        Myung-Kwan Park and Sunjoo Choi. 2017. On English Verbal Anaphor: VP Replacement and VP Ellipsis. Studies in Modern Grammar 96, 89-107. It has been noted that VP replacement do so is not allowed with verbal passives, though it is with unaccusatives (Hallman 2013). This paper develops an identity-based account for this contrast. Bruening (2016) recently reports that VP replacement is permitted even with passives in some restricted environments. Reformulating Miller's (2011) three options for VP anaphor (i.e., VP replacement and VP ellipsis), Bruening (2016) suggests two factors governing the choice of VP anaphor. Departing from Bruening (2016), however, this paper provides an identity-based account for the issue concerned, by demonstrating that VP replacement and VP ellipsis are derived in a similar way but they require different operational domains in tandem with the identity domain for VP replacement or ellipsis. Grounded on some key representative examples, we suggest that passives as well as unaccusatives require syntactic identity, but that they are distinguished in terms of the category where VP replacement or ellipsis applies. Furthermore, the difference between VP replacement and VP ellipsis concerning the size of operational domain can be extended to account for causative-inchoative alternations. In doing so, we argue that meeting the identity condition is crucial for VP replacement as well as VP ellipsis.

        구면 파노라마 영상에서는 심한 구면 왜곡으로 인하여 기존의 평면 패턴의 탐색 방법인 SURF가 올바르게 작동되지 않는다. 평면 패턴은 구면 영상에서 왜곡되어 나타나므로 구면 파 노라마 영상에서의 패턴 탐색 및 다른 텍스처로의 대치는 평면 영상의 경우와 다르게 처리되어 야 한다. 본 논문에서는 구면 파노라마 영상을 큐브맵 영상으로 변환하고 구면 왜곡이 제거된 평면 영상에서 SURF를 사용하여 패턴을 탐색하고 해당 평면 텍스처를 대치한 후 다시 구면 파노라마 영상으로 변환하는 구면 파노라마 영상에서의 평면 대치 방법을 제안한다.

        This study investigated the properties of lightweight foamed concrete by using surfactant and synthetic foaming agent, lightweight aggregate. The effects of foaming agent types and replacing ratio of lightweight aggregate on the compressive strength, density and pore structure of the concrete were investigated. This study showed the improvement of important properties of lightweight foamed concrete. Lower pore distribution and correspondingly higher compressive strength values were reached. Also, synthetic foaming agent had more positive effect on the strength of foamed concrete.

        교량 바닥판은 대형 차량 및 제설제와 같은 다양한 환경 요인으로 인해 급속히 악화되는 부재이다. 한국에 건설된 교량의 수명이 길 어짐에 따라 교량 바닥판의 교체 수요가 증가 할 것으로 예상된다. 다른 국가에서는 프리 캐스트 바닥판을 이용한 급속 교량 건설 기술이 열화 된 교량 바닥판의 교체 수요 대응을 위해 적극적으로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 교량 바닥판의 상태평가 데이터를 수집 및 분석하여 교량 바닥판 열화 모델을 제안 하였다. 또한 교량 규모의 관점에서 열화된 교량 바닥판의 미래 대체 수요를 예측하였다.

        고로슬래그 미분말은 공학적으로 우수한 건설산업 부산물이며, 최근들어 환경부하 저감 및 사용 활성화를 위해 대단위 슬래그 치 환 콘크리트가 많이 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 목표 강도를 50 MPa로 설정하고 고로슬래그미분말 치환률을 65%로 고려한 대단위 치환 슬 래그 콘크리트를 제조하여 건조수축특성과 초지재령 특성을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 3 수준의 콘크리트를 제조하였으며, 슬럼프 플로우, 강도, 건조 및 자기수축에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 보통 포틀랜트 시멘트를 100% 함유한 콘크리트(OPC 100)에 비하여 재령 7일전의 강 도는 약간 감소하였으나, 슬래그 치환 배합은 수화에 필요한 충분한 자유수를 가졌으므로 28일 재령에서는 우수한 강도 발현을 나타내었다. 또 한 재령 3일까지 큰 자기수축으로 인하여, OPC 100 배합에서는 건조수축이 크게 평가되었지만, 65% 고로슬래그 미분말을 치환한 배합에서는 초기재령의 자기수축 성능이 개선되어 우수한 건조수축거동을 나타내었다. 특히 단순 질량 치환배합(BS 65)보다 물-결합재비(0.27)와 단위수 량(163kg/m3)을 낮춘 OPTBS 65에서 더욱 우수한 건조수축 및 자기수축 거동을 나타내었다.

