        The purpose of this study is to develop a new seismic resistant method by using precast concrete wall panels for existing low-rise, reinforced concrete beam-column buildings such as school buildings. Three quasi-static hysteresis loading tests were experimentally performed on one unreinforced beam-column specimen and two reinforced specimens with L-type precast wall panels. The results were analyzed to find that the specimen with anchored connection experienced shear failure, while the other specimen with steel plate connection principally manifested flexural failure. The ultimate strength of the specimens was determined to be the weaker of the shear strength of top connection and flexural strength at the critical section of precast panel. In this setup of L-type panel specimens, if a push loading is applied to the reinforced concrete column on one side and push the precast concrete panel, a pull loading from upper shear connection is to be applied to the other side of the top shear connection of precast panel. Since the composite flexural behavior of the two members govern the total behavior during the push loading process, the ultimate horizontal resistance of this specimen was not directly influenced by shear strength at the top connection of precast panel. However, the RC column and PC wall panel member mainly exhibited non-composite behavior during the pull loading process. The ultimate horizontal resistance was directly influenced by the shear strength of top connection because the pull loading from the beam applied directly to the upper shear connection. The analytical result for the internal shear resistance at the connection pursuant to the anchor shear design of ACI 318M-11 Appendix-D except for the equation to predict the concrete breakout failure strength at the concrete side, principally agreed with the experimental result based on the elastic analysis of Midas-Zen by using the largest loading from experiment.

        GRP pipe (Glass-fiber Reinforced Plastic Pipe) lines making use of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) are generally thinner, lighter, and stronger than the existing concrete or steel pipe lines, and it is excellent in stiffness/strength per unit weight. In this study, we present the result of field test for buried GRP pipes with large diameter(2,400mm). The vertical and horizontal ring deflections are measured for 387 days. The short-term deflection measured by the field test is compared with the result predicted by the Iowa formula. In addition, the long-term ring deflection is predicted by using the procedure suggested in ASTM D 5365(ANNEX) in the range of 40 to 60 years of service life of the pipe based on the experimental results. From the study, it was found that the long-term vertical and horizontal ring deflection up to 60 years is less than the 5% ring deflection limitation.

        This study aims at developing a new seismic resistant method by using precast concrete wall panels for existing low-rise, reinforced concrete beam-column buildings such as school buildings. Three quasi-static hysteresis loading tests were performed on one unreinforced beam-column specimen and two reinforced specimens with U-type precast wall panels. Top shear connection of the PC panel was required to show the composite strength of RC column and PC wall panel. However, the strength of the connection did not influence directly on the ultimate loading capacities of the specimens in the positive loading because the loaded RC column push the side of PC wall panel and it moved horizontally before the shear connector receive the concentrated shear force in the positive loading process. Under the positive loading sequence(push loading), the reinforced concrete column and PC panel showed flexural strength which is larger than 97% of the composite section because of the rigid binding at the top of precast panel. Similar load-deformation relationship and ultimated horizontal load capacities were shown in the test of PR1-LA and PR1-LP specimens because they have same section dimension and detail at the flexural critical section. An average of 4.7 times increase in the positive maximum loading(average 967kN) and 2.7 times increase in the negative maximum loading(average 592.5kN) had resulted from the test of seismic resistant specimens with anchored and welded steel plate connections than that of unreinforced beam-column specimen. The maximum drift ratios were also shown between 1.0% and 1.4%.

        In this study, effect of core-shell structure on compaction behavior of harmonic powder is investigated. Harmonic powders are made by electroless plating method on Fe powders. Softer Cu shell encloses harder Fe core, and the average size of Fe core and thickness of Cu shell are 34.3 μm and 3.2 μm, respectively. The powder compaction procedure is processed with pressure of 600 MPa in a cylindrical die. Due to the low strength of Cu shell regions, the harmonic powders show better densification behavior compared with pure Fe powders. Finite element method (FEM) is performed to understand the roll of core-shell structure. Based on stress and strain distributions of FEM results, it is concluded that the early stage of powder compaction of harmonic powders mainly occurs at the shell region. FEM results also well predict porosity of compacted materials.

