles of adjacent distribution and around distribution, and 6) S-curve theoretical analysis.
Pseudo-static approach has been conventionally applied for the design of gravity quay walls. In this method, the decision to select an appropriate seismic coefficient (kh) is an important one, since kh is a key variable for computing an equivalent pseudo-static inertia force. Nonetheless, there is no unified standard for defining kh. Likewise, port structure designers in Korea have a difficulty in choosing an appropriate kh definition, as there are conflicts in how kh is defined between the existing seismic code of port structures and the proposed new one. In this research, various seismic design codes for port structures were analyzed to compare the definitions of the seismic coefficient. The results were used for the proposing a unified seismic coefficient definition. Further, two dynamic centrifuge tests were performed with different wall heights (5 m, 15 m) to clarify the reference point of peak acceleration used in determination of kh according to the wall height. Results from dynamic centrifuge experiments showed that correction factors for the peak ground acceleration considering both the wall height and allowable displacement are needed to calculate kh.
The concern on the greenhouse gas emissions is increasing globally. Especially, the greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue due to Cancun Agreements Mexico in 1992 and the Kyoto protocol in 2005. Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 5.2% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries has not been executed much. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is needed as the first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries. The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted from the major coastal fisheries such as coastal gillnet fishery, coastal dual purpose fishery, coastal pots fishery and coastal small scale stow net fishery. Here, we calculated the GHG emission from the fisheries using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the unit weight of fishes are also calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.
This study was performed to propose the sewer defect scoring, and grading protocols for sewer condition assessment. For this, sewer defect scoring methods were comparatively analyzed and reviewed for four international condition assessment protocols, which are established based on WRc manual. As a result, we proposed a new protocol for sewer condition assessment, in which characteristics of sewer pipes are considered by segment. In reference to the PIM-3, the extent of ground subsidence was adopted to be of importance, and renewal scores increased in accordance with weighting of defects causing structural backfill materials. Also, defect grades of ‘Hole’ were extended to 5 levels of the grading, and ‘Surface Damage’ was excluded in defect assessment. The addition of ‘Buckling’ resulted in reduction of weights in ‘Surface Damage’ and ‘Lining Defects’.
Surge pressure is created by rapid change of flow rate due to operation of hydraulic component or accident of pipeline. Proper control of surge pressure in distribution system is important because it can damage pipeline and may have the potential to degrade water quality by pipe leakage due to surge pressure. Surge relief valve(SRV) is one of the most widely used devices and it is important to determine proper parameters for SRV’s installation and operation. In this research, determining optimum parameters affecting performance of the SRV were investigated. We proposed the methodology for finding combination of parameters for best performance of the SRV. Therefore, the objective function for evaluate fitness of candidate parameters and surge pressure simulation software was developed to validate proposed parameters for SRV. The developed software was integrated into genetic algorithm(GA) to find best combination of parameters.
Columns in existing reinforced concrete structures that are designed and constructed without considering seismic loads generally exhibit widely spaced transverse reinforcements without using seismic hooks. Due to the insufficient reinforcement details in columns compared to the reinforcement requirements specified in modern seismic codes, brittle shear failure is likely to occur. This may lead to sudden collapse of entire structure during earthquakes. Adequate retrofit strategy is required for these columns to avoid such catastrophic event. In order to do so, behavior of columns in existing reinforced concrete structures should be accurately predicted through computational analysis. In this study, an analytical model is proposed for accurately simulating the cyclic behavior of shear critical columns. The parameters for backbone, as well as pinching and cyclic deterioration in strength and stiffness are calibrated using test data of column specimens failed by shear.
For driver convenience, different types of transmission are being developed, such as AT(Automatic Transmission), AMT(Automated Manual Transmission), CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) and DCT(Dual Clutch Transmission). To improve ride comfort and durability of the transmission, control system is important during launching and shifting process. For accurate control, vehicle mass and road gradient should be known. In this study, heavy duty vehicle’s mass and road gradient estimation method is developed. The method uses only signals from CAN(Controller Area Network) without applying extra sensors. Vehicle mass and gradient is estimated by LMS(Least Mean Square) method based on longitudinal vehicle dynamic model. To verify the estimation logic, test was conducted using a chassis dynamometer. The estimation results after test and test condition is compared. The error rate of vehicle mass estimation was 5 percent and gradient estimation result had 2 percent error.
