        Background: High string instrument (violin, viola) players are at high risk for developing musculoskeletal problems. In particular, a higher prevalence of shoulder problems has been reported. However, evidence of the effectiveness of therapeutic exercise for musicians with this condition is lacking until now. Objects: This case series study investigated the effect of a specific exercise program on shoulder pain, dysfunction, and posture of professional orchestral high string musicians. Methods: Five professional orchestral high string players with shoulder pain participated in this study. A six-week specific exercise program focus on scapular stability for shoulder pain consisted of scapular muscle exercise. Physical examinations for pain and dysfunction, posture were performed, were identified among all subjects before starting the exercise program. Results: The results revealed that shoulder pain decreased by 67.86% and the effect of pain on instrument play decreased by 63.33%. The shoulder pain and disability Index and the performing arts module-quick disability of the arm, shoulder and hand scale decreased by 71.72% and 51.61% respectively. The exercise program improved function and posture. Conclusion: A specific exercise program for high string players was effective in managing shoulder pain. This case series is intended to provide empirical data on the effectiveness of an exercise program aimed at assessing the effect of exercise on pain, dysfunction, and posture of professional orchestra musicians associated with specific instrument groups.

        목적 : 본 연구는 중심부 암점을 가진 환자에게 한글 기반의 중심외보기 훈련 소프트웨어를 적용하여 그 효과성을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : ABA 단일대상연구(single-subject research design) 설계를 위해 중심부 암점을 가진 2명의 환자에게 훈련 전후 기초선 각 3회기, 중심외보기 훈련은 8회기를 시행하였다. 매회기 훈련 종료 후에 단문읽기속도를 측정하였고, 훈련전과 훈련 후에 일기활동 능력을 평가하기 위하여 캐나다작업수행측정(Canadian Occupational Performance Measure; COPM)와 운동처리기술평가(Assessment of Motor and Process Skills; AMPS)를 시행하였다. 결과 : 중심외보기 훈련 결과 대상자 모두의 읽기속도가 훈련 전보다 훈련 후에 2표준편차 이상 증가하였고, 특히 훈련 2-3회기에 큰 증가세를 나타냈다. 전반적인 일상생활활동 능력에서는 훈련 전후 변화가 없었으나, 읽기와 관련된 활동에서는 의미있는 향상을 나타냈다. 결론 : 본 연구를 통하여 한글기반의 중심외보기 훈련 프로그램이 중심부 암점을 갖고 있는 환자의 읽기활동 수행 수준을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였고, 국내 임상현장에서 적용할 근거를 마련하였다.

        Laminated composite structures have started to play a very significant role in primary and secondary structural weight savings in high performance automobile industries. However, one of the main challenges in implementing these composites is the lack of understanding of the progress of the damage under various loading conditions. In order to understand the influence of design parameters related to the use of composite materials, a proper study of the laminated composite structures requires a complete failure analysis, which includes both initiation and propagation of damage. In this study, a new damage model was developed to predict the progressive damage of the composite, and the progress of damage was investigated by making center-notch and open-hole tensile test specimens for various lay-ups. The simulations, in agreement with experimental tests, indicate that the model is capable of predicting the failure load in open hole composite structures.

        There always exist nonzero inspection errors whether inspectors are humans or automatic inspection machines. Inspection errors can be categorized by two types, type I error and type II error, and they can be regarded as either a constant or a random variable. Under the assumption that two types of random inspection errors are distributed with the “uniform” distribution on a half-open interval starting from zero, it was proved that inspectors overestimate any given fraction defective with the probability more than 50%, if and only if the given fraction defective is smaller than a critical value, which depends upon only the ratio of a type II error over a type I error. In addition, it was also proved that the probability of overestimation approaches one hundred percent as a given fraction defective approaches zero. If these critical phenomena hold true for any error distribution, then it might have great economic impact on commercial inspection plans due to the unfair overestimation and the recent trend of decreasing fraction defectives in industry. In this paper, we deal with the same overestimation problem, but assume a “symmetrical triangular” distribution expecting better results since our triangular distribution is closer to a normal distribution than the uniform distribution. It turns out that the overestimation phenomenon still holds true even for the triangular error distribution.

