P/M enables the economical production of components for many kinds of gears. Functionally, the sub gear requires high tooth accuracy and bending fatigue strength. The whole tooth profile was sized after sintering to satisfy the gear tooth accuracy specification. The part was redesigned to reduce machining requirements. The required bending fatigue strength was achieved through appropriate material choice and induction of compressive residual stress by shotpeening after carburizing. The P/M sub gear replaced a forged steel gear, satisfied performance requirements, expanded the use of P/M applications and provided over 30% cost reduction.

In order to improve resistant properties of water-borne acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives(PSAs) for automobiles, this study was carried out. Removable PSAs for automobiles were synthesized by emulsion polymerization of monomers, n-butyl acrylate(BA), n-butyl methacrylate(BMA), acrylonitrile(AN), acrylic acid(AA) and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(2-HEMA), and AA and 2-HEMA could act as functional monomers for crosslink. Emulsion polymerization was carried out in a semi-batch type reactor. Water resistance, heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance and smoke resistance were examined. As a result, water resistance increased with the amount of BMA, however, the effect of BMA content on the water resistance was insignificant at a range of over 14 wt%. The water resistance also increased with the amount of functional monomers, AA and 2-HEMA. The prepared PSAs satisfied all the standard for automobiles except heat resistance. However, the heat resistance comes nearly up to the standard. Also, acid resistance, alkali resistance and smoke resistance of the prepared PSAs satisfied with the standard.

As e‐commerce in the Internet environment is settled as a main pattern of transactions among businesses, there are increasing demands for standardized B2B business models to break away from closed structure and enhance outsourcing capabilities. With the advancement of modularization, which is a major trend in the automobile parts industry, the role of finished car manufacturers has been shrunk and primary cooperative companies has been growing in their importance and company size. In this situation, it is strongly required to establish online B2B portals for cooperation with small part manufacturers. Thus the present study purposed to implement WebService by mapping existing EDI standard forms using ebXML platform, which is regarded as the international standard of B2B e-commerce. The implemented WebService facilitates interaction and integration with existing applications using REST technology, which was applied in order to solve problems in ORPC-based distributed application environment including single vendor solutions, the requirement of high‐performance environment based on management network and firewall/proxy problem.

<Objective> This study were carried out to study to assess the relationship between job characteristics, general characteristics,　health behaviors, and psychosocial distress and suggested the preventive oriental medicine approaches in occupational health area. <Methods> We measured job characteristics(job demand, job control, jop insecurity) by The Karasek's Job Content Questionnaire, health behaviors(smoking, drinking, exercise, coffee), general characteristics at work by a self-administered questionnaire. Psycho social distress was measured by PWI(Psychosocial Well-being Index), a 18-item selfadministered instrument. 370 data for research were collected through the process of oriental health examination with questionnaire in workplace. Statistical analysis was done by t test, oneway ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis with SPSSWIN (version 10.0) <Results> Among the 152 respondents, the prevalence of high job strain was 27%(41 persons). The Odds ratio of high job strain was 3.11(95 2.12∼4.11), and those of passive group and active group were 2.01(95 0.83∼2.76) and 1.80(95 0.83∼2.76), respectively. Our results supported the association between psychosocial distress and job strain. <Conclusion> The odds ratio of high strain isolated group(high strain group+low social support) was 3.59(95 2.05 5.13), but the odds ratio of high strain collective group was 1.32(95 0.23 2.41). Social support at work was modifing factor of the association between psycho social distress and job strain. Therefore we reviewed the evidence that economic depression was associated with psycho social distress in this study, and that the strength of the social support was important in maintain health.

This paper proposes an efficient and effective BOM management scheme for small and medium manufacturing (SME) companies that produce automobile parts. Automobile part‘s manufacturers produce very various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and options of cars. These products are classified into product groups with common parts and like this product groups with commonality are regarded as product family. This paper proposes a BOM data model for product family structures and implements the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium manufacturing (SME) companies that produces automobile parts.
