        Algae-related taste and odor problems are recognized by the water community worldwide to be major causes of consumer complaints and a loss in confidence of drinking water safety by the general public. Such problems can be arisen by natural and anthropogenic means, even by drinking water treatment processes. Microorganism is a common cause of naturally produced taste and odor. In this connection, the role of microorganisms and their metabolites are reviewed in the viewpoint of taste and odor in drinking water supplies.

        Carbon biomass of plankton community, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Chlorophyll a (chl.a) concentration were examined in the SeoNakdong river from January to December in 2014, to assess composition of phyto- and zoo-plankton variation, to certify the correlation between chl.a and TOC and to determine the level of contribution of plankton carbon content to TOC in the reservoir-river ecosystem. The correlation level between TOC and chl.a was low in the year 2014 but exceptionally was highly correlated only during the period with cyanobacterial bloom. The high level of contribution of plankton carbon content to TOC was attributed to cyanobacterial carbon biomass from May to November and to Cladocera carbon biomass from March to May, November and December despite of its low abundance. These results suggest that there were inter-relationships between phytoplankton, zooplankton and TOC and also subtle consistency of their properties through the year. These patterns should be discussed in relation to the physiochemical and biological characteristics of the environment, as well as to allochthonous organic matters from non-point pollution sources.

        A 31-year-old woman was transferred because of dyspnea that occurred immediately after cesarean section. Initial echocar-diography showed akinesia in apex to mid left ventricular (LV) wall with severe LV systolic dysfunction, which was pre-sumed to be stress-induced cardiomyopathy. Because the patient developed cardiogenic shock, we initially planned on inser-tion of an intra-aortic balloon pump. However, due to aggravation of cardiogenic shock and pulmonary edema, we had to resort to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for cardiopulmonary support. In addition, an LV pigtail catheter was applied for decompressing the LV. Finally, she was successfully weaned from ECMO after recovery of LV function.

        수집한 장류 시료에서 분리한 균주들을 CMC를 함유하는 배지에 접종하여 섬유소 분해 활성이 우수한 4-1 균주를 선발하였다. 4-1 균주의 16S rRNA 염기서열을 분석한 결과, B. subtilis로 동정되었다. B. subtilis 4-1의 효소생산을 위한 최적 배양조건은 탄소원으로 1.0% soluble starch와 질소원으로 0.1% yeast extract를 첨가하여 45℃에서 24시간 배양하였을 때로 나타났다. 최적 배양 pH를 조사한 결과, pH 5.0~9.0에서 cellulase 효소활성이 높았다. B. subtilis 4-1의 조효소 특성은 효소반응의 최적 pH가 pH 9.0, 반응온도는 60℃에서 효소활성이 가장 높았으며, 20~90℃ 온도에서 60분간 열처리시 효소 활성이 80%이상 유지되었다. 따라서 B. subtilis 4-1에 의해 생산되는 cellulase는 내알칼리성 효소로 추정되며, 높은 열에도 안정한 것으로 나타났다. B. subtilis 4-1이 생산하는 cellulase는 CMC에 가장 높은 효소활성을 나타내었으며 avicel과 pNPG에서도 활성을 보여 복합효소로 생각된다.

        음악 교육의 본질은 심미적 경험에 있다. 심미적 음악 감상 수업은 전인 교육의 목표에 부합하며 창의적 인재 육성이라는 시대적 요청에 부응하여 강화될 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 우리나라 학교 음악 교육의 현실에 비추어 학생들에게 질적으로 심화된 음악 경험을 제공하기 위한 대안으로 프로젝트 형 음악 감상 수업 모형을 개발한다. 교육과정에서 현대 음악 레퍼토리와의 접촉이 부족함을 고려하여 20세기 실내악 작품들을 제재곡으로 선정하고, 소리와 리듬에 대한 탐구에 중점을 두어 학생들이 음악의 개념 이해를 통한 예술적 체험에 이르도록 하는 것이 연구의 목적이다.

        For the proposal of Microcystis aeruginosa control technique by coagulants, removal effects of coagulants were carried out using isolated strain and collected water bloom of M. aeruginosa on Downstream of the Nakdong River. Both of purified and field-collected M. aeruginosa were entirely sedimented by the addition of the coagulant Ceramic-Zeolite type Co 100 (1.5 ㎎/ℓ) within 24 hr, but Yellow loess (10 ㎎/ℓ) was less effective for the removal of M. aeruginosa within 24hr. Thus it was concluded that Ceramic-Zeolite type Co 100 was the most effective coagulant.