        Background: Hemispatial neglect is defined as the failure to attend, report, respond, or orient toward meaningful stimuli provided in the contralateral side of a brain lesion. Objects: This study was conducted to find out the effect of dynamic trunk equilibirum exercise for stroke patients with hemi-spatial neglect. Methods: This study included 21 stroke subjects, randomly assigned to either the experimental group or the control group. The exercise program consisted of 5 sessions of 20 minutes per week during 4 weeks. The line-bisection test, the Albert test, the balance function score, the Berg balance scale, the postural assessment scale for stroke and the modified Barthel index were measured before and after training. All data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 for Windows. Between-group and within-group comparison was analyzed by using Independent t-test and Paired t-test respectively. Results: The results of study were as follows: There were significant differences between before and after intervention in both group (p<.05). There were significant differences in the line-bisection test, Albert test, balance function score, Berg balance scale, postural assessment scale for stroke and modified Barthel index between the experimental group and the control group (p<.05). Conclusion: Dynamic trunk equilibrium exercise had a positive effect on patients’ neglect, balance ability and activities of daily living. Further studies are required to generalize the results of this study.

        Anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) have attracted a growing interest as an alternative for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). AEMs are the most important components of AEMFCs, and it’s a great challenge to attain high ion conductivity, good dimensional, mechanical and alkaline stabilities for AEMs. We prepared poly(ether sulfone ketone)s having various hydrophilic-hydrophobic block ratios, and investigated the effect of the block composition on the chemo-physical properties of the corresponding membranes. The experimental procedures and the properties, including conductivity, morphology and stability will be discussed in detail.

        Anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) have been considered as a promising energy device. To make highly efficient AEMs, high ion conductivity, mechanical stabilities and alkaline stabilities are required. High ion conductivity generally accompanies poor mechanical properties, and crosslinking has been widely applied to overcome these problems. Our groups introduced novel terminally-crosslinked piperidinium-functionalized poly(arylene ether sulfone)s as a anion exchange membrane. Unlike the typical AEMs, our terminally-crosslinked membranes are expected to have high conductivity, especially at low RH conditions due to enhanced water-holding capacity, while maintaining the high chemophyscial stabilities by crosslinking. The synthesis, and properties of the prepared membranes will be discussed in detail.

        Saline water electrolysis is a representative electrochemical conversion to produce chlorine gas and sodium hydroxide as major products by applying electric power. Perfluorinated sulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomers have been usually used as polymer electrolyte membrane materials owing to high sodium ion selectivity and strong resistance to acidic compounds (e.g., Cl2, HCl and so on) produced in anode. However, PFSA ionomers have been suffering from chemical degradation occurring when exposed under harsh basic condition in cathode. In this study, double layered chlor-alkali membranes were prepared by anchoring crosslinked hydrocarbon ionomer via radical polymerization technique in water channels located in a surface layer of PFSA ionomer membranes and electrochemically evaluated.

        This papers focuses on remanufacturing processes in a closed loop supply chain. The remanufacturing processes is considered as one of the effective strategies for enterprises’ sustainability. For this reason, a lot of companies have attempted to apply remanufacturing related methods to their manufacturing processes. While many research studies focused on the return rate for remanufacturing parts as a control parameter, the relationship with demand certainties has been studied less comparatively. This paper considers a closed loop supply chain environment with remanufacturing processes, where highly fluctuating demands are embedded. While other research studies capture uncertainties using probability theories, highly fluctuating demands are modeled using a fuzzy logic based ambiguity based modeling framework. The previous studies on the remanufacturing have been limited in solving the actual supply chain management situation and issues by analyzing the various situations and variables constituting the supply chain model in a linear relationship. In order to overcome these limitations, this papers considers that the relationship between price and demand is nonlinear. In order to interpret the relationship between demand and price, a new price elasticity of demand is modeled using a fuzzy based nonlinear function and analyzed. This papers contributes to setup and to provide an effective price strategy reflecting highly demand uncertainties in the closed loop supply chain management with remanufacturing processes. Also, this papers present various procedures and analytical methods for constructing accurate parameter and membership functions that deal with extended uncertainty through fuzzy logic system based modeling rather than existing probability distribution based uncertainty modeling.

