        This study investigated the methods of effectively removing noises in the acoustic data collected from the cold water zone of the East Sea, and converted that data into NASC values for comparison and analysis. First, the noises accompanying the acoustic data were divided into background noise, impulse noise, transient noise and attenuated signals according to the pattern characteristics. Then, the NASC values before and after noise removal were compared. As a result, the background noises were found to show the highest difference of 6,946 times in the NASC values before and after removal. The attenuated signals showed that the NASC values were higher after the removal.

        This study calculated the on-site measurement (Tier 4) of greenhouse gases emitted during the production stage of major fishing periods that utilize set nets and bamboo weir fishing boats. In addition, using theoretically calculated results (Tier 1), the emission factor presented by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was comparatively analyzed. On average, carbon emissions for each operating period in the bamboo weir and set net were calculated to be 0.16 and 3.58 kg CO2 time -1 , respectively; and the measurement values (Tier 4) for each tool were about 4-17 times lower than their respective theoretical values (Tier 1). Significant differences were found based on engine performance. As port entry, port departure, and operating periods of the vessels show negligible variation with short distances, the operation of the vessel engine was considered as the main variable for carbon emissions in anchovy set net fishing.

        국내 지진 발생의 빈도는 점차 증가하는 추세에 있으며, 포항지진(5.4 규모)은 진앙지와 주민 거주지가 가까워 피해 가 심각했는데 건물의 외장재가 떨어져 차량 등에 2차 피해가 발생하여 건물 외장재 안전에 대한 우려가 커지고 있는 실정이 다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비구조 요소 중 커튼월의 동적 내진성능평가 규격에 대한 세계 각 국의 규준을 고찰하고 이 중에서 가장 널리 통용되는 AAMA501. 6-18에 따라 그 동적 내진성능을 평가하고자 한다. 또한, 본 연구에서 수행한 3축 동적 지진파 대응 가능 커튼월 시스템 실험을 통해 지진에 대한 2차 피해 방지를 위한 내진 커튼월 설계시공지침 개발에 기초적 자료로 제 공하고자 한다.

        Seoul has installed mechanical air filters in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems of city buses to improve their indoor air quality since late 2019. We evaluated particle removal efficiencies of the filter in a wind tunnel, and clean air delivery rates (CADRs) of the systems and a household air purifier in the buses, following the test standards. The filter showed the efficiencies of 91% and 97.6%, 88% and 97.9%, and 78% and 95.2% for 0.35 μm particles and PM2.5 at 1.0m/s, 1.5m/s, and 2.0m/s, respectively. The efficiencies rose with an increase in the particle size and the filters had a minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) rating of 15. The CADRs for PM2.5 and flow rate of the systems were 12.7m3/min and 17.9m3/min, 16.6m3/min and 25.4m3/min, 18.7m3/min and 33.6m3/min, and 23.3m3/min and 47.1m3/min on the operation mode of 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The CADRs of the systems were 3.8-7.1 times higher than those of the air purifier, but single-pass removal efficiencies of the former were 0.56-0.81 lower than those of the latter.

        This mini-review focused on the current advances in the development and the application of the antibacterial agents produced from probiotics strains against foodborne pathogens. Inhibitory activity of the pathogen growth could be achieved by co-culture with probiotics and/or the treatment of metabolites extracted from probiotics culture, whereas strain-dependent efficacy was mainly reported according to the bacterial species of the target pathogens. To overcome the limited antibacterial spectrum and the efficacy of the metabolites from probiotics, the recent research highlight the discovery of novel bioactive substances with broad range of the inhibitory activity of foodborne pathogens and mode-of-action which has not been reported as the major research goal. Moreover, understanding the distribution of functional and regulation genes coding the production of the antibacterial metabolites based on the bacterial genome analysis can provide the clues for the mechanisms of the pathogen control by using probiotics. Major strategies on the application of the genomics in this research area can be represented as follows: 1) functional annotation specialized for antimicrobial proteins, 2) assessment of the antibacterial effects followed by the general/functional annotation, 3) genome and metabolites analysis for the purification of antimicrobial proteins, 4) comparative genomics and the characterization of antimicrobial potential. Especially the relationship between phenotype-genotype based on genomic bioinformation with the results of the practical efficacy tests of bacterial metabolites as an active substance of disinfectants and/or preservatives can be expected to act as supportive research for broadening our knowledge regarding the key metabolic pathways associated with the production of antibacterials from probiotics.

