This paper analyzes more than 150 buzzwords from 2010 to 2020. The examples of Chinese catchphrases involved in this study are derived from Chewing Words. These buzzwords and examples are mainly selected from People’s Daily and China Daily. Based on the conceptual metaphor theory and the conceptual hybrid theory, this paper attempts to conduct cognitive research on Chinese metaphorical buzzwords, including their classification, cognitive semantics and functions. On the research method, this paper adopts the combination of diachronic and synchronous research, description and interpretation, and qualitative research. This paper discusses and analyzes the cognitive mechanism, the reason of popularity and the function of metaphorical buzzwords in the process of metaphorical meaning construction. On the one hand, the analysis of these buzzwords provides realistic material for the study of metaphorical buzzwords, and also provides a new perspective for further research. On the other hand, it is expected to enhance people's understanding of some social phenomena and problems behind metaphorical buzzwords, and help to play its active role in spreading light. In the long run, the study of metaphorical catchphrases provides a useful reference for the historical evolution and future development of Chinese catchphrases.

“Fo Xi” has become popular on the Internet since the end of 2017 and attracted widespread attention. Under the framework of “Fo Xi X”, people create many “Fo Xi” expressions according to different communication contexts, such as “Fo Xi Raising Children”, “Fo Xi Chasing Stars”, “Fo Xi Employees”, etc. It is obvious that the buzzword “Fo Xi X” has significant memetic qualities. At present, domestic researches on “Fo Xi” are mostly carried out from the perspectives of communication, culture, and sociology. Although a small number of scholars have analyzed the formation and dissemination of “Fo Xi” from the perspective of linguistics such as cognition and semantics, there is no scholar who has integrated internal factors such as structural, semantic, and pragmatic features, with external factors such as subjectivity and contextualization to analyze the influence on the generation, reproduction and spread of the linguistic meme “Fo Xi X” based on memetics. From the perspective of memetic theory, this thesis makes a tentative exploration of “Fo Xi X” expression, and provides a relatively comprehensive explanation of the internal and external factors that affect the generation, reproduction and dissemination of this expression, as well as the pragmatic functions that “Fo Xi X” expression realizes in the process of communication, which supplies a reference for the application of memetics to the study of language phenomena and enriches the case study of Internet buzzwords to a certain extent.

This article studies the process of imitation and the characteristics of successful imitation from the perspective of memetics. Firstly, imitation is a linguistic phenomenon that imitates and modifies existing language forms based on the speaker's purpose to generate novel expressions. Dawkins and Blackmore define memetics as evolutionary replicons, which replicate information from one person to another through imitation. Imitation is a linguistic phenomenon that arises and spreads through imitation; At the same time, it satisfies three necessary conditions for becoming a replicon: mutation, selection, and inheritance. Therefore, imitation can be seen as a meme, establishing an interactive relationship between two concepts, paving the way for further research. Secondly, based on Heylighen's meme lifecycle, we believe that under the influence of language memes, the generation process of network language imitation has gone through four stages: assimilation of imitation sources, preservation of imitation sources, expression and production of imitation. Transfer imitation to other hosts through the internet. In the expression stage of imitation, information intention and communicative intention are the motivations for imitation expression; The similarity between imitation and source is the mechanism of imitation expression. Then the author analyzed some characteristics of successful imitation based on meme selection criteria, namely novelty, coherence, practicality, and humor. Due to these characteristics, imitation is widely spread online. This paper provides a new perspective for imitation research; This helps to better understand and appreciate imitation in online language, and also contributes to further research on imitation and online language.

With the rapid development of China's social economy, new words are emerging endlessly. Neologisms are not only an important way for foreign students to understand Chinese society and culture, but also an important way for them to learn Chinese. Therefore, they should be seen as important content that cannot be ignored in Chinese teaching. Most middle and advanced-level students still keep a positive attitude towards the use of new words. They are eager to learn new words, but they often have problems using them. This paper will explain the necessity for foreign students to learn new words and the position and role of new words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Finally, it puts forward some suggestions for the selection and teaching methods of new words in Chinese teaching.

The “fight call” in aid culture has been rapidly disseminated in China through the help of network media. In order to make the speaker understand and make better use of “call” from the linguistic point of view, the semantics and characteristics of “call” as well as the applicable objects and users of “call” are analyzed with examples. It is found that “call” can arouse the acceptor's sense of participation, highlight the color of praise, and end the text. Better satisfy the expression of novelty and conformity psychology. Internet hotspot “call” is now widely used in the network media. With the news of Sina Weibo and People's Daily as corpus and the relevant content of language contact, this paper makes corresponding analysis on the origin, semantic components and grammar of the word “call”, the category and development course of the applicable context and the popular motivation of the word.