        Prestressed concrete PSC girders are efficient in terms of structural performance, economical efficiency and constructability. However, PSC girders have overtuning risk in construction in which extra work needs to protect. The low center of gravity girder (MPC girder) is more stable and easier to construct than the traditional PSC girder, which has tweaked end point and mono-tendon anchor. In this study, we evaluated the structural advantages in the deflection (slope) and stress on the link slab by using the finite element method. As a result, it was found that the reinforcement in the link slab for the bridge continuation may be reduced because of less displacement.

        기계 구조물에서 부재의 결합부가 시스템 전체의 동적 거동에 매우 심각한 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 동적인 응답의 정확한 예측은 이러한 결합부를 어떻게 모델링 하느냐에 달려 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 본 논문에서는 결합부의 유연성을 정량적으로 표현하기 위하여 서로 대칭이고 마주보는 외팔보의 중앙에 선형 및 비틀림 스프링을 결합부에 이식하였다. 이를 바탕으로 결합부의 강성 변화에 따른 시스템의 재해석은 축약법과 유한요소법으로 계산하였다. 이항 급수로 표현되는 기저벡터의 수에 따라서 전체 모델의 크기는 획기적으로 감소되어 축약 모델로 매우 짧은 시간에 효율적으로 계산할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 두 가지 경우의 수치해석 예가 제시되어 축약 모델의 결과가 정밀해와 잘 일치함을 보여주고 있다.

        An experimental study on the structural behavior of connection types between approach slab and integral abutment has been done for three typical bar connections. Typical hinge style reinforcing bar detail for its connection is preferred in order to accommodate rotation of the approach slab among engineers. However, the straight horizontal bars can be used as connection detail accomodate structural capacity. Total six specimens with three types of rebar detail are tested for direct tensile and bending load. The characteristic structural behaviors are carefully monitored and all the strain gauge data obtained are analyzed. It is shown that the structural performance of all the specimens well exceed its design allowance. Several design suggestions are given based on careful reviews on the experiment.

        Due to rapid urbanization and industrialization, water supply and sewer line systems are also developed relevantly. Manhole is an essential component structure of the pipeline system. Manhole is a structure constructed to accommodate the direction, dimension, differences in level, and easy of maintenance in the pipeline system. In this paper we present the result of investigations pertaining to the structural behavior of PVC sewer manhole buried underground. In the paper mechanical properties of PVC material are reported. In addition, by the finite element analysis (FEA), we confirmed that a PVC double-wall corrugated pipe manhole, when it is buried underground, is safe for the stress as well as buckling strength if the manhole is constructed within the suggested limit of buried depth.

        본 연구에서는 고정기초, 기초면진, 및 최상층에 TMD가 설치된 기초면진 구조물에 풍하중이 작용하는 경우에 구조물의 동적 거동을 해석하는 프로그램을 개발하여 면진장치가 풍하중이 작용하는 구조물의 동적거동에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 한다. 난기류 스펙트럼을 이용하여 구조물에 작용하는 바람을 실제와 유사하도록 생성한 풍하중을 해석에 적용한다. 기초면진 장치가 구조물의 동적 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 풍하중이 작용하는 경우 기초면진이 설치된 구조물에서 TMD의 동적 제어 효과에 대하여 분석하고자 한다.