        This paper investigates the strength properties of ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS) with magnesium sulfate(MgSO4). GGBFS was replaced with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% MgSO4 by weight. Mixtures of sodium hydroxide(NaOH) and sodium silicate(Na2SiO3) were used as the alkaline activator; a mixture of 5% NaOH and 5% Na2SiO3, and a mixture of 10% NaOH and 10% Na2SiO3 by slag weight. The added activators were dissolved in the water, and the weight ratio of water to slag was 0.45. This study was performed using compressive strength testing, ultrasonic pulse velocity(UPV), water absorption and X-ray diffraction(XRD). In this study, the strength of hardened samples decreases with increasing MgSO4 content. In addition, the water absorption of samples increases and UPV decreases, with the increase of MgSO4 content. Brucite, gypsum and M-S-H(magnesium silicate hydrate) are present in the XRD patterns of the hardened samples.

        This study was conducted examine the mechanical properties of LEFC in relation to the type of light weight aggregate and replacement ratio. For the specimen, different replacement ratio was used for recycled waste ALC and the bottom ash light weight aggregate respectively. The tests revealed that 60% of the waste ALC light weight aggregate is suitable for securing the optimal strength and light weight of the LEFC.

        The use of recycled aggregate has been highly recommended for the environmental protection of nature and absolute shortage of natural aggregate's resource, but experimental methods adequate for each recycled product have not been established and also the data have not been enough to ensure the control of concrete quality. Thus, this study has an aim of applying high volume of recycled aggregate to the fabrication of concrete by investigating that production methods of recycled aggregate and its replacement ratio have effects on the performance of concrete.

        The synthetic gas obtained from the gasification of waste material becomes more important not only in waste reduction but also for the generation of clean energy directly applicable to industrial combustors firing LNG fuel without any major modification of the boiler system. Therefore, in this study, a systematic calculation was made for the turbulent reaction inside a conventional LNG combustor to determine the temperature distribution and fluid flow field. By doing this, the syngas obtained from gasification of combustible waste could be evaluated for the potential applicability of syngas as a substitute for LNG fuel in the industrial field. In this calculation, the ratio of the syngas amount to the LNG amount was fixed. That is, based on calorific value, 70% of the fuel was syngas and 30% was LNG. Since the calorific value of the syngas was different from that of LNG with a high energy density, the different volumetric flow rate was expected to give rise to a visible flow field change together with the local velocity. Thus, in this study, the swirl intensity and the inlet nozzle diameter were varied carefully in order to resolve the flow field and turbulence effects on the reaction characteristics of the co-burning flame. First of all, the calculation result of pure LNG combustion was made successfully as a reference and for evaluation of the code implementation. The results obtained from the numerical simulation of the burning of syngas in the LNG boiler could duplicate the combustion feature almost similar to that of 100% LNG fuels by changing the injection method of the syngas without any major change of the boiler system. The results suggested the high potential of syngas as an economic substitute for conventional LNG fuel.

        The present study investigated the effect of inclusion of chromium propionate (Cr-P) and lysophopholipid (LPL) in diet on blood parameters and meat quality of Hanwoo steer. Feeding trial was performed from late fattening period to slaughter and blood parameters (insulin, blood glucose and non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) concentration) and meat quality were examined. Total 4 experimental groups including control (no addition), T1 (Cr-P 0.2%), T2 (LPL 0.2%) and T3 (Cr-P 0.1% + LPL 0.1%) were employed. For blood parameters, insulin concentration in T1 and T3 showed an elevating patterns from 3.13 μU/mL to 3.35 μU/mL (T1) and from 4.38 μU/mL to 5.23 μU/mL (T3). The changes of NEFA in all groups were detected as a decreasing patterns according to days of feeding. However, significant difference was not found. In growth performance, T2 showed greater daily gain and T1 showed greater carcass yield compared to others. However, there were no significance in difference. In meat quality, T1 showed greater yield and intra-muscular fat levels and lower sharing force compared to others. However, significant differences were not detected.

        This study evaluates the material performance of slump value and compressive strength of the concrete which was made by recycled sand and blast furnace slag powder(BFSP). The main variables are replacement ratio of BFSP. As a result, it was evaluated that more detailed evaluation is needed in long-term strength development and the compensation of slump value to the replacement ratio of BFSP.