The development of common words into catchwords, besides their own semantic evolution, is more important than the external motivation of social events. In the era of Internet media, catchwords have become the most influential discourse facts and cultural phenomena in China in recent years. The Chinese popular language “tyrant” is a word with a strong historical color. The meaning of the word has gone through several periods of development. After the last period of the last use of the new China, it gradually withdrew from the historical stage. Recently, the word “Tu Hao” is very popular on the Internet. The words “Tu Hao Jin” and “rich boyfriend” derived from it are also popular among netizens. On Wei-bo, some people even launched a “friend” with “tyrant”, which shows its popularity. Through the analysis of the Sina Wei-bo corpus, this paper combs the process of the generation, popularity and stereotype of the popular semantics of the “tyrant”, and finds that the big social events have a key influence on the evolution of the popular semantics of the “tyrant”. We try to explore the direct influence of social events on the semantic evolution of catchwords through this case, and reveal the important role of event motivations in the process of language evolution.

The combining 'adverb+noun' in Chinese sentence has been regarded as a special case which break a regular grammar rule. Regardless its conception, the combination is used frequently, and further it make a new grammar rule for itself. Based on this context, various scholars have been arguing its suitability about whether accepting new grammar rule in Chinese or not. The present study aimed two things: first, as historical approach, 'adverb+noun' was analyzed based on its birth, usual usage patterns, and types of adverb+noun used for the combination. Second, as grammar perspectives, syntax and pragmatics of the combination were articulated. As conclusion, this study discussed the direction and tips for teaching this sentence structure for accomplishing efficient pedagogical purposes.

This study was performed to investigate the change of probing and feeding behavior of Q type of B. tabaci according to the decrease of residual effect of two insecticide, emamectin and pyridaben, using EPG technique. Examined the residual activity during 20 days, pyridaben is showed longer than emamectin benzoate. When treated two insecticides onto tomato leaves with the recommended concentration through 20 days, EPG waveforms of Q type of B. tabaci was recorded during three hours compare with the characteristic patterns of feeding behavior between two insecticides such as duration of first probing time, total duration of non-probing phase, total duration of probing phase and total duration of phloem phase. Recorded result from the change in total duration of probing activity to react the two insecticides, pyridaben was showed higher the time of probing activity, however, total duration of phloem phase was appeared low activity. Total duration of phloem phase with passage of days did not show until seven days, however, and gradually increased in emamectin benzoate after 10 days. In conclusion, residual effect between two insecticides was showed more rapidly decreased in emamectin benzoate, however, feeding behavior of Q type of B. tabaci was increased.

We have analyzed the time series of Ca II H,K and ⋋8498 line profiles taken for a sunspot (SPO 5007) with the Echelle spectrograph attached to Vacuum Tower Telescope at Sacramento Peak Solar Observatory. Each set of spectra was taken simultaneously for 20 minutes at a time interval of 30 seconds. A total of 40 photographic films for each line was scanned by a PDS at Korea Astronomy Observatory. The central peak intensity of Ca II H (Imax), the intensity measured at Δ⋋=-0.1 Å from the line center of ⋋8498 (I⋋8489), the radial velocity (Vr) and the Doppler width (Δ⋋D) estimated from Ca II H have been measured to study the dynamical behaviors of the sunspot chromosphere. Fourier analysis has been carried out for these measured quantities. Our main results are as follows: (1) We have confirmed the 3-minute oscillation being dominant throughout the umbra. The period of oscillations jumps from 180 sec in the umbra to 500 to 1000 sec in the penumbra. (2) The nonlinear character of the umbral oscillation is noted from the observed sawtooth shaped radial velocity fluctuations with amplitudes reaching up to 5~6 km/sec. (3) The spatial distribution of the maximum powers shows that the power of oscillations is stronger in the umbra than in the penumbra. (4) The spatial distributions of the time averaged < Imax > and < Vr > across the spot are found to be nearly axially symmetric, implying that the physical quantities derived from the line profiles of Ca II H and ⋋8498 are inherently associated with the geometry of the magnetic field distribution of the spot. (5) The central peaks of the CaII H emission core lead the upward motions of the umbral atmosphere by 90°, while no phase delay is found in intensities between Imax and I⋋8498, suggesting that the umbral oscillation is of standing waves.