The purpose of this study was to find efficient and customized tools for delivering the benefit of health functional foods (HFFs). Delivery tools which could influence the impact of advertising were images, explanations of ingredients, diagrams of health benefit, patents, and comments from authority. Six advertisements were developed using these tools: “A”: relevant image + explanation of ingredients + scientific diagram of efficacy; “B”: relevant image + explanation of ingredients; “C”: relevant image; “D”: irrelevant image; “E”: irrelevant image + explanation of ingredient + patent; “F”: irrelevant image + explanation of ingredient + comments from authority. To analyze the consumer perceptions on HFFs and advertisement effects, 300 respondents were requested to answer a questionnaire comprising of the following questions: 5 questions of attitudes (necessity of HFFs, trust in HFFs, gathering information, watching advertisements and trust in advertisement claims) and 6 questions on the 6 developed advertisements (attention, understanding, sufficiency of information, sympathy, trust, and purchase). Scoring was done as per the 5 Likert scale. There was a higher proportion of females and the elderly, as compared to males and youngsters. The overall consumer attitudes were positive. Explanation of ingredients, scientific diagram of health benefit, patents and expert comments were helpful factors in increasing the advertisement evaluation by consumer, but the images were not. Advertisement evaluation of consumer did not differ with gender and age. However, differences were observed between some of the consumer attitudes (necessity of HFFs, trust in HFFs, gathering information and trust in advertisements claim) and advertisement evaluations (attention, understanding, sympathy and purchase). Our results indicate that for consumers utilizing the HFFs, advertisements with concrete tools such as diagrams, patent, and expert comments are more helpful. However, for consumers who do not have interest in HFFs, the scientific information was irrelevant. We believe that to maximize the effect of health information in advertisements, consumers should be segmented, and customized tools for each segment needs to be developed.
There is a growing concern on the improvement of water distribution pipeline for multi-regional water supply system in Korea along with its aging infrastructure. Rehabilitation of large diameter pipeline is more efficient in cost and time compared to replacement with trenching. The procedure for rehabilitation are diagnosis, cleaning, spraying coating material, and final inspection. The internal state of pipeline was carefully diagnosed and got C grade, which required rehabilitation. We found that 17,274,787,000 Korean won could be saved after pipe surface coating because of increased C coefficient of Hazen-Williams equation. Optimal coating material was D polyurea. We also found optimal distance between spraying nozzle and pipe wall to be 70 - 80 cm, which were critical factors for coating quality. This study also illustrated the time for spray drying to be more than 30 min. These results could be used in the quality control process during rehabilitation of aged pipelines.
본 연구는 전처리 방법이 새싹채소 재배에 사용되는 종자 중 식중독 세균의 검출율에 영향을 미치는지에 대해 검증하기 위해 시중 유통되고 있는 새싹채소 재배용 종자19종을 수집하여 종자를 세척 방법과 발아 방법으로 전처리한 후 E. coli, E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella spp., L. monocytogenes의 검출율을 비교하였다. 또한 인위적으로 Salmonella enterica를 접종한 알팔파 종자에 대해서 무처리, 세척, 발아 방법으로 전처리한 후 S. enterica의 검출율을 검정하였다. 시중 유통되고 있는 종자를 수집하여 분석한 결과, 세척 방법과 발아 방법 등의 전처리 방법에 따라 E. coli 검출율과 양성시료에 차이가 있었음을 확인하였다. 인위적으로 S. enterica를 접종한 알팔파 종자에 대한 검출율 비교 검정에서도 분석시료량 대비 전처리방법 별로 검출율이 차이가 나는 것으로 나타났고, 선택배지 종류에 따라서도 S. enterica의 검출율이 차이가 났다. 결론적으로 새싹채소 재배용 종자의 식중독 세균 분석에 있어서 종자의 전처리 방법, 시료당 분석시료량, 선택배지 종류 등이 검출율에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구는 축산식품으로부터 식중독균 검출을 위한 시료 전처리법을 확립하기 위해 전처리용액, 균질화 시간, 시료와 전처리용액의 비율에 따른 회수율을 비교하였다. 이를 위하여 햄, 발효유, 소고기에 E. coli O157:H7, S. aureus, S. Typhimurium를 7.0 log CFU/g로 접종하고 PW, SS, BPD, BPW로 처리하였다. 또한 균질화 시간은 30, 60, 90, 120, 300초, 시료와 전처리용액 비율은 1:2, 1:4, 1:9, 1:19로 각각 처리하였다. 그 결과 발효유와 소고기에서는 BPW로 처리하였을 때 전반적으로 식중독균의 회수율이 높았으나(p < 0.05), 햄의 경우에는 전처리 용액에 따른 유의적 차이는 없다. 전처리용액의 최적 비율은 햄, 발효유, 소고기가 각각 1:9, 1:2, 1:4였으며(p < 0.05), 균질화 시간은 모든 시료에서 120초로 처리했을 때 유의적으로 가장 높은 회수율이 나타났다(p < 0.05). 따라서 선정된 최적 전처리 조건에서 식중독균 회수율을 수행한 결과 모든 시료및 균종에서 85%이상의 높은 회수율을 보였다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 축산식품으로부터 식중독균 검출을 위한 전처리 용액 및 시료와 전처리용액의 비율은 시료의 종류에 따라 적절한 것으로 사용하는 것이 식중독균 검출의 정확성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 판단되어진다.