        To inject CO2 in geological formations, deep wells that penetrate the formations need to be constructed. The seal integrity of deep wells for CO2 leakage are enhanced by annulus cements. By injecting CO2, brine in formations can be carbonated and the potential degradation of annulus cement in the carbonated brine has been brought up. In this paper, Type G oil well cement (OWC) pastes are hydrated for 28 days. Conditions of geosequestration in a sandstone formation at a depth of roughly 1 km, was simulated by bubbling CO2 into a heated vessel containing brine. The hydrated OWC cylindrical specimens were exposed to this environment. Slices of the cement specimen were taken periodically, during and after exposure to quantify degradation progression. The elastic modulus of the specimens was examined prior to and after exposure. After 28 days of exposure, the degraded depth of specimen was measured as 4.137 mm. The elastic modulus of the specimens was measured as 2.2 GPa and 3.2 GPa prior to and after exposure respectively. Considering a composite action in the partially degraded specimen, the elastic modulus of degraded part can be extracted. The results indicated that the difference of elastic modulus in the partially degraded annulus cements could occur a composite action of deep wells subject to axial load and shear cracks would be generated due to the composite action.

        The floating PV generation structure installed on the surface of water has been recently issued as a representative items for the low carbon and green growth campaign. Moreover, the studies and developments for the structure and construction improvements of floating PV generation structure have been in progress. For example, in the previous research, the floating PV generation structure consisted of pultruded FRP and SMC FRP members is suggested. In this study, we conduct the analytical and experimental studies for estimating the structural characteristics of SMC FRP vertical members. From the analytical and experimental results, it is found that SMC FRP vertical members used for floating PV generation structure have sufficient structural safety and stability.

        PURPOSES : This study estimated an asphalt pavement internal behavior under uphill lanes considering reducing speed of heavy truck on uphill slope. METHODS : Truck performance curve which has been adapted to "Korea Highway Capacity Manual" was analyzed. And asphalt pavement internal behaviors were estimated with Multi-layered elastic analysis using KPRP(Korea Pavement Research Program) dynamic modulus prediction equations. RESULTS : As a result, it is shown that when the standard truck drives 2.0 km at a speed of 80 km/h in 8% climbing slope, it's speed reduced to 25.4 km/h, at same time frequency in asphalt layer decrease to 67.2% and it's dynamic modulus degrades to 30.9%. Based on these results, internal behavior as decreasing vehicle speed on uphill lanes were estimated. CONCLUSIONS : From the results of Multi-layered elastic analysis, internal behavior showed that when the standard truck drives 2.0 km at a speed of 80 km/h in 8% slope on uphill lanes, vertical strain was increased to 44.4% at the bottom of surface course, and lateral tensile strain was increased to 20.5% at the bottom of base course.

        Fe-based amorphous coatings were fabricated on a soda-lime glass substrate by the vacuum kinetic spray method. The effect of the gas flow rate, which determines particle velocity, on the deposition behavior of the particle and microstructure of the resultant films was investigated. The as-fabricated microstructure of the film was studied by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). Although the activation energy for transformation from the amorphous phase to crystalline phase was lowered by severe plastic deformation and particle fracturing under a high strain rate, the crystalline phases could not be found in the coating layer. Incompletely fractured and small fragments 100~300 nm in size, which are smaller than initial feedstock material, were found on the coating surface and inside of the coating. Also, some pores and voids occurred between particle-particle interfaces. In the case of brittle Fe-based amorphous alloy, particles fail in fragmentation fracture mode through initiation and propagation of the numerous small cracks rather than shear fracture mode under compressive stress. It could be deduced that amorphous alloy underwent particle fracturing in a vacuum kinetic spray process. Also, it is considered that surface energy caused by the formation of new surfaces and friction energy contributed to the bonding of fragments.