        본 연구는 폴리머 기반 보수모르타르에 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율의 영향을 평가하였다. 주요변수는 양생온도와 미분쇄된 플라이애시의 치환율이다. 양생온도는 40℃, 20℃ 및 5℃로, 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율은 결합재 대비 0~35%로 변화하였다. 굳지 않은 모르타르에서는 플로우를, 굳은 모르타르에서는 재령별 압축강도, 응력-변형률 관계 및 탄성계수, 파괴계수를 측정하고, 주사전자현미경 및 엑스선회절기 분석을 수행하였다. 실험결과 보수모르타르의 플로우, 탄성계수 및 파괴계수는 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율 20~30%에서 가장 높은 성능을 발휘하였다. 또한 재령별 압축강도는 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율과 양생온도에 현저한 영향을 받았는데, 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율 20%에서 초기강도 발현율이 가장 높았다. ACI 209에서 제시하고 있는 콘크리트 재령별 압축강도예측모델에서 초기 및 장기재령 강도발현 계수는 미분쇄된 플라이애시 치환율과 양생온도의 함수로 일반화할 수 있었다. 미분쇄된 플라이애시가 첨가된 페이스트는 수화생성물을 나타내는 피크(peak)의 수와 강도(intensity)가 증가되고 플라이애시 입자주변에 CSH 겔이 형성되었다.

        This study investigated the effect of coated feed using mixed oil on rumen fermentation characteristics. Two experiments were conducted based on materials that were mixed. First, cashew nut and soybean oils were mixed with white mineral oil. And second, different plant extracts were mixed with white mineral oil. At first experiment, inclusion levels of mixed oil on diet (0.03%, 0.1%, 0.5%) were applied as variables. A coated diet was fermented with rumen inoculum according to in vitro rumen fermentation and its parameters were investigated. In the result of first experiment, no negative effects on rumen pH were found. Significantly decreased dry matter digestibility was detected at 0.5% treatment (P<0.05). Total gas productions in control and 0.03% were significantly greater than those of others (P<0.05). Significantly reduced methane productions were found in all treatments compared to the control (P<0.05). Inclusion of mixed oil did not affect on ammonia production. Total volatile fatty acid production was also not influenced by coating with mixed oils. Rumen fermentation parameters were greatly changed according to introduced plant extracts at second experiment. The significantly lowest and greatest ammonia productions were found at treatments with Ixeris dentata and Plantago asiatica, respectively (P<0.05). The significantly greatest acetate and propionate productions were detected at treatments with Crucuma longa and Zizyphus vulgaris 1, respectively (P<0.05). All treatments, except Chrysanthemum idicum, Euyale ferox seed, Moringa leaf and fruit and Zizyphus vulgaris 1, showed significantly increased total volatile fatty acid production compared to the control (P<0.05). Only Paeonia lactiflora showed significantly lesser gas production than the control (P<0.05). In methane production, Ceramium, Zizyphus, Paeonia, Agrimonia, Torilis, Mugwort, Foeniculum, Euphorbia, Taraxacum, Artemisia, Momordica, Curcuma and Moringa reduced methane significantly compared to the control (P<0.05).

        This paper addresses the seismic performance of reinforced concrete coupling beams with various reinforcing details for a design alternative to simply the reinforcement details of coupling beam. The numerical analysis and test results showed that angle reinforced coupling beam exhibited a better stable behavior in comparison with non-diagonally coupling beams and sustained corresponding drift ratio, peak-to-peak stiffness and cumulative dissipated energy in comparison to diagonPally coupling beam.

        Environmental problems caused by the occurrence of carbon dioxide are recognized as a critical issue throughout the world. As a result, a measure for the use of cement and improvement of its quality must be sought out. In order to reduce the occurrence of carbon dioxide during the manufacturing process of cement, this study creates an alkali-activated slag cement that utilizes ground granulated blast furnace slag, an industrial by-product, and substitutes metakaolin as an alternative for silica fume to improve the process of manufacturing high-strength concrete and its quality. The study discerns the mechanical characteristics by measuring the flexibility and compressive strength through the mortar matrix and discerns the durability by conducting an acid resistance test and chloride ion penetration resistance test. Also, the study discerns the hydration products through an XRD test. Based on the results of such tests, it is anticipated that it may be used as a secondary product for concrete or buildings that require superior long-term strength and durability compared to regular Portland cement. However, as no clear results were found in this study regarding the substitution of metakaolin, it displayed mixed results in comparison to previous studies. Nevertheless, it is expected that metakaolin will become a more superior admixture if its issues are improved through continuous research studies.