        본 연구에서는 전도성 고분자인 polystyrene sulfonic acid doped poly~3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT:PSS)을 소스/드레인 전극으로 사용한 펜타센 단분자 유기 반도체 기반의 전계효과 트랜지스터를 제작하고, 금을 소스/드레인 전극으로 하는 기준소자와 전기적 특성을 비교하여 평가하였다. 전기적 특성을 측정한 결과, PEDOT:PSS 박막은 금 박막에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 전도도를 가짐에도 불구하고 PEDOT:PSS 소스/드레인 전극을 갖는 펜타센 유기 트랜지스터는 금을 소스/드레인 전극으로 갖는 기준 소자와 비교할 만한 성능을 보였다. 이는 PEDOT:PSS와 펜타센 사이의 접촉저항이 금과 펜타센 사이의 접촉저항보다 낮아 상대적으로 낮은 전기전도도에 의한 성능 저하를 보상하기 때문으로 추측된다.

        An all-silica deca-dodecasil 3R (Si-DDR) zeolite with a pore size of 0.36*0.44 nm2 is highly desirable for membrane-based separation of CO2 from N2, which critical in the post-combustion carbon capture process, via molecular recognition of their slight size difference. For the first time, we acquired h0h-oriented, hydrophobic DDR zeolite films through epitaxial growth of a DDR seed layer with a structure directing agent of methyltropinium iodide. The degree of the out-of-plane orientation and inter-growth was increased with the secondary growth time, while reducing the defects that provide non-selective pathways. The resulting DDR membrane showed a CO2/N2 separation factor (SF) as high as 11.9 at 50°C under dry conditions. More desirably, it could achieve a much enhanced CO2/N2 SF of up to 15.9 at 50°C in the presence of H2O vapor.

        포인세티아 ‘Red Elf’는 국립원예특작과학원에서 2014년에 육성한 품종이다. 진한 적색의 ‘Max Red’와 분홍색의 주름이 많은 상향성의 포엽을 가진 ‘Pink Elf’를 2010년에 교배하여 획 득한 실생 계통을 선발하여 육성한 품종이다. 2012년부터 2013년까지 생육특성, 개화특성, 균일성에 대하여 1, 2차 특성 검정을 실시하였다. 2014년에 3차 특성검정을 실시하여 최종 선발하였으며, 직무육성품종심의회에 상정하여 ‘Red Elf’로 명 명하였다. ‘Red Elf’품종은 적색의 상향성인 포엽과 열편이 거 의 없는 착색엽이 우수한 화형을 형성한다. 초장이 작고 엽병 이 짧은 잎몸을 가진 줄기의 발생이 많아서 균형 잡힌 수형을 이룬다. 단일 처리 후 약 8주가 경과하면 완전히 착색되어 출 하가 가능하다. 이 품종은 2016년 3월 17일에 국립종자원에 품종등록(등록번호 5953호)되었다.

        The fracture of mechanical structure is caused by internal cracks in the material. Particularly, the fracture can also be seen to happen under the stress that is lower than yield strength in case of high strength steel because of the crack happening from the defect inside the material. In this study, high strength steel with four holes near the center crack were designed by angle and fatigue experiments, and the simulation analyses to verify the experimental results were carried out. As the results of this study, the crack growth rates are shown to be 0.000485, 0.000434 and 0.000422 respectively at the inclined angles of center crack as 22.5°, 45° and 67.5°. The maximum deformation energies become 0.0848mJ, 0.0603mJ and 0.0582mJ respectively at the inclined angles of center crack as 22.5°, 45° and 67.5°. It is thought that this study result can be utilized as the basic data at the study on the material existing with the defects of crack and hole.

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the distribution of Candida species in patients with oral disease and clarify the distinction of Candida culture test according to its isolation technique. 75 samples was isolated from 42 patients who visited Chonnam National University Dental Hospital due to oral disease from December 2015 to August 2016. For isolating the candida sampling, saliva sampling and oral swabbing were used. Acquired sampling was cultured in CHROMagar Candida Culture Medium, which indicates the candida species as color. Of the 42 patients, C. albicans was the most frequently isolated species in 39 patients. For 17 patients out of 21 who underwent saliva sampling and oral swabbing simultaneously, oral swabbing was quantitatively underestimated comparing to saliva sampling. 12 samples in 21 samples having particular Candida species were not isolated by oral swabbing. Considering the possibility of fungal infection in various oral disease, it is recommended to perform not only oral swabbing but saliva sampling when isolating Candida.