        본 논문에서는 반강접을 고려한 프레임 구조에서 강재 탄성계수의 불확실성이 프레임 구조의 비선형거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 강재 탄성계수의 불확실성의 확률분포는 정규분포로 모델링 하였으며, 이러한 확률적 물성치를 반강접 프레임의 비선형 거동에 적용할 수 있는 해석 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프레임의 비선형 거동 인수인 기하학적 비선형, 재료적 비선형, 그리고 접합부의 반강접에 의한 비선형 효과를 고려하여, Monte Carlo Simulation에 기반한 확률론적 해석을 수행하였다. 확률론적 해석을 위해 확률변수를 세 종류로 생성하여 사용하였다. 확정론적 해석의 결과는 기존의 연구 결과와 잘 일치하는 결과를 보였다. 확률론적 해석의 경우, 변위의 분산계수는 구조에 작용하는 하중이 증가함에 따라 증가하는 결과를 나타냈으며, 그 값은 프레임구조의 구조적 특성에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

        본 연구는 폭발에 의한 충격 하중이 작용하는 경우에 대하여 AFRP(KFRP)로 이루어진 벽체 구조의 화이버 보강각도 변화에 따른 방폭 성능 효과를 비교 제시하였다. 실제 폭발시험과 근사한 해석을 도출해내기 위해서 실제충격을 정확하게 묘사할 수 있는 구성 방정식과 상태방정식을 포함한 정교한 수치 시뮬레이션 해석을 수행하였다. 폭발에 의한 극한 충격하중과 같은 순간적인 동적인 문제를 해석하기 위하여 극도의 비선형성 해석과 고속충돌해석에 특화된 AUTODYN-3D 프로그램을 사용하여 화이버 보강 각도의 변화가 AFRP 벽체의 탄소성 거동에 미치는 영향을 상세 분석하였다.

        This study is on the seismic response of new buckling-restrained braced frames(BRBFs) with superelastic SMA bracing system. The superelastic SMA materials can return to undeformed shape without additional heat treatments only after removal of applied loads. 6-story braced frame buildings were designed in accordance with the current design specifications in order to verify the performance of such bracing systems. Based on the anlysis results, Superelastic SMA bracing systems were also compared to those with conventional steel bracing system. And at last, analysis results show that the superelastic SMA bracing systems are very effective to reduce the residual inter-story drifts.

        휨 거동 및 전단부의 전단거동으로 인한 철근상세 및 사용되어지는 철근의 과다로 인하여 취성파괴의 양상이 발생 하고 있다. 이에 본 실험에서는 유리섬유망을 이용하여 철근과의 휨 및 변위 거동을 통하여 무보강철근과 유리섬유망의 ply 수에 따른 휨거동 실험을 통하여 균열을 살펴보고서 향후 휨 거동에 적정한 유리섬유망의 철근의 배치겹수에 대한 사용량을 검토하고자 한다.

        The recently constructed buildings are ensuring seismic safety with enhanced design criteria. But, the buildings unapplied enhanced design criteria are very weak. In this study, steel grid shear wall is proposed as a solution of seismic retrofit to ensure safety of the existing buildings for the earthquake. And the structural performance experiments were carried out under axial force and cyclic lateral loads. The two specimens were made of a reference RC frame and steel grid shear wall in-filled RC frame. The test setup configured with two dynamic actuators, for the axial force with a 500kN capacity actuator and for the cyclic lateral load applied with the 2,000kN actuator. Compared with control specimen, the strength, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation capacity of the seismic retrofit structures is evaluated.

        The concrete-filled tube (CFT) column has the excellent structural performance. But it is difficult to connect with column and beam because of closed section. Its Solution, 2 members of ㄷchennel in which Internal diaphragm is installed were welded beforehand and the method of making Rectangular Steel Tube was proposed. According to upside and downside junction shape, Internal diaphragm suggested as symmetric specimen and asymmetric specimen. The upper and lower diaphragm of the Symmetric specimen used the same horizontal and The upper diaphragm of the Asymmetric specimen used the horizontal plate and the lower diaphragm used the vertically plate. In this research, 4 T-shape column to beam steps connections were tested with cyclic loading experiment in order to evaluate the structural capability of the offered connection. Symmetric specimens be a failure in 0.03rad from beam flange. And Asymmetric specimens be a failure in 0.05rad from column interface. The comparison results of All specimens shown similar to energy absorption capacity in 0.02rad.
