        Recently social demand to achieve low fuel consumption and clean emission requires the development of new generation vehicle beyond the conventional vehicle concept. In this point, new generation vehicle is newly designed as electric vehicle, hybrid electric vehicle, fuel cell electric vehicle or 3 liter car etc. In order to develop new generation vehicle, it is very important to develop new materials and process technologies now. In this paper these new technologies are presented focusing on weight reduction specially. Steel body can be achieved 20-25% weight reduction by adoption of high strength steel and new process technologies, i.e tailored blank and hydroforming. Aluminium body can be achieved 40-50% weigt down by use of all aluminium monocoque body or aluminium space frame with aluminium panel. Plasitic composite body can be achieved 30% weight reduction comparing with conventional steel body.

        현재 (초)미세먼지의 주요 발생 원인이 되고 있는 질소화합물(NOx) 및 PM10, PM2.5 미세먼지 입자 제거를 위해 화물차를 비롯한 경유차에 대한 다양한 규제와 정책이 추진되고 있으나 가시적인 개선 효과가 나타나지 않아 근본적인 대책이 필요한 실정이다. 이에 관한 대책으로서 국내에서는 도로 물청소, 분진흡입, 노후 경유차 대도시 운행 제한 등을 시행하고 있으나 구체적인 저감효과에는 한계가 있어 능동적인 대응 방안을 마련이 시급한 실정이다. 또한, 도심부 도로에서 발생하는 미세먼지는 도로변을 걷는 보행자와 차량 운전자의 건강에 직접적인 영향을 주는 심각한 환경문제로 대두됨에 따라 도로변 미세먼지 저감 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 기능성 건설재료를 활용하여 도로변 미세먼지 저감 기술 개발에 관한 실증 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

        In this study, chloride penetration in a repaired concrete using magnesium polymer ceramic (MPC) was assessed based on the NT BUILD 492. To investigate the effect of repaired material on chloride penetration, a cylinder OPC concrete specimen was fabricated and attached on the surface with MPC. Then, chloride penetration test was carried out on the combined concrete sample at a constant applied voltage (30 V) for 6 hours. It was found that most of chloride sources was passed though the interface between OPC and MPC, resulting in a loss of chloride in the material. Thus, it is needed to modify the conventional chloride penetration test for the repaired concrete specimen.

        Carbon nanotube(CNT), carbon nanotube-fiber(CNT-fiber) and graphene are representative nano materials which gained much attention by the research community owing to their excellent mechanical, electrical and heat conducting properties surpassing the existing materials by far. The utilization of these properties in construction materials is being actively studied. This paper summarizes the previous studies conducted by the authors regarding the utilization of nanotechnology into construction materials.

        As environmental concerns become a critical issue in the sustainability of the steel industry, manufacturing of various kinds of glass-ceramics and related functional materials recycled from post-mortem slags has become an important topic of research. The slag composition, which was reduced and cooled using this secondary treatment is affected by the operating parameters and thermo-physical properties of the slag, and thus can provide the potential for utilization in highly value-added products such as Portland cement and high-alumina cement. To increase the applications of the reduced slag product, a new cement material as well as slag aggregates from the EAF slags were developed by controlling the composition and morphology through novel methods.

        Recently, most underground structures are used parking lot and artificial ground greening is growing on the top of the structures also. Various waterproofing-root resistance materials and methods has been developing to artificial ground greening system based on concrete structures. However, It is hard to confirm proper quality control standard of waterproofing-root resistance materials because of complicated environment and conditions of special site which is artificial ground greening. This study goals to develop a evaluaion techniques to mak sure of the long term stability waterproofing-root resistance material on artificial ground greening system.

        With the recent increased awareness of underground water as a resource and detection of radioactive material called radon in underground, underground waterproofing system is newly regard as not only ensuring stability and durability of the structure but also preserving underground water, safety of employee working underground structure, protecting of facilities and comfortable use. For these reasons, constructing industry have highly demanded feasible underground waterproofing system that responding long-life and high-performance new material and developing waterproof performance evaluation techniques. Therefore, this study attempts to build environmental responding waterproof system with high adhesive sealant material and setting a manual of field application in waterproofing construction technique.

        A highly filled wood-plastic composite member and its production has become currently an important address of research concerned with environmental issues and engineering application of structures.         In this study, three kinds of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques for the effective maintenance of underwater concrete structures are investigated: schmidt hammer-based NDE, indirect ultrasonic waves-base NDE and impact echo method using noncontact air-coupled sensing system. Currently, lots of limitations to implement these techniques to real-world structures are being considered.