Much of the data used in the analysis of environmental ecological data is being obtained over time. If the number of time points is small, the data will not be given enough information, so repeated measurements or multiple survey points data should be used to perform a comprehensive analysis. The method used for that case is longitudinal data analysis or mixed model analysis. However, if the amount of information is sufficient due to the large number of time points, repetitive data are not needed and these data are analyzed using time series analysis technique. In particular, with a large number of data points in the current situation, when we want to predict how each variable affects each other, or what trends will be expected in the future, we should analyze the data using time series analysis techniques. In this study, we introduce univariate time series analysis, intervention time series model, transfer function model, and multivariate time series model and review research papers studied in Korea. We also introduce an error correction model, which can be used to analyze environmental ecological data.
In this study, swine and cattle farms located in Jeollanam-do were selected to analyze and evaluate the components of odorants in livestock facilities. In addition, a preliminary survey of the literature was conducted to establish a sampling and analysis method for phenol and indoles which are major components of odor emissions from livestock facilities, yet are not regulated by the laws. To establish a sampling and analysis method for phenol and indoles, Tedlar bag and Tenax-TA sorbent tube was used as background concentration of blank sample and samples according to the elapsed time. The results obtained indicate the GC/MS analysis with Tenax-TA sorbent tube sampling was an effective method for measuring the compounds of phenol and indoles. In the swine facility, the rankings of the odorants in order, from highest to lowest, were ammonia, sulfuric compounds, phenol/indoles, volatile fatty acids. The main odorants were hydrogen sulfide (41.3%) and 4-methylphenol (p-cresol, 13.9%). In the swine slurry storage, hydrogen sulfide (33.7%), ammonia (18.8%), and 3-methylindole (skatole, 15.7%) were the main odorants, and hydrogen sulfide (31%) and i-valeric acid (32.4%) were the main odorants in the cattle farms.
지붕 환기장치 설치방법의 개선에 의한 작물 재배효과를 검증하고자 농가현장에서 개선 지붕 환기방식과 관행 환기방식을 비교, 분석하였다. 개선 지붕 환기방식은 참외재배 단동 플라스틱 온실(폭 5.6m, 길이 108m, 측고 1.1m, 동고 2.2m)에 지붕 환기팬(용량 38m3/min)과 환기 통(지름 60cm)을 각각 15m와 6m 간격으로 설치하였고, 대조구로서 관행 지붕 환기방식은 각각 20m와 8m 간격으로 설치하였다. 관행 및 개선 지붕 환기 방식에 따른 생육을 조사한 결과, 관행 환기통과 환기팬 처리에 비해 개선 환기통과 개선 환기팬 처리에서 경경, 엽장, 엽병장, 및 엽폭의 값이 낮게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. 생육기 전반부에 관행 환기통 처리는 환기팬 처리에 비해 절간장이 다소 길게 발달하였는데 이는 착과수가 환기팬 처리에 비해 적었고, 착과수 감소로 인해 동화산물이 잎과 줄기의 신장부로 좀 더 이동된 영향으로 판단되었다. 참외재배 단동 비닐하우스에서 과실 수량을 조사한 결과, 개선 환기팬과 개선 환기통 처리는 관행처리에 비해 과중은 약간 작았지만, 착과수 증가로 인해 전체 수량은 높게 나타났다. 개선 환기팬과 개선 환기통 설치 하우스에서는 관행 지붕 환기 하우스에 비해 상품과율이 높았 으며, 10a당 상품수량도 각각 8,391kg, 7,283kg 으로 나타나 관행 지붕 환기에 비해 개선 환기팬 처리는 661kg, 개선 환기통 처리는 487kg 더 증가하였다. 개선 환기팬 처리는 고온기에 암꽃수와 착과수가 가장 많았고, 낙과수는 가장 낮게 나타났으며, 관행의 환기통 처리에 비해 과실의 크기는 작았다. 시기별 환기방식에 따른 참외 과실의 품질을 조사한 결과, 관행 환기통 환기에서 과중, 과경, 과폭, 및 과육두께가 가장 높게 나타났으나, 과폭, 과육두께에 있어서 통계적인 유의차는 나타나지 않았다.