        Density and sound speed contrasts (g and h , respectively), and swimming angle were measured for sandfish (Arctoscopus japonicus) without swimbladder. The density contrast was measured by the volume displacement method while the sound speed contrast was measured by the acoustic measurements of travel time (time-of-flight method). The swimming angle was measured by dividing it into daytime, nighttime, daytime feeding and nighttime feeding. The g was 1.001 to 1.067 with an average (± standard deviation) of 1.032 (± 0.017), and the h was 1.007 to 1.022 with an average (± standard deviation) of 1.015 (± 0.003). The swimming angles (mean ± standard deviation) were 16.8 ± 10.3° during the daytime, 1.9 ± 12.3° during the nighttime, 30.2 ± 12.6° in the daytime feeding and 35.0 ± 13.2° in the nighttime feeding. These results will provide important parameters input to calculate theoretical scattering models for estimating the acoustic target strength of sandfish.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the microbiological and physicochemical changes on packaged tofu stored at temperatures of 5, 13, 23, and 30oC, and measure the consumable period from the expiry date to ultimately evaluate the microbiological safety on the extension of the consumable period. From the investigation, the pH value of tofu at each storage temperature (5, 13, and 23oC) showed a slight decrease over the storage period, although there was no significant change. The hardness of packaged tofu decreased more rapidly as temperature and storage time increased and the tofu started to show signs of decomposition at the same time. Analysis on the microbial change of tofu at different storage temperature revealed that the number of general bacteria also increased as the temperature increased. It was further found that packaged tofu takes 25 days at 5oC, 7 days at 13oC, and 1 day at 23oC from the expiry date until the general bacteria count is at least at the early decomposition level which is 10oC log CFU/g. However, no coliform bacteria was detected from tofu after storing at 5, 13 and 23oC. When packaged tofu was stored at 5oC, the L value changed significantly after 26 days, whereas the a and b values showed no significant change during the storage period (P>0.05). When storing tofu at 13oC and 23oC the L value decreased after 8 and 3 days, respectively. However, both a and b values increased (P<0.05).

        2022년 4월 현재 우리나라에는 59명의 사형확정자가 있다. 55명은 민간교정시설 에 분산되어 수용 중이고, 4명은 군(軍)교정시설인 국군교도소에 수용 중이다. 사형확 정자라는 법적인 신분을 가지고 있는 것은 동일하나, 민간 사형확정자와 군(軍)사형확 정자는 여러 면에서 다른 점을 보이고 있다. 법률적인 면에서는 「형사소송법」- 「군사법원법」, 「형집행법」- 「군형집행법」, 「형 법」- 「군형법」 등이 각각 적용되어 사형 방법 및 이송 등이 다른 특징이 있다. 수용 생활적인 면에서는 독거 및 혼거수용의 법적 원칙과 교육이나 의료 제공에서의 상이 한 점이 있었다. 범죄적인 면에서는 민간 사형확정자에 비해 군(軍)사형확정자에 범행 의 수단, 장소, 대상 등이 매우 한정적인 특징을 보였다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 ‘군(軍)사형확정자의 법적 지위의 정립, 민간교정시설로의 이송 확대, 사형방법을 평시 총살형에서 교수형으로의 개선, 2022년 7월 1일부 시행 되는 군사법원법 개정에 따른 조치, 범죄의 특성을 고려한 특별감형’에 대한 사회적 논의가 필요하며, 이를 통해 군(軍)사형확정자의 안정된 수용생활과 인권이 향상되길 기대한다.