This study was carried out to determine the effects of application levels of fertilizer and sowing methods on yields and nutritive values of Italian ryegrass (IRG) in early spring. Five fertilizer levels were used: Treatment 1, 100-80-80 kg/ha; Treatment 2, 120-100-100 kg/ha; Treatment 3, 140-120-120 kg/ha; Treatment 4, 160-140-140 kg/ha; Treatment 5, 140-120-120 kg/ha of N-P2O5-K2O with silicate fertilizer 200 kg/ha. Dry matter (DM) yield was 8,330 kg/ha in Treatment 5, 7,686 kg/ha in Treatment 4, and 7,347 kg/ha in Treatment 3. There was no significant difference in total digestible nutrients (TDN) content. The content of crude protein was the highest in Treatment 5. Dry matter ratio was the lowest in Treatment 5. In Treatment 3, DM yield was 7,347 kg/ha, when total amounts of fertilizers were applied at one time. However, DM yield was 7,405 kg/ha, when 50% of pre-planting fertilizer and 50% of supplementary fertilizer were applied at different time. There was no significant difference between total application and split application of fertilizers. However, DM yield was 9,469 kg/ha in application treatment with 100 kg/ha of additional urea at three to four leaf stages of IRG. Regarding DM yield by sowing methods of IRG, the following order was found: drill seeding (8,176 kg/ha) > rotary-broadcast seeding-stamping (7,957 kg/ha) > rotary-broadcast seeding (7,810 kg/ha) > broadcast seeding (7,347 kg/ha) > broadcast seeding-rotary (7,034 kg/ha). DM yield (59.57%) was the lowest in broadcast seedingrotary. Crude protein content was the highest with rotary work but the lowest with broadcast seeding.
This study compared the stability of odor compounds in three different types of polymer sampling bags. Tedlar, PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and aluminized polyester bag were used. A sample was collected from the interior of a new automobile which was parked in an outdoor parking lot. It was found that the Tedlar bag showed lower stability for odor active compounds than the PET bag. Meanwhile, the PET bag had good stability for odor compounds compared to the aluminized polyester bag. The PET bag showed a stability for the molecules smaller than toluene that was comparable to the canister, but showed a lower recovery for molecules bigger than C7. The FID signal of the sample in the PET bag was reduced by 1.7times after 3days storage compared to 24 h storage. The number of detected odor active compounds was reduced by half, and odor intensity was also decreased by 2~3 degrees. Considering the factors of repeated use, usability and price, a PET bag covered with a black plastic bag was the most appropriate approach for odor sampling in an automobile interior.
동절기 엽수 관리는 딸기 재배 농가마다 상이한데 촉성 작형으로 ‘설향’을 토경 재배할 때 동절기 엽수 조절이 딸기 수량 및 과실 당도에 미치는 영향을 2작기 (2013-2014년 및 2014-2015년)에 걸쳐 검토하였다. 12월 상순에서 2월 하순 사이에 엽수를 성엽을 기준으로 6매 및 9매를 남기고 주기적으로 적엽하거나 노화되어 황화된 엽만 제거한 무적엽 처리구를 두어 실험하였다. 2014-2015년 작기에서 엽수를 6매 및 9매를 남기고 적엽한 처리구와 비교하여 무적엽 처리구에서 2월 하순까지의 조기 상품과 수량 및 상품과 총수량이 유의하게 높았다. 가용성 고형물 함량은 동절기 엽수 조절에 따라 1-3월 사이에 처리구간에 유의한 차이를 보였는데, 무적엽 처리구에서 가장 높았으며 수확 전기간 평균 12oBrix 내외로 안정적이었다. 따라서, 동절기에는 부족한 일조량과 단일 조건으로 충분한 동화산물의 생산이 어렵기 때문에, 노화엽과 이병엽을 제외하고 최소한으로 적엽하여 관리하는 것이 딸기 과실 수량과 품질을 향상시킬 수 있을 것을 판단된다.
